Kat Abughazaleh is an anti-Israel activist running for Congress in Illinois’ 9th District. She’s raised a boatload of money, $1.5 million for the cycle as of mid-October.
She also apparently assumed she had Democrat Activist Privilege, particularly in Chicago, and could interfere in federal ICE actions without legal repercussion.

A federal grand jury in Chicago indicted six people, including a Democratic congressional candidate and other local politicians, on charges of interfering with a federal agent during a chaotic protest outside an immigration detention site last month.
Some Illinois Democrats accused the Justice Department of singling out President Trump’s political opponents for prosecution with the indictment, which was unsealed on Wednesday. The top federal prosecutor in Chicago defended the charges as upholding the rule of law….
The charges unsealed on Wednesday related to a Sept. 26 protest outside an Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility in the suburb of Broadview, Ill. Demonstrators have gathered repeatedly at the Broadview site, sometimes blocking access to the driveway and engaging in physical confrontations with federal agents….
The charging document asserts that the defendants were part of a larger group that tried to block a federal agent from driving to the ICE facility that morning. The indictment said members of the group banged on the vehicle, stood in front of it, pushed against it and damaged a side mirror and a windshield wiper. Someone in the group etched the word “PIG” into the vehicle, the charging document said.
All six defendants were charged with interfering with a federal agent and conspiring with one another to interfere with an agent. Both charges can carry multiyear prison sentences….
Those indicted included Kat Abughazaleh, a Democratic candidate for Congress; Brian Straw, an Oak Park, Ill., village trustee; and Cat Sharp, a candidate for the Cook County Board of Commissioners.
She’s crying “free speech” on social media. Nope, you don’t have a right to block an ICE vehicle.

I understand the point you’re trying to make, but, precision in language is important. You can fairly write “Dhimmi-crat Jews,” but, making a sweeping, presumptuous, generalizing and untrue statement as you do is both factually inaccurate and unfair.
And, as if there isn’t a substantial cohort of Christian Dhimmi-crats, in NYC and elsewhere, who aren’t supporting piece of excrement candidates, such as Mamdani, and his vile ilk?

I’m curious. Is there a reason the USA in the 1930s should have taken Jewish refugees from Germany? Surely they were Europe’s responsibility to take in.
When he stood up to the St Louis’s attempted emotional blackmail, and insisted that any German passengers who were afraid to go back to Germany were Europe’s problem, the various European countries ended up dividing them among them. None of them had to go back to Germany. Is there a reason why the USA should instead have taken them all in, just because they unilaterally sailed into MIami harbor and demanded entry?

In the 1930s life for German Jews kept getting tougher, and after Kristalnacht it got even tougher, and increasing numbers decided enough was enough and they should get out before it got any worse. So they were looking for places to go. All of Europe was available, but no one there wanted them, so they tried other places. The St Louis was full of refugees who had bought visas from corrupt employees of the Cuban embassy in Germany, but when they got to Cuba they found that all those visas had been cancelled, so they sailed to Miami and tried to guilt FDR into just letting them all in. FDR said no, this is Europe’s problem, not America’s, let the Europeans figure it out. And they did, with each European country taking a certain number, so that none of them had to go back to Germany.
Now tell me why FDR was wrong. If he’d let the St Louis unload its passengers in Miami, next month there would be ten more shiploads, or a hundred, trying the same thing. As we’ve seen in the last few decades with boat people.
Why would they need to bother? If Germany wanted spies in the USA it could just send them normally, on tourist visas, business visas, diplomatic visas, just like any intelligence agency does. The CIA doesn’t send its spies to other countries in refugee ships! It has no need to. It’s not even as if German-US relations were hostile; the two countries were on friendly terms and there was constant travel between them, plenty of traffic in which to insert some spies. Most German spies were probably on diplomatic visas working at the German embassy and consulates, just like most American spies in Germany were at the US embassy.

You’ve both completely misunderstood that tweet. Look at the date. It’s from 2023, and is her reaction to the Trump indictment in Georgia. She’s gloating about it and mischaracterizing the Trump defense as being that he didn’t know what he was doing was a crime.
Watch the clips she presents. They’re of Trump supporters explaining that it’s not a crime to question election results that you actually think are wrong, and to seek to prove them wrong and overturn them. Which is what happened in Georgia.
The rule is that ignorance of the law is indeed not an excuse, but ignorance of the facts almost always is. Right or wrong, Trump believed there were hundreds of thousands of invalid Dem votes to be found, if only Raffensperger would look. So it was completely legal for him to ask him to get off his backside and do so. It doesn’t matter whether his belief was correct; it’s enough that it is what he believed. And that’s what all those people were saying. But she boiled it down to “ignorance of the law”, and mocked it. Now she’s on the other side of that.
She will plead “Not Guilty”, go to trial and be aquitted by a “jury of her peers”, meaning 12 equally insane Northern District of Illinois residents.
