‘One Good Bullet’: Man’s Violent Posts About Trump Lead to Arrest in West Palm Beach

A West Palm Beach man has been arrested after a series of online posts calling for the assassination of President Donald Trump.

According to the New York Post, Shannon Depararro Atkins was taken into custody during a traffic stop on Friday evening following a tip about his posts. During the stop, authorities also allegedly found Atkins in possession of cocaine. Public records indicate that Atkins has been a registered Democrat since 2008.

The New York Post detailed several of Atkins’ online posts that led to his arrest:

“America needs one good bullet to be saved,” Atkins allegedly wrote on Facebook on Jan. 19, a day before Trump was inaugurated for his second term.

Two hours later the same day, Atkins confessed on his Facebook page that he’d been banished from Elon Musk’s X.

I’ve been banned from “X”, because I said I hope and pray someone kills him,” he wrote in an apparent reference to Trump. “History is supposed to repeat itself. We haven’t had an assassination in years.”

He allegedly kept going, writing later in the day, “Bullets please. Please Jesus! Save America” over an image of a meme calling inauguration day a “day of mourning.”

On Friday, he reposted a meme showing the president with his late first wife Ivanka Trump that included the phrase, “I hope they get back together soon.” Atkins allegedly included a row of smiling emojis with the post.

Given President Trump’s history of surviving two assassination attempts, it’s no surprise that the Secret Service is taking all threats against him very seriously. I am glad to see another deranged man taken off the street.

I saw thousands of those after the 2016 election. Almost like you couldn’t arrest and imprison them all. Never heard of them even trying — as if the ‘authorities’ back then wanted it too.

House needs cleaning.

Kaiser’s Maxim remains undefeated: “The left will always, eventually, resort to violence, threats of violence, or glorification of violence to advance its agenda. Always.”

Leftists/Dhimmi-crats/Neo-communists/Islamofascists know that their ideas can’t win/survive on merit; thus, violence/coercion is their preferred mode of “persuasion”/coercion.

Remember our words were violence while their violence was speech.

Adults who are not fans of anarchy and violence are back in charge.

On Friday, he reposted a meme showing the president with his late first wife Ivanka Trump…

The Post fact checkers are either asleep or have been fired. Ivanka Trump is the daughter, Ivana the late wife.

But why should I expect accuracy from the MSM?

Years ago I read a court case in which the NY Post stated on the record that it does not employ fact checkers, and it relies on reporters to check their own facts.

I’m old enough to remember something called editors who took responsibility for keeping sloppy reporting or other bad writing out of their newspapers.

I remember a time when reporters weren’t called journalists, and these reporters had a command of the English language, an understanding of punctuation and grammar, and knew how to properly construct sentences.

Today, we have journaliars who are merely propagandists attempting to “mold hearts and minds.”

AF, at last we agree on something! This is why I always refer to them as reporters, never as “journalists”, and I refer to reporting as a trade, not a profession. Rather than “the press”, a term I think they arrogated to themselves for the express purpose of invoking the first amendment’s phrase “freedom of the press” and thus insinuating that they have a special constitutional role and privileges, I always refer to them as the news industry, because that is all they are. Perhaps you will care to adopt these usages.

An honorary member of the KKK knows full well about white supremacy. Biden was a bed buddy of Robert Byrd.

he had it right. It’s beningly and dishonestly packaged as ‘white Christian nationalism’ which is just the 2025 iteration of the KKK. Their motto comes from their leader,Trump. “Immigrants are poisoning our blood’..

White supremacists are a vanishingly tiny group; they almost don’t exist at all, and very rarely do any harm.

That’s why there are so many “hate crime” hoaxes, because the demand for such crimes overwhelmingly exceeds the actual supply. There was once a time when would-be race hustlers didn’t need to invent crimes, because unfortunately there were enough of them already; all they had to do was hitch their wagons to that reality and ride along. But those days are long gone.

Trump never once said “immigrants are poisoning our blood”. That is a total libel. He said, correctly, that the Biden administration was poisoning the blood of our country, by letting untold millions stream unchecked over the border, including vicious, violent gangs, killers, robbers, and rapists, who come here to prey on us.

Since the first Republican president, the Democrat response was always murder. Lincoln was facing death threats before he took office, and a Democrat eventually did kill him.

The four presidential assassins so far have been one Democrat, one Republican, one anarchist, and one communist. Assassinated presidents have been three Republicans and one Democrat. The Republican assassin killed a Republican president. The Democrat and anarchist killed Republicans as well. The communist killed a Democrat.

Make of all that what you will. In my opinion, due to the small sample size, it’s completely meaningless.

It’s a way larger sample size if you include all the Democrats that tried but were too inept to succeed. Counting only the successful ones is what introduces your bias.

Garfield’s assassin wasn’t a RINO. He was a genuine Republican activist. And the anarchist and communist were not Democrats. They were just as much against the Democrats as against the Republicans.

Henry, most failed would-be presidential assassins don’t seem to have been Democrats. Most seem not to have been political at all. Hinckley, for instance, first tried for Carter before shooting Reagan.

Perhaps the most interesting thing about Czolgosz, other than he was inspired by a woman, was that McKinley (or is it Denali) died on September 14 and Czolgosz was executed in the electric chair October 29, less than two months later. Try that today.

Some would-be leftist assassins were so inept that they never even got a shot off. Squeaky Fromme. Trump’s golf-course guy. Sai Varshith Kandula. Widen the field.

None of the posts described in this post or in the NY Post article are criminal. All are protected speech. I understand the Secret Service wanting to have a polite conversation with him, but that is not grounds for arrest, and therefore also not grounds for the search that allegedly found the cocaine. Unless he made an actual threat which the NY Post neglected to report, this man’s civil liberties have been violated and the constitution has been flouted.

We cannot be the sort of country where a person is afraid to express his opinion, however violent or unpopular, for fear of arrest. The constitution is more important than public safety. It has to be, because if it isn’t then we can throw at least the 2nd, 4th, 5th, and 6th amendments into the garbage.

Many thousands of crimes would be prevented if the government could ignore those amendment, if the police could arrest anyone and search anywhere they liked, if people didn’t have the right to silence, due process, a jury trial, and all those other rights. But we don’t do that because the rights those amendments protect are more important that the crimes that would be prevented, more important than the lives saved, the rapes and robberies prevented, etc. The first amendment is no different, and the president is no different.

I’m tired of the media searching for deep meaning and trends stemming from the occasional, statistically expected actions, of a few mentally ill people in a country of over 300 million.

Exactly. The Supreme Court already ruled after the Reagan shooting that a government employee who was heard to say “Next time I hope they get him” not only could not be arrested or prosecuted for that statement (which she was not), but could not even be fired from her job (which she had been)! The government was required to keep on employing her, because firing her was a penalty for protected speech.

How is anything this guy said different from that?

regardless of the politics, good to see the treasury boys & girls doing a bit of pro-active police work–this guy has now been booked, printed photographed and entered into the system and likely given a “friendly” warning about how the usss deals with potential assassins

historical note: the word “assassin” had its origins in a term used to describe a muslim terrorist who murdered christians during the crusades

Can’t make this up: Atkins owns a bakery named Big Momma’s House and is a drag queen.
