Biden’s Secretary of Education: All Your Kids Are Belong To Us, “We must trust teachers”

From Hillary Clinton’s “It takes a village to raise a child” to the sitting president—who has a well-document record of inappropriately fondling and sniffing little children—insisting that “our nation’s children are all our children,” the radical left has been attacking parents (as domestic terrorists for speaking at public school board meetings!) and attempting to wrest control of children from parents and grant it to the federal government.
The left has, as we have long-documented here at LI, infiltrated and exerted control over the majority of our most-cherished institutions, and education is just one part of their multi-pronged assault on all that is decent and good and right in America.
But it’s the part that is going to break them.
Case in point, Kiddie Sniffer Joe “I am the Democratic Party” Biden’s secretary of education knows that they are losing. Why else would Miguel Cardona request the now-infamous NSBA letter asking the DOJ to treat concerned parents as “domestic terrorists”? Why else tweet out an absolute desperate last gasp at affirming government ownership of the nation’s children while insisting that “We must trust teachers”?

Who is he trying to convince? Oh, right, pretty much everyone—on both sides of the aisle and particularly the squishy center who don’t believe for one moment that the degenerate ghouls who are entering the teaching profession are experts on anything but division, self-loathing, perpetual outrage, leftist political activism, and a grotesque gender (and racialist) ideology.
American kids are failing in reading and math, but they know all fifty-eleven genders and think they are born in the wrong body. Oh, and they are also well aware that they are either an oppressor or the oppressed. They can’t read, write, or do basic maths, but they can expound at length on their true gender (that they can change any day) and on white supremacy (which is bad).
The state of K-12 education in this country has never been worse. Literally, never. Even one-room school houses on the prairie and elsewhere taught reading, writing, and arithmetic (along with numerous other subjects deemed too difficult or ‘traumatic’ for today’s youth, like Latin, geography, civics, Biblical teachings, economics, etc.).
The best thing we can do is completely abolish the Department of Education. Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) has the right idea.

And Laura Ingalls’ school exposition in the book _Little Town on the Prairie_. there is not a college graduate I have ever met who knew that much in her/his head.
And the one-room school teachers were directly hired by the town in which they taught. Local accountability, little bureaucracy.

I’ve long said that if you can bring schooling back down to a community level, then “public” once again becomes local control. And “community” is NOT defined as someplace like Dallas or Chicago or New York City. It’s not even defined by the boroughs in NYC. They are still much too large to be a community. Get it down to the people an individual school serves – preferably under 500 students – and the parents can control it and have taught what they desire their children to learn (or not).
Someone, anyone. Remind me why we still have a Dept. of Education.

The Dept of Ed is a useful as a vehicle for funding schools in impoverished areas. It’s not talked about much, but the days of poor inner-city neighborhoods having woefully underfunded schools went away with the No Child Left Behind Act, thanks to direct federal funding for those schools.
I mean, the schools still suck, but now we can be sure it’s not for lack of funding.
Fine. but, what about the feedstock (incoming children) those sucky schools get? Do they even know their colors or how to count to 25 when they come in the door? Do they know their own address or name of their guardian or parent?
In my working days, my work took me into rural school districts in places like the Ozarks that had broken-down schools, ancient furniture, and – in the 21st century – still showed the kids films on 16mm projectors because all that federal funding went to “inner city” (read “black”) schools, not where it was actually needed. Some of these kids were dressed in torn jeans that were torn because they were torn, not because they were $250 “poverty chic” bought at Forever 21. Yet, many if not most of these kids seemed to be eager students, and – in science classrooms – teachers asked what I was doing. If I was ahead of schedule, I’d talk to the kids about lighting, and real energy conservation. They sucked up these semi-lectures like vacuum cleaners.
Cut to Jackson TN. In the mostly-white schools, same thing. The predominantly black schools, it was dead stares into space, “evil eye” at me then a looonnnggg look at my iPad.
All the “multi-media centers”, pro-quality football stadia, and and computer labs are for nought when either the students aren’t worth it or they tear the place up.
So many believe funding is an answer. It really isn’t. Dedicated teachers, parents who care, and students wanting to learn are the three biggest factors by far.
The Rand Corporation did a study. Minority kids had better resources in white dominate districts than minorities in minority controlled ones even thought more money given.. Read “The Thread That Runs so True”…. about a single room school that yearly trounced big schools in scholastic competition. Take a regular school test from 100 years ago and see how poorly the schools can be today. Schools are now social holding pens run by the Rules of “Animal Farm”. The minority rule is that no one should excel … makes the rest look bad.
Because it’s “important” and should therefore be funded by a giant bureaucracy in DC where all the money is printed. And because that removes all the control from the peasants.
The educators created a system where they get to decide what qualifies as education, and create the means to indoctrinate their captive audiences with anti-human principles. That because they learn how to teach, they are most qualified to decide what to teach, especially morality to the children and the rest of us.
Many are simply intolerant activists and nitwits that must use coercion over persuasion. These are the often the most radical because they are the most removed from reality and actual human existence. They lack empathy and are oblivious to human suffering, outside their own spheres.
Their ideas about children are not to be trusted, not even remotely. Their children are exempt of course.
We must have trust worthy teachers.
The must not teach BS to our children.
If they cannot be trusted they must be replaced.
Amen. Of course, I always wonder, by what means can that be done?
And a good start is replacing them with the child’s own parents.

