FBI Raids Home, Office of Los Angeles School Superintendent

FBI Raids Home, Office of Los Angeles School Superintendent

Pattern? A cloud hovered over Carvalho in Miami when the Miami-Dade school system’s inspector general investigated his nonprofit in 2020

The FBI confirmed to The Los Angeles Times that agents raided the office and home of Los Angeles Unified School District Superintendent Alberto Carvalho.

LAUSD officials said that authorities notified the district of the investigation. They are cooperating with the FBO.

The search included Carvalho’s home in Miami, where he served as superintendent in 2022.

“We searched a residence in Southwest Ranches today as part of this matter and have since cleared the scene,” Jim Marshall, spokesman for the Miami-Dade FBI Office, according to The Miami Herald.

Marshall said the FBI did not search the Miami-Dade County Public Schools headquarters.

The affidavits remain sealed, and no agents divulged information about the case.

However, the agents who spoke with The Los Angeles Times said that the case “specifically involves Carvalho.”

Interesting.

People will scream that President Donald Trump’s administration targeted Carvalho due to his criticizing its immigration policies.

Carvalho described the policies as “immoral, unethical, and illegal” in September.

The left will ignore that a cloud hovered over Carvalho in Miami when the Miami-Dade school system’s inspector general investigated his nonprofit in 2020:

Carvalho had helped solicit a $1.57-million donation from an online instruction company for a foundation that Carvalho oversees. The company had a contract pending with the district. Once hired, the company provided an online platform that was mired in problems and quickly scrapped, the Miami Herald reported.

The inspector general couldn’t find any “actual violations,” but the move created “the appearance of impropriety.”

The office recommended that the organization return the donation.

That’s not what happened.

The nonprofit foundation handed out $100 gift certificates to most of the Miami-Dade County public school teachers.

The Los Angeles Times mentioned Carvalho’s investigation in Miami. The Miami Herald left out the detail.

“A cloud hovered over Carvalho in Miami.”

Looking at his photo, I’m guessing that it’s hair spray.

Not trying to hijack comments, but does LI have the story behind Project Phd getting axed?

They are cooperating with the FBO.
A fixed base operator?

Also, not very surprising about any bigwig in LA.

Fuzzy, we would really dig an article about Mexico and cartel violence…just saying.

As a product of the LAUSD, I can tell you that this school district has been a mess for decades now. Reading scores are consistently low, and dropout rates are through the roof.

I graduated from University HS in W LA in 1963 when it was the 2nd-highest-rated HS in the country. It also had a breathtakingly beautiful campus built on the side of a hill with a brook running through what had originally been an Indian campground. The last time I was on the campus, it was run down, there was no money for groundskeeping, and it was surrounded by fencing, whether to keep people in or out, I don’t know which. More than half of the students are from other school districts because of busing, and needless to say, it is no longer rated number 2 in the nation.

He was a champion for Obama’s project to keep blacks in school instead of being charged with felonies. It was supposed to be an effort to stop the flow of bad seeds to prison in their teens. The results were horrific wherever it was implemented. Teens of all colors now could run roughshod over the other students knowing the only result was a “good talking too”. That program accelerated the decline of our public schools. Obama has turned out to be the agent for our rapid decline. He and Holder planned it and saw it implemented. They created the racial tension in order to create this and many other plans to foment discord. You can’t hate them enough.

I’m glad you can admit it failed. Most of us knew it would fail from the start. Not holding kids and parents accountable for behavior in and out of school is a disaster in the making. And I’m convinced it was calculated to disrupt and destroy our school system.
