Three Men Killed in Shooting at Islamic Center of San Diego
The two teenage suspects, aged 17 and 19, murdered three men, including a security guard. Both are believed to have shot and killed themselves.
San Diego Police Chief Scott Wahl told the press that the two suspects in the shooting at the Islamic Center of San Diego are dead.

A mother of one of the suspects called the police this morning:
The police received a call this morning about a “runaway juvenile” from the mother of one of the shooting suspects, Chief Scott Wahl of the San Diego Police Department said in a news conference. The woman believed that her son was suicidal, and said that several of her weapons and her vehicle were missing. She said that her son left with a companion, and that they were both dressed in camouflaged clothing.

The San Diego Police Department received phone calls about an incident around 11:14 AM PST. They confirmed an active shooter situation at the denter at 12:00 PM.
The police neutralized the situation by 1 PM.
The threat at the Islamic center has been neutralized.
Media staging has been established as the Northwest Corner of Lindbergh Park.

The key here is “several of her weapons”
That doesn’t sound like a typical Black family, unless they happen to be upscale. I would be willing to bet you can rule out the perps being Black.

White or black it sounds as if Mom could be in trouble with the law for not having her weapons securely stored from unauthorized use.

Engaging in violence against strangers motivated in part by religion/immutable characteristics is horrendous. I can understand a motivation to violence against someone who harmed your family or killed your dog….doesn’t necessarily mean you should act on the motivation but at least there’s a direct reason for harming a specific person. Murdering strangers b/c you view them as ‘other’ or less than is vile and we gotta apply severe consequences. Maybe this attack will work to galvanize the leftist/woke usual suspects who’ve been steadily ignoring attacks v groups/people they disfavor into calling out the largely one sided political/social violence and join us in calling for an end to demonizing rhetoric… I ain’t holding my breath.

For these two whackos pulling the trigger on others then on themselves? Yeah no kidding. Now let’s address who knew they whackos. How long they knew. Were ‘authorities’ aware? Did bureaucrats drop the ball? Parents? Did they have a psychologist who didn’t properly diagnose? LEO encounters? Judicial system dropping the ball?. Legislature setting ineffective polices putting the public at risk out of fear of being called insensitive or for ideological reasons?
Every incident like this didn’t just fall out of the sky. Most times the trigger puller doesn’t off themselves. Their trial should be simple; is this the guy? Did he do x? Did LEO follow evidentiary rules? Ok the dude can plead guilty to get life without parole or opt to go to trial and get the death penalty. Appeals should be short. One shot before a.separate appeals court with a kitchen sink appeal held NLT 6 months from sentencing. One shot at State Supreme Court and one shot at cert to SCOTUS. That’s it. The day after.cert denied by SCOTUS march that MF out of the jail and hang him in front of the County Courthouse where the crime occurred.

As for “Caleb Vazquez” – Caleb is hardly a first or second generation choice of first names among immigrant Hispanics. I would speculate that he might be one of those fabled “White Hispanics.” Frankly family names tumbled about through generations of American culture and marriages are not very indicative of anything. Note that the OG White Hispanic was named “Zimmerman”

Hate crime laws are not primarily intended for crimes such as murder, which is treated strictly enough anyway, or at least ought to be. They’re primarily intended for lesser crimes, which on their own attract relatively lenient sentence, but which ought to be taken more seriously and attract a harsher sentence if they’re motivated by hatred for an entire group, since that makes the entire group victims.
There’s a huge difference between a graffitist who puts his tag on a warehouse, and one who paints a swastika on a synagogue or on a residence in a Jewish neighborhood. The former should be made to clean it up and nothing more need be said; the latter has intentionally struck terror in the hearts of an entire community and thus deserves a serious penalty.

early innings but read one report (with photos) on one of the shooters being in the process of transitioning–on a prescribed drug course / hormone treatment, etc–more disturbing is that if the parent(s) were aware of the situation, why on earth would such a kid have easy access to leathal weapons ?–just damned irresponsible if true–a catastrophic parental failure–alerting the authorities after the fact instead of being proactive and securing the weapons at home–lord
