Republican Chinese Immigrant Brings the Fire to House Debate with Jake Sullivan’s Wife

Republican Chinese Immigrant Brings the Fire to House Debate with Jake Sullivan’s Wife

“You absolutely have to watch Jake Sullivan’s wife get roasted in broken English, it will make your day.”

Rarely has a political debate been as entertaining as Thursday night’s showdown between Democrat Maggie Goodlander, aka U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan’s wife, and her feisty Republican opponent, Lily Tang Williams. The two are vying for the open seat to represent New Hampshire’s Second Congressional District in Washington, D.C. The candidates could hardly be more different.

According to Tang Williams’s campaign website, she was “born to illiterate working-class parents in China’s western Sichuan province just before Mao’s Cultural Revolution.” She “grew up experiencing extremely poor living conditions, food rationing, social chaos, and Communist indoctrination.”

Tang Williams arrived in the U.S. in 1988 to attend university, and since then, her trajectory has been upward and onward. Her campaign’s slogan, Fighting for Liberty, and mission statement, “Lily is an American entrepreneur and educator who is fighting to prevent the country she loves from becoming the country she left,” tell us everything we need to know about this strong, dynamic, and impressive woman.

Memories of life under the tyranny and oppression of communist party rule have left her with a profound sense of gratitude for the freedom and the opportunity she discovered in America. A professional speaker and an activist, she shares her story about the horrors of her early years to inspire people to value their American heritage.

Goodlander, born and bred in New Hampshire, currently serves as a Deputy Assistant Attorney General at the Department of Justice. She has a stellar education and a glittering resume. Her campaign website boasts, “Driven by her belief that no politician is above the law, Maggie served as counsel in the first impeachment of former President Donald Trump.”

The NH Journal, a local media outlet, reported that Goodlander “hasn’t voted in the state’s Second Congressional District since 2008.”

The two women faced off against each other on Thursday night in Manchester. The NH Journal described the debate as a “political fistfight.” What transpired was a struggle between Goodlander’s elitism and Tang Williams’s common sense, and by all accounts, common sense won.

Attorney and editor Will Chamberlain posted the following exchange on X, with the caption, “You absolutely have to watch Jake Sullivan’s wife get roasted in broken English, it will make your day.”

Among other issues discussed in the clip below, Tang Williams hits Goodlander for pretending to be a “renter” in her first interview after entering the race. Goodlander told the Boston Globe “I am a renter, and there should be more renters in Congress.” But it was soon revealed that she and Sullivan had purchased a home in a separate district of the state in 2018 for $1.2 million.

Tang told Goodlander to go back to her $2 million mansion.

According to the NH Journal, when Goodlander was asked about the persistent inflation that is crushing family budgets, she “dismissed the question.” She said, “We could take an hour to debate and talk about these costs.”

In another fiery exchange, the powerhouse goes after Goodlander for not condemning Biden after he called Trump supporters “garbage.”

Journalist Jonathan Choe described the race as “wild” in a post on X. He wrote, “Democrat Maggie Goodlander had no idea what hit her after Republican challenger Lily Tang Williams went on a rampage.”

There’s no doubt that Tang Williams aggressive posture helped her prospects on Thursday night. Hopefully, it’s not a case of too little, too late. The NH Journal reported that her campaign has been massively outspent by the Goodlander campaign. The media outlet noted that Tang Williams “has yet to air a single television ad, so Thursday’s debate marked her best shot at selling herself and her candidacy to NH-02 district voters.”

This would explain why Goodlander is currently prevailing. That said, only three polls have been conducted so far in this race. The most recent, released by Saint Anselm College on Oct. 3, showed Goodlander with a 12-point lead.

The debate proved that Goodlander is as out of touch with the average American as her husband, the repellent Jake Sullivan. There’s every reason to believe that, after Tang Williams’s strong performance, some constituents will change their minds. Whether it’s enough to sway the outcome remains to be seen.

Not a chance….she’s wasted in that state.

I wouldn’t say Tang Williams has no chance. New Hampshire does have a rebellious/independent streak, unique among the solidly leftist New England states.

But, yeah, it’s unfortunate that the state isn’t as solidly conservative as it could be.

The problem is that although NH2 stretches from the Mass border up the CT River to Canada it is dominated population wise by Nashua in the south and Hanover farther north. Both areas firmly Democrat with Nashua and the surrounding southern area overrun by people for Massachusetts and Hanover the location of Dartmouth. It looks giant but the area north of RT 2 with which I am very familiar is large and mostly conservative but is sparsely populated.

Saw this earlier. Sullivan’s wife? Talk about an entitled DC insider! Progressive through and through. At this time, America needs less of her type making policy decisions.

Fabulous; I hope Ms. Tang Williams wins that race.

Note how our American citizen-patriots who’ve experienced tyranny, poverty and oppression in Cuba, Venezuela, communist China, and in many other despotic states better appreciate our freedoms, recognize their intrinsic fragility and understood the threat that the vile, evil and stupid Dhimmi-crat totalitarians pose to those freedoms, far better than the utterly useless, subversive, leftist, Boston-NYC-D.C. elites of the Swamp, boasting myriad degrees from supposedly enlightened institutions of higher learning.

I like Lily! She’s awesome. She reminds me of the people we used to see fleeing from Communist China (and those fleeing from the Soviet Union, too, who were so surprised to find American dems yearning for the exact sort of insane communism that these people had just fled from.

The fall of the USSR was one of the saddest days ever for American democrats. They’ll never forgive Reagan or conservatives for that.

