Straining Credulity, Dr. Fauci Asserts Covid Lab Leak Could Still be Considered a ‘Natural Occurrence’

Straining Credulity, Dr. Fauci Asserts Covid Lab Leak Could Still be Considered a ‘Natural Occurrence’

Fauci rewrites both science and history as real facts about covid’s origins are closer to being made public.

Over the past few weeks, more reports from US government sources indicate the source of the novel coronavirus that is responsible for the covid pandemic is a laboratory from China’s Wuhan Institute of Virology.

I recently noted that Dr. Anthony Fauci, the now-retired coronavirus advisor to the White House, commissioned and had final approval on a scientific paper written in February 2020 designed to disprove this theory.

Evidence that he now realizes this plan has wholly gone awry comes in the form of an interview with CNN’s Jim Acosta, during which Fauci argued the pandemic could be considered a “natural occurrence” if the definition of lab leak meant that someone was infected in the wild and went “into a lab,” was studied in a lab, and then “came out of the lab.”

The former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, who retired at the end of last year, made the remarks on CNN Saturday, two weeks after an Energy Department assessment found that the coronavirus likely originated in a Chinese lab.

In the months after the pandemic began, Fauci had discounted the theory that the virus had emanated from the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

The 82-year-old now said he was still keeping a “completely open mind” to the origin of the virus, while explaining how a lab leak still could be considered a “natural occurrence.”

“A lab leak could be that someone was out in the wild, maybe looking for different types of viruses in bats, got infected, went into a lab and was being studied in the lab and then came out of the lab,” Fauci told anchor Jim Acosta.

“But if that’s the definition of a lab leak Jim, then that’s still a natural occurrence.”

I have to say, that stretch in reasoning is astonishing.

Fauci also insisted that he keeps an open mind on the pandemic’s origins.

“You know, Jim, I’ve kept an open mind throughout the entire process. What has changed over months to a year or more is what I mentioned a bit ago, namely that as evolutionary virologists went into this deeper and deeper and analyzed it from a number of standpoints, epidemiologically, virologically, geospatially; they wrote two very important, well written, peer-reviewed papers in Science Magazine strongly suggesting that, in fact, it was a natural occurrence from an animal to a human.

But strongly suggesting, Jim, doesn’t nail it down definitively. And that’s the reason why I say to this day I will keep a completely open mind as to what the origin is,” he responded.

Fauci has said for months now that, while he was keeping a “completely open mind,” he believed evidence pointed away from a lab leak.

Unfortunately for “Mr. Science,” the internet and I have long memories. In May 2020, Fauci said he was convinced the virus originated naturally.

“If you look at the evolution of the virus in bats and what’s out there now, [the scientific evidence] is very, very strongly leaning toward this could not have been artificially or deliberately manipulated … Everything about the stepwise evolution over time strongly indicates that [this virus] evolved

Scientists themselves have stated there was indeed some trepidation about openly discussing the lab theory. Alina Chan, a postdoctoral associate at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard University, recently admitted previous skepticism of the lab-leak theory was tied to politics.

“At the time, it was scarier to be associated with Trump and to become a tool for racists, so people didn’t want to publicly call for an investigation into lab origins,” she said in an interview with Yahoo News.

Late last week, the House of Representatives voted unanimously for the Biden administration to declassify all information about the origins of covid. Biden hasn’t decided if he will sign it.

The bill now heads to President Biden’s desk after the Senate passed it earlier this month, and Republicans have demanded he signs it to clarify what happened.

If the President does not take action for ten days while Congress is in session, it automatically becomes law. He can veto it, but Congress has enough votes – two-thirds of the House and the Senate – to override a veto.

Fauci is desperately rewriting science and history as facts about covid’s origins are closer to being made public.

Fauci. Can’t that old bastard just die?

If you still have any doubt that Fauci has been lying all along, consider this:
The CDC has a patent on SARS COV 2. They don’t grant patents to things that occur in nature. They have to be man made.

Clearly a desperate man trying to save anything he can of his former so called “glory”. It more likely will be a case of Fauci going down in history along side the likes of Lysenko with the world asking “How could this have happened?” Now we know.

As if we didn’t know beforeAs if we didn’t know before that Dr fascist is full of s***…

The dog ate his homework.

Why is this man still walking free? He should be rotting in jail before his trial but this just shows the justice system is broken beyond repair. If any lay-person lied to Congress they would throw the book at them and they would be toast, but when you have dirt on everyone else you walk free. Lack of accountability is the largest subversion tactic being used against this country and it’s working.

Agreed, and for multiple reasons, as in perjury, bribery, disobeying a Presidential directive, conspiracy and crimes against humanity.

Concerning “bribery” “Bribery” by a government official usually consists of the official taking money, not giving money away. Fauci did bribe doctors to change their views on the origin of the virus, but is what he did illegal? Possibly under some statute other than the bribery laws. But Fauci will say the payout was a legit expenditure of money in order to further the interests of the US government (even if that “interest” was in gaslighting the public).

You have to be standing on your head to render such a logically inconsistent comment

He’s preparing for a time when it’s determined, officially, that the virus was engineered, so he can then push his current line of (so-called) reasoning to encompass that too.

“If an engineered virus was being studied in the lab, and someone in the lab became infected and then came out of the lab, then that’s still a natural occurrence, because it’s natural for viruses to infect people.”

Stupid, like his current statement. But Fauci can already feel the oxygen being depleted in his brain as the noose is constricting around his neck. What is coming out of his mouth now is are the garbled rantings of a desperate man.

No Covid amnesty. Not for anyone who authored, facilitated, supported or enabled this fiasco.

I thought public opinion of Fauci would turn drastically after beagle gate

I was surprised how little that was really looked at or talked about, such a horrible horrible experiment on these beautiful little souls

Well he was allowed to murder children with his AIDS experiments…

Well, if you were talking about saving children and puppies you’d have a totally different point and probably would have led to your outcome.

Leftists don’t actually have principles, so they cwn’t change their mind.

Most “normies” are NPCs who have nothing beyond their programming.

Fortunately for Fauci, CNN is Credulity-Free.

This made me laugh. It reminds me of a story a murderer concocts before trial, once he has access to the overwhelming evidence against him. Rather than plead guilty, he presents an outlandish, internally inconsistent yarn in the vain hope of a stupid or sympathetic jury.

“the pandemic could be considered a “natural occurrence” if the definition of lab leak meant that someone was infected in the wild and went “into a lab,” was studied in a lab, and then “came out of the lab.”

If I had some ham, I could make myself some ham and eggs, if I had some eggs.

Some of the J6 defendants have already been convicted and moved to prisons, so don’t try to tell me there’s no room at the Gulag Inn for Tony.

Keep an eye on all these people. They are conflating a “natural origin” for the virus with impossibility that it escaped from a lab. It is possible for a virus to have a natural origin, yet also for it to escape from a lab (the lab therefore becomes the origin of the pandemic). A lab origin for the pandemic does not require an engineered virus.

Fauci “Straining Credulity” on TV? I thought that was called “Tubining.”

Oh wait, Fauci’s is *mental*.

The follow up question should have been, “If leaks are a ‘natural occurrence’ in labs, then why do we have them?”
