European Media Overjoyed by Trump’s Indictment: “Miracles Still Do Happen”

German state-run TV Tagesschau: “All of this would be enough elsewhere in the world to force a politician to resign or be ousted. Not in the U.S., not in the case of Trump.”

The indictment of former U.S. President Donald by a Manhattan grand jury has sent a wave of joy among European commentators and media outlets.

Dropping the pretence of being a news outlet, Germany’s influential political magazine, Der Spiegel, declared President Trump’s indictment a ‘miracle.’

“Miracles still do happen. Donald Trump has actually been indicted,” the magazine proclaimed.

The German weekly optimistically wrote a political obituary of the former U.S. president. The American voters “aren’t interested in sending him back to the White House – a fact that was made clear through his loss in the 2020 elections and the poor showing by the Republicans in the midterms last fall. America wants to leave this man behind,” Der Spiegel concluded.

The German newspaper Die Süddeutsche Zeitung claimed that the indictment will weaken President Trump’s 2024 re-election bid, but admitted that it will not end the populist movement started by him. “In New York, Donald Trump must stand before the court. This will weaken him. But the trial will not rid the U.S. of Trumpism,” the newspaper wrote.

Germany’s state media was dismayed that despite years of relentless slanderous media coverage, President Trump was still a political force to reckon with in the next U.S. election.

“This is not Trump’s first encounter with the judiciary. Former-US President’s list of scandals is long — but attempts to oust him have failed. Many in the U.S. continue to consider him eligible,” German state broadcaster Tagesschau lamented.

Taking a decidedly anti-American tone, the state-run outlet complained that: “All of this would be enough elsewhere in the world to force a politician to resign or be ousted. Not in the U.S., not in the case of Trump.”

The left-wing British newspaper The Guardian was delighted at the indictment, and wanted more legal action against the farmer U.S. president. “To shy away from bringing charges because they will increase divisions and might unleash violence would be wrong. As both businessman and politician, Mr Trump has spent a lifetime seeking to avoid legal consequences for his conduct,” the daily commented.

“To allow him to sidestep them for fear of his reaction and that of his supporters would be to bolster his message that truth and the law are for little people, and that lies and might will triumph. That would surely be a far greater blow to American democracy,” The Guardian concluded.

The French newspaper Le Monde saw the legal warfare waged against Trump as a crusade to save democracy in the United States. Former president’s indictment is a “test for an American democracy under strain,” the French newspaper wrote.

“Trump has only himself to blame,” the French daily declared. “As the first president to be impeached twice by the House of Representatives and the first ex-president to be prosecuted in the history of the country, he brings in his wake an accumulation of cases that show, at the very least, a behavioral problem.” the newspaper concluded.

Europeans sounding like clueless Europeans. Trump told them the truth and they will never forgive him for being right. There is a major difference between Trump and Trumpism. The ‘ism’ is growing and there is no stopping it.

Europe, for the most part, is a complete parastite to the US. The TRILLIONS Europe has saved in its self defense was borne by you and I. They don’t want the gravy train to end.

They also want the soft-fascism of their governments to continue (that is, the ruling class keeps getting richer off the lower classes) unchallenged by an America with a Bill of Rights.

We have to start all over again. Enough of the 50 State Union. We either live free apart from the old America, or we are enslaved in the ‘new” America.

      Whitewall in reply to TheFineReport.com. | April 1, 2023 at 4:46 pm

Movement has already started with people voting with their feet and U-Haul trucks. Also, I don’t think it is set in stone that the current borders of the 50 states can’t be changed. There is a movement among eastern Oregon and Washington states to leave the defunct western parts of their states and join Idaho as a voting region with similar values.

Once again, the unwillingness of Americans to differentiate between the elites vs the people. We are lagging in fighting the elites whereas they are on the streets. Heck, even Canadian truckers staged an effective protest. UK, Netherlands, France and others on the streets fighting for their freedom while we cower for fear that fighting back is exactly what “they” want.

This latest strike in France is far from being about old citizens enraged at retirement age being raised from 63 to 65. It is an escalation of the “gilet jaune” resistance to Macron’s increasingly autocratic rule. So who are the surrender monkeys?

Same thing in the Netherlands. Too many of us just don’t understand the significance of the farmers winning to become the largest party. All we see is “left wing” and dismiss it as irrelevant.

I spend a lot of time keeping watch of what is going on in the UK and although things are bad and getting worse, the elites are on the run and scared as more and more fighters are emerging online and red-pilling everyone to what is going on.

