Report: FBI Stumbles Upon Secret JFK Files After Trump Executive Order
But did the FBI really “find” the documents or did people already know they existed?
Holy. Moly. WOW.
Axios reported that the FBI discovered over 14,000 pages related to President John F. Kennedy’s assassination.
The board responsible for reviewing and disclosing the documents never received them.
The 2,400 records have not seen the light of day until today…at least that we know of:

But the discovery of thousands of records on one of the most scrutinized events in U.S. history is likely to raise questions about the procedures for vetting and releasing information across the entire government.
“This is huge. It shows the FBI is taking this seriously,” said Jefferson Morley, an expert on the assassination and vice president of the nonpartisan Mary Ferrell Foundation, the nation’s largest source of online records of Kennedy’s killing. He sued the U.S. government for more records.
“The FBI is finally saying, ‘Let’s respond to the president’s order,’ instead of keeping the secrecy going,” Morley said.
The FBI only found them because President Donald Trump issued an executive order to release files about the assassinations of JFK, RFK, and MLK Jr.
But did the FBI really “find” the documents, or did people already know they existed?

He pointed to the fact that Jack Ruby had easy access to kill Lee Harvey Oswald.

It wasn’t 9 months later that the Gulf of Tonkin happened and we were entangled in Vietnam.
“Advisors” were already there and getting shot at.
JFK was a Cold Warrior. He was not going to “abandon” Vietnam, but he was not interested in ecalating the way we did. He also had the CIA p*ssed at him over Bay of Pigs. The idea that “elements” in the IC did it has always run pretty true. And then there’s the assassination itself. The lone gunman theory has never held water, IMO.
Why does the lone gunman theory fail in your mind. 1 person shooting make more sense than a bunch of people working together to do it. Every person you add to an assassination plot increases your chance of being exposed probably in a near logarithmic curve.
I think a lot of people underestimate how good someone can get with a rifle with a little practice.
Yes, one CAN get to be very accurate with a rile. However…… in this case the situation as it developd called for far more than one shot accuracy as performed in mach shooting.
To fire through that sixth floor window, he could not have used prone position but only offhand (standing) reducing ultimate accuracy by at leat a factor of four. Add a moving target and the range involved, that 7.62 Carcano was sretched way beyond normal capability. Besides, the shooter was not known for any unusual level of marksmanship.
Next, multiple eyewitness reports, by folks who could not have seen any news reporting at the time they made their statements, strongly support shots coming from opposite directions. A couple of still photos taken at the time also strongly support rounds coming from opposite directions.
You would do well to search out some of Jack Cashill’s work on this incident. He has compiled an astounding amount of data from many different sources. Things like the chicanery involvong the autopsy, multiple entry times, two different caskets, the limo being airlifted back to DC in secrecy to have the custom windshield, shattered by a bullet, replaced in secret, that shot placement proving at least two divverent directions for the gnshots. and on it goes.
Adding conspirators increases the risk of exposure EXPONENTIALLY (a logarithmic curve is slow growth, by the way).
And Lee Harvey Oswald was trained in marksmanship by the Marines, who are pretty good at it. Oswald demonstrated competence in training and qualified as a marine sharpshooter in 1956 (his performance in 1959 was somewhat less impressive, but he still graded out as a marksman). His 1956 score (212) was almost identical to the 1959 score of Charles Whitman (215), who killed 11 and wounded more than 30 while shooting from the 28th floor observation deck of the University of Texas clocktower in 1966.
Advisors yes. Divisions no. After Tonkin the US Navy, Air Force upped their involve substantially. The Marines shipped the 1st Mar Division to DaNang as well as a Marine Air Wing. So it went from Advisors to full on war.
I was in that first wave into Da Nang with VFMA 323. It was a mess and our missions were all over the place from interdiction with ground Marines to Elint escort missions as far north as China. We lived in tents and had outdoor showers just like in the series MASH. Those were scary times because DC was afraid of China.
And the Gulf of Tonkin was as phony as a 3-dollar bill.
The “new” documents all document that the real kill shot came from the grassy knoll, from the rifle of 13-year-old sharpshooting prodigy, Chuck Schumer.
Those half-glasses he uses to stare down his nose at people are in fact a telescopic site.
The zapuder film showed brain matter exiting the front (exit point) before the head rocked backwards. That is very strong indication that shot was from the rear Texas book depository. On the other hand, I have a few acquantances (not friends) who know/knew the docs in the ER that exit wound was in the back of the head.
Due to the crappy autopsy (or poorly documented autopsy), we will probably never know.
Remember, the first doctors wot see JFK were trying to save him, not preserve the wounds for an accurate autopsey. After whatever they did to him it is possible their work made an accurate autopsey more difficult.
Regardless of the quality of the autopsy–JFK’s personal physician wanted an expedited autopsy but was overruled in favor of a complete autopsy–there is little doubt that Kennedy was shot twice from behind. The exit wounds were in the front of Kennedy’s skull and throat. The movements of his head first forward and then reflexively backward are consistent with the physics of being struck by a supersonic projectile.
How many of these documents were made up in anticipation of the day they would be released?

