Maine Senate Candidate Under Fire After Additional Offensive Posts Surface

[Note: This post contains vulgar language.]

Maine Democratic Senate candidate Graham Platner, already facing scrutiny over previously disclosed offensive Reddit posts, is under renewed fire after Fox News unearthed another batch of crude comments.

Fox reported that Platner:

[M]ade graphic sexual comments on his now-deleted account about masturbating in portable toilets and explicit graffiti found in military restrooms.

In one March 2017 post on Reddit’s r/Military forum, Platner responded to a discussion about nostalgic military smells by writing: “I still have to jerk off every time I sit in a portas****er… that blue water smell conditioned me.”

In another post from March 2021 on Reddit’s r/USMC forum, Platner described a crude penis drawing inside a portable toilet while deployed overseas.

Responding to a thread dedicated to so-called “GWOT D*** Art,” Platner launched into an extended monologue praising the explicit graffiti in unusually vivid terms, calling it “beautiful,” “engorged and veiny,” and moving “towards its penetrative glory.”

“Oh s***!!!,” Platner wrote. “You’ve got the Hot Rod C*** from Manas!”

The post accompanied a photograph of a smiling serviceman posing beside the explicit illustration inside the portable restroom.

“I sat there in sheer awe,” Platner wrote. “The soul filling joy to be allowed to witness such glory.”

The full archive of Platner’s deleted Reddit comments can be viewed on The Maine Monitor.

When the first wave of posts was disclosed, Fox reached out to Platner for comment. He replied, “You should read the comments in context. It’s very clear I’m joking.

“It’s called s***posting. It’s when you argue with people on the internet and try to bother them,” he said, adding, “So, yeah, no, it’s very obviously not true.”

Separately, Platner’s tasteless response to a Reddit video showing an American soldier being shot by the Taliban has come to light.

This video never gets old. Dumb motherf***er didn’t deserve to live. At least his stupidity and fat a** wheezing are available for all future infantrymen to witness and hold in contempt. Poor marksmanship on the Taliban’s part is the only reason this mouthbreather made it home, he managed to make every possible sh** decision possible when it comes to small unit combat.

It should be noted that Platner is 41 years old, meaning he wrote these comments in his thirties — well beyond the point when crude online behavior can be chalked up to youthful indiscretion.

Remarkably, Platner continues to lead incumbent Sen. Susan Collins in the RealClearPolitics polling average by 6.8 points despite prior revelations of vulgar posts and the Nazi tattoo on his chest. But with the most recent poll included in the average conducted in late March — well before the latest round of posts emerged — continued support from some of his backers may prove a bridge too far.

Democrats have long considered Collins’ seat to be a prime pickup opportunity, but they would be mistaken to underestimate her support in the state. She was widely expected to lose her 2020 reelection bid. On the eve of the election, the final RCP polling average showed her trailing Democratic nominee Sara Gideon, the speaker of the Maine House of Representatives, by 5.5 points.

Collins wound up winning the race by 8.6 points.

Platner received an endorsement from Democratic Socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont last August and another from far-left Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren in March.

Although Sanders, Warren, and most Democrats will try to minimize the significance of Platner’s newly disclosed remarks, just as they did his previous ones, GOP strategist and senior national security and legal analyst for The Daily Signal, Mehek Cooke, told Fox News this will “matter.” Voters, he said, are “deciding whether Graham Platner has the judgment, temperament, and basic decency to represent Maine in the Senate.”

Cooke continued, “His campaign has been built around authenticity and moral seriousness. These posts undercut both. Platner is not a truth-teller. He is someone whose instincts appear crude, reckless, and deeply unserious. And by the way, if they were really ‘jokes,’ why delete the posts? That sounds less like humor and more like a CYA cleanup operation.”

He added that a single “tasteless post can be chalked up to immaturity, but a years-long trail of vulgar, sexually degrading, and slur-filled commentary is a character issue.”

Whether Platner’s growing list of controversies ultimately hurts his standing with Maine voters remains to be seen. But Collins has repeatedly defied polling expectations in Maine, and Republicans are betting the renewed scrutiny surrounding Platner will once again reshape the dynamics of a race Democrats once viewed as winnable.

This will be one of the cycle’s most closely watched Senate races.

Did anyone expect any better from Nazi Tattoo guy? It’s rather telling that THIS is the best the communists could find…

He’s looking more engorged and veiny to the voters every week.
When they tell you what they are, believe them.

Babylon Bee, Prodigal Son ejected after old tweet surfaces.

Gee, does the guy not realize how scrutinized your life becomes when you seek office?
If you have said or done anything sketchy…

Soldiers making sexually graphic comments and using bathroom humor? I would hope they do. That’s nothing … seriously Republicans aren’t going to make much headway here but always fall for this bullshit.

Bury him on celebrating the death of a soldier by the Taliban though. That’s going to bother some persuadables … if the Republicans aren’t too stupid to capitalize on it.

Oh No! A marine made crude bathroom humor jokes. Whatever will the pearl clutching Karens do!
Grip yourself people. Military men and women can be pretty crude, make 5th grade jokes and engage in gallows humor that civilians will find hard to understand. Always been a thing.

Ok but he left the military in 2011 and appears to have ramped up his comments since then. Personally I don’t care but I find it amazing the pearl clutching democrats support him. Makes you wonder what they actually believe, (Hint: answer is anything bringing them power and more power,)

    CommoChief in reply to diver64. | May 19, 2026 at 4:01 pm

Sure though he didn’t stick to that explanation. Instead he scrubbed his Social media to evade scrutiny of his ‘humor’ then when it surfaced claimed it was ‘just jokes’. IMO he invalidated his defense by scrubbing to evade scrutiny. Had he left his prior social media history up and then leaned into it ‘I’m a regular guy, a Marine, a Veteran, an oyster fisherman(?) and I use the rough but authentic language of that background’ stood his ground….. then he’d be far more credible. He abandoned that sort of defense when he tried to abandon his past social media.