If DJT wins and Tang Williams loses, I hope he appoints her to Jake Sullivan’s job. Ha!

I’d gladly swap my English language skills for Lily’s if I could debate on stage the way she can. Marvelous!

She is just heavily accented, but her English is not particularly broken.

If it is, then Kamala Harris’ language is broken beyond repair.

What I could comprehend, I applauded, but her thick accent, coupled with the atrocious sound quality of the “professional” clip (gee, the first 15 seconds were clear as a bell, so it can be done) left me dependent on the closed captioning, which was also awful.

Goodlander is a born and bred NH socialist. The woke NH Dems must love her.

Lily beat Goodlander like a rented mule!

There is no greater advocate of freedom and the free market that a person raised under conditions where it didn’t/doesn’t exist.

They have a personal understanding and experience that Marxist Democrats and their proles in college will never have unless they drag us into socialism/communism.

Mrs Williams is exactly the type of immigrant that I am proud to call a fellow American.

I was privileged to live in the DC area during the influx of anti-communist Vietnamese refugees. Sterling people, hard-working, and upstanding.

Make Common Sense Common Again.

I tell my fellow conservatives in conversation that conservatism is simply common sense. That’s it. Lock criminals up; don’t coddle them. Protect unborn babies from infanticide. Don’t promote obnoxiously misogynist, child/teen-abusing/-manipulating/-mutilating tranny narcissism and pathologies. Support Jews, the indigenous people of the middle east; not genocidal and belligerent Arab “Palestinian” invaders/terrorists/Muslim supremacists from Arabia. Support corporations, businesses and entrepreneurs; don’t vilify and undermine them. Don’t spend money you don’t have. Promote a secure border and lawful immigration, not open borders and illegal aliens. Etc., etc.

You just know goodlander is racist beyond all the south’s slave owners. I’d have liked to be a fly in her limo after the debate for the meltdown.

Williams has not run a single TV ad! What’s going on; where has the NRCC been? The NRC? BigRed? It may be too late, but at least the Goodlander-Sullivan relationship has been outed, at least to some of us. Imagine, Jake Sullivan, chief of staff for newly elected congresswoman Goodlander. The Obama-Biden administration marches on. Brother, does that smell. Good for you New Hampshire. Good for us. Good for the Middle East.

Perhaps we should all be aware of these incestuous Swamp relationships, but how can you keep up with them? There are so damn many. Spouses, family members, “partners,” business contacts, the media, Gates/Zuckerberg moguls, the press, lobbyists, NGOs, staff lifers, and a myriad collection of non-descript Swamp groupies. The list is endless. What a disgrace.

Good luck, Mrs. Williams. A great many of us wish you well.

I *think* she was a surprise win in NH’s primary in September. And with tons of national money flowing to the D.C. insider Dem candidate, she must have seemed like a bad bet.

Fingers crossed, though. NH has a lot less early voting than most states, so a late surge in attention like this could put her over the top.

Anyone else thinking that Goodlander and Sullivan sleep in separate rooms?

guyjones in reply to ChrisPeters. | November 3, 2024 at 2:54 am

That seems par for the course, where the marriages of Dhimmi-crat apparatchiks are concerned. I doubt crone Clinton and Bill even sleep in the same house or town/city, on any given night. They’ve always had a “marriage” of political convenience.

henrybowman in reply to guyjones. | November 3, 2024 at 3:59 pm

One of my favorite Clinton jokes of all time has Bill driving Hill up to a mountain cabin in the Berkshires. He stops for gas in Newton, and when Hillary sees the clerk behind the counter, she gets out of the car, greets him warmly by name, and spends five minutes chatting with him. When she gets back to the car, Bill asks her, “Who was that guy?” Hillary tells him he was her boyfriend for two years when she was going to Wellesley. Bill chuckles. “Good thing you dropped him and married me, or you’d be pumping gas in Massachusetts right now.” Hillary replies, “If I had married him, he’d be President of the US, and you’d be pumping gas in Little Rock.”

Who was the commenter just about a week ago complaining that we elect foreign-born leaders from communist countries?

Wow, that was one of the most brutal thing I’ve seen. Why didn’t the Republican Party step in to help a little in that race?

I know a fierce, female Liz Warren supporter. She is quite poor and struggles with grocery and medical bills. When I point out Warren’s lavish lifestyle and hypocrisy she couldn’t care less. I have concluded that she is simply living vicariously and imagines herself as Liz in an alternate dream world. So many women are soft minded that they prefer to retreat into a comfortable fantasy rather than struggle with the hard realties over which they have no control regardless. Men want to slap Goodlander and women want to be her.

The sad thing is the big money Republicans didn’t help this authentic fighter. Probably gave all the money to the typical squish country club Republicans who will give Trump nothing but trouble in his second term. Shame, but it validates why I no longer donate.

With no TV ads, in this day and age, you cannot keep your light under a basket and expect positive results.

henrybowman in reply to Romey. | November 3, 2024 at 3:50 pm

TV is nearly passé. I see all my political ads nowadays on streaming services and even in the margins of internet games (and I’m talking cerebral things like Sudoku and crosswords, not Call of Duty), And I am depressed that they have all been Kamala, Kamala, Kamala.

LIlly reminds me of the Hmong that escaped Vietnam or Cubans swimming to freedom. They are fiercely patriotic and love this country as they have suffered under Communism and know there is no where else to go if America is destroyed.

Loudly speak the truth to cowardly commies and they fold like a piss soaked paper bag
