Top White House Health Official Regrets Working with Fauci to Downplay COVID-19 Lab-Leak Theory

In a Sky Net Australia exclusive, Dr. Robert Kadlec says: ““I wake up at usually about 2 or 3am and think about it honestly, because it’s something that we all played a role in.”

Sky News Australia has an exclusive interview with a former Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) official, who says he downplayed the COVID-19 lab leak theory alongside former National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) Director Dr. Anthony Fauci.

The former Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response at the US Department of Health, Dr Robert Kadlec, has told Sky News he feels obligated to reveal confidential discussions he had with Dr Fauci, America’s top infectious diseases adviser, about diverting attention away from the lab leak theory.

In his first television interview, to air on Sky News on Tuesday night, he also warns of another pandemic emerging from high-risk experiments in laboratories globally, saying the lessons from Covid-19 haven’t been learnt.

“The tools of science to do this kind of synthetic biology, this risky research has not been limited to China. It happens in the United States. It’s happening in a lot of places in the world and we could have another one of these (pandemics) if we don’t accept that,” he says in the new Sky News documentary “What Really Happened in Wuhan, the Next Chapter.”

Dr Kadlec, who worked for presidents George W. Bush and Donald Trump and lead American efforts to develop a Covid-19 vaccine, said his intention in initially downplaying a lab leak was to encourage co-operation from China in the early days of the outbreak.

But the public denial of the lab leak theory spiralled and the proposition Covid may have leaked from the Wuhan Institute of Virology turned into a conspiracy.

“I wake up at usually about 2 or 3am and think about it honestly, because it’s something that we all played a role in,” Dr Kadlec says.

Legal Insurrection will likely recall our many reports on the lab leak being a reasonable and credible theory based on real science.

I started in February 2020 when I noted that Chinese university researchers believed the virus might have originated in a government laboratory in Wuhan.

Stories our team has covered since that time support the assertion that covid’s origins were from a lab leak from the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

Legal Insurrection readers may also recall our report on the Chinese coronavirus investigator who fell from a roof after filing a covid vaccine patent 2 months before China reported the outbreak.

Intelligence obtained by members of the US Senate reveals that Zhou Yusen filed a patent for a Covid-19 vaccine on February 24, 2020, barely a month after China put Wuhan into lockdown because of the outbreak.

US vaccine developers told investigators that it would have been impossible to have generated the data cited in the patent so swiftly – it would have taken about three months’ work, meaning that scientists at the Wuhan Institute for Virology were secretly working on a Covid vaccine in November, two months before Beijing told the world about the pandemic.

Zhou, who worked for the People’s Liberation Army and was collaborating with Wuhan scientists at the time of the outbreak, died in mysterious circumstances in May 2020, aged 54.

US investigators are said to have been told ‘Zhou fell from the roof of the Institute’, although this has not been confirmed.

Kadlec considered the scenario that Yusen’s death was linked to the outbreak “certainly possible.”

Three months after filing his patent, the scientist mysteriously died when he ‘fell from the roof of the institute.’

Dr Kadlec believes it was during Dr Yusen’s research that the virus escaped from the WIV and sparked a global health emergency.

Dr Kadlec said: ‘It looked like he was censored as a consequence of whatever happened. Our evidence would suggest that something happened while he was doing his work, which we believe was when the virus first emerged.

‘And whether he was held accountable either through some formal proceeding or not, he was certainly dead by July (2020).’

Asked by Sky News if it was possible Dr Yusen was killed for starting the pandemic, Dr Kadlec told the outlet: ‘It’s certainly possible, we considered that as a plausible possibility, however, we had no evidence to make that assessment.’

All of these are good fact to keep in mind as we monitor reports about the mysterious respiratory illness striking children in China.

It will also be interesting to see if the Biden administration begins to position Fauci for tossing under the bus.

No, the Biden admin will keep protecting Fauci.

No forgiveness.

Is he sincere, or making a last ditch attempt to pull his fat out of the fire?

To what end? He will never get his reputation back and the only reason I can fathom for this sudden mea culpa is if he is afraid of being tied to Fauci if a lawsuit is filed.

