Trump: ‘Israel and Hamas Have Both Signed Off on the First Phase of Our Peace Plan’
I’ll believe it when all the hostages come home.
President Donald Trump announced that Israel and Hamas agreed to Phase One of the peace plan:
I am very proud to announce that Israel and Hamas have both signed off on the first Phase of our Peace Plan. This means that ALL of the Hostages will be released very soon, and Israel will withdraw their Troops to an agreed upon line as the first steps toward a Strong, Durable, and Everlasting Peace. All Parties will be treated fairly! This is a GREAT Day for the Arab and Muslim World, Israel, all surrounding Nations, and the United States of America, and we thank the mediators from Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey, who worked with us to make this Historic and Unprecedented Event happen. BLESSED ARE THE PEACEMAKERS!
DONALD J. TRUMP
PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

Hamas still has 48 hostages and 21 are believed to still be alive.
I will believe any peace plan has been agreed on when the hostages, dead and alive, have come home.
We do not have all the details of the peace plan. From Fox News:
The exact terms of the agreement – which Israeli and Hamas negotiators traveled to Egypt to hash out on Monday – remain unclear. Though under the original agreement, Hamas would have to completely disarm in exchange for Israel’s military operation to end, more humanitarian aid for Palestinians would be pushed into the enclave, and planning the reconstruction of Gaza could begin.
Hamas, under the terms, would also have been granted “amnesty” for those who willingly give up their arms, and once all the hostages have been returned, Israel would release “250 life sentence prisoners plus 1,700 Gazans who were detained after Oct. 7th, 2023.”
All the hostages were also supposed to be freed within 72-hours of an agreement being reached – though Hamas on Saturday signaled this may be unrealistic as it claims some of the deceased are believed to be buried under rubble.
Hamas appeared to agree to part of the original terms presented by the Trump administration. But it also signaled over the weekend that it had concerns over its disarmament and the trustworthiness of Israel not to re-engage with its military ambitions once the hostages are returned.
The next move:
News per Senior WH official:
The deal goes to the Israeli cabinet tomorrow. Once they vote yes, Israel has to withdraw to the line which should take under 24 hours.
Then, a 72 hour clock begins, and Hamas will try to go earlier if possible. The WH assessment is that hostages will begin getting released on Monday.

Hamas exists for one reason only. This is the flaw is any “peace deal”
I do not doubt Trump’s word… but proof will be in the pudding. There is no reason to trust Hamas
I don’t fault #47 for trying, obviously, but, I do think it’s unrealistic to expect a Muslim terrorist group that is committed by word, deed and Islamic scripture to waving perpetual Islamic “holy war” terrorism against Jews, Christians and other non-Muslims, to simply lay down their weapons and walk away.
Any pretense by Hamas at disarmament will be a feint to re-group and attack at some opportunistic future date.
The only thing that should be up for discussion is how to best destroy Hamas and obtain its unconditional surrender.
And, until the corrosive role of the utterly greasy, duplicitous and two-faced Qatari regime in sheltering Hamas leaders and in lavishly funding sundry Muslim terrorist outfits around the world is also addressed, nothing will have substantively changed.
My hope: This peace deal will finally end hostilities.
My expectation: Muslim terrorists can no more change their behavior than a leopard can change his spots. They will gleefully and lustfully kill at the next opportunity just as their prophet commands them to.
Yes. Next up- how do we halt and reverse the attempted islamification here in the US? In the Western world?
