Parents Protest Pride Event at Elementary School in North Hollywood, CA

People all over the country are drawing the line for pride celebrations when it comes to kids. In North Hollywood, California, parents objected to a pride celebration at an elementary school.

Who can blame them? How is this appropriate for kids who are in grades K through 3?

ABC 7 in California reports:

LGBTQ Pride event at North Hollywood elementary school draws protest, heightened security

Heightened security was in place at Saticoy Elementary School in North Hollywood Friday as some protested a Pride Month recognition at the campus, sparking complaints that the topic is one that should be left for parents to teach rather than having it imposed on kids at school.

Parents who are opposed to the Pride event created an Instagram account to express displeasure with the move, calling for other parents to keep their kids home from school on Friday in a form of protest against the planned assembly.

The parents’ message was on display before they even began gathering Friday. At least two trailers were parked right across the school covered in large signs that read “Leave our kids alone.”

Crowds of protesters, as well as counter-protesters, started gathering around 8 a.m. outside the school with Los Angeles police officers nearby.

Police struggled to keep the parent protesters and the pro-pride crowd apart. Watch:

Here’s a video report from the ground which emphasizes that these parents are not anti-gay, they simply want little kids left out of this.

Here’s more from FOX News:

North Hollywood parent boycotting school’s pride assembly, says its inappropriate topic for kids under ten

A California parent is upset about their kids school hosting a Pride assembly told Fox News Digital the school district should not be teaching minors LGBTQ content.

Manuk, the father of four, said teaching about LGBTQ issues “is not an appropriate topic for anybody under the age of ten years old.”

“If anything, I should be the one to teach them about the birds and the bees, so to say, not the school. The school’s job is to teach them about reading, writing, and algebra,” Manuk said…

Manuk told Fox News Digital that when parents in the North Hollywood community heard that the school was hosting a Pride assembly, they banned together to raise awareness about the event.

They created an Instagram account called Saticoy Elementary Parents to update other parents and the community on their protest scheduled.

The objections of these parents are very much like those who object to drag queen story hour events.

Why do small kids need to be involved in any of this?

Good. Need more of it. Draw a hard line on this. The Dems and their street allies intend to target children.

You do not need to be religious to know that pride is a sin. But that must be celebrated, for a month no less. By the time the month is out, even the prideful may be nauseous. Fake performance art shoved down the throats of regular people, who must cower or face recrimination. True tolerance!

Pride? How about shame? It’s an overblown hustle designed for power and to divide people that were not divided beforehand. Not just for kids, but virtually everyone.

Good to see more parents stepping into the fray. Such domestic terrorists! Along with other things happening in society, it shows the sea change that started awhile ago is accelerating. The public becomes more aware of the hoaxes and misdeeds thrust upon us. The question is whether or not the “pride” can be overcome.

Pride and prejudice. Bigotry (e.g. “Respect for Marriage Act”) writ large. Politically congruent (“=”) constructs and selective exclusion under diversity doctrine. That said, the transgender spectrum has no redeeming value to society or humanity, yet people who subscribe to the Pro-Choice ethical religion (e.g. human rites, cargo cults, social justice, social liberalism) celebrate it with men in women’s locker rooms, two men and a womb, grooming boys at school, church, scouts etc. Then there is Levine’s Dreams of Herr Mengele.

That said, this month we celebrate the polyamorous love of prides: lions, lionesses, and their [unPlanned] cubs playing in gay parade on the African savanna. #HateLovesAbortion

Yesterday I got an advance newsletter from my grandson’s summer (arts) camp, entitled “Pride Rock Post.” My first reaction, given that we live in a conservative cowboy town, was, WTF? Then I realized that the camp performance this year is “The Lion King,” and “Pride Rock” is one of the story’s settings. How confusing. Still, I will be watching closely…

Too many people confuse pride with respect or self-respect. In Hebrew pride is ‘gayva’ respect (or honor) is kavod and self-respect is kavod atzmai.

Having self respect and having pride are two very different concepts.