The malfeasance of the NIH/CDC/FDA is so pronounced that this doctor had no comprehension of the corruption and evil that characterizes these agencies. Both Fauci and Birx have admitted they saw an opportunity to destroy Trump and took it. They lied about recommendations the WH physicians made such as Ivermectin and HCQ that were taken straight off the NIH and CDC websites. The personnel in these agencies personally benefited with NIH and CDC “researchers” getting royalties on patents paid for by the public, stock ownership in Moderna and Pfizer, and seats on the Board and in high six figure positions for the FDA corruptocrats who approved these deadly, ineffective, dangerous v”vaccines”.

Yes, it was exactly to destroy President Trump

He was vilified for stating he believed the China flu came from Wuhan lab… vilified

And vilified for encouraging the use of HCQ and Ivermectin

    F-K them all…

People would have been better off with HCQ and Ivermectin, but that would not lines Fauci’s and Pharma pockets.

healthguyfsu in reply to gonzotx. | November 28, 2023 at 10:12 pm

I downvoted you because neither HCQ nor ivermectin work and it’s not a conspiracy. They aren’t even in a class of drugs that affects viruses. You should stop clinging to those narratives merely for convenience.

That said, there is the threads of a true conspiracy to conceal the origins of the virus and that was to protect swampcrats like Fauci. Stick with that.

I downvoted you because I doubt you know as much as certainly as you think you do.

        JohnSmith100 in reply to healthguyfsu. | November 28, 2023 at 11:05 pm

What they did do was temper people’s immune response which was destroying organs. Many countries used them successfully.

ThePrimordialOrderedPair in reply to healthguyfsu. | November 28, 2023 at 11:48 pm

It’s one thing to claim that HCQ or Ivermectin are ineffective. So what? Lots of drugs are prescribed for all sorts of things that are ineffective. People take them on hope and because they have a choice.

What was CRIMINAL was the left claiming that HCQ and Ivermectin were extremely dangerous and would kill you (and everyone within 10 feet of you) if you took them. That was complete and utter BS. HCQ and Ivermectin are among the safest drugs in the entire pharmacopeia. They have been dosed out BILLIONS of times on Earth and the number of side effects from them are vanishingly small. You could hardly find any safer drugs than HCQ and Ivermectin. SO, even if they are ineffective, doctors are allowed to prescribe them off-label (most prescriptions in AMerica have been off-label use for years) and people should have had the opportunity to get them without having to fight local tyrants in the hospitals and behind the pharmacy counters. And the governors who banned them in their states and threatened the licenses of doctors who prescribed them all need to be thrown in prison and the key thrown away.

I don’t disagree with you there about the heinously unethical acts of the Biden admin. However, I see I triggered a lot of “truthers” who will cling to whatever throws mud at the other side.

There is a way to be objective and realistic without being swayed by internet mud. Ivermectin was never shown to be helpful in a reliable study. It’s funny how made in the USA (in this case I’m referring to the research) is the mantra of many until it is inconvenient.

And dont’ whatabout with the COVID vaccine. Neither have been shown to be effective long-term and I didn’t even bring it up. It turns out the protective effect of the COVID vaccine is 6 months, and I don’t think the risk outweighs the benefits for most people since a recent and latent COVID infection is likely to trigger an outsized reaction to the vaccine.

However, the niche market for the COVID vaccine is the immunocompromised/extreme elderly. Their immune system is unlikely to provoke a strong reaction and they receive the biggest benefit against the virus itself.!/

I can post as many of these studies that say it works as you can that says it doesn’t. The problem is that Ivermectin is effective when used as a prophylactic not after several days of infection. It must be used as either a preventative or at the initial outset of signs of infection. Side effects are rare and do not include death, heart problems, blood clotting etc that the Covid19 innoculations cause.

I think the bigger question is why Big Pharma and the Government went so hard after Ivermectin and pushed the Covid innoculations even to the extent of massive fraud on the effectiveness of them.

          healthguyfsu in reply to diver64. | November 29, 2023 at 6:52 pm

The cherry picked ones that say it works have been widely discredited. Is there a motive? Likely…but not the one you think.

