Chicago Police Ordered to Stand Down as ICE Attacked

“Trying to intimidate law enforcement will not slow us down. The mission will not stop.”

A new Fox News report has confirmed what federal officials warned Saturday: that Chicago police officers were ordered not to respond when federal agents under attack called for help outside the city.

According to multiple federal and Chicago law enforcement sources, an internal dispatch sent by the Chicago Police Department’s Chief of Patrol instructed all units to stand down as ICE and Border Patrol agents were being boxed in, rammed, and surrounded by a violent crowd in Broadview, Illinois.

“PLEASE CHIEF OF PATROL NO UNITS WILL RESPOND TO THIS AS RELATED FROM 04-Oc5-2025/12:34:44…CALLER IS 1 OF APPROX 30 ARMED PATROL AGENTS (ICE) WHO ARE BEING SURROUNDED BY A LARGE CROWD OF PEOPLE REQUESTING CPD,” read the internal Chicago computer-aided dispatch message obtained by Fox News.

The stand-down order came just as federal agents were trapped by ten vehicles during a chaotic confrontation that left one suspect wounded and several others under arrest. DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin confirmed that an armed woman opened fire on agents after ramming a vehicle, forcing officers to return fire in defense.

“Officers were forced to deploy their weapons and fire defensive shots at an armed U.S. citizen,” McLaughlin said, identifying the shooter as Marimar Martinez, who had previously posted online: “Hey to all my gang let’s f— those motherf—— up, don’t let them take anyone.”

Federal officials have condemned the lack of response from local authorities.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Chicago called the incident “serious” and vowed to prosecute anyone, “including public officials,” who obstructed or endangered federal officers.

Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker, meanwhile, accused the Trump administration of unprecedented aggression against Illinois citizens,” even as DHS described the attackers as domestic terrorists.”

The revelation that Chicago police were explicitly ordered not to assist federal officers has sparked national outrage and heightened scrutiny of Pritzker’s sanctuary policies, policies critics say have turned Illinois into a haven for chaos.

Well, if they aren’t going to help, then tell them to stay the hell out of the way.

I think PRESIDENT Trump just got carte blanche to do what clearly needs to be done in Chicago, courtesy of Gov. Prickster.

it takes a genuine pos to ignore calls from your colleagues when they’re outnumbered and surrounded and an even bigger pos to issue the order to do so—likely some headquarters pogue that’s never had to fight for his life but content to let others risk theirs in his behalf—safe in his sinecure to collect his msm, plate, and pension

Illinois is apparently in a state of insurrection. Federalize the entire state.

I read elsewhere that the CPD is claiming they did not tell their officers to not respond. The memo looks pretty clear to me so that seems to be a lie

Broad view is a separate town. It is not part of Chicago. CPD has no jurisdiction there.

DHS misstated the location where this happened. It happened in the Brighton Park neighborhood of Chicago. The protests that have been widely broadcast are at the ICE facility in the suburb of Broadview.

So… no mutual support agreement between Chicago and Broadview?

Until the next crackerjack judge decides he’s running America

I guess the Marxists run cities are declaring war as well as Antifa Anarchists

Democrats want an incident they can turn into another Kent State.

Either State, County and local LEO agencies are willing to respond to assist their Federal counterparts when asked in extreme situations or those State,.County and local LEO agencies ain’t reliable partners. Where the political leadership or SR politically selected/appointed LEO refuse then it becomes clear Federal LEO will need to be supported by others… such as the NG for a QRF and to assist in basic things like security, setting a perimeter and so on. No whining about heavy handed tactics by those who opposed and prevented local LEO from this role.

Aggressive action by ICE is now mandatory. When surrounded, the refusal to move away from the vehicles will be to shoot on sight.

It is high time that armed insurrectionists are treated as enemies of the state. Dispatch them immediately.

Chief of Dispatch: LET THEM DIE

Let’s go Brandon (Johnson)!

This is completely obscene.

Where’s mayor Daley when you need him

Another America

I am always looking for patterns and reasons. Why, and why now? Do “The Democrats” really view this as a good approach to winning national elections? If so whose vote does this attract to add to their totals? I think nationally this stance is a very bad idea.

However, in Illinois the machine controls the Governorship, and obviously Pritzker bought it. Since he is governor purely for vanity reasons, and knows he can buy (er, be). Governor again for as long as he wants to be. He can pack the ballot counts and win without regard to voter sentiment.

So, I am not sure he gives a damn about the party’s national prospects…he may be acting purely on a personal philosophical view and the good of the voters be damned. But: will “The National Party” allow him to act in a manner adverse to national interests? Could they control him if they wished to? I don’t think so.

I think between Illinois, NYC, and California the National Party finds themselves tied into the saddle of the wild left part of the party. Can they ride that bronco to a win in 2028? I don’t think so but I am so often wrong…

Would this be considered an act of rebellion by Chicago? Can the President declare this to be an insurrection and send in Federal troops?

“The revelation that Chicago police were explicitly ordered not to assist federal officers has sparked national outrage”

I bet it didn’t.
Tune in to any network. Outrage evident? In a pig’s eye.

If your governments failing you replace them.

I saw a video of a gang of protesters actively interfering with an attempt by ICE to take an illegal into custody. They protesters clearly obstructed and bragged about it in a posted video. To my knowledge, they weren’t arrested. I also saw a caravan of vehicles pelted with stones. It reminded me of some anarchy out of Gaza. There better be some serious enforcement here soon.

lefty wants the war

Democrats want someone to be killed so they can use that death for their own political ends. They arent bothered who, just as long as its someone.

As a retired DEA agent with much experience working with local police, this is a disgrace. I know from personal experience that when a fellow law enforcement officer is in trouble, you respond immediately, policy or no policy. Order from a supervisor or no order. This was just such a situation.

I am sure that rank-and-file Chicago PD cops are sick over this.