Doing this at an elementary school can only serve one of two purposes:
1. Propaganda, introduce 6-11 years olds to LGBTQ despite their tender age and the wishes of the Parents, in an effort to normalize
2. The first step towards Grooming kids that any of the normal adolescent chaos/confusion means they are either gay or trans.

Either of these is inappropriate. It’s time Parents and members of the community push back against the indoctrinated of kids. Make it a struggle and issue for the purveyors of this agenda to have to overcome each and every time.

There is another possibility, though it is based in false assumptions and bad math. I recently read a transcript of a conversation among teachers in which several of the participants appeared to hold the belief that homosexuality and even “born in the wrong body” transgenderism are naturally occurring phenomenon rather than a result of lived experience or psychological problems. With that false belief in mind, they then conclude that in any given classroom, some — perhaps one or two, of the children may have been “born” homosexual or trans. Their math leading them to think that any classroom might have one or two such persons (“born that way”) is way-off even from the CDC’s study during Obama’s second term which showed homosexuals at about 0.8% of the population, and bisexuals at about 0.4% of the population — and that from an administration that had ample reason to over-inflate those stats.

U.S. public school classrooms are typically about 30 kids each — so by using the CDC’s percentages, even three classrooms full of children (90 kids) might not have a single child “born that way.” And yet the teachers’ discussion transcript showed that some of the participants -believed- it as a -given- that every classroom would have -at- -least- one kid who was “born that way” and who ought to have the support of the teachers to reassure such kid(s) that they are “normal” and “healthy” in their feelings about their sexuality.

I concluded from reading the transcript that at least some teachers -actually- -believe- that they are helping the minority of children who they think are “born that way”, which is most likely to be ZERO kids in any given classroom, using the CDC study’s percentage of population.

Nothing in their conversation transcript indicated that any of the teachers in the discussion had even considered that “born that way” might simply be -wrong-, and in which case rather than helping anyone at all, they are merely misleading 100% of the kids in the classes.

CommoChief in reply to BoboPhat. | June 3, 2023 at 3:02 pm

Yeah I can see that possibility but the fact remains Elementary School age kids should not be a captive audience for social experimentation.

BoboPhat in reply to CommoChief. | June 3, 2023 at 5:53 pm

Yes, certainly. It does however give some hope that at least some of the teachers aren’t doing it intentionally to harm students, but rather out of a mistaken belief that it might potentially help (psychologically) some vanishingly few students if any at all, and the possible quantity of which they seem to be wildly over-estimating.

CommoChief in reply to BoboPhat. | June 3, 2023 at 6:44 pm

They are intentionally serving up ideological indoctrination of elementary age kids despite the wishes of the Parents and in some cases deliberately concealing that from Parents.

The problem with d/prog is their focus on intentions and not outcome. It doesn’t matter why one does X if the outcome of X is either illegal or immoral. They intended to do X and the reason why is immaterial.

BoboPhat in reply to CommoChief. | June 4, 2023 at 12:02 pm

“It doesn’t matter why one does X if the outcome of X is either illegal or immoral.”

By that reasoning, someone acting with bad intentions should be applauded if their scheme happens to accidentally result in a benefit for the intended victims. Sin is in the intent, not the outcome. We control our intent, only God controls the actual outcome. Deliberately trying to unjustly transgress against others (or unjustly and recklessly acting without regard for others) is sin/immoral.

      CanonF1 in reply to BoboPhat. | June 4, 2023 at 11:11 am

Do you have a link to that survey/analyis? The only survey results I can find on the internet reference a CDC study done in 2013 with a NHIS report published in July of 2014. The 2014 report puts homosexuals at 1.6% and bisexuals at 0.7% of the population.

I completely agree with the the idea that some teachers really believe they are helping kids, but I would argue that teachers should not be influencing K-5 to feel anyway about their sexuality. Thats a hot grounder for the parents to field.

Normally I wouldn’t bunch my knickers over tenths of percentages, but in this case we are talking twice the population percentages and I just want to make sure I have the most accurate information.