(I was an adult then.) The easy access of Jack Ruby to Oswald always made the official story “smell”. That was a “hit” on Oswald and everyone with half a brain knew it. However, I recall that Ruby was mob connected, not CIA. The other wrinkle is that it now appears that JFk was thinking about replacing LBJ in 1964, so the latter had motive. As to finding these records now, maybe they were in boxes from Biden’s garage?
Ruby also had terminal cancer when all this went down. If any of this had ever gone to trial it’d have been slowed down enough with legal jiggery-pokery until he plotzed.

If you’re looking for a coarse Yiddish word for “to die like an animal”, the word is “peyger”. “A mench shtarbt; a hunt peygert” (a person normal-word-for-dies; a dog coarse-word-for dies).
Just curious: why would “hunt” be a coarse word for a dog? Most Yiddish vocabulary is of German origin, and the German word for dog is “Hund” — same word, but nothing derogatory about it.

JFK might have considered ditching LBJ, but that would have required him to be willing to write off almost 70 electoral votes (TX, AR, MO, LA, GA) in 1964. Not the best choice for a person whose approval rating had declined from 77 to 58 in the previous 9 months.
Jack Ruby ran the strip club where the Secret Service detail was partying the night before the assassination. Lots of bits and pieces that add up to a conspiracy to kill JFK.
CIA and the Mafia had been connected since the OSS days. Operation Husky in 1943 was successful in large part due to the intelligence provided by Cosa Nostra. That spirit of cooperation continued for years including in the run-up to the doomed plot to assassinate Castro and then the Bay of Pigs invasion. While Hoover had been working for decades to end organized crime, it was one of CIA’s best and most frequent collaborators. I’m not saying (necessarily) CIA and the Mob worked together to kill Kennedy. But, there would definitely have been some mutual interest in that outcome.
The scouting of Sicily thanks to the mob was done through the Office of Naval Intelligence, which had cultivated mob connections to secure the dock yards of New York.
Two other aspects, I now recall. The mob was mad that RFK was pursuing it and JFK was fooling around with a mob boss’ girl friend.
Don’t forget the Cuban exiles. Considering how Bay of Pigs turned out, it’s not a stretch to imagine some of them were involved with CIA officers as contract assets.

