New Jersey Health Dept. Warns of Measles Exposure at Shakira Concert

The person does not reside in New Jersey.

The New Jersey Health Department alerted those who attended the Shakira concert of a potential exposure to measles.

“The New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH) is alerting residents about potential exposures associated with a newly identified case of measles in a non-NJ resident who attended a concert in NJ while infectious,” according to a statement. “Individuals – especially parents, guardians, health care providers, and caregivers – are urged to be aware of the symptoms of this highly contagious virus and to ensure they are up to date with the measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) shots.”

Yeah, America already suffers from the worst measles outbreak in 25 years.

The concert took place at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford.

The department said the timing was 7:30 PM on May 15 to 1:00 AM on May 16.

“Anyone who suspects an exposure or illness is urged to call a health care provider BEFORE going to any medical office or emergency department,” urged the department. “Special arrangements can be made for evaluation while also protecting other patients and medical staff from possible infection. Please do not visit a medical facility without calling ahead.”

Symptoms include a high fever, cough, runny nose, and watery red eyes. A rash shows up three to five days after you get those symptoms.

“The rash usually begins as flat red spots that appear on the face at the hairline and spread downward to the neck, torso, arms, legs, and feet,” explained the health department. “Measles can also cause serious complications, such as pneumonia and encephalitis (swelling of the brain), and can lead to miscarriage in pregnant people, premature birth, or a low-birth-weight baby.”

The department said the state has not received any associated cases in the state since the concert.

However, a person “could develop symptoms as late as June 6, 2025.”

Really? That sucks. Did you get the vaccine as a kid? I find it darkly funny that the “officials” say you can show symptoms as late as D-Day.

Shakira is a contagious disease.

It’s absolutely shocking that we’re experiencing a pathogenic outbreak after introducing more than 15M aliens into the population over the last 48-months.

I hope this uninvited influx of people didn’t do anything to housing costs.

Not to worry b/c the Biden Admin had ‘top men’ working on screening and vetting.

Considering measles was declared eradicated in the US in 2000, yes, its a total mystery why we are suddenly getting outbreaks. Wonder where they are coming from???

It was eradicated in 2000, but it was back by 2010, and not through illegal immigrants. There have been numerous outbreaks, traced to legal travelers in both directions. Americans who picked it up abroad and brought it home with them, and legal tourists visiting America who brought it with them. And the spread was enabled by parents who had refused to vaccinate their children, having been panicked by the deliberate lies of Andrew Wakefield and his acolytes.

so you are saying that the disease knows who is legal and who isnt!!?!!!

while it is certainly possible that legal travelers ALSO brought the measles in

it is more than fair and highly intelligent to say that illegals also as opposed to your statement that its “not through illegal immigrants:

Never at a grateful Dead concert
You get what you play for… 🙂

or a Fish concert. The “last” one was 10 miles from my house. Many people showing up I wanted to keep a safe distance from although I made some good money towing vehicles out of ditches

Much ado about nothing. People suffered more from hearing loss than they will from measles.

Can this present age get any more risk-averse?

The hysteria over measles is only superseded by the hysteria over the bad flue year of 2020.

Monkey pox! Bird flu! Badly chapped ;lips!!!!!! *RUNS AWAY SCREAMING*

Is measles the 2025 hysteria “you gonna die” disease? What happened to monkey pox, ebola, bird flue, etc etc?

“pregnant people” WTF?