Researchers publish to advance their careers but their reputation is on the line. In the US, our system is harsher than most on misconduct and is better at catching it (still not great). Thus, the risks to one’s reputation do not outweigh the benefits of another pub. Only desperate people do such things. During COVID, it was decided that studies could go out prior to peer review in the effort to get them noticed and improve the experience of communication. However, it had the side effect of creating clingers that took it as gospel truth. It is far from it and Biden’s scorched earth policies were an awful match for this setup.

The government was trying out the fancy new car (and recklessly pushing it on people) rather than the cheap old one. The fact that fancy new car turned out to be heavily flawed doesn’t make the cheap old one dependable.

Ivermectin , that’s an interesting one. It is actually know to have antiviral affects, though an anti parasite med. Go to your pharmacology class and check. If you Google it, you will only find meta analysis and studies showing it doesn’t work. If you use Dogpile as your search engine you find numerous meta analysis and studies showing it does work. Google clearly hides studies showing showing efficacy.

“I downvoted you because neither HCQ nor ivermectin work and it’s not a conspiracy.”

        Define ‘work’.

Do you mean like the vaccine? The one that does not stop transmission or infection?

Or do you mean ‘work’ like most medications used to treat clod and flu type viruses? Ameliorate symptoms and provide some preventative action?

Because both ivermectin and HCQ do actually do the latter.

They HELP– which is all they were ever said to do. But that HELP could mean the difference between feeling miserable until it runs it’s course or dying

The conspiracy is revealed in how quickly and totally these completely safe, in use for decades, drugs were reviled and, in many cases prohibited.

        herm2416 in reply to healthguyfsu. | November 29, 2023 at 8:51 am

You do realize ivermectin was patented by Merck. The patent ran out, thus it was no longer a moneymaker.

DaveGinOly in reply to healthguyfsu. | November 29, 2023 at 9:38 pm

Just for starters, three of several papers in my Covid research library concerning the use of Ivermectin:

Japanese researchers early on noticed that there were African countries that were practically untouched by Covid, and that some had neighbors who were as bad off as anywhere in the world. When they looked at the situation, they noticed the well-off countries used Ivermectin as a prophylactic against parasites, while those countries experiencing pandemic-level infections used other anti-parasitical medicines.

Whether or not Ivermectin or HCQ work is politically academic. Fauci had to suppress even the possibility that an alternative to Big Pharma’s vaxxes worked. Because if a single, already-approved and safety-tested medication was effective against Covid, the EUAs (emergency use authorizations) could not have been issued for the vaxxes, and the gravy train would not have stopped at the station.

Studies have, in fact, indicated that it’s likely both Ivermectin and HCQ do work against Covid; there are known and theoretical biochemical pathways through which they could prevent or treat infection with SARS-CoV-2.

Please do try to keep up with the science.

He accidentally fell from the roof of the institute. Three times. The second time killed him, but they were having such fun he fell once more for good measure.

Biden saw that in a gangster movie once, but this time it was Ulyia Lenovitch instead of Tony Bologna and the Kapuso brothers performing the task.

Isn’t this special. Sorry chump, too little, too late. You may not face a Nuremberg tribunal for crimes against humanity in this life (but you should), but I pray you will be held accountable in the hereafter.

“Chen Zhaozhi (陈兆志), a retired professor in Beijing #China, was sentenced three years and six months of prison time for just one sentence he said: “The Covid-19 virus is a #CCP virus.”

The photo shows bruising from where the police gripped Chen’s upper arms.

said his intention in initially downplaying a lab leak was to encourage co-operation from China in the early days of the outbreak.

I find this explanation plausible but it doesn’t explain why it took him this long to speak out.

Lucifer Morningstar in reply to diver64. | November 29, 2023 at 8:17 am

It’s just all more insincere Mea Culpa, Mea Maxima Culpa! as the democrats attempt to rehabilitate their image in the run up to the 2024 presidential election now that people are beginning to understand the length and depth of democrat’s acts & actions (both legal & illegal) during the pandemic.

