President Donald Trump confronted South African President Cyril Ramaphosa with a video of South African communists calling for the murder of white farmers.

Now this is very bad. These are burial sites right here. Burial sites — over a thousand — of White farmers. And those cars are lined up to pay love on a Sunday morning. Each one of those white things you see is a cross. And there is approximately a thousand of them.

I’ve never seen anything like it. On both sides of the road, you have crosses. Those people are all killed.

I’m seeing people on the left denouncing Trump over the video.
The video includes a video of burial sites of murdered white farmers.
Ramaphosa asked Trump is anyone told him the location of the burial site: “I’d like to know where that is.”
Trump did not have the exact location.
“We need to find out,” Ramaphosa responded.
Trump also lashed out at an NBC reporter for asking about the Qatari jet instead of the video he showed:
Look, here’s burial sites all over the place. These are all white farmers that are being burned, and he asks about a jet that was given. You ought to be ashamed of yourself. You are so bad. You’re such a bad reporter.
This is one after another. His family was wiped out.
When you look at the videos, how does it get worse? And these are people that are officials, and they’re saying to kill the white farmer and take their land.
And I have other friends in South Africa, people that left. One in particular that says you can’t go there. He said they want to take your land.
Even Ramaphosa seemed disturbed the reporter didn’t ask a question about the video.
Trump also showed copies of articles reporting on the deaths and South Africans fleeing because of the violence and racist laws.
One reporter asked Trump if he would go to South Africa and see it for himself.
“Well, I could do that,” Trump replied.
Something tells me that after two assassination attempts the Secret Service won’t even allow Trump to think about a trip to South Africa.

Sure, they admit, there are white people being killed, but no more than black people. South Africa has a high murder rate (much like the USA has historically had, but even worse) and, they claim, whites are falling victim of ordinary crime at the same rate as blacks are.
Which is probably true in the cities. Actually in the cities whites are probably being killed less often than blacks, because they hire security and don’t dare go out without it. Urban whites aren’t affected by the movement to kill white farmers and steal their farms. But out in the country that is not the case. It’s specifically white farmers who are being targeted, on the basis that their farms were stolen from black people and should therefore be given back to other black people (because all black people are interchangeable). In fact most white farmers are farming land that was wild and unowned before their ancestors cultivated it for the first time, and therefore wasn’t stolen from anyone.
There is a common perception that South Africa was inhabited by black people and then the white people came and colonized it and chased the black people out. But the fact is that the Afrikaners and the Bantu settled South Africa at more or less the same time. Before that it was empty apart from the Hottentots. So neither had a better claim to it than the other. Two agricultural peoples found wild land and settled it, then as both expanded they ran into each other and came into conflict.

Apartheid didn’t just drop out of the sky in 1948 (despite what internet “history” sources seem to suggest). It was the Boers who brought modern irrigation and agriculture to a largely arid area and that rapidly expanding progress started the conflict with Bantus—essentially nomads. Some Fox or Newsmax reporter should make a commotion (by asking a question our loud – i.e. doing his job) in a federal courtroom, get thrown out, then claim “muh First Amendment rights.” “Disruption” of a proceeding, in a court or in the Oval Office/White House, is a judgement call that can be made by the persons in charge of those venues. What could the courts do but uphold the tossing of the reporter without making the courts subject to disruption by journalists (if for no other reason than a lack of decorum/propriety)? Went several years ago for a trip of the lifetime after watching Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom and Tarzan as a kid. Safari, climbed Kilimanjaro and so on. Everyone was so nice and friendly. I got invited into multiple huts for dinner, many smiles around even from the fat lady sitting on my lap in a cab holding a live chicken. People are people everywhere not their governments. Smile and wave especially to the kids.
It’s WAY safer to go to Kenya and Tanzania than it is to take a walking tour of South Chicago…WAY safer. If you’re intent on seeing gorillas, you’ve going to have to go to East Africa for that, like Congo or Rwanda, two places that are far less safe than Kenya and Tanzania. My best advice would be to heed the State Department guidance on vaccinations. African diseases are no joke. Your tour operator should have a good list as well. July is in the dry season and the lowest risk for Malaria…but, it’s not a zero risk of Malaria.
The only vaccine recommendation is yellow fever, mosquitoe borne. L, which I’m reluctant to get because of your over 65 the side effects can be pretty severe and death is the final one. Much safer if under 65, but I have to make a decision soon.

We plan to live there when we retire in a few years from teaching at a community college and help to establish education opportunities for young women. I had a friend from SA years ago. He was a white man who lived in the suburbs. His family was in SA for 4 generations farming. He was employed by an America company in the high-tech field, and when Apartheid forced American companies to divest, his job site just changed names and continued without American support. He said that the country was educating the Blacks to try to bring them into the current century. Turning the country over to the Blacks was tantamount to sending the country back into the 18th century. His family were visited by a Black mob and told they had 5 hours to leave their farm, or they would be killed. They went back several years later, and the house was falling down, and nothing was growing on the farmland. The new owners just destroyed a working farm.