Hamas does not want peace. They want to kill Jews and have a never ending war. That is their whole point of existing. They are not the real partner here at all. The question really is, who is the one agreeing to this, is it Qatar? If it is Qatar then something positive may happen, as they are the money. I have no doubt that the other islamist nations around Israel do not want the palestinians or hamas-the evil they helped create and nurture is very scary to them. They also of course want to be seen as getting some kind of great victory but without having any consequences or contribution. Frankly Jordan, Egypt, Syria and Lebanon are all basket case countries that are more dependent on Israel then they want the world to know. Only Qatar and Turkey actually matter here, so if it’s them Israel is signing the peace deal with, we’ll see if any real steps to dismantling hamas will be made. I’m not sure what incentive Qatar and Turkey have for ridding us of hamas either then Qatar has realized they can’t play both sides anymore and turkey is desperately trying to take the place of Iran as the big dog. Likely the US has promised them something to get them to come on board. Also notable is how Saudia Arabia is being totally silent here. The Muslim world turned palestinians into their excuse for everything just like the rest of the world is now learning to do. Feel like killing and being uber violent, well just do it for the palestinians and everything is cool. Can the Muslim world exist without their precious palestinian puppet? Can Greta Van Stupid find a new cause? Stay tuned, and let’s all pray this isn’t the Oslo Accords III.
Have the arabs broken the deal yet? It’s already been a couple of hours.
The list of what we do not know is frankly endless.
1. Is there a force that will be going in to remove Hamas?
2. Is there an alternative government that will takeover?
3. Has Hamas actually agreed to disarm which in practical terms mean exile?
I am pessimistic but if Trump managed to convince people………
However I have a sneaking suspicion Netanyahu just realized further war means pariah state status and did not want to occupy Gaza and surrendered for the remaining 20 hostages and needed Trump to give him cover.
Netanyahu actually was a good peacetime leader of Israel with a great relationship with Donald Trump so it is easy to see why Trump has given the cover by making this the Trump plan.
However it is also clear Netanyahu lost the war. Pixies do not exist and if they did I highly doubt fairies would want anything to do with Gaza.
The situation for most of the two years has been Netanyahu desperately looking for someone else to occupy Gaza once Hamas is cleared and him finding no buyers and being unwilling to have a temporary occupation of any kind and deciding an occasional strike by air drone or raid by soldiers followed by withdrawal was the path to victory.
I hope to be proven wrong and learn that there will be very real disarmament which in practice means exile and a government along the lines of Donald Trump/Netanyahu’s plan will be set up.
However I highly doubt it.
I am waiting for the man on the streets of Gaza interview.
I would not invest in the Gaza Real Estate Investment Trust.
Even if by some miracle Hamas actually disarmed and surrendered, 250 hardcore terrorists who earned life sentences, plus 1700 other terrorists released to heroes’ welcomes and free to go back to terrorism with some other group, is not worth it. I’m sorry, the hostages’ lives are not worth more than the lives that will be lost by releasing these people. Israel has already seen this happen several times, and yet it hasn’t learned its lesson.
Would Trump ever countenance such a prisoner release in the USA?!
It’s a harsh calculus, but the math is correct. Bibi was right when he set out to destroy Hamas. Preventing him from doing so is a mistake. All Hamas needs to do to “win” is survive. I understand that if Hamas had been wiped out, it would have been replaced by some other, quite similar, organization. But the point is not to stop terrorists, it’s to let them know that they aren’t allowed to win. “Peace” with Hamas means Hamas won, because they killed Jews and survived. This only encourages terrorists, encouragement they should not be given, even if they can’t be discouraged.
Did he set out to destroy Hamas?
The only thing I saw was he wanted some fairies to come save Israel while doing some airstrikes and raids. He had no business potentially making Israel a pariah state forever in order to play pretend
To put it this way
Hamas knew it couldn’t militarily defeat Israel here are the goals it had
1. Martyrdom-As much as humanly possible as many as possible
2. Maximum collatoral damage to damage Israel’s reputation
3. As much economic and political damage to Israel as possible
4. Survival in Gaza
It looks like it achieved all goals. The only justification for any war is victory and for over a year I watched as it became clearer and clearer that Netanyahu was not looking for one.
Exactly. Daniel Pipes has accurately diagnosed Israel’s chronic problem, which is its refusal to win. Until Israel decides once and for all that it wants to win, it can’t.
