Chaos Descends on California State U. Board Meeting Over Males in Female Sports

This all stems from the women’s volleyball team, which has been wrestling with this problem for months now. The board at CSU tried to make a recent meeting open to commentary, and it just turned into a rhetorical food fight.

The California State University (CSU) system’s board of trustees meeting Tuesday was shaken by a stampede of emotional residents and alumni reacting to a decision to sue the federal government.
CSU and San Jose State University announced Friday they are filing the lawsuit to challenge the U.S. Department of Education’s recent findings that SJSU violated Title IX in its handling of a transgender volleyball player from 2022-24.
Tuesday’s meeting turned into a war of words. Many speakers ignored instructions to address the board and instead addressed other speakers in the crowd.
One woman, a CSU employee, said she showed up with the intention of discussing budget cuts but abandoned that plan to address “transphobia” by other speakers once she heard what they said.
“The fact that I have to get up here and have to say that trans women are women and that’s what I have to use my time to do is absurd. Shame on you. Shame on all of you,” she said.
The female employee then took aim at the “save women’s sports” speakers who spoke from the perspective of lesbian women.
“And shame on you for using lesbian politics as a front for your transphobia because this lesbian has had plenty of girlfriends with penises,” she said.
The moderator then instructed the speakers to “please make your comments to the board. That’s what we’re here to hear.”

One female athlete embroiled in this recently talked about how she was basically tricked into sharing a bed and even living with a teammate who she did not know was a biological male.

Former SJSU volleyball player Brooke Slusser has spoken out about her struggles after discovering her roommate Blaire Fleming was secretly transgender.
Slusser and Fleming shared a four-bedroom apartment in Santa Clara, California and became close friends beginning in 2023. But Slusser now says she didn’t know she was living with a biological male and that had she been aware, she would have behaved differently.
Speaking to Fox, Slusser said: ‘You find out you’re just chilling in a bed with a man that you have no idea about… I was unknowingly sharing a bed at that time with a man.
‘Watching movies snuggled up in bed, like, all the normal things you’d think girls do in an apartment, like, my bathroom is across the hall from my bedroom and I’m going back and forth and everyone’s out doing their thing, and I probably would have covered up more.
‘I would have changed everything about what I was doing in that apartment if I would have known that it was a man. So it’s just hard to fully say I can grasp all of that when it was almost two years of me living with this situation.’

Why would it come up? The person presented as a woman, and presumably never went naked in the apartment’s common areas, so how would she know that he was secretly a man? Had she known she would probably not have agreed to live with him, but certainly would have been more careful.

Many women who participate in sports feel it is unfair to have to compete against great big powerful men who are stronger than themselves.
