What Adam Schiff Learned from a Cashier at Target
“And she asked me what happened and I told her. And she basically said … ‘Yeah, Democrats are a**holes.'”

During a Friday night appearance on Real Time with Bill Maher, the repellent Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA) shared a “teaching moment” he experienced with a cashier at a South San Francisco Target store.
Two years ago, Schiff traveled to San Francisco, where his luggage was stolen from his locked car. Needing essentials for the next couple of days, he stopped by a nearby Target store to pick up some toiletries. He grew annoyed when he had to track down a clerk to unlock an item he needed, which was secured behind glass.
In the checkout line, the cashier asked him if he wanted “one of those Target bags with the little bullseye on it.” He said yes, because “that Target bag is going to be my luggage for the next two days.”
Schiff continued, “And she asked me what happened, and I told her. And she basically said in not-so-many words, ‘Yeah, Democrats are a**holes.'”
“And I thought if a cashier in San Francisco at ten o’clock at night believes that Democrats are a**holes because the shampoo is locked up and my stuff got stolen out of the trunk, we’ve got a major problem that we have to address.”

First, the cashier was right. Democrats are a**holes. Their misguided policies have inflicted great harm on America.
Second, given Schiff’s long history of playing fast and loose with the truth, it’s hard to take anything he says at face value. But assuming the story is true, you have to appreciate the irony of a Democrat falling victim to the very policies his party helped create. After all, it’s often only through direct experience that real lessons are learned.
Additionally, Schiff prefaced his story by telling Maher, “So, we’re going to have to change how we do business in California. We’re going to have to address people’s legitimate concerns about crime.” This raises the question: what steps, if any, has he taken to confront the situation? My guess would be none.
In their infinite wisdom, California voters passed Proposition 47 in 2014, a ballot initiative that, among other things, downgraded the theft of goods worth up to $950 from a felony to a misdemeanor, making it easier for petty crime to flourish. Predictably, the incidence of shoplifting soared.
And retailers suffered. Many saw their profit margins shrink, and some were even forced to shutter their stores. While we can all relate to the annoyance of having to track down a clerk to purchase everyday items that are now under lock and key, we also understand why these security measures have become necessary.
Moreover, the overall decline of San Francisco has only deepened over the past two years. Once a beautiful tourist destination, it has now become a city many people go out of their way to avoid.
Reaction to Schiff’s story on social media was overwhelmingly negative.
One X user quipped, “Has he checked if it was that bald, lipstick-wearing Biden official?”—a reference to Sam Brinton, the “non-binary” former senior Department of Energy official whose penchant for stealing women’s luggage from airport baggage carousels ultimately cost him his job.

And most commenters agreed with the Target clerk.
It’s quite accurate Democrats are assholes and late night Target worker is right on course because if Democrats weren’t assholes people would not have had to flee the state of California there would not be a vague socio-economic collapse and yeah we wouldn’t be listening to this…

Schiff’s luggage stolen in San Francisco? Shocking. The city’s crime crisis under Democrat leadership is so out of control even their own cashiers are rebelling. While politicians lecture about “root causes,” working-class Americans deal with the fallout: rampant theft, open-air…

And most responders believed that, despite Schiff’s moment of clarity, he has done nothing to address the situation.
Adam Schiff may tell this story but he’ll never do anything to prevent it from happening again.

Because he just might be the biggest liar in Congress today.
Is Adam Schiff the biggest lying POS in Congress?