See, for instance, here.
Unfortunately they need American military equipment
If they didn’t, they would have finished the job
No, it’s not equipment. The problem is that they don’t want to win. They’re convinced beyond all reason that the Arabs can be bought off with the right combination of bribes and flattery. It’s the same attitude the Labor Zionist establishment had for decades towards their own Arab citizens. I remember Rabbi Kahane writing about this back in the ’70s. If people had listened to him we wouldn’t be in this mess.
Lets be blunt.
Netanyahu lost the war because his strategy was “The King of the Fairies will send magical pixies to do the occupation of Gaza if I destroy enough Hamas positions and that is how we will win”.
He did not have any amount of reality for how he would win, predictably he lost the war.
I am glad that at least Sleepy Joe had non-senile adults who knew a lot more about warfare than Netanyahu does.
Even if Netanyahu had won what he sacrificed by extending the war is devastating.
To be a little clearer
I think Netanyahu did want victory but was unwilling to pay for it with a temporary occupation/reconstruction/nation building.
I also think he was delusional.
He isn’t the only one. A lot of the Israeli left are convinced that Israel’s wounds will disappear and that Israel will grow as strong as it was October 6th.
This is a mistake and I predict it will fail, ultimately. The Hamassholes will simply start rebuilding their tunnels and infrastructure and do it again.
Something had to give, and now the hostage issue will be removed. There is a real opportunity for Arabs to step up and do the right thing with their brethren that together make up Palestinians. If so, there will be much support and these people will thrive, undeservedly.
Surely, the ceasefire could be under preferable terms. However, the status quo served no one. Israel is likely under no illusions and it’s enemies well know its reach and power. To say it lost, when you look at the state of its enemies, is a complete misnomer.
The Hamas goal was hurting Israel in Western and world public opinion, and for them personally to seek martyrdom, and survive as an organization.
Sorry but Israel is if not a pariah state a millimeter from that status at best, Hamas still in charge in Gaza and appears that Israel just agreed that will happen, Hamas gets everything lost replaced by Western donors again….
Sorry but Netanyahu had no business extending the war without the goal being destroy Hamas.
Even with the endgame of Hamas destroyed the value of destroying Hamas vs Gen Z having Israel as the enemy they hate most and a symbol of evil……….that is debatable at best.
Ending up with a deal they could have secured from Erdogan before the start of military operations is a disgrace and the definition of failure.
Too many backseat drivers.
Hamas got everything it wanted, and Israel got a concession Erdogan could have given them October 8th when he was in a total panic and telling Hamas not even he could save them.
Netanyahu used the stupidest strategy in military history and got predictable results.
Gen Z despises Israel more than you despise communism, the American consensus on Israel is dead with Democrats being against it and even some conservatives (i.e. Megyn Kelly) now turning and with anti-Semitism growing on the right.
European public opinion has turned, France is now an opponent instead of ally to Israel.
World opinion despises everything Israeli.
The most likely next Republican presidential nominee is a man deeply associated with people who hate Israel absolutely (i.e. Joe Rogan and Tucker Carlson).
Looking at what you are losing and gaining is the absolute minimum any war leader is required to do.
If Netanyahu got this result in an American war as an American president I would demand he be impeached and not care if there was a crime.
There should have been no war because the hostages could have come home two years ago in return for Israel giving the concessions it ended up providing.
Reagan’s motto when negotiating with Russia was “Trust, but verify”.
But Russians could – at the least – be trusted to love the lives of their children more than they hated us.
With Islamic Supremacists such as Hamas (and their followers in Gaza) – or the current regime in Iran – we can certainly trust – trust that that’s not true.
However vile Hamas is and however temporary the current “peace” deal with Hamas turns out to be – the return of the living (and remains of the murdered dead) may well be worth a ceasefire. Given that the scorpion that is Hamas will inevitably be unable to refrain from stinging again it WILL inevitably be temporary.
