Joint Chiefs Chairman Milley’s Replacement Even More Woke, If That is Possible

Joint Chiefs Chairman Milley’s Replacement Even More Woke, If That is Possible

Milley’s replacement, Air Force General Charles Q. Brown, has published a blatantly racist, quota-based personnel promotion document, while presiding over tanking recruiting and military readiness numbers.

We have long documented the checkered performance of Army General Mark A. Milley as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

It all started when Milley decided that a little back-channel undermining of a sitting president, namely Donald J. Trump, not to mention endangering national security might be a good idea: Joint Chiefs Chair Mark Milley Reportedly Promised To Alert China In Advance Of Attack:

According to a CNN report on an upcoming book by Bob Woodward and Robert Costa, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley all-but staged a coup against outgoing President Trump, going so far as to organize the national security apparatus to monitor and interfere with any Orders Trump may have given to the military. In the most startling claim, Milley reported secretly called the chief of the Chinese military to assure him that if the U.S. were to attack China, Milley would give the Chinese military advance notice.

But of course Milley didn’t resign.

He then presided over the botched withdrawal from Afghanistan, for which the U.S. military was completely unprepared: Report: Documents Show Biden Admin was Completely Unprepared for Afghanistan Withdrawal:

The Biden Administration’s evacuation of Afghanistan in August of 2021 was a disaster. Some analysts point to that moment as the beginning of Biden’s imploding poll numbers, as Americans were horrified by the images of people clinging to airplanes and falling to their deaths.

Newly leaked documents show that Biden and his team were completely unprepared for this moment.

Here is a small sample of what we, in our unprepared haste to depart Afghanistan, left behind:

Following that debacle, Milley has presided over:

1) The tanking of recruiting numbers for the military branches, Military Recruitment Crisis Underway as Biden Admin Continues Emphasis on Wokeness, Vaccine Mandates,

2) the adoption of woke policies such as DEI, CRT, and transgender integration throughout the military, Disturbing Reports From US Troops and ROTC Cadets of “Woke” Military Priorities, not to mention female soldiers being required to shower with transgender personnel who have male genitalia, Pentagon Burdens Warfighting Commanders with New Transgender Policies for Military Personnel,

3) the adoption of CRT-related verbiage by Milley himself, Ideological Capture: When Top Military Leaders Adopt Critical Race Theory Verbiage,

4) the politicization of the military, Nearly 70 Percent of Military Personnel Have Witnessed “Growing Politicization” of Armed Forces, New Poll Reveals,

5) the denuding of our ammunition stockpiles by giving over $100 billion in free assistance to Ukraine, as we documented here, U.S. Weapons Stockpiles “Uncomfortably Low” Due To Arms Shipments to Ukraine, and here, U.S. Weapons Stockpile Disaster Limiting Our Ability To Deter China In Taiwan, and

6) the drumming out of servicemembers from the military for refusing the COVID jab, Four U.S. Air Force Academy Cadets May Not Graduate, Be Commissioned After Refusing COVID Vaccine.

Oh, and who could forget the traversing of the entire continental United States, and critical U.S. nuclear weapon facilities, by a Chinese spy balloon, which Milley did nothing about, Biden Admin Tried To Hide CCP Spy Balloon, Finally Shoots It Down After It Traverses Entire Nation.

So, of course, news that Milley plans to retire and remove himself from the national spotlight should be a cause for celebration.

The problem is that Air Force General Charles Q. “C.Q.” Brown, currently the Air Force Chief of Staff, who, on Thursday, President Biden nominated to replace Milley, is even worse, if that can possibly be true.

Front Page Magazine reports: Next Joint Chiefs Chair Wants White Male Officers to be a Minority: Milley was bad, Brown will be much worse:

Under Gen. Brown, the Air Force has become the most woke of the major service branches.

Brown disgraced himself and his uniform during the Black Lives Matter race riots by releasing a video in which he “seemed to barely contain his rage” while ranting “that the ideals of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution ‘that I’ve sworn my adult life to support and defend’ have not always delivered ‘liberty and equality’ to all.”

What horrible acts of oppression did one of the most powerful men in the military experience that made him turn on America? In his own words to People Magazine, “When you get to senior levels, you have reserved parking spots around the base. I was in civilian clothes, I parked in a spot and someone came out and said, ‘That slot is reserved for the Pacific Air Force’s Commander.’ And I go, ‘Yeah, I know, because I am the Pacific Air Force’s Commander.’”

Someone questioned Brown’s parking space once and all the white male officers must pay.

Here is the video General Brown released:

Brown also presided, as Chief of Staff of the Air Force, over the publishing of “one of the most shocking and destructive racist documents ever produced by the modern military.”