Democrats are assholes.
Schiff is one of the biggest assholes of the democrats.
He is also an embarrassment to Jews such as myself and fuels hatred towards us from non Muslims.
I have a bit of news for you, z: Schiff, Schumer, and the ones with whom I went to high school (Fairfax High in Los Angeles, Winter ’67, pre-forced-busing) started my journey away from what constitutes much of the “Jewish” community in these here Yoo-nited states. Experiences later in life finished the job. Schiff types are just not all that rare.
Like I said on another thread, stereotypes exist for a reason and i’m sad to say that.
That is Shiffless.
In a confession through projection, the ADL should investigate his fueling of antisemitism.
The ADL is not the organization it used to be. It is run by a former Obama butt boy. He and they are more concerned with progressive values than antisemitism.
Also, I always thought that the ADL was too quickly to claim something was antisemitic. Many incidents especially these days are. Put in the past some, usually done by teenagers, were just the result of ignorance and stupidity. They should be labeled as such so as not to devalue the accusation of antisemitism when it is warranted,
What Adam Schiff learned vs what he heard… two very different things….
Not that Democrats aren’t assholes, but Schiff should have asked her” But what about Trump? Felon. Fraudster. Sex offender. Serial liar. Economic ignoramus. What would she call that? Asshole x ten to the third?
You have Schiff for brains. You are such an asshole too.
Trump could be all of those things and still wouldn’t be responsible for turning California into a 2nd world shit hole.
Please, oh please, I beg the moderators and owners of this website to bring down the ban hammer on the trolls tjv1156 and JR and any sock puppets they may have created or will create to get around any ban. They simply do not contribute anything useful to any conversation. They’re here just to disrupt things.
And yes, I understand you have that whole “free speech/free expression” thing around here but really, they have gotten very tiresome with their continual disruptive trolling. So please, either ban them outright or set the flag that hides their trolling from everyone but themselves and hopefully they’ll go away for lack of response. Which is what they are looking for Thanks for your consideration.
I’d be happy with a block option.
I’d be happier with a nuclear option.
Seriously. The comments here lack features that were common a decade+ ago… blocking, editing, voting, and plenty of others. I suppose it could be worse… the site could use Disqus, I guess.
This is a professional website. But posts like theirs make it look bad, especially to someone coming here for the first time, reading posts by tjv1156 and JR, getting a bad impression and vowing to never to return.
awwww- did I say something bad about orange jesus ,Paula? I know that makes you mad mads. And you’d prefer a MAGA echo chamber where no thought is required. Hey- 100 days and STILL no resolution to the Ukraine Russia war? Huh? What about the Art of The Deal ? LAFFRIOT. Hey how’s that Dow coming along? His brillianty tariff policy workin’ yet ? {{{ GUFFAW}}}
You’re not even good at your job.
Yet you are the one who is the echo, so obviously enraged.
Hating Trump, yet supporting the worst. It;s almost like you want others to be distracted from your own wretchedness.
You’re just a troll. Nothing more than that.
Paula: what is an amateur website?
Obamacare.
LOL! Full marks, Henry!
Exactly, and I think Dr. Jacobson, the moderators, and everyone else have been more than patient with their trolling nonsense and it’s time to lower the ban hammer and be done with it.
I agree that it is time for him to go. We aren’t paid to be his therapists and listen to the daily crying.
If you and others would stop feeding the troll. he’d go away.
Wanna bet?
No. He wouldn’t.
Pretty sure it’s a bot.
Slewfoot Morgenstern, the solution is VERY simple and totally under YOUR control
Simply DO NOT RESPOND. Don’t even acknowledge.
Scroll down to the next post.
No fuel, the fire goes out. Problam solved.
It’s ON YOU
Why should he have asked her? To satisfy your TDS? Or because that is what assholes do, show their derangement no matter what?
TDS- how original! {{LAFFRIOT}}
But I’ve never been able figure out. We Have a President who has a criminal resume that would preclude him from employment almost anywhere. He’s a proven pathological liar. Iwoul say idolizing THAT is ‘deranged’ , and opposing that is is called being rational.
It’s what you have. Your cult. You have it bad. Or you are faking. Either way, pitiful. Especially the pretend laughing, when it’s obvious you are enraged!
and what cult would that be? SNICKER..
And who is the cult leader ? {{ LAFFRIOT}}
Yours. Who believed their leader was sharp as a tack and foisted every hoax on the rest of us. The fraud cult. The people spoke but you cultists will persist with your pathetic pretend superiority. More fake laughs, please. This is your last comment to expose the real you.
Dems taught me to not care about the character of elected officials. I only require two characteristics in those for whom I vote – a candidate should love America and should be capable of forcefully advancing a pro-America agenda.
Thank you and yours for putting me on this path. It’s been extremely liberating.
one thing is for sure- yu obviously don’t care about the character of elected offiicials! { SNORT- CHORTLE}}
A single thumbs-up is ruefully inadequate for such comments.
❤️💯🔥💥
Is Bad Orange Man here in the room with us now?
Where’s your luggage?
It’s luggage was stolen by Sam Brinton.
Obviously, you missed the part where he said it happened two years ago.
Not surprised.
And none of those are disqualifiers for his current job. We the people know those charges were purely brought to keep him from challenging Biden.
The main disqualifier for his job is that he DOESN”T LIVE IN CALIFORNIA…
Does anyone really believe any of that actually happened? Yes, his luggage may have been stolen but I simply cannot imagine Schiff actually going so lowbrow as to show up to a Target to buy toiletries. Especially since he could have gotten everything he needed in that regard for free from whatever hotel he was staying at. So did his luggage get stolen, yes, most likely. Did he end up at a Target buying toiletries at 10pm? Nope. Not a chance in Hades did that happen.
