Let’s Celebrate Deborah Harry’s 80th Birthday With These Classic ‘Blondie’ Songs

“Once I had a love and it was a gas, soon turned out had a heart of glass.”

Deborah Harry, the lead singer of the classic American rock group “Blondie,” has just turned 80 and man do I feel old now. She still looks pretty good, though.

Let’s celebrate with some Blondie tunes.

Heart of Glass

The Tide is High

Rapture

Shayla (This one is a little more obscure but a great song. Can anyone tell me what happens to Shayla at the end of the song? Is she abducted by aliens? Listen to the lyrics.)

I’ve always been a fan of Blondie, I had a poster of Debbie on my wall in the Barracks back in the day.

“And out comes a man from Mars
And you try to run but he’s got a gun
And he shoots you dead and he eats your head
And then you’re in the man from Mars
You go out at night, eatin’ cars”

Truly the Shakespeare of our age.

It’s not OK that she’s this old, because that suggests that I’m not as young as I’d like to believe.

” call me ” produced by giorgio moroder no less–sort of the theme song for ” American Gigolo ” as was also ” the seduction ” written/performed by moroder as well–great film, by the way–believe it featured lauren hutton–a natural beauty indeed, much like by own lady

I’ve always liked older women.

for some things in this life there is no substitute for experience

what’s truly miraculous though is a young woman with maturity and a depth of heart way beyond her years–an old soul as it were–worth more than any amount of money–they love and give without conditions, without restrictions–they quietly go about changing men’s hearts and transforming men’s lives–literally angels in the flesh–without them, this would be a dark world indeed
