Fairfax DA’s Testimony Implodes Under Jim Jordan’s Questions on Sanctuary Policies

Fairfax DA’s Testimony Implodes Under Jim Jordan’s Questions on Sanctuary Policies

“Your sheriff said you wouldn’t prosecute. This guy gets released, kills someone the next day. We start asking about it, you change your website and take down the statements that say you’re going to take into account immigration consequences when you decide what you are going to charge.”

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan tore into Fairfax County District Attorney Steve Descano, backed by George Soros, over giving preferential treatment to illegal aliens and changing immigration rhetoric on his campaign website.

The hearing, “Fairfax County, Virginia: The Dangerous Consequences of Sanctuary Policies,” addressed how Descano has cut deals and dropped charges against numerous illegal aliens.

Descano became national news after Abdul Jalloh, an illegal alien from Sierra Leone, allegedly stabbed to death Stephanie Minter, 41, at a Virginia bus stop.

It turns out Descano kept dropping charges against Jalloh before Minter’s murder.

Jollah previously faced “rape, malicious wounding, assault, identity theft, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, assault, and pickpocketing” charges.

Jordan brought up a missing section on Descano’s campaign website that disappeared one week after the committee requested his first appearance.

Yeah, um, that section was on his website for six years.

The missing section: “If two people commit the same crime, but only one’s punishment includes deportation, that’s a perversion of justice and not a reflection of the values of Fairfax County.”

Jordan had a simple question: “Why did you change your website?”

Descano could not answer it. Instead of saying something simple like, “I don’t know,” Descano dug himself into a deeper hole.

I highlighted Descano’s response that triggered gasps and dropped jaws from Democrats and his supporters:

JORDAN: Why did you change your website?

DESCANO: Well, sir, because the website is not my policy. My policy…

JORDAN: I think the voters might be interested in that. This is your campaign website where you said our office will take immigration consequences into account when making charging and plea decisions. Immigration consequences were certainly part of the game here, part of the issue here with Mr. Morales-Ortiz.

DESCANO: No, they weren’t. They absolutely were not. You are assuming something that is, in fact, untrue because you are misrepresenting my policies. My policies do not say that we do not prosecute people because of their immigration status.

JORDAN: Well, if you’re proud of your policies, why did you change your website?

DESCANO: Because that’s not my policy. As I told you, sir, that is a campaign statement that I made before I was Commonwealth Secretary.

JORDAN: It had been up for six years, a week after we sent you a letter saying we want you to come testify, shazam, you change it. Is that coincidental?

DESCANO: Because I could not believe that people were so obtuse that they could not realize what the difference between a campaign statement and an actual office policy is.

JORDAN: So when you make campaign statements, those aren’t true? You’re not being honest with your voters?

DESCANO: That’s not what I’m saying at all, sir.

JORDAN: Sure sounded like it.

Jordan continued to press Descano, who kept digging his hole:

JORDAN: You still haven’t told me why you took it down.

DESCANO: Because I was hoping to come here to talk about my office policies, not be distracted by a campaign statement that would be the year before I was actually Commonwealth attorney, attorney and had any cases that were mine.

JORDAN: This is almost laughable. This is your policy. You said it right here. You told the voters, if you elect me, I will take into account immigration consequences when making charges and pleading.

DESCANO: This is my policy (holding up papers), not what you have in your hand.

JORDAN: Oh, okay, so what you said to the voters is not real? Doesn’t count?

DESCANO: No, sir. What I’m saying is that, as an office holder…

JORDAN: Your sheriff said you wouldn’t prosecute. This guy gets released, kills someone the next day. We start asking about it, you change your website and take down the statements that say you’re going to take into account immigration consequences when you decide what you are going to charge.

“If two people commit the same crime, but only one’s punishment includes deportation, that’s a perversion of justice and not a reflection of the values of Fairfax County.”

One of those two people committed TWO crimes, you abject moron.

He also doesn’t understand (or counts on his supporters to not understand) that deportation isn’t punishment for a crime. It’s an equitable solution that restores a situation to a lawful state. That’s why the “immigration courts” were given authority to process aliens illegally in the country and to order their deportation – it’s an administrative court that doesn’t try criminal complaints and does not issue sentences as punishment for the commission of crimes. Aliens who are prosecuted for violation of immigration laws are tried in criminal courts, not in the immigration courts. But it’s easier on all parties to just order their deportation in an administrative process, so that’s how most of them are removed.

I checked my statement and here’s what Google AI had to say:

Criminal violations of U.S. immigration laws are tried in federal courts, specifically the United States District Courts and, for preliminary proceedings, United States Magistrate Courts.

These are Article III courts, which are part of the federal judiciary, not to be confused with the administrative “immigration courts” (EOIR) that handle civil removal proceedings.

He needs to lose his job and then disbarred for not treating everyone the same under the law.

On another note can’t some sort of conspiracy charge be lodged against Soros for repeatedly bankrolling politicians who refuse to do their jobs whenever illegal aliens or in some case minorities are involved.

Communist/Islamofascist/Muslim supremacist Dhimmi-crat apparatchiks are all inveterate, unabashed and brazen fabulists.

