Report: Democrats Planning to Oust Fetterman

Report: Democrats Planning to Oust Fetterman

It won’t work.

Axios reported that the Democratic Party has begun searching for candidates to challenge Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) in the 2028 primary.

From the report:

The big picture: Democrats who could run against Fetterman include Reps. Brendan Boyle and Chris Deluzio and former Rep. Conor Lamb, according to multiple political insiders in Pennsylvania.

They hate Fetterman because he supports Israel and has no problem conversing with people who have different political views.

I bet it infuriates them when Fetterman criticizes his party, too.

Fetterman barely aligns with Trump. Just because he supports Trump, gives Trump credit when he does something well, or speaks to others, doesn’t mean he’s a moderate.

Fetterman is not a moderate by far:

The other side: When Axios began reporting on this story, Fetterman texted, “Enjoy your clickbait!”

  • Asked a follow-up question, Fetterman said, “Please do not contact.”
  • Fetterman later shared an article about a report from a conservative group showing that he is among “the least Trump-aligned Democratic lawmakers” in Pennsylvania, voting with the president 6% of the time. He highlighted that the analysis showed Boyle voting with Trump nearly 14% of the time.
  • “ACTUAL NUMBERS,” Fetterman said. “less clicks.”

I remember the left losing their minds because Fetterman went out to dinner with Republican Dave McCormick after he won his election last year.

God forbid Fetterman welcomes his counterpart, opens up to dialogue, and establishes a working relationship to help their state.

Additionally, a primary challenge against Fetterman is unlikely to succeed.

Data shows that those in Pennsylvania like him:

Zoom in: A majority of Democratic voters in Pennsylvania disapprove of the way Fetterman is handling his job, according to a September Quinnipiac poll.

  • “There’s a possibility of an opening in 2028, certainly, given the trajectory he is on with Democrats,” said J.J. Balaban, a Philadelphia-based Democratic strategist.
  • There has been rampant speculation in political circles that Fetterman may switch parties, but he has said repeatedly he will not leave the Democratic Party.

Zoom out: Fetterman enjoys a positive approval rating overall with voters in his state, which Trump has won twice.

  • As Democrats look for a way out of the wilderness after losing last year’s elections, they have been vigorously debating whether to welcome more moderate and conservative people into the party.
  • Pennsylvania’s 2028 Senate primary will test the size of their big tent.

I don’t hide my respect for Fetterman. I do not agree with him the majority of the time. It’s his respect for others and his willingness to speak to those on the other side.

Comments

Straight-up baiting. Fetterman stays after his meds get readjusted and the koolade ration increased.
I don’t trust that guy one bit more than a stray cur.

Just BS trying to boost Lurch.

It shocks me that so many people are taken in by Fetterman’s act.

He SAYS a lot of based things, but when his vote actually matters he votes straight line Democrat every time. Just like Manchin, he will never, EVER be the actual deciding vote in Republican’s favor.

When he votes against The Party, it is because he has PERMISSION to do it.

Today’s marxist infused Democrat Party is not interested in compromise or coming together to solve problems. They want power and a one party state.

“It’s his respect for others and his willingness to speak to those on the other side.”

    Pure heresy!

Fetterman has been a pleasant surprise after his initial victory. He is a committed liberal. However his rational statements about President Trump makes the communist base apoplectic. I would rather he not switch parties. He would just be another Collins/Murkowski.

Did Zionism heal the damage from his strokes?

“ACTUAL NUMBERS,” Fetterman said. “less clicks.”

Exercising umbrage about one of my current “issues”:

When did the word “fewer” disappear from the language? It seems that “fewer” has been replaced with “less”. Admittedly there are fewer letters in “fewer” than there are in “less”, but the latter just seems less accurate in such usage.

They’ve destroyed pronouns. Why not other parts of speech as well?

According to some (many?), accuracy is overrated.

I dislike vandalism, but two of my favorites have been:

    1) A sign on an express checkout at the grocery store that said “10 items or less”, where someone used a Sharpie to cross out “less” and write fewer. I don’t know how he got the Sharpie to do that, what with all the growling and barking.

    2) A “For Lease” sign on a building in a light-industrial part with “Navidad” written below.

I think the Fetterman could switch parties and still get elected.

He doesn’t have to toe the line 100% or be a Trump bootlicker. It would be victory enough to have his seat on the right side of the ledger.

He isn’t a Republican. He could go completely independent though. He would still end up caucusing with the democrats. It is a travesty the way Congress is actually run as if the constitution mandated two parties, one democrat and the other republican.

      Congress?
Did you know that up until about ten years ago, two — and only two — parties’ conventions were paid for by your tax dollars, while other partied had to pay for their own?
Did you know that the national presidential debates were arranged and controlled by two — and only two — parties, and have a threshold for participation sufficiently flexible that it mysteriously gets raised every time any third party shows signs of exceeding the old threshold? And that’s why you haven’t seen a third party on that stage since Ross Perot, and you never will again.

Yup. Knew that. I say bring back the Whigs and make them wear them. Better yet bring back the Bull Moose Party (even though it was progressive) because I like the name,

Forget the progressives — bring back Rhode Island’s Cool Moose Party. It was the brainchild of a man who lived in LI’s hometown (and partly in the next town over), and it actually did win a number of local offices, changed the state’s restrictive primary laws, AND capture guaranteed ballot status for a number of years.

“Healey’s campaigns often prioritized eliminating waste, expanding voter choice, and anti-corruption measures.”

The Gentle Grizzly in reply to ztakddot. | October 16, 2025 at 8:35 pm

What about Gracie Allen’s Surprise Party?

I grew up not far from Braddock, PA.

Fetterman is classic PA Democrat (and also classic PA republican from western PA tbh).

If he gets knocked out in a primary, the Dems will lose the seat.

See this post about Fetterman at the Kennedy Center, and the two excellent videos therein.

As always, the Democrats should be very careful what they wish for.

The vile, stupid and evil Dhimmi-crats:

“We can’t have that uppity, Israel-loving, Hamas-hating Jewboy in the U.S. Senate!”

ztakddot in reply to guyjones. | October 16, 2025 at 1:20 pm

He’s not Jewish. He was raised Catholic. Who knows what he is now,

guyjones in reply to ztakddot. | October 17, 2025 at 10:47 am

Okay; I thought I had read somewhere that Fetterman was Jewish. Either way, his staunch, pro-Israel stance is laudable and morally correct.

Actually his greatest fault is that instead of opposing Trump 24/7 he will point out his successes and would be willing to work with him. There is no greater sin.

Ah yes, the famous Democrat big tent. First Lieberman was cast out, then Sinema and now Fetterman. Of course they all continued to caucus with the Democrats.

This goes far beyond his support for Israel.

Having a Democratic Senator reject the entire narrative and reason for being of the Democratic Party is a major ideological threat.
