A word of encouragement after the murder of Charlie Kirk
“We need Jesus Christ. This nation is sick and it needs a Savior. Jesus is the only way. We need to come back to God as a nation.” — Charlie Kirk
I spoke to many people yesterday. Most all of who have worked or did work in the political world for a long time and I find myself in the company of many others mourning the death of Charlie Kirk.
I have not felt such deep grief and loss since Andrew Breitbart suddenly and unexpectedly passed at a time when we needed him most. He too left behind a wife and family of littles.
It was because of Andrew Breitbart (literally) that I have the life I have today. I have loved to write since I learned how. But he was the one who told me I should tell my story and share the stories of others. So I did. It changed the trajectory of my career, my life’s work, and my purpose.
If you knew Andrew, or even knew of him, he was larger than life. He genuinely and completely cared about everyone in the “movement” (as we used to call it) and gladly gave himself and his time.
His passing spurred untold numbers of people to step up and fill the void. I was one of them. I know dozens more who still, over a decade later, pour all they have into the fight for truth and the future of our great nation. His courage and his legacy live on through those who were greatly impacted by his short time here.
While I’m still struggling to process the brazen and brutal murder of Charlie Kirk, I know that his passing will birth an entire new generation of young people to stand up and fight for our nation, our values, and the God we love.
Everywhere Kirk went, lives were changed. He boldly and passionately declared the truth of the Gospel, he disagreed and discussed, but he always cared for the person he was speaking with. He was not interested in being right, he was normalizing disagreement in a time and at venues where doing so was a pastime from a bygone era. And he was murdered for it.
We have two young men who work for us — both of whom came to conservatism, to media, and a desire to be involved in the fight for our country because of Kirk and his organization. His legacy is truly remarkable.
These are frightening times. Uncertain times. Evil is on a rampage — murdering, tormenting, harassing the people who stand firm on the Word of God and who refuse to deny the truth.
Murdering Kirk was not just to destroy one of the most impactful and effective encouragers and thought provokers of a generation, it was to ice discourse, the make scary gathering to discuss, to share, to talk, to disagree, and to dissent.
But you don’t have to be afraid.
After 9/11 (which just happens to be today) there was a saying, that eventually turned into a joke until it became unfashionable — “don’t let the terrorists win.”
Kirk is in the arms of our Savior, so now the fight is ours. It always has been, really.
Fear is nothing more than a feeling that starts as a thought. We can give in to the thoughts, the fear, or we can rule over it.
We can give in to the oppression, to cowards who shoot and run, or we can stand tall, reach in the deep recesses of our soul, and find the courage to proudly cary Jesus to the country, just like Kirk did. We can refuse to cower to the spirit of the age, despite the dictates of broad culture. And we must.
But we sure as hell can’t let the terrorists win.
Vengeance is the Lord’s. And His justice will prevail, whether in this life or the next. But there is no greater path forward than to pick up the torch Kirk lit and run with it. Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead.
Kirk cannot be replaced by one man. But thousands upon thousands carrying his ethos, passion, and vision into future generations can.
I pray for Kirk’s sweet family. That the Lord’s supernatural peace be their constant companion. That He bring restoration and rightness to this situation and to their futures. I pray for everyone who mourns, and for those who don’t, that their hearts would become hearts of flesh and not stone. I pray for grace for our great nation, for leaders who fear the Lord and discern His wisdom and direction.
I’m thankful that we serve a God who makes all things new. Who takes any and every situation and works it out for good. I’m thankful that in all of this horror and heartache, the name of Jesus will be made known coast to coast.
Our nation is desperately broken, but we have a great Healer. “We need Jesus Christ. This nation is sick and it needs a Savior. Jesus is the only way. We need to come back to God as a nation.” — Charlie Kirk
Whoever you are, wherever you are, it’s time to get off the sidelines and get into the game. The only thing we have to lose is everything.
Heartbroken, upset, grieving, but more emboldened and righteously indignant than ever,
KK

Beautiful words.
TY Kemberlee. Beautiful, and heartfelt.
My fear is that we will never know the truth about this assassination, and it is hard to move forward with these giant questions unanswered:
Who?
Why?
The best anyone can do is look at the direction Charlie was moving. Use that as a beacon, and, as you said, get in the game.