Kennedy threatened in July ‘63 to pull support for Israel if Israel didn’t allow regular and thorough inspections of their nuclear reactor to make sure they weren’t making weapons. He was shot in November ‘63.
After the January ‘64 inspection, Israel came up with a bunch of excuses why inspections couldn’t happen, had to be delayed, had to be cut short, etc.
Johnson and Nixon didn’t push back or threaten to pull support, and by ‘67 Israel had nuclear weapons.
You know very well it wasn’t Israel, just stop the assininity.
Any source who, after learning of the existence of never-before-revealed FBI files on the Kennedy assassination, first reports them to Axios, should be considered as highly suspect. Axios is to objective journalism what PopTarts are to a healthy diet. They aren’t often found in the same sentence. Unfortunately, the FBI’s credibility has been declining steadily for a decade or more.
We are presently in the era of the mass, gov’t-assisted hoax. Why then are people ready to hold up these newly revealed documents as 100% genuine, accurate, complete, honest and probative? That strikes me as more than a little naive.
Here’s an elevator pitch for a new TV series, Hillary : Original Sin.
In 1963 Hillary Rodham is a 16 year old high school student who, with the aid of her school councilor is trying to tame her sociopathic and delusional tendencies. But – believing that she is secretly married to President Kennedy and that he is under the control of his fake wife, Jackie (a deep cover Russian sleeper agent) she believes she has to rescue her husband from this captivity so they can safely reunite and live together. On a school bus trip to Dallas to see the visiting president she smuggles her father’s hunting rifle onto the bus, ditches the group, and makes her way to a grassy knoll overlooking the parade route, where she sets up to shoot Jackie and free her love. Unfortunately, she never earned a girlscout marksmanship badge, and misses, badly.
This scars her for life, so the rest of her life is devoted to either marrying a president or becoming one. Along the way she leaves a trail of “suicides” and “accidents” every time someone stands in the way of that goal.
Now THAT is some good story-telling! Great conspiracy theory.

Correct. One thing everyone should understand after watching the last four years unfold is it’s naive to believe the FBI is being earnest in anything they do. They’re always working an angle.

FBI and CIA stonewalled the Warren Commission until the very end.
To “comply” with the commission’s documents requests, they delivered truckloads of documents on the very last day, after the commission had completed its work and had already written a draft of their report.
Those documents were then sealed for 25 years, having never been read.
When Clinton ordered a review of the docs related to the JFK assassination, and publication of as much as possible, these same agencies did the exact same thing again and got the same result – sealed away for another 25 years.

The most complicating feature of the Kennedy assassination is the number of disparate people/groups that all had varying levels of interest in replacing Kennedy…one way or another. They guy had a remarkable number of enemies considering how short his presidential tenure was. The list was LONG.
One can’t help but notice that in this regard, there is considerable similarity between Kennedy & Trump, really in a way that hasn’t been seen before. They’re both generational change agents and some people become aggressively and violently hostile to change.
I lived through it and didn’t care even at the time. They closed work early because the mailgirls were crying and I went flying.
As long as you weren’t getting canceled for great jokes it was live and let live. It seemed to be a common reaction off of the Camelot soap opera pages.
What I’ve learned about the Kennedy assassination from these comments:
The CIA, and FBI conspired with communists and the Mafia to kill Kennedy under the orders of Israel and LBJ to keep us out of Vietnam because Kennedy opposed communism. Jack Ruby (a brave terminally-ill man only interested in justice) then killed Oswald to cover up the crime for the mob and for the CIA and/or the FBI.

What we knew all along was the secret service didn’t secure the route. Sounds familiar.
Worse than that. CIA came along and changed the plan for the motorcade. They added a complete stop as they came by that part of the route, rearranged the motorcycle cop escorts to=fall back at the same time, to make a clear shot from the predetermined direction easier.
No, the CIA was working with the Mob and the FBI was working with the communists. The FBI’s plan was the one that everyone saw (Oswald), so the CIA used the Mob to hit the FBI patsy. That way it would really look like that plan had been the operative one. All the while it was the CIA plan that really worked – that was the guy on the Grassy Knoll.

The only “communists” involved was the carefully selected patsy. Kennedy, pissed at the IC’s botched execution of Bay of Pigs (behind his back) had pledged to “scatter them to the winds.” Faced with an existential threat, spooks did what spooks always do. Not complicated.
Nixon clearly believed CIA was involved in someway with Kennedy’s death. The Nixon/Haldeman ‘Bay of Pigs’ conversation that was famously included in the Oval Office tapes is Nixon explaining to Haldeman how to coerce CIA Director Richard Helms into pressuring the FBI into dropping their investigation. THAT specific conversation is the lynchpin of the entire Impeachment case against Nixon. In the ensuing years, progressives have tried to clean-up the obvious and profound implications of that tape recording by saying Nixon and Haldeman were BSing. But, the people closest to Nixon and Haldeman – including Haldeman’s own publisher – have said that they believed the threat to be legitimate; Nixon knew it would work (and it did) because he knew they were culpable.
These conspiracy theories always give short shrift to Oswald’s initial charge- brutally gunning down and murdering officer J.D. Tippit.