What could be so shocking and destructively racist, you ask?

Well, that document, available here, establishes “officer quotas set by race and gender”:

Similar quotas had been issued by political appointees in a politically correct military, but they had focused on slowly boosting minority officers rather than calling for a purge of white men.

The 2014 quotas had looked for an 80 percent white, 10 percent black and 8 percent Asian officer corps. While choosing officers by any racial category rather than merit is racist, wrong and illegal under civil rights legislation, this fell short of Brown’s proposed racist purge.

Brown’s quotas limit the number of white officers to 67% and cut white men down to 43%. [emphasis mine]

Brown’s racial “balancing” plan is blatantly unconstitutional:

  • “‘[O]utright racial balancing’ is ‘patently unconstitutional.'”  Parents Involved in Community Schools v. Seattle School Dist. No. 1, 551 U.S. 701, 730 (2007) (Roberts, Chief Justice) (quoting Grutter v. Bollinger, 539 U.S. 306, 330 (2006)).
  • “It would be a sad day indeed, were America to become a quota-ridden society, with each identifiable minority assigned proportional representation in every desirable walk of life.”  Grutter, 539 U.S. at 342-43 (quoting Nathanson & Bartnik, The Constitutionality of Preferential Treatment for Minority Applicants to Professional Schools, 58 Chicago Bar Rec. 282, 293 (May–June 1977)).
  • “Accepting racial balancing as a compelling state interest would justify the imposition of racial proportionality throughout American society, contrary to our repeated recognition that ‘[a]t the heart of the Constitution’s guarantee of equal protection lies the simple command that the Government must treat citizens as individuals, not as simply components of a racial, religious, sexual or national class.'”  Parents Involved, 551 U.S. at 730 (quoting Miller v. Johnson, 515 U.S. 900, 911 (1995)).

Even worse, Brown’s imposition of racial quotas in the Air Force has done nothing to improve recruiting, as we have seen, Military Recruitment Crisis Underway as Biden Admin Continues Emphasis on Wokeness, Vaccine Mandates, and the Air Force’s military readiness has plummeted under Brown as well:

Gen. Brown and his radical allies who are destroying the Air Force and endangering national security claim that their racist and illegal policy is necessary because “diversity and inclusion” are the “key to the success of any organization”…

But if that’s the case then why have Air Force readiness rates continued to drop even as the service became more diverse? Brown’s focus on “diversity and inclusion” has been a disaster.

The Air Force has not hit its aircraft readiness rates and the mission critical rates for fighter jets are catastrophic. The F-35A rate fell from 76% to 68% from 2020: the year that the Air Force went woke, endorsed Black Lives Matter and forced racial struggle sessions on its officers.

That was also the year that the White House nominated Brown as Chief of Staff.

In 2022, the rates fell to an outrageous 54%. That’s barely 1 in 2 available planes. In a major war, rates like these mean we would lose and hundreds of thousands of our people could die.

So President Biden would have reviewed those readiness numbers and shown Brown the door, right? Wrong:

[I]n a triumph for ideology over national security, Biden reportedly wants Brown to be the next Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Considering how much damage he’s already done, imagine how much more devastation he will be able to wreak on the military in an even more senior position.

A recent wargame predicted that we could lose 900 planes in a clash with China over Taiwan. . . . Readiness rates like those on Brown’s watch and the loss of the talented pilots he wants to see gone because of the color of their skin and their sex would be the margin between victory and catastrophic defeat.

Front Page Magazine sums up:

Gen. Brown has overseen a national security crisis at one of the crown jewels of national defense and as a reward, Biden would like to make this failed racist the nation’s highest-ranking military officer. Gen. Milley talked about studying white rage, Gen. Brown is suffused with his own racist rage that has led him to wreck the Air Force and, before long, the entire military.

Brown had decided that white male officers should be a minority in the Air Force. Is there any doubt that he would want to see a similar purge of white men across the whole military? With recruitment already an uphill battle, the military cannot afford a woke push to drive away the fighting men who have traditionally given their lives and fought for their country.

Nor can it risk putting woke racism ahead of competence and merit.

Republicans failed to take a stand against Brown’s elevation to Air Force Chief of Staff. If they do not stand up against his elevation to Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, they will have no one to blame for the damage and lives lost that will follow from Chairman Brown’s tenure.

I could not agree more.

This is more proof of the destruction of the military readiness of our Srmed forces which are now in worse condition than before Pearl Harbor

No doubt the Chinese communist regime rightfully expects Brown to dutifully inform them of any U.S. plan to attack Chinese forces — as his predecessor, Milley, promised he would do. I’m sure Brown will do as much to show rank insubordination and to act treasonously, if a GOP president is his boss.

