New Info on Mamdani’s Wife’s Pro-Hamas Social Media History Prompts National Security Concerns

“Because of his wife’s support of terrorism, @NYCMayor @ZohranKMamdani cannot receive a federal security clearance. He’s a national-security threat. We can’t trust him to work with U.S. intelligence agencies to protect NYC.”

As Legal Insurrection reported at the time, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani was none too pleased to learn that just days into his administration, Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro was forcibly removed from power by the U.S. military.

In part because Maduro was a socialist comrade and in part because displays of United States power and dominance make him very uncomfortable, an outraged Mamdani issued a statement condemning the move. He made a rather odd claim in the process, stating he “was briefed” on the matter that morning:

I was briefed this morning on the U.S. military capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, as well as their planned imprisonment in federal custody here in New York City.

Mamdani’s remarks left many perplexed. Why on earth would the Trump administration, especially members of the national security team, “brief” Mamdani on anything of this nature, let alone a top secret foreign operation – and especially one that involved taking a fellow socialist into custody?

It sounded like a lie told by someone with a highly inflated sense of self-importance, and as it turns out, that’s exactly what it was, as Mamdani was forced to admit during a presser when asked about it a few days later:

“You don’t have federal security clearance yet, and has anyone from a federal agency reached out to you or members of your team to begin the vetting to get federal security clearance?” a reporter asked.

“That briefing, yes, was conducted by my team,” Mamdani responded. “And the question of federal security clearance is one that’s [ongoing].”

The problem with Mamdani’s revised statement is that, because he is, in effect, a terrorist sympathizer with clear loyalties to the Hamas regime, it’s extremely doubtful that he would ever be given “federal security clearance” by the Trump administration.

But even if there was any chance of it happening, it likely evaporated earlier this week when it was revealed that Mamdani’s wife, Rama Duwaji, had hit the “love” button on dozens of Instagram posts after the 10/7 Hamas terrorist attacks against Israeli civilians, including one that called the allegations of rape a “mass rape hoax”:

NYC’s first lady liked a February 2024 Instagram post by an anonymous pro-Palestine influencer questioning the validity of a New York Times report about sexually violent attacks by Hamas on civilians, according to a screenshot shared on X Saturday by reporter Olivia Reingold of The Free Press.

“If I told you that The New York Times hired a recently graduated college student with only a couple prior articles written on the subject of food and cooking to be their lead on the ground ‘reporter’ on the ‘mass rape’ hoax they fabricated, would you believe it? That’s Adam Sella,” said @zei_squirrel in the hateful post.

[…]

[Other posts] include one where the first lady liked a post claiming Israel is waging a “vile land grab” and another claiming pro-Palestine protesters who took over a Columbia University building in 2024 are “on the right side of progress.”

[…]

The new report comes after The Jewish Insider reported Friday that Duwaji liked a celebratory Instagram post on the day of Hamas’ Oct. 7, 2023, which killed more than 1,200 innocents.

The inflammatory social media posts included images allegedly taken from livestreamed footage of the attack, showing a gleeful group riding on what appeared to be a commandeered Israel Defense Forces vehicle with the words “resisting apartheid since 1948,” the Jewish Insider reported.

There was also this:

Mamdani was fed a softball question about reports of his wife’s social media behavior on Friday. Here’s how he responded:

During an unrelated news conference in the Bronx, the question posed to Mamdani was not about the first lady’s pro-Palestinian views, which she regularly expresses in her artwork and posts on her Instagram account. But rather it focused on whether it was anybody’s business and if it is fair to ask Mamdani about it.

“My wife is the love of my life and she’s also a private person who has held no formal position on my campaign or in my City Hall. I however was elected to represent all eight and a half million people in the city and I believe that it’s my responsibility because of that role to answer any questions about my thoughts and my policies and my decisions,” Mamdani said during the unrelated press conference.

Watch:

Laughably, the New York Times went to bat for Mamdani on the issue first by framing it this way:

… and then by making the following observations, as if the fact that they got married after she hit the love button on those hateful posts makes him look any better:

They were not married when she liked the posts; the couple wed in early 2025, and he did not enter the Democratic primary for mayor until October 2024.

Furthermore, no one can forget that Mamdani’s views mirror those of his wife. Undoubtedly, it was an issue that bonded them. This was his statement a day after the 10/7 attacks, while he was a New York Assemblyman:

And this was Mamdani two weeks before the 10/7 attacks:

And of course, we cannot forget this:

As noted earlier, the likelihood of Mamdani getting a federal security clearance at this point is slim to none. In fact, some are calling on him to resign or for New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D), who endorsed Mamdani’s mayoral campaign, to remove him:

Not gonna happen. But I suspect that the 49% of voters who went to the polls and chose someone other than Mamdani for mayor would be among the first to applaud if it did.