Alej in reply to guyjones. | May 15, 2026 at 8:23 am

A fabulist is defined as a person who tells or writes fables (moral tales, often with animals) or, in a modern context, a liar who creates elaborate, false stories. It originates from the Latin fabula, meaning story or tale, and often implies a persistent fabrication of lies,

Save your narcissistic, self-congratulatory and obnoxious linguistic “corrections,” especially given that you’re patently incorrect, in this instance — thus only demonstrating your own narcissism and stupidity.

      Per Google Gemini:

“Yes, “fabulist” is a synonym for “liar”. While it originally referred to a writer of fables (like Aesop), it evolved to describe someone who invents elaborate falsehoods or mythologizes their own life. It often implies a more creative or dramatic form of lying than a simple fib.”

Stupid wanker. Next time, don’t be in such a breathless rush to correct people, next time, Professor Moron.

        you actually trust the googull?

I will stand on the two milennia history long ahead o this agenda driven upstart tech thing called google. Perhaps a good look in a large mirror will reveal the real phabulist…..

Hey, cretin — don’t apply for a Mensa membership, anytime soon, idiot.

Sharpen your meager “intellect,” you dim-witted dunce, before arrogantly presuming to correct others — imbecile.

This guy is so stupid, he’d argue that his dog ate his homework when the whole class knows his dog died three weeks ago.

How is a free ticket home a punishment?

amatuerwrangler | May 14, 2026 at 8:37 pm

At least now there is verified testimony that candidates make promises, state policies, that they have no intention of implementing should they be elected. His statement backs up the demonstration of that practice by the newly elected governor of Virginia.

I hope the voters take this to heart.

    Virginia42 in reply to amatuerwrangler. | May 15, 2026 at 9:36 am

Unfortunately the idiots in Fairfax probably won’t.

      FOTborn1943 in reply to Virginia42. | May 16, 2026 at 4:47 pm

50% +1 will not, They FOOLishly elected him because they identify with his “holier than thou” babble and actions. Babble is bad enough; action/inaction even worse; Soros is pleased with both.

Tionico in reply to amatuerwrangler. | May 15, 2026 at 1:34 pm

I hope the voters don’t get a chance to decide…. this creep should be charged as an accessory to the murder Had he done his sworn duty, the perp would have either been behind bars or depored, thus unable o commit the murder

ztakddot in reply to Tionico. | May 15, 2026 at 3:59 pm

I like the idea of deporing the perp as punishment, Filling in those pores -> skin not breathing -> death.

Freeze the assets of “Stinky” Soros & Sons. Jail them, and make them listen to tirades by Greta Thunberg 24/7.

We want to RICO the corrupt Soros clan.
They want to make Puerto Rico a state.
    So much common ground.

    Alej in reply to Spike3. | May 15, 2026 at 8:28 am

Absolutely – Soros is a criminal rescued from British justice by (W) Bush, spirited out of England and given sanctuary by that RINO exPresident.

Make little Alex marry Hildebeast’s girltoy and Wiener’s used ex-wife,

    Oh wait,

Okay them make him wear oversized glasses.

Every word out of Descano’ s mouth is a lie – a misdirection, an omission, a sly evasion, an illusion. The man is a vile bigot and a complete scumbag.

The media in Fairfax County know it.
The Democrat voters in Fairfax County know it.
The judges in Fairfax County know it.
The Sheriff and her entire department in Fairfax County knows it.
The Fairfax County Police Department knows it.

AND THEY DON’T CARE ENOUGH TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT.

Because illegal aliens means larger census numbers and more vote fraud and guaranteed Democrat control of Fairfax County and control in Richmond.

They’re willing to sacrifice a few naive white ladies to maintain power.

Simple as that.

Well, unfortunately we can’t even blame the liberal voters in Fairfax County for his being re-elected. Last election he was unopposed. There was no Republican candidate.

    Virginia42 in reply to bev. | May 15, 2026 at 9:38 am

I had to do a write in. GOPe efforts here and in the rest of the Commonwealth have been pathetic.

That was just, like, my campaign website. I didn’t believe any of it, I was just trying to get elected, man.

E Howard Hunt | May 15, 2026 at 7:13 am

Descano represents foreign murderers and rapists, and the white women who love them.

This turd needs a visit from a few real men in a dark alley some evening. For a good “talking to” of course…

Another fund raising performance of Jordan singing for his supper. A more impressive feat would be sponsoring a bill that criminalizes local prosecutors releasing violent illegals. Then we can dispense with the questions about web sites and instead ask ‘how do you plead, sir?’

destroycommunism | May 15, 2026 at 10:59 am

ok this is the way to do it ( thanks jim). but then jordan must insist to be on cnn etc for equal and fair time rules and “force” that crowd to hear this

Trump won 2024 b/c enough dems were tired of the illegals taking over their turf>>money and then the crime factoring into some limo libs being attacked….

the left is evil

fight them with more evil ( which will 90+percent of the time be with facts)

Nice kabuki. Standing ovation.
Wake me when something actually happens.

“Strong Letter” Jordan is a master a lots of talk and no action.

Doesn’t all this make Descano an accessory to the murder? That’s a felony in every jurisdiction in the US. As such, it would be beyond qualified immunity. And since it can be labeled a hate crime, it would end up in a federal court.