There were a lot of players involved in the assassination or cover up after. The Mafia, CIA, FBI, Lyndon Johnson, Chief Justice Warren, and most likely many others. LBJ had the most to gain from the assassination. There has been speculation the JFK and RFK wanted to get rid of J. Edgar Hoover. They went after the mob after their father had the mob fix the election. I don’t think the truth will ever come out. To much evidence has been destroyed. I am hoping the truth will come out though. There has been to much government puss and corruption during my life time.
All this motive speculation is bunkum. LBJ was utterly obsessed with his own fears as to who had done it.
I did a research paper on the assassination and the Warren report in college back in medieval times. Not saying I have inside information, but I read a lot of stuff and researched a lot of the details.
My impression was that there were definitely signs of a coverup. I’m not going to go into details or this comment will turn into a research paper itself, but I just couldn’t get past how big a government conspiracy to kill the President in that manner and then cover it up would have had to have been. Plus, some of the coverup aspects were so amateurishly transparent, I just couldn’t buy that this was a meticulously planned “deep state” operation.
My working theory was that Oswald did it and was working alone. The cover up was an effort to keep Oswald’s connections and support of the Communists and Russia quiet. I think that when the “powers that be” realized who the assassin was and what his history revealed, they were terrified that if those connections and sentiments became front page news for months on end during a trial and all that the public would have demanded some action against Russia that might have fomented a war.
The coverup was to avoid that result, not because government actors had anything to do with the assassination.
Again, just my theory, but it makes a lot more sense to me than the CIA, or LBJ, or some other element of the government killing one of the most popular Presidents in history, engaging in a massive coverup and not a single person out of the huge number of people who would have had to have contributed to the coverup ever regretted their involvement in treason enough to come clean.
You agree that the shooter worked alone, but that: “The cover up was an effort to keep Oswald’s connections and support of the Communists and Russia quiet” because the government was afraid the Soviets would attack. As I remember, it didn’t take long for Oswald’s preoccupation, or fascination, with the USSR to be revealed, including his spending time there and marrying a Russian woman. So I have trouble accepting your second point.

The thing is, after he was dead, and before the advent of the internet, how many people were paying attention to the information that started coming out about his history and connections?
It would have been front page news had it come out in the course of a “trial if the century”. After he was dead and there was no need for a trial, was it even considered “news” by the major media outlets of the time?
I don’t know…my mom was pregnant with me when Kennedy was assassinated so I have no first-hand knowledge of the atmosphere of the time and relying on media and historical accounts can be very unreliable as all of that is colored by the perspectives and biases of the people doing the documenting.
I could easily be way off base about the reasons for the coverup, but I still find it incredible that the huge numbers of government actors that would have had to have been involved in a coverup of that magnitude didn’t include a sizeable number of patriots that would have come clean at some point unless they truly believed what they had done was for the good of the country.
More likely, the FBI stopped hiding the information. America’s Stasi knew exactly what it was doing all these decades, and didn’t “suddenly discover” anything.
My bet is that Johnson ordered it. He hated the North Eastern-Irish-Catholic Kennedy (and family), who he believed disrespected and used him. Johnson just wanted one Pres. really bad. I wouldn’t be surprised if he was involved in Bobby’s murder too..
The CIA was all in given what Kennedy did to them at the Bay of Pigs.
I was working at the DOJ at the time. Ruby’s hit on Oswald convinced many of us that the plot had other important and powerful participants.
highly unlikely it was the CIA. A much more likely explanation in organized crime.
A. RFK went after Hoffa.
B. The Father Joe Kennedy was involved with the mob
C. Sam Giancana Chicago Mob boss was funding JFK. We know this from Judith Exners autobiography. She was bringing suit cases with cash to JFK from Chicago
D. We know Giancana was on the phone with Jack Ruby the night before he shot Oswald.
The mob had motive and the ability to do it. And they are superb at covering it up. They got to Oswald before the Feds could interview him.
