‘Apologize for WHAT?’ We Lost Andrew Breitbart 11 Years Ago

‘Apologize for WHAT?’ We Lost Andrew Breitbart 11 Years Ago

I miss my old boss.

I don’t know how to write this. Whatever comes to mind I will put it down.

Andrew Breitbart is irreplaceable. I’m honored I worked for him. I’m honored he was a friend, even for a short time.

The left hated Andrew because they knew he was right. But they hardly ever confronted him because they knew they wouldn’t be able to hate him if they got close to him.

It was impossible not to like Andrew! The man was a teddy bear. Andrew made time for everyone. If he didn’t get to you, it wasn’t personal. He went 24/7 running his sites and taking care of his family.

The left also didn’t want to confront Andrew because they knew they would look like total jerks next to him because he wanted more voices, not fewer. He wouldn’t silence you. He wouldn’t censor or shut you up. He wanted all the voices.

Andrew loved freedom. He loved freedom for everyone.

Andrew never cowered. Not once.

Andrew was ahead of his time. We will say every year, “We need Andrew more than ever.” It’s true. We need Andrew more now than last year or the year before.

What could have been?

Despite not being able to replace Andrew, we can emulate him. Don’t apologize unless you 100% mess up. Stick up for your friends. Never fear to speak the truth. Never fear to call out anyone. Do not be afraid.

I don’t know what else to say. Just don’t ever forget Andrew Breitbart.

I met him at the Sarah Palin movie premiere in Pella, Iowa right before he passed. Recognized him in the crowd & introduced myself. I used to be a minor coblogger at the Ace of Spades HQ, and Andrew’s famous joke used to be that he read the AoSHQ for the comment section & totally ignored the original content there. We had a laugh over that and made small talk for a few minutes. I thought he was incredibly nice to talk to some rando from the middle of nowhere. Glad to have had the small time with the man that I got to enjoy. The Conservative movement will never be better in his absence.

Do you not write for aceofspadeshq anymore?

He’s was right about the comment section, I actually think some commenters should be writing comedy!

Andrew was the best of us. Like Rush, he seems irreplaceable. But we can learn from their success. Use humor, be as gracious as you’re able, and never back down. Do your homework. And most of all: Have fun.

As I often say, you can have fun even if they’re shooting at you.

Andrew was murdered, I’ll never believe otherwise.
I was surprised his family refused to go down that path at all.
He was just brilliant, I fell n mlove with him when he was reporting from Madison Wi, during the “peaceful protest “. Amazing that hundreds of protesters could cram into the State Capitol and they were not arrested, just peaceful protesters…

I generalluy don’t buy into murder conspiracies. Scalia was an 81 year old walking coronary waiting to happen, for example. In Breitbart’s case I often wonder, however, and my reason is this:

Before he passed, the site was informative, not too terribly laid out, and a very high percentage of the stories were serious and important;. Especially welcome was no popups, no blinky-flash ads, that sort of thing.

Within WEEKS of his passing, it turned into a cluttered jumble, and for a while, many of the stories barely rose above News of the World in quality or relevance. I don;t know or care who took it over. I was as much a regular there as I am here. I walked away from it fairly quickly.

I meant to say, someone wanted that site badly, and may have done something nasty to take an excellent site and make it into junk.

His family swears up and down he had a heart problem and knew it for at least a year.

And, I believe that. So many pounced on his passing being murfer. I’m open to being shown real proof but for now, don’t believe it.

It’s like when someone well known in their late 60s on up passes, sites like CFP show it as died “suddenly “ with the scare quotes.

I remember that protest. Protesters were marching outside carrying signs reading “Peaceful Protest!” while chanting the same. It was like a generic protest without a stated purpose. You would think it was staged as satire.

There was some feminist protest about the offense of the week in Portland. Two people I knew from Mensa joined the picketers waving signs that said “Rent This Space”.

I spoke to Andrew Breitbart a few times. He was one of the people who encouraged me to write. I’ve never removed his phone number from my phone.

I missed my chance to meet him 2 weeks before he died. He played the 1775 mayor of Portsmouth NH presiding over a hanging in a TV movie called “Courage New Hampshire”. I was just an extra because the producer was a Tea Party activist I met before but I couldn’t make that filming session. Monday morning having to fight that traffic on the 10 freeway… Too much. I had no idea he was even involved until a couple of days before. I was shocked the day he died.

We were ALL shocked. He had promised to vet the Kenyan.

I did not know this. Barely knew of Andrew or BB website at that time.

Vetting the “Kenyan” as you say could not be allowed by any means necessary.

Truth will out unless it is squashed.

His gift I could see from afar was to hijack the conversation to what the thing was really about.

From hijacking Huma’s Beard’s press conference, to walking right up to “protesters” with “Why did you egg my bus? What was that?” he had a genius for framing the conversation into what it was really about. “Hey, you disagree with me. Let’s talk. But you don’t have to throw eggs at me and the bus. What’s that?”

I use imaginary AB in my head to cross-check whether I am missing what’s going on. What would AB be on about?

— Keeping the govt open. So, why is this an emergency — didn’t you know this was coming.

— Who are the 87,000 new IRS agents gonna go after. That’s a lot of guys with guns and subpoenas.

— Maybe those guys are for turning every transaction over $600 into $650 and the chance of going to jail for the rest of your life. Why would you want to do that?