Here is a link to the data I found
      https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/nhsr/nhsr077.pdf

        BoboPhat in reply to CanonF1. | June 4, 2023 at 12:29 pm

No, sorry but I didn’t save the link to the data page at the time but it was definitely “new” when I read it in 2012, and I read it directly from the CDC website. I was surprised at the time, that the then-current administration was conceding the very low numbers. When I now try to search for it, I find instead -many- newer pages with higher percentages, which doesn’t surprise me given the massive push going-on to “normalize” the clearly abnormal. I don’t believe the more recent numbers, because there is currently too much social/political basis for those to be inflated. (Similar to the phenomenon of teenage girls cutting themselves, which went from next to zero real-world cases, to thousands of cases after widespread news coverage. In short, I’d expect that some number of people -now- would check the box as being LGBT something-or-other merely in a misguided effort to support what they believe to be a maligned minority group.)

We agree about the suitability of the subject. Teaching -biology- to children who can adequately understand the subject is fine regardless of age. Teaching “sexuality” on the other hand, isn’t good because it is not a well-defined area of knowledge suitable for school kids, and certainly cannot possibly be based in any actual science beyond mere statistics related to preference or the commonality of behaviors. The fact that something might be occurring to some degree does not confer its value as a school subject.

But at least if some teachers are merely recklessly ignorant in believing that every classroom would have an LGBT-whatever “born that way” kid who should be supported, then there is hope that actual evidence to the contrary could convince those teachers that their -reason- for so doing is simply wrong, and that there is no sound basis for indoctrinating school kids about aberrant sexual proclivities.

One possibility, groomers are sick f*ckers

I have the feeling that it’s really going to take parents getting violent with those people that trying to push this stuff. That’s not what I want to see, but that’s what I expected will actually take to get them to reconsider.

Until “those people” start identifying and doxing individual parents and taking their freak show to their family home. Going “door to door” is what happened in Sodom and Gomorrah before God weighed in on the issue.

      “Start?”

“They were circulating our address, our restaurant. They were saying ‘Burn it to the ground, burn it all down.’ My license plates, my kids’ profiles online,” Jason added. “We had teams of Loudoun County sheriff’s [deputies] that were here in our development, in our neighborhood, protecting us — making sure nothing was happening, checking in on us constantly making sure we are ok.”

“I was getting screenshots from people of houses burning – memes of houses burning – with my address underneath, people saying ‘let’s loot this place up tonight homies’. It was frightening,” Angela said.

(Oh, BTW, these Progressive thugs call themselves the “Loudoun Love Warriors.”)

Whitewall in reply to Ironclaw. | June 3, 2023 at 1:12 pm

Count on it. The ‘pride’ side backs down only when they take casualties. Their ‘moral certainty’ must be shaken badly.

henrybowman in reply to Ironclaw. | June 3, 2023 at 5:13 pm

Violence, like a firearm, is a morally neutral entity. The moral color is decided by whether the violence is aggressive or defensive. Claiming one is “anti-violence” simply shows ignorance.

Robert Heinlein points out: “Anyone who clings to the historically untrue—and thoroughly immoral—doctrine that ‘violence never settles anything’ I would advise to conjure up the ghosts of Napoleon Bonaparte and of the Duke of Wellington and let them debate it. The ghost of Hitler could referee, and the jury might well be the Dodo, the Great Auk, and the Passenger Pigeon. Violence, naked force, has settled more issues in history than has any other factor, and the contrary opinion is wishful thinking at its worst. Breeds that forget this basic truth have always paid for it with their lives and freedoms.”

Even the biggest pacifists expose their hypocrisy when asked about the legality of secession: “The Civil War settled that!” They assert this as if the war had been a proceeding of the Judicial Branch.

Gee, it would really be too bad if the parents found out the teachers and administrators that organized the assembly, and protested obnoxiously in front of their private homes. I would hope that they wouldn’t carry signs suggesting that the organizers were too pedo-friendly. No, no we wouldn’t want any unpleasantness visited upon the pedo-party organizers.

For the record: I’m on the parents’ side in this.