He isn’t telling us anything that we didn’t already know.

Expect more of these insincere confessions as the 2024 presidential elections get closer & closer.

No argument from me. I just said that explanation sounded plausible. No-one, lol, knew what was going on so for some doctors trying to get to the bottom of it the only path was getting China to cooperate and criticizing them right off the bat (see what I did there) wasn’t going to help anything although it was obvious where the virus came from. Fauci knew exactly where it came from.

It was an IQ test. Anyone that actually believed Covid originated in a wet market that just happened to be right next to a leaky bioresearch lab that specifically performed gain of function research on bat viruses has a sub 100 IQ.

More like a CQ test (Corruption Quotient).

I was sceptical from the outset but remember, we didn’t know exactly what kind of research that lab did for quite some time and everyone including Fauci lied to keep us in the dark as long as he could.

DaveGinOly in reply to Canadian Mike. | November 29, 2023 at 9:41 pm

I believe the WIV was located where it was (in Wuhan, and relatively close to a wet market) so that the market could provide plausible deniability of the lab’s responsibility in the event of an escape.

These references to alleged “leaks” are naive — as if it’s completely impossible for the malevolent and malignant Chinese communist regime to have released the Wuhan virus intentionally, in order to prevent President Trump’s easy re-election.

guyjones in reply to guyjones. | November 29, 2023 at 11:51 am

I don’t ascribe alleged “accidental” behavior to the Chinese communist regime when it can plausibly be alleged to be grounded in intentional and planned action. The cunning, deviousness, malevolence and depravity of the Chinese communists has been ignored and/or downplayed by western powers and Dhimmi-crat and GOP leaders, for a long time.

It’s simply naive to believe that an intentional Wuhan virus release is beyond the realm of possibility. Stalin killed millions of his own people; who honestly believes that the Chinese apparatchiks give a damn about the welfare of their own citizens, if they can stick it to the west?

DaveGinOly in reply to guyjones. | November 29, 2023 at 9:46 pm

Think about it. If you had weaponized a virus in a lab and wanted to release it intentionally, would you release at the doorstep of the lab, or would you distribute it somewhere not only distant from the lab, but to assure rapid transmission across the globe? The evil genius in me would have released the virus in the Hong Kong International Airport, and I’m only half as evil as the ChiComs. Do I doubt they’re capable of an intentional release? No. But I do believe they would have gone about it in a manner calculated to misdirect attention from at least the lab in which the agent was developed, if not to misdirect attention from China altogether. This practical consideration leads me to conclude that release was accidental.

Dear Dr. Kadlec,

Other lessons not learnt were honesty and integrity, which should have been instilled in you during childhood. You are a cheap careerist with a fancy degree and a snug government pension.

Lucifer Morningstar | November 29, 2023 at 8:24 am

. . . he also warns of another pandemic emerging from high-risk experiments in laboratories globally, saying the lessons from Covid-19 haven’t been learnt.

But the most important lesson was learnt. Just how far and for how long can a government of a Western country go to run rough shod over the rights of their citizens during a so-called “public health emergency.

And the answer is, “As far as they want and for as long as they want.”

The lesson was learnt very well.

Perhaps the biggest crime is no punishment or retribution to Chinkmaster Xi and Chinkland. All the havoc and expense they caused …. What’s the penalty? Wuhan should be a glass parking lot.

“ Dr Kadlec, who worked for presidents George W. Bush and Donald Trump and lead American efforts to develop a Covid-19 vaccine…”
Are there no editors?

It wasn’t a lab ‘leak’.

When Fauci et al said that they weren’t lying.

It didn’t ‘leak’ accidently from the lab where it was created.

    diver64 in reply to Azathoth. | November 29, 2023 at 6:27 pm

3 researchers at the lab became sick and were admitted to the hospital. They were sloppy in the lab, contracted Covid then spread it in the hospital and when it was realized in China what happened it was too late. One scientist disappeared and another fell off the roof. I doubt China was overly impressed either but they are to blame.