He would have sent a flunky out to get them.
I think he would have sent his coolie.
Exactly. He’s got such a swelled head and misplaced sense of self-importance I can’t see him actually deigning to enter a Target for any particular reason.
I don’t think most hotels, even the nice ones where a congressman would stay, provide lube..even if you ask the concierge.
Schiff stays in places where the concierge IS the lube.
I don’t think most hotels, even the nice ones where a congressman would stay, provide lube.
Wanna bet? 😛 You might be surprised what these elite people are supplied with during their stays at thousand dollar a night, luxury hotels.
You mean to say Schiff, a known fabulist, would create a tale to serve his interests and make sure he gets publicity. It is my hope everyone begins to ignore California’s Grima Wormtongue.
He would have had a flunky arrange to have a high-end store opened for him, and then sent the flunky to do the shopping.
The story is a complete fabrication beyond the point of the luggage theft — as you suggested.
Only in a setting such as Maher’s studio, with its simp-pathetic audience, would such a bullsh*t story pass muster without audible {{ SNORT-CHORTLES, GUFFAWS, and LAFFMOSTLYPEACEFULPROTESTS }}.
A moment of clarity for Schiff? Oh, no. We can’t have that!
Seriously, I think the story is true. If it weren’t, I don’t believe Schiff would make up a story that would put Dems in such bad light. There are other ways to get this point across and Schiff is smart enough to know that.
She probably said people that steal are assholes and Schiff immediately equated that to Dems. His inference is so telling.
look – they stole the 2020 election , right??? LAFFRIOT
SF votes 90% dem. Nearby counties 80%.
“While we can all relate to the annoyance of having to track down a clerk to purchase everyday items that are now under lock and key …”
Not in my part of Florida.
But small, expensive tools at Home Depot: Yes.
Not in my part of Tucson.
I’m still bummed at the “societal change” that saw all the Harbor Freights in my area (far north suburban Phoenix, not exactly Democrat central) install turnstiles at the IN door so shoplifters are forced to go by the registers. I actually witnessed a shoplifting event in progress in one last year, a first for me (at any store).
The men are assholes.. The women are just women.
They don’t know who is which in their party any more and can’t presume to tell you.
A lot of their women are men.
I’ll take Things That Never Happened for $100.
What clerk would ask if you wanted a bag “with the little bullseye symbol”?
Schiff has never been in a Target.
Yeah. I’ll believe it after it is confirmed by an enterprising journalist who FOIA’s the SFPD for the police report. Why wouldn’t it have been leaked to the media that a U.S. Senator’s luggage was stolen after his car was broken into while he was visiting a fancy hotel? Wouldn’t the hotel’s concierge have complimentary toiletries for a U.S. Senator who had been victimized at 10pm while a guest at their property? They’re going to make him take a car service to Target to get a razor and shaving cream at 10pm – rather than send an illegal immigrant?
Maher was right to be skeptical.
Schiff going after the most expensive shampoo at the Target for his handful of remaining hairs is the real buried lede here.
“In the checkout line, the cashier asked him if he wanted “one of those Target bags with the little bullseye on it.” He said yes, because “that Target bag is going to be my luggage for the next two days.”
Do they offer logo apparel in coats and jackets? Because I’d buy him one.
Why is this revaluation being revealed now? Why did it take two years?
tjv1156 has markers of AI. Do you really want to spar with a nonhuman?
Bah. The ancient ELIZA program was more interesting than tjv1156.
I disagree. AI writes coherently. Look at his writing style, filled with grammatical errors and constant written-out reactions like “{{LAFFRIOT}}.” He’s a human, just a stupid and angry one. Personally the more he and his ilk troll the more I support Trump, just out of sheer contempt for these Democrat shitheads.
That is one of the reasons I ended up voting for Trump.
I was actually trying to be charitable. Surely such an idiot has to be AI generated; a human believing he is making some kind of impact by his useless comments is sad.
“It” is definitely uninteresting with no creativity and boring predictability.
This is pointing the finger in entirely the wrong direction. $950 as the boundary between petty theft and grand theft is on the low end of the spectrum. If CA raised it to $950 then it must previously have been ridiculously low, perhaps even the lowest in the nation. The vast majority of states set it higher than California, even after this change, and they do not have a problem with it. And it has never occurred to them to lower it.
Colorado, Texas, and Wisconsin all set the limit at $2,500. Pennsylvania and South Carolina set it at $2,000. Nine states set it at $1,500, two at $1,200, Twenty-two states have it at $1,000. So a $950 level is on the conservative side, and nothing to complain about.
The problem in California is not the point at which misdemeanor petty theft becomes felony grand theft, it’s that some county DAs refuse to prosecute misdemeanors, leading police in those counties to refuse to arrest people for misdemeanors, because what’s the point? And that’s why petty thieves feel free to do their thing; they know there will be no consequences, whereas in most states they know that misdemeanor or felony, they’ll be arrested and prosecuted.
so then he knew this 2 years ago
did he vote trump?
Troll: def. : “anybody who dares point out the fact that Trump is incompetent ( see tariffs), a pathological liar, and a genuinely horrible person. ( see criminal resume).
Maybe Mr. Schiff can start “doing things differently” by resigning and running again for the Senate in Maryland, where he and his family have been full-time residents since at least 2003. He has committed fraud by maintaining his primary residence in Maryland, his kids attended school and graduated high school in Maryland, and his wife works.
He’s heterosexual?
Adam Schiff, aka Joe Isuzu, aka [pick your favorite liar].
He said it happened 2 years prior and he has done nothing to fix the situation. Either it is all fiction for sympathy where he gets none, or he is a worse than useless politician, being part of the problem!