Who? Satan.
Why? Because he’s Satan.
Christ told His followers several things about good and evil. Among them: the rain falls on the just and the unjust, and the world will hate them because it hated Him first, starting with Eve and the spirit of evil appearing as a serpent. We who place our trust in God shouldn’t be surprised when we see events like this. Concerned, yes. Surprised, no.
It’s significant, I think, that we see this the day before we observe 9/11, but let’s not allow that to distract us. Don’t let the terrorists win in either case.
Kemberlee, thank you for the heartfelt article. We all are in mourning for the passing of the man. Let us not find someday ourselves in mourning for the passing of his inspirational message.
.
The sub heading of this article is written Truth.
The last two weeks have been testing and trying, to say the least. Since August 27th, we’ve had the tragic Annunciation Catholic Church shooting, the savage and senseless brutal murder of Iryna Zarutska, the assassination of Charlie Kirk and today, the anniversary of the worst day in US history since December 7th. God help us.
This is awkward, but has there been any news about the six or seven German politicians who seem to have been assassinated?
We don’t know who is the one person that pulled the trigger but we know who killed Charlie Kirk and why.
Now the only thing to do is to not let them win, and that can only be accomplished by refusing to be intimidated.
Luke 22:36
“Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.”
It’s time.
The line has been drawn. The divide is now wide.
Anyone who is a leftist, anyone who supports the Democrat Party, anyone who espouses disdain for free and open speech, anyone who celebrates the assassination of Charlie Kirk is now the enemy.
I vow to rid myself of these people in my life. I vow to disengage them, to make sure I rid my employment rolls of these people.
I have already told family members who have celebrated this assassination that they are no longer welcome in my life and my family life.
I have told my wife if she supports her aunt that we no longer need to be married. She can be silent about it, but I refuse to let her defend her comments. These people are no longer welcome in my home. They are no longer meaningful in my life. I refuse to attend any gatherings where they are attending.
To do otherwise is to give quarter to the rot that is the left.
There is no forgiveness from me to them.
Celebrate this assassination? I can’t imagine …
.
Only the strong can forgive.
is this how Charlie dealt with “the opposition”? NO WAY. He did not avoidd them, he engaged with them, and won many of them. YOU stand up and show the way ahead. Engage with them, don’t shun and avoid them.
RIP Charlie Kirk. The Lord’s blessings and protection for your family. We don’t yet know facts about the specific assassin, but we surely know who condones what the lying left media euphemises as “political violence” and we know the truth that it comes overwhelmingly from the left. One commentator last night said it was because the left can’t stand to lose arguments. This doesn’t quite hit the mark. Leftist violence comes from the fact that it can’t stand to have arguments.
Amen.
its one thing to not allow personal insults to have you react violently
but when violence is brought upon us
that thought goes out the window
b/c its no longer a person insult but a strike against good >>humanity
and once again
lefty has proven
they dont debate
correction:
its no longer a personal insult
Vengeance is the Lord’s. And His justice will prevail, whether in this life or the next. But there is no greater path forward than to pick up the torch Kirk lit and run with it. Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead.
so live in slavery while on earth???
yes…god will take care of business
but that doesnt mean become or stay slaves to mentally ill people
Nice words, and I understand the sentiment. However, if you’re on the left no longer welcome to my property or in my presence. I will do everything possible to make you uncomfortable and know that you’re not wanted. I don’t hang out with people, and all leftists are evil. No exceptions
I also think it’s time for all of us, as conservatives, to stand up and be the bigger person. To be better than this horrible example. To show true tolerance. I don’t meant the fake tolerance of telling people what not to say and making land acknowledgements. I mean the true tolerance of accepting that people can have different opinions on important topics, and not try to silence, cancel, or eliminate them. The left is stuck in a deadly cycle of absolutism. We need to show the better way.
I’d never heard of Charlie Kirk until after the little Ukrainian girl was killed. After that horrible video was posted, the Swamp media immediately and in lockstep flooded the net about a 31 year old Republican’s death to the exclusion of any and all other topics.
Did the Swamp think real Americans would burn a few cities down, like some ethnicities did when their heroes swallowed too much fentanyl ?
Any vigils in our neck of the woods, that you know of? I’m a bit slow to catch info around here.
