‘Prisoners Running the Asylum’: Trans Activist ‘Ambushed and Physically Hit’ Riley Gaines After San Francisco Speech

‘Prisoners Running the Asylum’: Trans Activist ‘Ambushed and Physically Hit’ Riley Gaines After San Francisco Speech

“This is proof that women need sex-protected spaces. Still only further assures me I’m doing something right. When they want you silent, speak louder.”

A trans activist attacked former University of Kentucky championship swimmer Riley Gaines after her Saving Women’s Sports speech at San Francisco State University.

Riley wrote on Twitter: “The prisoners are running the asylum at SFSU…I was ambushed and physically hit twice by a man. This is proof that women need sex-protected spaces. Still only further assures me I’m doing something right. When they want you silent, speak louder.”

Gaines has become a vocal opponent of biological men competing in women’s sports. She competed against University of Pennsylvania swimmer Lia Thomas during college.

Trans activists tried to drown out the event held by Turning Point USA and Leadership Institute.

The protest started small but grew and became chaotic. Riley was barricaded in a room with police protection:

Louis Barker, Riley’s husband, said he had brief conversations with her while she was barricaded in the room for nearly three hours.

“She told me she was hit multiple times by a guy in a dress. I was shaking. It made me that mad. It makes me sick to feel so helpless about it,” Barker said. “She was under police protection and was still hit by a man wearing a dress.”

Disgusting:

“Tonight, Riley Gaines spoke at San Francisco State University to share her personal story of competing against a biological male athlete, Lia Thomas, at the Women’s NCAA Swimming Championships last year,” Eli Bremer, Gaines’ agent, said to Fox News Digital in a lengthy statement.

“In the past year, her goal in speaking at universities has been to educate her peers about her experience and what the impact of the growing number of biological males in women’s sports will do to the integrity of Title IX. She has been questioned in civil and somewhat uncivil manners about her views many times, and she thoroughly encourages diverse viewpoints and debate on this issue.

“Instead of a thoughtful discussion tonight at SFSU, Riley was violently accosted, shouted at, physically assaulted, and barricaded in a room by protestors. It is stunning that in America in 2023, it is acceptable for biological male students to violently assault a woman for standing up for women’s rights.

“This will not stop Riley from boldly educating people of the dangers of biological males in women’s sports. She will continue to speak the truth against the radical left that no longer understands the difference between men and women.”

This is Democrat m/o when their ‘righteous’ ideals are attacked by decent people. Riley Gaines is a courageous woman and is on the right track. Now, all of you female athletes need to back her. If you do, men may very well back you up. Democrats go to violence very quickly because they have to.

Massinsanity in reply to Whitewall. | April 7, 2023 at 12:37 pm

She is practically a lone voice, where the hell are the rest of the female athletes in this country.

      There are others. It’s growing:

      https://www.iwf.org/2020/07/24/female-athletes-speak-out-demand-fairness-in-womens-sports/

On the other hand, we don’t have a nation anymore – America is a walking-dead nation.

When we split, we take Riley Gaines with us, and leave the others behind.

It’s mostly the ones directly affected i.e. the ones who would have won except for the biological male who beat them and won instead. The argument is “I’m harmed because that person is too good, and I shouldn’t have to compete against him because I have a special category.”

The counter argument is that we’re redefining the special category.

Neither side is especially principled and acting out of simple self interest, which is normal.

Neither side is especially principled and *both sides are* acting out of simple self interest, which is normal. [words added that I omitted above]

henrybowman in reply to artichoke. | April 7, 2023 at 5:52 pm

But humans are born with an innate sense of fairness. In most cases, we know instinctively whether or not “special categories” lead to fairer or less fair outcomes.

I know of no one who would argue that Cartman pretending to be “retarded” in order to win the Special Olympics is “fair,” other than trolls trying to get a rise.

Even for borderline cases such as affirmative action, we can predict the potential upsides and downsides, and if we can’t make a solid determination at the time of the actual experiment, we know enough to be able to analyze the results once we have some years of experience in hand.

