Iranian Regime Declares Israel, U.S. Military “Legitimate Targets” if Trump Orders Strike

Iranian Regime Declares Israel, U.S. Military “Legitimate Targets” if Trump Orders Strike

“U.S. bases and ships will be our legitimate target.”

While the Islamic Guard (IRGC) and foreign fighters massacre peaceful protesters in Iran, the Khamenei regime has threatened to attack Israel and the U.S. military and commercial shipping in the region if President Donald Trump orders a strike on Iranian targets. On Sunday, Iran’s parliamentary speaker declared that the U.S. and Israel would be “legitimate targets” in case of an American strike.

Earlier this week, President Donald Trump cautioned that if the regime forces “start killing people,” the U.S. will “hit them really hard.”

Iran has so far decided to ignore President Trump’s warnings and has toughened its stance. The regime has unleashed foreign fighters, such as members of the Lebanese terrorist group Hezbollah, to crush the popular uprising, according to media reports.  Defying U.S. warnings, the Iranian military is also gearing up for the crackdown. “Iran’s army vowed Saturday to join the crackdown,” The Wall Street Journal reported.

Reuters reports the latest Iranian threat:

Tehran threatened on Sunday to retaliate against Israel and U.S. military bases in the event of U.S. strikes on Iran, issuing the warning as Israeli sources said Israel was on high alert for the possibility of any U.S. intervention.

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, speaking in parliament on Sunday, warned against “a miscalculation”.

“Let us be clear: in the case of an attack on Iran, the occupied territories (Israel) as well as all U.S. bases and ships will be our legitimate target,” said Qalibaf, a former commander in Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guards.(…)

Three Israeli sources, who were present for Israeli security consultations over the weekend, said Israel was on a high-alert footing, but did not elaborate on what that meant.

Amid the Iranian threats, the Israeli armed forces were on high alert. “The Israel Defense Forces said senior commanders held multiple assessments over the weekend as they monitored developments in Iran,” Israeli TV channel i24NEWS reported on Sunday. “The IDF said it has strengthened defensive preparedness and operational capabilities and warned it would respond with force if necessary to protect Israeli citizens.”

Meanwhile, the U.S. military has been briefing President Trump on options for striking Iran, news reports indicate. “President Trump has been briefed in recent days on new options for military strikes in Iran as he considers following through on his threat to attack the country for cracking down on protesters,” The New York Times reported, citing military officials.

President Trump is considering his response, Axios reported Sunday morning:

President Trump is considering several options for supporting the protests in Iran and weakening the regime, two U.S. officials tell Axios. (…)

“All options are on the table for President Trump but no decision has been made,” a U.S. official said.

A second U.S. official said the discussions had included military strikes but most of the options presented to the president at this stage are “not kinetic.”

The officials acknowledged it’s hard to predict which option Trump will choose.

As the uprising entered its third week, the regime has reportedly killed hundreds of protesters. Protests “have since spread to more than 100 cities and towns across all of Iran’s provinces,” the BBC reported Saturday night. “Hundreds of protesters are believed to have been killed or injured, and many more detained.

Other media outlets place the death toll much higher. “The internet shutdown that started on January 8 have made it impossible to obtain a full picture of events on the ground. However, the volume and consistency of incoming accounts suggest that lethal force is being widely used to disperse protesters,” the UK-based Iran International reported. “The most conservative estimates indicate that at least 2,000 people have been killed over the past 48 hours.”

Germany’s DW TV quoted eyewitnesses, saying that “Iranian hospitals” are ‘totally overwhelmed’ by the number of killed and injured and people being brought in, according to reports emerging from the crisis-gripped nation.”

Based on recent events, it’s a question just how effective any Iranian actions might be. Sending high explosives into a military building via a precision guided bomb is an art the US armed forces have pretty well perfected, and Israel is very good (and getting better with lasers) at intercepting missiles.
.

Someone explain to me how this is different to what I’d already the case with Iran vs Israel, USA and everyone else? 🤷‍♂️

Let’s starting some stuff being blown up. Time to unleash the Jews!

The DNC has just announced triumphant success in their search for a VP nominee even stupider than Tim Walz.

Ummm, duh? I mean, if we attack them then naturally our military is a valid target for retaliation. That’s how the world works. Not really a revelation. It might be a little bit of tit-for-tat-for-tit, but it is a little anti-climactic. And you guys used to be such drama queens.

The mullahs have been attacking our military through their proxies for nearly half a century. Maybe they need a taste of direct action. They should ask their goat-fu*king bit*h Solamani how that will work out.

I guess our legislative bodies are too busy trading stocks based on classified intel to even make a policy statement.

Send in mosad

How about we trade our protesters who hate our country for Iran’s protesters who hate their current regime. Seems like a win win.

Threaten all you want, my dear mad ayatollahs, but please observe what happened in Venezuela, and how the Great Satan disrupted the entire command and control the Maduro/Cuban regime planned to use to repel the evil gringos.

Think we can’t do it again?

As opposed to now, when they regard the USA and Israel as illegitimate targets?! They’ve been targeting both for decades! So what would change?

I came to post the same question. And we were not already a target then was Trump’s last round of bombings an act of war?

How about bombing the **** out of Qom?

ztakddot in reply to Milhouse. | January 11, 2026 at 8:51 pm

Well Qom is supposed to be a holy city (whatever that is) so bombing it wouldn’t be a good look I would think since we want regime change and not to alienate all Shiites,

Surely there are negotiations going on for a safe exile of the regime leaders. I hope that the Regime will accept that path. Iran’s military was in poor shape before the Israeli bombings last summer and while they might be working on nukes, I can’t imagine they have any delivery mechanisms for them. China and Russia would love to help, no doubt, but surely they don’t dare send troops, and I doubt if they can even airlift arms into the country for the regime. So, perhaps with a little symbolic encouragement, they’ll skip.

I would like to see the U.S. act in the form of a massive low level flyover of B-52s over Tehran (supported by 535’s for air suppression, of course).

To our pig processing centers…. keep those pig skins ready to wrap up the mullahs and their army. Any surviving need to executed by women. Leave those 72 virgins alone.

There is no evidence for the idea that Moslems have a dread of being buried in pigskins, or a belief that a person so buried can’t get into Jannah. All the evidence is that Moslems have no such belief, so threatening it is useless and doing it is pointless and petty.

As National Lampoon once said, they will tow an F-14 down to the beach and fire an air to air missle at our nuclear powered aircraft carrier 20 miles away.

Doesn’t seem wise to taunt addition opponents when your own people are coming for you.

BTW, has any checked in on the BBC to see how they are handling the potential loss of their beloved moolahs?

Jaundiced Observer | January 12, 2026 at 2:55 pm

Lemme see.

It’s perfectly fine for the American national government to use lethal force against unlawful (as defined by said government) demonstrators.

The Iranian government may not.

WTF?
