CA Gov. Newsom Continues Effort to Rebrand Himself as Bill Clinton v. 2.0
As Newsom pushes ban on homeless camps, Democratic Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett says donors are already lining up behind the “safe white boy.” Given Newsom’s recent moves and media support, the Democrats may already be fielding their 2028 candidate.

Ever since it became clear that Biden was aging out of his office disgracefully, I have observed California Governor Gavin Newsom clearly promote himself as a presidential aspirant.
In a recent post, I noted that the California legislature seems poised to assist Newsom in his efforts to rebrand himself as a centrist, essentially the new millennium’s Bill Clinton. The Assembly voted in support of appalling legislation removing felony charges for soliciting teens, which the governor quickly vetoed.
Trust me, there is a lot of lunacy that the state’s politicians can create and support. So this is a ready pathway for Newsom to generate some “centrist” bona fides to sell to the American people in 2028.
Now, Newsom has recently intensified his call for California cities and counties to ban homeless encampments, unveiling a model ordinance that local governments can adopt or modify. This move is paired with the release of $3.3 billion in voter-approved funds to expand housing and treatment options for homeless residents.
Newsom’s plan asks locals to prohibit persistent camping in one location and encampments that block sidewalks. It also requires local officials to attempt to offer shelter before removing a temporary dwelling.
L.A. County Supervisor Kathryn Barger celebrated the ordinance, saying it balanced public safety and compassion for homeless people.
“The model ordinance provides local governments with clear guidelines while emphasizing outreach and services. This is a practical step forward in helping communities responsibly manage encampments and connect people to the support they need,” Barger said.
All throughout Deep Blue California, major cities such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, and San Jose have already begun to clear encampments. San Francisco and San Jose have increased shelter capacity and enforcement, with San Jose considering arrests for those who repeatedly refuse shelter.
More details are emerging about San Jose Mayor Matt Mahan’s plan to arrest or hospitalize homeless people for refusing offers of shelter — and the city could create a police unit to do so.
Mahan presented more details about his “Responsibility to Shelter” initiative Thursday, including expanding the city’s in-house homeless outreach efforts and establishing a new police unit to enforce it. Under the proposed policy, homeless people who decline offers of shelter three times within an 18-month period will be cited and arrested for trespassing. The policy is slated for discussion Monday, as part of the City Council’s budget hearings.
The media is touting this move with banner headlines. The New York Times, Politico, and all of the major media organizations are highlighting this bold strategy…despite the fact Newsom has been promising to end homelessness for over 20 years.
Which brings me to my next data point. During a Sirius podcast interview, long-lashed Democratic Congresswoman from Texas Jasmine Crockett pretty much indicated donors were lining up behind a safe white boy:
“No, for real. And to be clear, when we talk about them, I can tell you that there is one specific candidate,” the Texas lawmaker said. “I had a donor on the phone with me telling me that all the donors are lining up behind that candidate. So I can tell, and I tell you, it’s not a Black person, nor a woman, OK?”
Newsom has run and reigned as a progressive ever since the earliest days of his career. It is clear the liberal entities now realize running an extreme leftist will end in failure.
Hence, the frenzied attempt to reshape the Newsom narrative while he still holds political power, which ends in November 2026, thanks to term limits.
However, the trouble with this plan is X.com, podcasts, and the complete set of receipts related to Newsom’s cascade of unending failures.
For example, Newsom’s climate cultism can be tied to the Great Los Angeles fire of January 2025. As of right now, it appears that only 31 rebuilding permits have been reissued…after those blazes incinerated 16,000 structures.
California’s failures can become your failures, too. Newsom has just been appointed co-chair of the US Climate Alliance, an organization consisting of like-minded governors with objectives such as upholding the insane Paris Agreement within their jurisdictions and net-zero “greenhouse gas” emissions and no later than 2050.
Consider this post a prophecy of things to come. Given Newsom’s recent moves and media support, the Democrats may already be fielding their 2028 candidate.

Governor Hair Gel is no Bill Clinton (our first black president) although he may well be a Shrillery Clinton. He is no moderate and will never be seen as one. He’s just another progressive “white boy”.
He will have a difficult time branding himself as Bill Clinton. His wife is nothing like Hillary and so far he has no relationship with a female intern.
He and she will never match their body count.
There are sufficient beds in shelters in CA, but homeless junkies refuse to shelter there. They prefer outdoors where it doesn’t freeze. It becomes pointless exercise to cite them with ticket as they throw it away. So that means that police play game of wack-a-mole, disrupting them on one street, and they pop up again few blocks over. Nothing will change with newsom revised policies.
For starters, CA needs to cut off the flow of freebies, and enforce laws against drugs and shoplifting etc. They could also deport illegal aliens, and free up housing for 3 million legal CA residents.
I don’t care about any of that. I just want to make sure that before Newsom closes ANY place that homeless have chosen to live, that he is forced to give every homeless resident there FULL FORMAL DUE PROCESS. We can’t afford any more “Skid Row Man” type relocation accidents.
Crockett says MANY things. Lately she has taken to inciting violence.
a squawking angry black racist ignorant stupid fat ugly woman. she should have her own bronze statue in Austin.
Me and my wife were born in California in the late 50s and our sons in the 80s. We moved to the east coast due to business in 96 and it was a good move. We still have family and friends in the state. The last good Governor for California was Reagan as he built most of the reservoirs, used logging companies to keep forest clean and fires down, and kept the colleges cost down.
Newsom is Pelosi’s nephew and has run the one party state into a massive debt. He has let several dams be destroyed to please environmentalists. He also has closed all but two Gas Refineries, but they are to close soon. He also has all but one Nuclear Plant closed and it is due to be closed. The state has many brownouts and blackouts.
Many metro areas have problems in the state. As the Governor there is a Mansion for him and his family in Sacramento, but he never lived in it. He chose to live in a Mansion miles away and now he purchased a place in Marin County.
During COVID he placed the state on lockdown, but he did not place him or his family on lockdown. He would have restaurants open up so he could go out, but not allow the state to be open. He believes in two tier system and people that elect him are not part of the system – only his donors.
Clinton had that likeable easy charm — but the only reason the USA thrived on his watch was Newt Gingrich. People will forget this if they ever knew it.
Since Newsome is already greasy and a pathological liar, I’d say he is halfway to becoming Bubba 2.0
Now he just needs a few sexual assaults and he’ll be on his way.
He also needs to stand in front of a mirror and practice that aww shucks grin.
He already has the adultery part down.
also needs to learn to cry and quiver his lower lip on demand
only if marries a hillary
The other one getting a lot of press these days is AOC. If she plays her cards right it will be a Newsom/AOC ticket. It will not be easy to beat since IMO the poorly-educated and informed public seems to prefer form over substance most of the time. (The worst AOC will do in 2028 is replace Schumer.)
Newsom/AOC is actually weak ticket for dems. They are already guaranteed CA and NY. They wouldn’t win any battleground states that way.
Theoretically you are correct. But, I think it would be their “star power” ticket and unless Trump delivers solid results, proving that competence and control of the executive and legislative branches matters, they will have most of the battleground states in their pocket. In particular, the deficit has to come down a lot from $2T per year that Biden dumped in Trump’s lap. (The current GOP tax bill is IMO an abomination and not a confidence builder.)
