Just days after ABC News suspended Terry Moran for calling Trump White House official Stephen Miller a “world-class loser,” the longtime correspondent has officially left the network.

“Hello, everyone. I’m Terry Moran, and for almost twenty-eight years, I was a reporter and anchor for ABC News. And as you may have heard, I’m not there anymore. I’m here with you on Substack, this amazing space, and I can’t wait to get at it—to get at the important work that we all have to do in this time of such trouble for our country. I’m going to be reporting and interviewing, and just sharing with you, and hoping to hear from you as well. So it’ll be a few days, maybe a little bit longer. Gotta get some stuff sorted out, but can’t wait to see you. Thanks.”

The NBC News report confirms that Moran is “no longer employed” by ABC News. The network quietly updated its statement following his on-air absence and mounting criticism over the tweet.
“We are at the end of our agreement with Terry Moran and based on his recent post — which was a clear violation of ABC News policies — we have made the decision to not renew,” a spokesperson for the network said in a statement.
“At ABC News, we hold all of our reporters to the highest standards of objectivity, fairness and professionalism, and we remain committed to delivering straightforward, trusted journalism,” the spokesperson said.
As we previously reported, Moran’s now-deleted insult wasn’t just a stray remark, but a part of a long-running trend of media hostility toward Trump and his officials. And instead of expressing any remorse, Moran is using the controversy to launch his next act.
If anything, his move to Substack confirms what many Americans have suspected for years: the media class isn’t neutral, and some don’t even pretend to be anymore.

He spoke for all “Journalists” but where he screwed up was putting it in writing. All we have to do is watch any of the networks shows to see how disdainful they are towrard any Republican or consrvative.

Terry Moran’s brother Rick writes for PJ Media, a conservative web site. Rick wrote a touching tribute to his brother, despite how deeply they disagree on politics. In fact, that was the point. They remain close as brothers who grew up together, and stand shoulder to shoulder. No scathing political argument can sunder family loyalties. Rick’s attitude is such a breath of fresh air in this age when family ties are so quickly severed because of politics.
Terry was delusional, both in his assessment of the White House and of his right to post personal feelings when he is well known as a journalist. As his brother noted, if it’s after midnight and you’re bursting t get something off your chest – DON’T. Close your laptop and go to bed.