CommoChief in reply to The Gentle Grizzly. | June 3, 2023 at 3:08 pm

I never thought otherwise and hate that you felt compelled to say so. The topics are too advanced for Elementary School age kids. Common sense dictates that schools should not be exposing kids of such tender age to these views. Wait till 7/8 grade when all the serious hormones kick in but even then the schools shouldn’t use the kids as a captive audience to promote an agenda.

SeiteiSouther in reply to The Gentle Grizzly. | June 5, 2023 at 11:13 am

Didn’t think you were anything but. I have a nephew and a brother who’s gay, and this whole debacle is just making me isolationist. I love them with all my heart, and I know for a fact they just want to live their lives. But, these morons are taking it way to far and making all of them look terrible.

If the freaks want to be forced back into the closet, they can do that on their own. But, they don’t want to and now it’s getting to the point where others are all but forced to put them back in and throw away the key.

Sex and kids stirs up active opposition but the real problem is the crap teaching of junk sociology in general.

They literally want your 5 and 6 years olds having sex.

And if your brain ended that sentence with “with each other,” get it a tune-up, because it’s misfiring.

Marxists Seminaries have gone into elementary school figuring out the younger indoctrination works the best.

I’m proud of these parents.
The Pride-pushers should be ashamed of themselves!

In the video at least three Catholic priests at about 1:47:

“This faith leader stands with all who support diversity for all families and children.”

The priest at 1:47 makes certain he and his placard are filmed – he looks direct at the videographer as if to check that his moment on stage were properly captured for press release. He’s suppressing a smirk as he does his protest “flyby.” Possibly not even a real priest. What’s the white with green sash he’s wearing? (later he’s shown holding it folded in one hand) Does the sash identify his local order? Only worn for official Church spiritual business?

One of the “Catholic” priests is a overweight female. Catholics allow female clergy? Not my business. That’s for Pope to decide.

If you happen to be Catholic then do whatever it is laity are allowed to do to see that this sort of thing never happens again.

    n.n in reply to Tiki. | June 3, 2023 at 4:53 pm

These “Catholics” support abortion, diversity, and conversion therapy through mutilation, sterilization, and grooming. They proudly celebrate albinophobia under the Rainbow banner.

henrybowman in reply to Tiki. | June 3, 2023 at 5:33 pm

Not being familiar with other religions, I thought there were at least a couple others that copied vestments similar to Catholics, so I’m not 100% sure that priest was Catholic. I don’t see anybody else there who even resembles clergy. (No Catholics still don’t allow or recognize female clergy.)

Nevertheless, vestments aren’t like unit designators, their colors and patterns identify occasions and times of year such as Lent. A white stole is used for feast days of Christ, Mary, and non-martyred saints. It symbolizes innocence and purity of soul, a truly bad choice for that march.

It sure looks like the state is establishing a new organized system of beliefs, ceremonies, and rules used to worship DEI, (which handily also means god,) and punishes heretics and blasphemy.

texansamurai | June 3, 2023 at 4:03 pm

am wondering how many of the “pride” proponents at this event actually have kids enrolled in this particular school? or in this particular school district? or in ANY school district?

You’ll need to check the video again – two “clergy” wearing casual clergy shirts can be seen at some point in the video. I’d link the time but don’t feel like crawling through the video again. And, yeah, one of the two is a overweight female.

The vestment? That’s the white sash embossed or stitched with green lettering and symbols? Is that what it’s called? A vestment? He’s later holding it – not wearing it. Whatever it is is distinctive – not something grabbed off a shelf at Walmart.

That sash marks the supposed “clergyman.”

I’m only trying to figure out if the man is in “costume drag” or a truly ordained Catholic. Because I think they’re all fakes – aided and abetted by the slimy TV crew.

henrybowman in reply to Tiki. | June 3, 2023 at 7:13 pm

Oh, I thought they were all at that timestamp.

“Vestment” is the collection of ceremonial garb a priest wears that isn’t street clothes. A stole (sash) is one of the elements of a vestment. There’s a good primer here.