Here in the US, we continue to argue among ourselves in terms of Dems vs Republicans and liberals vs conservatives (whatever that is) from our personal echo chambers while running around in our personal mazes looking for a way out. Fresh from the most audaciously corrupt event in our history, many “conservatives” (whatever that is) still can’t rally behind the only man who is fighting effectively for our freedom and scaring the Malthusian globalists into a desperate panic. As if the allowing Trump to be defeated is part of the solution because the GOPe alternative is “nicer” and less pugnacious. “Molon labe!!!” Yeah. Sure. From our cold dead hands.

Looks increasingly to me like individual freedom will die first in America. But, please… continue bashing Europe with “ugly American” condescension. At least they are fighting. There is no shortage of patriotic speeches here though.

Yep, both wings of the Uniparty are fragmenting. MAGA is the big magnet that is attracting patriots from every persuasion. We really need to change our narrative away from Dem/Rep, Liberal/Conservative. The reality is so much better. But we need to be willing to see things for what they are and open the door for new allies. Patriotism is much more important right now than misplaced party loyalty.

“Heck, even Canadian truckers staged an effective protest. ” Hardly. Bank accounts frozen, truck impounded and repossessed from non-payment (see frozen accounts). The Justina Trudeau government was “effective”. Fidel Jr. is a tyrant.

You are just not recognizing the effect it had on Trudeau, Canadian citizens and Europe. Citizens are no longer in a slumber. The reality has now been revealed and sides solidified. What exactly did you think would happen? The truckers too big risks to deliver a very important message. This was the beginning, not the end.

There is an increasing global unity now among ordinary citizens and we outnumber them greatly. Trust in government and institutions has been irrevocably damaged. We were never going to get out of this by filing lawsuits and wagging our fingers. The globalists have been engaging in violence for years already. If the fear of violence continues to cow us into creeping surrender, all is lost. This is going to get violent a lot sooner than people expect. Just wait and see what happens as Trump’s popularity goes through the roof and there is no way to stop him other than to incite widespread violence to justify martial law and the inevitable shutdowns. How many among us will be defending the Tranny Liberation Front next year for fear that we might be making them angry?

The globalists are cracking down on the hated citizenry everywhere and we are the only ones who are lucky enough to have a Donald Trump positioned to topple the globalists. Enthusiastically uniting behind him in overwhelming numbers is the strongest weapon we have. He is our only leader engaged in the fight. Everyone else is posturing and making check mark speeches.

This is a pivotal moment in human history and too many among us are sleepwalking through it.

Like Nancy Pelosi, the European media mob doesn’t like the concept of “innocent until proven guilty”.

I think you meant to say they like it.

      henrybowman in reply to TheFineReport.com. | April 1, 2023 at 6:10 pm

No, he got it right. The appropriate concept is “innocent until proven guilty.” Pelosi stated it should be the other way around. So have these European media.

Napoleonic law actually used the principle of “guilty until proven innocent.” Louisiana actually ran things that way too, because French. I suspect Louisiana no longer holds to this standard due to federal pressure (but I can’t say for sure), and I have no idea what France does today.

Subotai Bahadur in reply to moonmoth. | April 1, 2023 at 4:25 pm

Very much so. In fact, many of their criminal justice systems in Europe are more based in the defendant having to prove innocence than the State having to prove guilt.

Well, okay.

Since the 1990s the left has demanded the US be more like Europe. I think they forgot about all the color revolutions.

Germany: the home of no less than “pure white supremacy.” I always liked the line in “Yes, Minister” where they were discussing the various self-interests by nations to be a part of the EU, and Sir Humphrey quipped that “Germany went in to cleanse themselves of genocide and apply for re-admission to the human race.” As true to day as 40 years ago.

Yep. That show was/is “bang on” as the Brits would say.

To preserve my sanity I’ve been staying away from live news as they are all beating themselves off over this farce.

Frankly, I’d pull all military forces of US out of Europe and discontinue underwriting the whole bunch. They have grown fat and happy under out umbrella. It is not needed. Let Europe protect Europe. As for being like them…. which part of Europe? No go zones?

randian in reply to alaskabob. | April 1, 2023 at 4:57 pm

Especially since Europe seems committed to being conquered by Islam. If they want Europe to become a literal hell, which it will once Islam controls it, I say let the fools do it.

alaskabob in reply to randian. | April 1, 2023 at 6:53 pm

Functionally they have already surrendered. It’s demography…. Eurabia is ascendent. Number one name for newborns in many EU countries is Mohammed.

The most pompous and least capable folks on the planet. Nothing like European globalists to make things worse. They have been woke for a long time. Of course, they have no blame.

Like Trump’s critics here, when asked what he actually did that was wrong, it comes down to mean tweets.

It’s not like he allowed a war to commence on the mainland, maybe blew up a pipeine, and turned the planet into a powder keg. Those are tiny foibles compared to what bogeyman Trump dares to say about things, often the naked truth. No better than “The View.”