You and her have so much in common. You hate America, love her enemies, think mamdani is a great guy…she sounds perfect for you.

I love America more than I love Israel and that makes you, and many others here, mad as hell. I don’t know why.

Go figure, real Americans don’t like bigotry.

Nonsense. You’ve been mourning for the ayatollah since he got sent to hell. If anything you hate the US slightly less than you hate Israel.

Get stuffed, dunce. No one’s asking you to love Israel more than the U.S. That a dishonest and bullshit rationalization that your dim-witted intellect contrived.

True conservative patriots love the U.S., first, while also supporting and expressing affection for our close allies, including Israel.

Get back on your soiled knees and continue servicing/sucking off Islamofascists and Muslim supremacists.

You’re a fifth columnist piece of excrement, a fool and a reprobate.

Frankly I don’t care if an American dislikes Israel for well thought out logical reasons that I probably disagree with. What pisses me off is when they lie about Israel or don’t apply those same reasons to other countries especially muslim or socialist/communist countries. That’s dishonesty and hypocrisy.

But you do not love America, which is reflected in your comments, and you are not important enough to inspire anger. Pity, perhaps, but certainly not anger. Is your self-esteem that small?

You, sir, are a traitor and are a man without a country! You do not deserve to call yourself an American. Live among your Gaza, Hamas killers, friends.

How can you Seymour Butz when your head has already been surgically implanted inside one?

Yeah, who’s going to pursue that story? Just another flash in the pan about the Islamo-Marxist mayor. Nothing new here.

Obama shouldn’t have qualified for a security clearance…..

It only took 25 years for NYC to forget. A muslim is never going to what is good for a US city.

Mamdani would be a better fit as a politician in Syria.

Hamashole Mamdani. Has a nice and predictable ring to it…

The much bigger national security risk is from Mamdani himself. His many statements and social media posts indicate his loyalties …… which seem not to include the US. As the mayor of NYC, he likely has access to US intelligence products.

Mamdani’s still being vetted for a security clearance though there are officials with high level clearances who brief him. He is currently “working with Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch to restructure units like the Strategic Response Group (SRG.)” In other words, he intends to exert direct influence over operational deployment of NYPD resources. How much that includes the Anti-Terror Task Force is an open question.

The mayor’s authority includes authorizing the NYPD’s cooperation with the FBI’s antiterror resources, as well as directing the Police Commissioner to execute international warrants (e.g., on foreign leaders) who travel to NYC.
He also has tremendous budgetary power.

The more layers you peel off this rotten apple the bigger the stink.

Enjoy the hell you brought upon youselves a-holes.

It sure seems that the Mamdani administration heralds a decline in NY on multiple fronts, But here’s the thing, for the Mamdanis and Obamas of the world that’s a feature, not a bug. The goal for them is power and they frankly welcome decline as solidifying and growing their power base. So Congratulations NY. You chose a communist who wants to globalize the intifada. Enjoy yourselves.

NYers elect an islamist as mayor, then later discover his islamist wife… **checks notes**… cheered the mass murder of Jews.

Nothing about this should surprise anyone. Islam is a cancer in the West. They seek to conquer, not assimilate. Treatment must start immediately, or death is imminent.

Guess it’s time for another 9/11 in New York City but this time the mayor will be helping the terrorists

Leftists supporting terrorism is unremarkable. What’s disturbing is that many don’t consider it disqualifying for social acceptance much less association with high offices. Much to be said in favor of returning to basic civic norms where shame and shunning were used in a soft power, unofficial way to put some actions outside acceptability.

ztakddot in reply to CommoChief. | March 8, 2026 at 4:35 pm

Women are the reason why shame and shunning are no longer in vogue strange as that may seem. Hell I’d be happy if we returned to pointing out the responsible person and accepting responsibility. Women have eliminated that as well. Saw this happen in the work place time and time again.

The call is coming from inside the house.

After reading this article, you may feel that you have a deep hatred for Mamdani and his wife . . .

. . . but that hatred cannot possibly be deep enough. These Marxist Islamists have earned a universe of hatred.

Is there some reason anti semite muslim women always look so arrogant and condescending?

So wifey is a potential threat? That makes two of them. Should come as no surprise unless one is clueless about what’s going on in NYC and the world.

The Real Truth | March 9, 2026 at 12:50 pm

Mamdami should NEVER get a federal security clearance. He and his wife are both a danger to our country for their views and opinions. How I wish that this man had never been elected Mayor of New York. I believe the only reason he was elected was because of him offering FREE stuff, and no other viable candidate. The man is totally unqualified to run this city or any other American city !