Note that the new budget for the military does not increase by even the inflation rate, Biden plans to reduce the number of Navy ships, and we have given a lot of our spare arms to Ukraine. Any China advisor with half a brain would recommend moving on Taiwan while Biden and his woke clown show are still in office (or never).

A side point … legendary investor Warren Buffett recently sold a Taiwan semiconductor holding because of geographic risk.

    Brian in reply to jb4. | May 28, 2023 at 5:34 pm

Why would China need to attack Taiwan? We’re collapsing before their eyes. All they need to do is wait until our suicide is complete, blockade Taiwan and await their capitulation.

The era of big defense budgets is coming to a close no matter who is in charge. Our interest payments on Federal Debt will equal the DoD budget in about five years. This is a huge problem for budgets going forward.

To put that into perspective the top three things the Federal govt will be spending on in about five years:
    1. Social Security
    2. Medicare
    3. Interest payments on National Debt

The DoD budget will be fourth, assuming that the crowd out effect of interest payments doesn’t impact Defense spending. That isn’t likely. The d/prog won’t like cutting non defense discretionary spending and will demand at least some reduction in defense spending as a % of total federal spending.

Doesn’t everybody want to fly an aircraft maintained by a crew of affirmative action enlistees?

Hey hey, ho ho

AA’s the way to go

Several of these people need [encounters with rapidly moving pointy metal objects].

Biden was put in the WH to do just what he is doing. Degrade and damage everything he can get his hands on. Democrats will back him too.

Subotai Bahadur | May 28, 2023 at 6:54 pm

Look, no one appointed to a command position in what used to be the armed forces of the United States, in this regime, has any care for or gives any priority to the defense of the United States, its people, or its Constitution.

It is what it is, and that is what we have to deal with.

Next, we have to realize that their goal in recruiting has none of the defense priorities listed above. If your children or grandchildren are thinking of enlisting, you need to convince them otherwise. If they enlist they will likely be used against the American people and the Constitution,

We live in interesting times. The questions are a) will we survive them and b) will we do so as a free people if we do survive?

The US armed forces became a massive exercise in social adjustment by force decades ago. It used to be a little here, a little there. A tweak downwards of a standard, an acceptance of a less warrior-like stance, a capability traded for political convenience.

“Reforms” always lead to gains on the wokeness side. Never a return to sanity, constitutionality, and in the military case, to improved national defense.

In the 80s we were told, with a straight face, that there were no “racial or gender quotas” in the services. This in a room full of freshly commissioned officers who had just fought their way through the selection process and knew damned well that was a lie.

We used to joke that the easiest way to slide into a commission was to be a black, female, lawyer (or doctor). As always, the best jokes are based on the truths that people refuse to see.

Wokeness is going to cost us thousands of lives and possibly the next war we fight, and this time losing is going to have very serious consequences. Even in WWII our national survival wasn’t really at stake but it is now.

At this point, only a crushing military defeat could stop the madness, and even that might not.

It’s traditional for the U.S. to go into a conflict completely6 unprepared. In the past, we’ve always risen to the challenge anyway. Whether or not this trend holds in the future is anybody’s guess. I hope so?

Eric R. in reply to irv. | May 29, 2023 at 6:20 am

The present military is being prepared to fight and slaughter what the regime considers to be its primary enemey – us.

For that reason, I would not have a problem with their being defeated if it meant returning the military to its original purpose.

Make no mistake – the present military leadership sees the Tiananmen Square massacre as something to emulate, not something to avoid. Slaughtering pro-Democracy demonstrators acting up against leftist totalitarians.

Saw some footage recently of an Army boot camp graduating class. They were unfit, not sharp, and seemed to lack the ability to move as a cohesive group. We are sooooo in trouble.

A cunning stratagem. Wait until all of the clown’s rainbow-colored hair falls off of its own accord before promoting him to high rank.

The Gentle Grizzly | May 28, 2023 at 7:48 pm

I predict a lot on enlisteds not re-upping, and a lot of commissions being resigned a day after minimum contractual requirements.

I know of one family in which every male (and several females) in the last 50 years have served at least one hitch in uniform.

None of the current enlistment age generation of that family are even remotely interested in doing so and the family more than supports that stand.

My observations suggest that they are not unique in this.

We need look no further than that to determine the most dangerous challenge to our nation today IMO.

I don’t know if you remember about three years ago, when the Iranians stopped a small USN patrol vessel, and the sailors were crying and whimpering?

We’re going to get a lot more of that.