The European Leftists are as utterly vile, narcissistic and useless as American Dumb-o-crats.

You can love or hate President Trump, but, one thing is certain — if he had been President, Putin never would have invaded Ukraine. The invasion — like the previous invasion that had occurred on narcissist-incompetent, Obama’s watch — was an obvious exploitation of the transparent weakness and lack of credibility of American and European deterrence, as evinced by manifestly naive, foolish, feckless and incompetent Dumb-o-crats, such as dotard-marionette, Biden.

guyjones in reply to guyjones. | April 1, 2023 at 4:10 pm

Which makes all the Ukrainian flag-waving and assorted self-congratulatory antics on Twitter and elsewhere by vile Dumb-o-crats, utterly nauseating.

The Dumb-o-crats facilitated Putin’s predations against Ukraine by installing a manifestly tottering, feeble, weak, emasculated, dim-witted, feckless, corrupt and incompetent dotard-marionette in the White House.

henrybowman in reply to guyjones. | April 1, 2023 at 5:33 pm

“You can love or hate President Trump, but, one thing is certain — if he had been President, Putin never would have invaded Ukraine.”
Never mind that. It’s the death of the dollar as the world’s reserve currency that is going to hammer the USA flat and render us irrelevant. That wouldn’t have happened under Trump, either.

The vile and useless European Leftists loved narcissist-incompetent, Obama, because Obama would flatter them and was committed to not rocking the boat or making any demands upon them, while President Trump fairly demanded that Germany and other NATO members contribute their fair share of that organization’s dues, which they’d been underpaying, for decades. Also, President Trump presciently and fairly criticized Germany for its foolish reliance upon Russian oil and gas, which helped to fund Putin’s regime and to enable his predations and his belligerence.

Well done, Eurotrash media: you’ve just zoomed to the top of Trump’s 2025 post-inaugural s**t list.

Subotai Bahadur | April 1, 2023 at 4:32 pm

Making the increasingly dubious assumption that we will have elections next year with an honest vote count, let us consider the highly theoretical possibility that a non-GOPe conservative should be elected and have enough support in Congress to do things.

1) How long will it take for those cheering now to reverse themselves and try to [insert phrase implying negative ambient pressure] to us?

2) What should the response of said non-GOPe conservative be?

Subotai Bahadur

There is another media in Europe that is largely red-pilled liberals. And like here in the US where we are witnessing the MSM audience decline to so few that they should be reported name, the media that counts is the organic online alternative media that is growing in leaps and bounds not only in numbers but in influence.

Also like here in the US, the red-pilled liberals are vastly outnumbering the “conservatives” in sounding the clarion call to get out of our comfort zones and start fighting back. My favorite of these is the brilliant Neil Oliver and today, he issued what could have been his best oration yet.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=duhYPgdEMW8

Oliver is clearly engaged in the “big conversation” in the biggest of ways. He gets it as a freedom-loving human being who completely understands that freedom is not our natural state of being. Today, he admitted his own naivette and takes a big leap forward in rallying for the cause of freedom and I am certain it will resonate across the world. Odd that his view of current events and what needs to be done sounds almost identical to Trump’s except with a Scottish accent.

I never miss any of his daily postings.

“In a constitutional democracy, nobody can stand above the law.”
Other than every Democrat ever.
Hillary, Holder, Fauci, Pelosi, Milley, Maxine, Loretta, Lois, Zuckerbux, Brandon…

Of course they are happy. Trump brought their freeloading keisters to light with the many years they didn’t live up to their NATO commitments all while bashing the US for everything wrong in the world. Brandon has opened the money spigot once again for those people

BierceAmbrose | April 1, 2023 at 11:43 pm

If Trump is so guilty, why is indicting him so miraculous?

A little off topic but too good to pass up. One of our commenters brought up the Congressional slush fund set up for the very purpose of paying off victims of sexual indiscretions by congressmen. It seems someone running for president may be reading our comment section?

https://justthenews.com/politics-policy/elections/ramaswamy-taxpayers-shouldnt-be-paying-hush-money-sexual-indiscretions

This is a killer issue for Trump to bring up. It may be better that Ramaswamy did it for him.

BTW, let’s find the names of the congressmen who account for the $18.2 million dished out so far. I don’t care who they are or which party they belong to. The idea that a former president falsely charged of a misdemeanor while being politically persecuted with endless made-up charges would be the guy to go down for what amounts to crimes by many congressmen who go unpunished? Who could possibly defend that?

We may have just discovered the perfect fumigant for ridding Congress of corrupt swamp critters. This is every big an issue as is Epstein’s pedophile island list.