However, if Islamo-Supremists (like Hamas) can be relied upon to never honor a deal with Infidels (such as ourselves) – which they can be –
The Gipper’s motto is properly and fairly adjusted, when it comes to Muslim terrorists:
“Don’t trust, and verify.”
You know, for a guy the left was ABSOLUTE sure was going to kick off WWIII, he seems to be doing his upmost to end wars around the world and bring people together.
The real challenge here will be for the Peace Now ™ goons on the left because now they are going to get peace. Although I suspect when these intellectual titans say peace now they really mean “kill all jews now”. So peace will be the last thing they want.
Will this stop the rabid “Free Palestine” protesters and activists? Will our college campuses and city streets finally be civil?
Let’s hope so, but I doubt it.
I doubt it because the supposed ceasefire now people; you know those luminaries like Cynthia Nixon, and Mark Ruffolo (whoever the hell he is) are awfully quiet right now. The free free palestine kids on campus are screaming for hamas to not take the deal and were out celebrating Oct 7th, 2 year anniversary just like they celebrated on Oct 8 2023. They don’t want a free palestine they want a dead Israel. Anyone who thought otherwise was deluded. My thought is that they will continue to complain that this “deal,” is capitulation to western apartheid or some nonsense word salad that includes white supremacy in it. Will they loose some traction with this supposed peace deal, possibly? The shininess of the conflict will be lessened when they can’t scream ongoing genocide anymore or quote made up death statistics. But the evil they have normalized and celebrated is still there, so no I don’t think it ends the rabid antisemitism we have seen globally. They’ll just come up with a new way to describe it and justify it as vengeance or who knows what else? They’ve gotten a taste of power and blood and these losers with no meaning or purpose in their life, like it. Palestinians are their avatar and hamas is their mascot. Que Susan Surrandon and Roger Waters, their time is still at hand. If only you could get these brainless wonders to care about Sudan, and actual genocide and mass starvation. But hey that would require Jews somehow being involved.
It’s interesting. I just wish I could believe it’s really happening, because trusting Hamas is the sort of thing that gets people killed.
Does Trump actually believe that? Does Netanyahu? That there will be a “Strong, Durable, and Everlasting Peace” with the Hamas terrorists and their Arab supporters? Apparently so. Never thought that Trump or Netanyahu were such fools. But here we are with them attempting yet again to make peace with those whose only goal is the destruction of Israel and the elimination of the Jews This will simply allow Hamas time to regroup, rearm and plan further violence against Israel and Israeli citizens. Oh, it may not happen tomorrow, the next week or even next month but the terroristic violence will recommence the minute Hamas and their supporters feel they are sufficiently prepared to take on Israel once again. And when that happens I’ll be hard pressed to have any sympathy for Israel’s plight as it is so apparent that Netanyahu hasn’t learned his lessons about dealing with terrorists. Nor has Trump.
Doubt Israel and Hamas will even get through the First Phase of Trump’s bigly wonderful Peace Plan®. But here we are and there you go.
Even Qatar is telling Hamas it’s over. Hamas only has the Iranian regime, which cannot control its own airspace.
And America college campi (hat tip to Rush) is no help.
The Iranian regime is worth fook all now that they have no assets in Lebannon thanks to Hesbollah having their bollocks removed by the juices, no money and no influence in the region.
The pro-Palestine campus activists, Representatives Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar, received their ceasefire, yet they are mysteriously silent. Strange, isn’t it?
It’s almost as if peace was never truly about a ceasefire.
This may appear calloused — and certainly will to the families and survivors of the hostages — but Israel’s long term security (indeed, existence) should be its primary purpose; release of the hostages, while desirable, must be secondary. I fear that this deal, rather than providing a lasting peace, will result only in a temporary cessation of hostilities, during which Hamas or some similar organization will rearm and once again threaten Israel’s existence.
I hope I’m wrong — but we’ve seen this show before.
Dont go there!!
these pos might be setting up trump etc to being attacked