In fact, I think (especially if the Communists win again in 2024 – which they will, given their cheating), you will see a multi-pronged attack to overwhelm the USA and finish it off for good as a power – Russia attacks Moldova or even the Baltics, China attacks Taiwan (or at least Kinmen and Matsu) and Iran shuts the Straits of Hormuz and has Hezbollah launch an all-out rocket attack on Israel.

The world will completely unravel very quickly.

At Gen Brown’s confirmation hearing how many Senate RINO’s will have the grit to question him on his racist policies?

E Howard Hunt | May 29, 2023 at 7:18 am

“All men are created equal”, had NOTHING to do with skin color or equality on an individual level, something that was considered absurd. It referenced, in the general sense, that colonists should have the same rights regarding representation and taxation etc. as Englishmen. Any decently educated man should know this. Its meaning was later hijacked by lefty do-gooders.

I watched the Memorial Day program on tv last night. They usually make me angry at some point. At the end, that runt Gen. Milley came out to speak his lines. Could swear I heard some boos as he was walking on stage. At least I hope I heard them.

If you people in the US could hear what the rest of the world says about your country and how it has been in the toilet since biden and his gang of morons took over, you would be ashamed. I am so glad I left 10 years ago…..I fear it is too late….

Polls show only about 1/3 – 40% of the public want Biden to even run for a second term. That’s not to say those folks won’t vote for him or that those folks would prefer policies/solutions offered by the GoP.

randian in reply to TioDon. | May 29, 2023 at 5:34 pm

That very same “rest of the world” would be saying much the same if a Republican took over and cleaned house. It doesn’t much matter to them who is in charge here they’re going to criticize him.

But, as usual, they will love us when they need us.

[rabid] diversity (i.e. color judgment, class-based bigotry), perhaps.

Woke and Broken follows airing of As the Baby Burns.

This subversive and deeply misguided general attempting to turn a manifestly innocuous incident of someone protecting his parking spot and failing to recognize him while he was dressed in civvies, into an alleged incident of racial animus and bigotry, is simply despicable and contemptible.

This hypersensitivity and fallacious and contrived victimhood-posturing reminds me of when the vile Eric Holder pulled a similar stunt, after having been pulled over on the New Jersey turnpike, or similar highway. Holder immediately posited that the only possible reason he could have been pulled over was because of alleged racial bias.

With Dumb-o-crat idiots such as Milley and Brown leading our military, the Chinese don’t have to lift a finger to erode and corrode troop morale, readiness and effectiveness.

A Critical Race Theorist so must be right up there for promotion

If our enemies had a plan to destroy our country without attacking us, they could not have drawn up a better plan than Biden being POTUS. This moron and his handlers have just about disarmed us and coupled with the other things that they have ruined, left us a hollow shell of our once proud country. I know we have said it many times in the past but this next election is our last chance to save our country! It seems that Biden or his handlers, pick the most anti-American people to fill critical roles within our government. Chose any office and you will find an unqualified pervert or racial activist. I do not believe the Rs in Congress understand the magnitude of decay and rot this administration has wrought. They go about business as usual with no concern for our nation. You can rest assured that many Rs will vote to confirm this hollow racist to the Joint Chiefs position.

” ‘That slot is reserved for the Pacific Air Force’s Commander.’ And I go, ‘Yeah, I know, because I am the Pacific Air Force’s Commander.’””

I don’t know the AF routine for vehicle registration on post, but on an Army installation the vehicle he was driving would have had a bumper sticker with four (?) stars signifying his rank. Either the AF doesn’t register vehicles in that manner, he was driving a vehicle which was not registered to him or he could have noted the registration sticker while informing the person he was the CO. In any event, the person was looking out for the PacAFCO and wound up being used as an example of racism for the racist General. No good deed goes unpunished.

I believe it to be a fundamental truth that since WW2 US military and political leadership have failed us. Time and again military operations have been severely modified to the detriment of our fighting forces resulting in the needless loss of blood and treasure. US leadership cares not for the life of members of our fighting forces and no amount of valiant prose can overcome that truth. Hopefully those considering a military career will enter the service knowing that fact.

This hate filled blind man has obviously never spent a moment considering the plight of a Jew, Christian, or woman in Iran, or a Uyghur in China. He was blessed by being born in the United States of America. He was blessed with the physical, mental, and psychological profiles that enabled him to choose being a pilot in Air Force had he wanted to do so.

He was blessed with having been able to present himself and his wishes to others who chose to let him proceed. He was blessed with being trained, assigned, and elevated by others who took no exception. Through it all he has remained a technician who became a technocrat, blind to the gifts of time and place bestowed upon him. He has acquired no wisdom.

If he’d parked in the wrong place in LA, or Chicago, or St. Louis, or Philadelphia, or any of a dozen other places around the country he’d probably have been mugged.
