FBI Investigating Alleged Assault on Journalist During Anti-ICE Protest

“As you can see these people come up to me multiple times, put dildos in my face, body check me, punch me and push me down.”

Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Harmeet K. Dhillon confirmed the FBI has started an investigation into the alleged assault on conservative journalist Savanah Hernandez at an anti-ICE protest.

The anti-ICE protest took place in Minneapolis, MN, because, of course, it did, outside the Whipple Federal Building.

“Here was the lead up to the assault on me today,” Hernandez wrote on X. “As you can see these people come up to me multiple times, put dildos in my face, body check me, punch me and push me down.”

It turns out that the man Hernandez accused of inciting the mob, William Scott Kelly, faces charges in connection with the storming of Cities Church in St. Paul, MN.

In January, Kelly dared then-Attorney General Pam Bondi to arrest him for ambushing the church.

Kelly faces charges for violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act.

Hernandez informed everyone that the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office said three people would face charges:

GOOD NEWS: The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office states that the three people who assaulted me yesterday, will be CHARGED.

Here’s the footage of Paige Ostroushko, one of the three, being arrested after attacking me.

She immediately runs from the police and pretends to act shocked as to why she’s being detained.

Thank you to @BreannaMorello for being so on top of this and thank you to the Sheriff’s department who ended up having to drive me to safety yesterday due to the violence of the mob.

Am looking forward to seeing these charges all the way through.

I’m confused as to what the FBI’s authority is on this assault case.

Because they’ve been beating the hell out of journalists in Portland and Seattle for years and the FBI has never gotten off their asses to do anything.

Perhaps because it occurred outside a federal building.

Well there is the fact that this looks like a trip with the intention of attacking of Hernandez. A trip that involved them crossing state lines. Maybe that is why the FBI is involved. Most crimes that cross state lines are subject to Federal investigation I believe.

Again… Portland tics all these boxes.

        FBI? FBI? FBueller?

The difference seems to be the clear video footage of the assailant(s) making an unquestioned battery on the Journalist during daylight hours and without masks or face coverings. Local Deputies were on scene and willing to go hands on to subdue suspects. In that circumstance the DoJ has an easy layup and it would be, IMO, irresponsible of the DoJ to refuse it.

By contrast the antifa loons in Portland and elsewhere seem to operate in darkness, in trained/coordinated teams, wearing face coverings/masks and within a sympathetic crowd dressed nearly identically they can retreat into to make identification of perp very difficult. Making a positive ID and arrest of the assailant(s) under those circumstances is far more difficult. Particularly if the local LEO leadership is unwilling to put forth much if any effort to adapt to/disrupt the antifa tactics which seems to be case in Portland.

The most reliable way for law enforcement to verify the identity of a mask wearing antifa is with an autopsy.

CommoChief – follow HoneyBadger, Katie DavisCourt, Brandi Kruz. It has happened at night, in broad daylight, they have video, they have even attempted civil suits (in both directions as the bloggers have on many occasions had to break out the OC spray and antifa plays victim). The local prosecutor, police.

Katie got whacked in the face with a flag pole (which antifa use as bats) and pointed the perp out directly to police- who did NOTHING. The event was caught on video. This is right outside the ICE facility in downtown portland where antifa still regularly attempts to set it on fire.

Look up Pepe the antifascist frog- this is where all the costumes started. It’s easier to see a fart in the wind than the FBI doing anything.

I believe they violated one of the anti-Klan acts.

DaveGinOly in reply to Andy. | April 14, 2026 at 12:56 am

DOJ’s/FBI’s angle is, more than likely, that the assaults were violations of the journalist’s federal civil rights.

    diver64 in reply to Andy. | April 14, 2026 at 5:43 am

I’m confused as to who the perps are. Do we have a married couple, Paige and Chris, involved? Will they be in the same cell?
The difference is that here the Sheriff Deputies actually did something instead of being ordered to stand by and watch.