And for stuff like CRT (anti-racism is being racist against different people), you have to be carefully, intensively groomed to believe that garbage… which is why they start with kids because rational adults would never swallow it.

henrybowman in reply to artichoke. | April 7, 2023 at 5:57 pm

I forgot to include: in the case of women’s sports, the achievements of males are in no way threatened or diminished by the achievements of females within their “special category.” In fact, if a female exceeds a male within her category, society readily accepts her primacy in both categories (“paging Bobby Riggs”). And any femals who wishes can arrange a meet “outside her category” to prove it one way or the other (“Bobby Riggs, please pick up the pink phone!”)

One cannot say the same for AA or CRT, which are true zero sum games.

artichoke in reply to Massinsanity. | April 7, 2023 at 4:24 pm

What I’m more interested in knowing, is why these crybullies disrupting the speech aren’t facing academic and even legal punishment. Everyone’s cowering before them, and if we choose to cower, they have no reason to stop.

They’ll stop because they’re afraid. They need to be afraid to act like this. And apparently the legal system won’t help.

Trannies are the shock troops of the Democrat radicals. The Vanguard of the Revolution. The point of the spear. But as long as women overwhelmingly vote for Democrats, Democrats will back the trannies. I’ll bet that even these star female athletes who are forced to compete against trannies vote for Democrats. Women want their abortions. Period. That is for more important to them in the big picture that having to deal with athletic competition from trannies. Everyone knows the GOP will ban abortion nationwide if they ever get full power. Nobody is ever going to believe any denials of this, because of the rhetoric of the last 50 years and recent actions in GOP run states. You select a political party based on what is most important to you, and you have to accept a package that may have things you don’t like.

      mailman in reply to The_Mew_Cat. | April 7, 2023 at 3:35 pm

Women, blacks, Jews…all vote overwhelmingly Democrat yet Democrats do nothing for these demographics other than keeping them on the Democrat plantation.

At least the Hispanics are waking up.

guyjones in reply to mailman. | April 7, 2023 at 3:41 pm

At this point, you should add Christians to the groups you mentioned. No Dumb-o-crat is getting elected at a local, state or national level without drawing significant support from Christian Dumb-o-crats. So, dole out the blame fairly. American Jews are statistically insignificant in the U.S. population and aren’t influencing national elections, given that most of them are living in “blue” states that would never vote GOP, anyway.

henrybowman in reply to guyjones. | April 7, 2023 at 5:43 pm

…if all you count are votes.
Once you start counting donations, that picture changes.

artichoke in reply to guyjones. | April 7, 2023 at 5:54 pm

And Orthodox Jews tend to vote conservative, not leftist. See what’s happening in Israel as the Orthodox is attaining numerical majority in the population and just elected a favorable government. Biden can’t deal with their non-liberal policies. Not even especially conservative, but no longer tolerating leftist stupidity.

guyjones in reply to guyjones. | April 8, 2023 at 10:23 am

Henry, speaking to your comment, below — frankly, it smacks of crass and unfair stereotypes and unsupported presumptions. Are there no wealthy, Christian business magnates in Silicon Valley and in other industries who are donating to the Dumb-o-crats?

Or, is every major Dumb-o-crat donor allegedly Jewish, according to your supposition? As dotard-marionette, Biden, would say — “Come on, man!!!”

henrybowman in reply to guyjones. | April 8, 2023 at 2:23 pm

So your argument here is that I’m antisemitic. How incisive..

Don’t take it from me. Take it from Aaron Zelman, Founder and Director of
Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership.
His term for the phenomenon is “bagel brains.”
Although his article is about support for “gun control,” that issue is inextricably correlated with Democrat support.

And as for contributions? Don’t take it from me, take it from another paragon of anti-semitism, the Times of Israel:
“Among the top 25 on the list [of US campaign donors], 15 are Jewish or of Jewish origin.” The article goes on to enumerate by name the 11 of those who overwhelmingly support Democrats.

But when I made my comment, I wasn’t even considering the “top donors.” I was considering the private donations made by plain old US citizens. JewishInsider reports: “Based on a recently released [9/2020] poll, two-thirds of Jewish voters say they will vote for Joe Biden over President Trump, and three-quarters of Jewish women say they favor Biden.”