At this point I must blame the parents. If a crazed individual is beating your child, your response should not be to lobby for better social conditions to make such aggression less likely. Your response should be to immediately rescue your child and bring him to safety.
Most of the parents whom I’ve seen speaking up at school committee meetings do not look desperately poor. Some are in wealthy communities. These modern, overweight Americans drive around in enormous SUVs, gorge themselves, in granite countertop kitchens, and take luxury vacations. They should live a little less large and cough up the money to send their children to carefully vetted private or religious schools. There is no time for reform to help their actual children. They need to stop being greedy and sacrifice. It isn’t fair, but that’s what a real parent must do. Agitate for reform, but save your own child in the meantime.
I am going to say something that will be unpopular, but is borne our by my experience. An awful lot of parents don’t want to spend more than a little time with their kids. Look at social media towards the end of any school break and see it flooded with some version of “I’m so ready for school to start again.” It’s sad. Outside of really blue, insane areas, the “school” problems aren’t so much school problems as societal problems showing up at school.
I see the same thing in a different way: the parent or parents hand their young children a small fame toy, or a smartphone with a noisy,blinkety-blink game, and then ignore them. Regular LI-ers have read my previous comments on this.
Yes. Some digital resources are quite good for learning. Mostly, that’s not what kids are on. It’s just a way to distract the kids so they don’t realize their parents don’t care enough about them to spend time with them.

Somewhere along the way to our incredible prosperity in today’s America, children became a fashion accessory instead of posterity. A combination of things, but a lot to do with the nihilism of Progressivism – you’re an accident, there’s no debt to future generations, the machinery of society going on without overwatch (rule by experts), etc.
In all of this, some ever-growing number of parents (being raised by the last generation, where this was also happening, but less so, etc.) does not view children as their legacy, their offering to future generations, their means of keeping their family heritage going. And the constant drumbeat of exactly the sort of stuff this bureaucrat is spouting – you must send your kids to school or they will end up ignorant and in misery (or the military /eyeroll/ ) – tells parents they have to hand their kids off to an expert who studied in school for this. Because raising kids is hard.
Of course, in the process, society also worked more and more toward presentism – the now is where it’s at, and everything before is meaningless – which threw out the wisdom of all previous generations. Parents no longer turned to their parents for advice, but to “experts” in magazines and places like school.
And, so, parents slowly, over generations, abdicated their part as parents.
We used to lament the lack of participation of parents in their children’s education. But as progressivism took deeper and deeper root among the “educators” that became a feature, not a bug.
And a Brave New World emerges.

First they moved kindergarten from a half-day to a full-day program.
Then they made it mandatory.
Then they reduced recess time to once a day or less.
Then they made the First Grade Curriculum the Kindergarten Curriculum.
Then they eliminated nap-time for kindergarteners.
Then they instuted stanardized testing for Kindegarteners.
The advice of Pediatricians and Developmental Psycholigsts were ignored in all of these decisions.
I have to say that had parents advocated more for their childrens’ well-being back then, perhaps we wouldn’t be where we are today.

Elementary school is basically a big progression of developmentally inappropriate concepts ensuring the majority of kids don’t learn their fundamentals properly and are thus handicapped.

Teachers know what is best for their kids because they are with them every day.
They are not “your” kids. And you do NOT know what is best for them. And that you are with them “all day” is a bug, not a feature.