Concise in reply to Andy. | April 14, 2026 at 9:29 am

Well it is possible, at the very least, that the assaults occurred on federal property. An AI summary: “Based on reports from early 2026 regarding the Bishop Henry Whipple Federal Building in Minneapolis (a primary ICE operational site), the area immediately surrounding the building, including the parking lot where new fencing and concrete barriers were installed, is considered federal property”

So, clearly assaults on federal property.

Deliberately crowding someone or preventing them from leaving should be considered assault. If this isn’t the law then the law should be changed.

People have the right to having sufficient space surrounding them for their own protection. I understand that this gets squirrely in crowded circumstances but purposely depriving someone of such space when there is no need to do so is just not acceptable.

expanding of the face act would be what the left would do here

so ,,,,do it!!!

“The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office states that the three people who assaulted me yesterday, will be CHARGED.”

Has the DA stated yet when the charges will be dismissed?

Sanddog in reply to henrybowman. | April 13, 2026 at 5:42 pm

Soon thereafter. If someone blew a 140db whistle inches from my head repeatedly, charges from a DA would be the least of her worries because that is a violent attack and I’d respond accordingly.

Owl in reply to Sanddog. | April 13, 2026 at 6:02 pm

True that! There must be a law. Against doing that!

      Gremlin1974 in reply to Sanddog. | April 13, 2026 at 6:26 pm

Agreed, if that happened to me I would react as if it is a violent assault and react accordingly. I have had surgery in both ears and have prosthetic bones in my ears, so something like that could cause me to go deaf, which equals great bodily harm in my opinion.

Commiefornia Refugee in reply to Sanddog. | April 13, 2026 at 7:46 pm

Blowing a loud whistle in close proximity of a person is an attempt to maim – to cause serious bodily injury. Self defense is warranted.

    diver64 in reply to henrybowman. | April 14, 2026 at 5:47 am

I think this is why the Feds are getting involved. If the person was essentially kidnapped (held against her will from leaving) while exercising her 1st Amendment rights as a journalist then that might be where Harmeet is getting her hooks into it. Even when the local Soros DA dismisses charges the Feds will step right in.

Might be time to find a ‘less lethal’ round for use on to a Mark-19 pumping out 40mm grenades. Heck once the violent, riotous, assembly has refused commands to stay back, disperse just cut loose with a few 12 GA firing rubber pellets in a sustained volley until the mob breaks and runs. If they don’t before all the less than lethal ammo is expended ….sucks to be them when buckshot starts flying.

TrickyRicky in reply to CommoChief. | April 13, 2026 at 11:37 pm

Rock salt in a 12GA is also effective.

Bean bags look like they might be fun, if this clip is shows an accurate depiction of their effect:

Personally, my nines are made by Nosler and “+P” is their names. The target in my avatar? That’s a 37 round group fired at 12 paces, with only two out of the black. I’ve been working on my speed too.

CommoChief in reply to DaveGinOly. | April 14, 2026 at 8:10 am

I was thinking more like a half and half mix of a bunch of rubber pellets alongside paintballs with CS instead of paint packed into 40mm rounds in the Mark-19 pumping out 40-60 rounds a minute until the mob chooses to comply with basic lawful commands to halt in place, lay down, arms wide, ankles crossed. When the mob is 100% compliant the barrage stops and arrests begin but until 100% compliance is reached ….

Commie, pinko, weirdo losers

Alleged? The video shows that an assault happened.

Democrats are Terrorists

Liberalism is a mental disorder

Was hoping a gaggle of reinforcements would arrive with their hickory shampoo sticks. Left disappointed.

One thing I do notice about these folks is when they are blowing whistles in people’s ears and whatnot they seem to be completely unaware of how devastating a backwards elbow can be if it hits you just below the Hinge of the Jaw, because they put themselves in perfect position for it. Just look at the child with the whistle. I so wanted Hernandez to just throw an elbow back while going up on her tiptoes.