How much do they donate, and to whom?
“In 2012, as an example, 71 percent of the $160 million that Jewish donors gave to the two major-party nominees went to President Obama’s re-election campaign; 29 percent went to Mitt Romney’s campaign… This ratio of support mirrors how Jewish voters cast their ballots in 2012. Maybe the most impressive statistic is this one: 50% of all campaign dollars donated to the Democratic Party are from Jewish funders, while 25% of donations to the Republican Party are provided by Jewish contributors.”
In passing, it also remarks on the “top donor” issue: “Take as an example, among the top 50 donors to the 2016 campaign, 11 of the top 14 Democratic Party contributors were Jewish, while 9 of the top 36 Republican supporters identified as Jews.”

So do you think it’s time to take that antisemitic card and shove it where the sun don’t shine?

DaveGinOly in reply to oldschooltwentysix. | April 7, 2023 at 12:33 pm

They have that exactly wrong. “Human rights are trans rights.” They are not special. They have no rights the rest of us don’t have.

Massinsanity in reply to oldschooltwentysix. | April 7, 2023 at 12:39 pm

From one of the clips above it appears most of the protestors are real women which is insane.

henrybowman in reply to Massinsanity. | April 7, 2023 at 6:20 pm

The “crazy white chick” contingent of everything from Antifa to BLM is appalling… but not, upon reflection, very surprising.

Do you remember headlines like this, that began about ten years or so ago?
Logic Is A Tool of The Patriarchy
Logic is not just reason — done properly, it is mathematics. Mathematics is therefore not only racist, but sexist.

The dissonance is deep. The “strong women” demanded (by this contingent) from Hollywood scriptwriters, when holistically analyzed, are nothing more than women who act exactly like toxic men. This is what you want? Don’t ask why, I guess.

Women are all about communities. They love communities. They are joiners. You won’t find many “lone wolf” women. As a result, if a critical mass of women form locally with a crazy idea, the average woman is much more likely to join with them than a man would if everything were reversed.

Women fought like hell to get the vote. What was the first thing they did with it? Banned alcohol for everybody else. Men would never have done this (not without getting beat up behind the barn, or even hanged). The idea was a disaster, the only incontestably repealed constitutional clusterf on record. And now what? They’re making exactly the same stupid mistake, this time with guns.

Yes, there are reasonable, logical women. I found me one. But there also irrefutable statistics and indisputable history. The quantum uncertainty of a single particle does not invalidate the chemical and physical behavior of macro quantities.

Let’s see, we have delusional men wearing dresses shooting up schools, plotting a bombing attack at another, and assaulting a woman just because she says things they don’t like, but straight, non-confused, males pose a threat to society. Do I have that right?

How Fascist of them.

inspectorudy | April 7, 2023 at 12:05 pm

No matter the issue, the left does not want the other side to be heard. This is the way of dictators and the only way for them to stay in power. They cannot debate the issues because they know they will lose. Just look at the academic environment where no debate is allowed that conflicts with the regimen they have chosen. Dems in Congress are the same way and never ask questions about the failed policies of Biden. On our border crisis, they refused to ask one single question about what’s good for America and instead did all they could to protect the inept Biden.

This is the way of dictators
And, often, of theocracies. Which is really what Progressivism is.

GWB in reply to gonzotx. | April 7, 2023 at 1:18 pm

I disagree wholeheartedly. Until you understand that is is a religion, and that religion views “progress” as their ultimate achievement, and that progress has to do with humanity, itself, throwing off the shackles of morals and – ultimately – of reality, itself, you won’t be able to counter it.

artichoke in reply to gonzotx. | April 7, 2023 at 5:55 pm

Well, I’d call it violent misbehavior. When schools don’t punish misbehavior, when the law doesn’t punish illegal misbehavior, we’ve given up.

Just don’t call them liberals. They aren’t.

CommoChief in reply to gonzotx. | April 7, 2023 at 6:14 pm

Disagree. The term ‘liberal’ is IMO the one to be retired in favor of leftist. The term progressive or shortened to prog used as a pejorative seems ok. It sort of throws the lack of genuine progress and reversion in some aspects back in their faces. See the progressive embrace of segregation in many aspects of life.

guyjones in reply to gonzotx. | April 7, 2023 at 10:09 pm

Agreed. “Regressive” is more appropriate. Or, when invoked, “Progressive” should properly be in quotation marks, just as the word “liberal” should be, to underscore that this characterization is a self-styled and inapposite moniker invoked by the vile and totalitarian Dumb-o-crats.