Yeah, he likes big dicks because he is one of the biggest.

“This video never gets old. Dumb motherfucker didn’t deserve to live. At least his stupidity and fat ass wheezing are available for all future infantrymen to witness and hold in contempt. Poor marksmanship on the Taliban’s part is the only reason this mouthbreather made it home, he managed to make every possible shit decision possible when it comes to small unit combat.” -Platner, 2019

That “dumb motherfucker” was Pfc. Ted Daniels serving in Afghanistan in 2012, who stepped out to draw Taliban fire so the rest of his squad could get away. Daniels was shot four times.

yeah but suppose he insulted a female in the marines it would show that allll men are hateful and must be eliminated…except if they are leftists

They tried to crucify Trump for far less offensive language. Screw Nazi tattoo guy.

    “Grip yourself people. ”

    ISWYDT. Did you?

In Marine groups we call the Tuesday. I’m sure plenty of civilians will be clutching their pearls but this a no story. His tattoo and his remade origin story is what they should be pounding on.

This Nazi is a serial fabulist like 99% of democrats and frankly most politicians. You know he is not a blue collar worker don’t you. He is from a wealthy Maine family. He went to a private school. His oyster business is probably more like a hobby with his product being sold exclusively to his mother’s restaurant. I’ve read more about his BS but these are some of the salient points I’ve retained. No I have to go wash my brain out – no not the democrat type of brain washing.

destroycommunism | May 19, 2026 at 3:19 pm

pales in comparison to his dnc tattoo

I hope this ends delusions about Maine not being a blue state, and ends the temptation for morons to call Susan Collins a rino.

I hope she manages to defy political gravity again, even if it is only one last time the love of nazi imagery by this scumbag has caused amnesia to the fact that he is a violent antifa thug who trains antifa thugs in political violence.

CommoChief in reply to Danny. | May 19, 2026 at 4:14 pm

Collins is just about as ‘conservative’ a candidate that can win statewide in Maine. You are entirely correct on that point. Folks gotta stop the nonsensical expectation that every GoP Senator has a similar electorate/constituents. Maine ain’t Mississippi and demanding a Senate from Maine hold as solidly ‘conservative’ a voting record as a Senator from a solid Red State is beyond naive, IMO it is actively stupid. That said rino Senators from Red States should be slapped down hard for going to DC and ‘evolving’. Primary these weasels and get rid of them like Cassidy and probably Cornyn. Hopefully Sen Lankford of Oklahoma and Murkowski of Alaska are both on the menu for getting slapped around in the ’28 primary, assuming they seek re-election and/or don’t switch parties.

      Murkowski has Protection.🦏💰
      Ask Kelly Tschibaka.

CommoChief in reply to henrybowman. | May 19, 2026 at 6:48 pm

On the other hand Alaska is a big State, a very long way from DC and planes do occasionally crash. Plus she’ll be 70+ if she’s running for another term in ’28. I get it, being in Congress is a nice gig. Get a staff to do your bidding, an office, nice pay, benefits, healthcare and pension. People kiss your butt, such up to curry favor, folks refer to you as Senator, lobbyists wine/dine you, pay to fly you out to some resort for a ‘fact finding’ trip. Sooner or later the party ends and setting up an exit on your own terms seems preferable to getting embarrassed in a primary. Way better to go out to a nice corporate sinecure than hang around until the wheels fall off like some have done/are doing unable to meet the duties of the office.

Olinser in reply to CommoChief. | May 19, 2026 at 5:48 pm

Didn’t Lankford already admit he wasn’t going to run for re-election?

      He knows he’s toast.

CommoChief in reply to Olinser. | May 19, 2026 at 6:39 pm

No public announcement from him that he ain’t running. There is speculation that he won’t b/c he may get flipping embarrassed in a competitive primary and especially if Trump and most others endorse his opponent.

Subotai Bahadur | May 19, 2026 at 5:07 pm

The facts that he admires the Nazis (note, my dad liberated a concentration camp), celebrates when an American soldier is killed by an enemy, and is misogynistic means that he is almost a perfect fit for the Democrats. The only thing left is for him to come out as an admirer of Laverenti Beria and he will be perfect for them.

This is a spiritual crisis, not a political one. Platner could don a KKK robe, boil a living black baby on TV and eat it by the light of a burning cross – and it would not cost him a single vote.

A sizable percentage of our population (30-35%) with vast amounts of power compared to their numbers are eager and ready to genocide “bigots” (read: anyone who will not bow the knee to Marxism).

I wouldn’t be surprised to see him in the VP slot for 2028.

Jaundiced Observer | May 20, 2026 at 12:10 pm

What happens when Republicans run out of Platner’s aged poorly posts and have to run on policy?

drsamherman | May 21, 2026 at 9:38 pm

I don’t really give a damn what he said, but the blatant hypocrisy of the Dems on this one is just over the top. The tattoo is not a “Totenkopf”, but it is. He is not antisemitic, but he is. He’s not a socialist sphincter, but he is. He’s not being paid for and beholden to Dems’ most accursed types, billionaires, but he IS. My Gawd, Platner is an ouroboros that is swallowing itself so fast it will disappear in a nanosecond.