This is why you carry. And if you can’t carry firearms (or they’re not appropriate), carry a stun gun. And pepper spray. Arm yourself to respond to violence in a manner convincing enough they won’t or can’t try it again.

Then, you also can identify them (because, hopefully, they’re laying on the ground twitching and crying) and file charges against them. And name them in a lawsuit. Don’t just fight back, scorch the earth, till the ground, then salt it in your wake.

Only what is written on the paper. To understand the real law one must be able to transcend the paper and look deep into the emanations and penumbras. There you will find that the peaceful group of trans were non-violently stopping the terrible violent speech that was going to come from Miss Gaines. If she had used additional violence in the misguided belief that she was defending herself she would be jailed for many many years.

Why didn’t the police actively and forcibly disperse the crowd before that? These aggressive mob members need to be dealt with firmly and punished when their acts cross the line, same as with children or anyone else. But they should get fewer breaks than children, not more.

henrybowman in reply to artichoke. | April 7, 2023 at 6:23 pm

“She was under police protection and was still hit by a man wearing a dress.”
We’ve all heard that “When seconds count, the police are only minutes away.”
Even when police are zero seconds away, it still doesn’t mean you don’t need your own tools for personal self-defense.
You are always your own first responder. Always. Anything else is a lie.

In actual asylums, the inmates do run it. It’s a sociological system and everybody adapts to a balance of affinity and individuality, guards and inmates alike. As a result, nobody is doing what the institution claims they’re doing. Erving Goffman elaborates in his famous book Asylums.

Did the perp get arrested?

Gaines is correct, as “transgenders” are mentally ill.

The face of the trans movement is literally Jame Gumb from Silence of the lambs

Edit:

I’m not saying I can predict the future, but when I watched Silence of the Lambs back in 1991, I totally predicted the Jame Gumb character would be society’s brave hero winning the High School girls state championships in 2023.

A) Men playing girls sports is bad, though in comparison to the broader issue, it is relatively trivial. (not to minimize it, but the broader issue is vastly worse)

B) You can not fix a mental issue by performing the evil of mutalating a human body

C) the embracement of a biological destruction of the human body delusional short term fix by the woke progressives is pure evil.

Until the negative consequences imposed for attempting a hecklers veto outweigh the perceived benefit to the hecklers cause they will continue. A civil society doesn’t endure very long with mobs showing up and attempting to strong arm others into submission. At some point people will stop being intimidated and push back. Better by far if that push back comes from our elected and appointed officials than from ad hoc vigilante groups but sooner or later push back will inevitably happen.

“The most terrifying force of death comes from the hands of Men who wanted to be left Alone. They try, so very hard, to mind their own business and provide for themselves and those they love. They resist every impulse to fight back, knowing the forced and permanent change of life that will come from it. They know that the moment they fight back, their lives as they have lived them, are over. The moment the Men who wanted to be left alone are forced to fight back, it is a form of suicide. They are literally killing off who they used to be. Which is why, when forced to take up violence, these Men who wanted to be left alone, fight with unholy vengeance against those who murdered their former lives. They fight with raw hate, and a drive that cannot be fathomed by those who are merely play-acting at politics and terror. TRUE TERROR will arrive at these people’s door, and they will cry, scream, and beg for mercy… but it will fall upon the deaf ears of the Men who just wanted to be left alone.”

admire her courage–though her husband and loved ones are rightly concerned for her safety would bet they are equally proud of her for standing up and speaking the truth

would suggest perhaps that she contact local dojos / gyms in the area of a prospective speaking event and query them as to having FEMALE members (mas / kickboxers) come to the event and keep order–nothing like several trained/authentic women defending a fellow AUTHENTIC woman and her (and their) first ammendment rights

The silence of women supporting Riley Gaines is very disappointing. Why are women such a huge no-show on this??

    artichoke in reply to Q. | April 7, 2023 at 6:36 pm

It seems the issue is not supported broadly by women, but most strongly by those women whose success is actually affected. Women who were winning before, the most athletic women, who are now losing to former men now allowed to compete against them.

I believe that’s the reason. And it’s pragmatic. If you’re a girl or woman who was at best middle of the pack in a sport, or not an athlete at all, you’re not directly affected by this one way or the other.
