As someone with awful depression who almost checked into a hospital three years ago, I sincerely hope Fetterman finds the help he needs.
I also hope the Democrats and all political people have learned their lesson: health is more important than a political position.

I have zero compassion for this man. Any more than I have compassion for a suicide bomber who has his bomb go off in his car on the way to the target. He was a terrible man even before his stroke, and then a willing participant in a monstrous fraud against the people of the United States and the people of Pennsylvania in particular.
That’s likely what the Dems want. Now that he’s won his election, let him step down and have Shapiro appoint a healthier (and more radical, if possible) Dem to replace him.
Not a chance all he has to do is
1. Ask if Joe Biden is a yes or a no
2. Take out pen
3. Write down Joe Biden’s response on any bill or law or nominee or other issue
There is nothing preventing him from fully serving as a Democrat senator with depression.
The position of senator should have things that you can’t do if you are incapacitated but it doesn’t.
They’re going to have to wheel him in, on a gurney – literally. This clown is on his way out.
Is his physical health worst than the other senator from PA?
He’s in a dilema. He needs to recover, but he can’t do that serving full time as a Senator. Or part time. He needs to resign from his seat. He cannot be an effective representative for his constituents under these circumstances.
It’s far too late for that. The time that Fetterman needed to “step back and recover” was right after his major stroke before the election campaign. Not during or after. But right after. And now it’s too late. There is no recovery possible for him. The damage is permanent and while he might not get worse he certainly will not be getting better than he is now. That’s just what happens when you neglect your health like he did. Do I have sympathy for him? Sure. It’s gotta be hell going through what he’s going through right now. But let’s not pretend that his handlers didn’t know this is exactly what was going to happen when they pushed him into staying in the campaign.
Listen, Fetterman is like Biden: he’s being pushed by his greedy, ambitious wife. Nonetheless. he knows what he’s doing.
Having sympathy for Fetterman is like having sympathy for Biden.
He should have never run for Senate. I don’t wish him ill will, and with all the cheating in Pa, a monkey would have won with a D after it’s name

IMO, deteriorating health was part of the plan, he resigns after an “appropriate” period of time and wife appointed Senator.
Medical professionals tell me he will be lucky to live out his term.
What… inadvertent lead or cyanide ingestion? He is now in a demanding environment not protected as Biden is. He KNOWS he can’t handle it and every moment is a reminder that he won’t recover any further. As a person, this is sad…but as someone who is supposed to represent people… it’s totally dishonest. Now we have one more politician on major meds. Paging Thomas Eagleton… plus pick up the courtesy electro-shock phone.
And when did these professionals examine him?
It’s the magnitude of his stroke, the fact that he had to have a pacemaker/defibrillator implanted on top and his poor progress

Depression seems like the least of his problems. It’s like he had a lung removed for smoking, then started again at two packs a day. This seems completely predictable. Will he ever make a speech on the Senate floor?

Democrats don’t learn lessons unless they are about how to increase their power. It was obvious this man had severe issues and they shoved him into this job anyway.

He volunteered to run for Senate. He could have stepped aside during the campaign. He could have resigned from the Senate this morning. He hasn’t made those choices. Instead he continues to allow himself to be used. The man retains, for now, his ability to communicate his wishes. So far he seems pretty set on the course of remaining a pawn. When he begins acting with true contrition and repentance we can all offer genuine redemption but the first step is his.
My sympathy ran out when he decided his political career was more important than his health. I wouldn’t wish a stroke on anyone, my brother had several, each a little more debilitating than previous until the final one killed him. His decision to attempt to continue a public life as a politician after his stroke was an incredibly selfish act. He and everyone else who went on the record as endorsing this fiasco should be ostracized for their actions.
He was doing his duty for The Party. Another placeholder rubber plant now in D.C. The original selection for the Senate was to represent the state…. now… The Party. If one goes back in time, Pennsylvania had political corruption prior to the Constitution. Nothing is new.

This isn’t on us. Senator Fetterman put himself there, and “his people” helped. Meawhile, party, The Apparatus, and the people of Pennsylvania would rather install this defective, damaged placeholder than act honestly toward us, or even look out for him.

About Fetterman himself, there is an old proverb that goes “Trusted are the wounds of a friend, but an enemy multiplies (smothers you with) kisses”. A friend would have told him “spend your remaining days with your loved ones, doing what you love to do” – but his enemies told him to keep running and blew smoke up his rear about his potential for recovery. The former would have shown love, the latter treated him like a meat sack. Absolute b’tards for what they did to him.
Like Jill Biden, Fetterman’s wife is no friend, but out for herself.

The Dems rushed him into power for simple reasons,
First, he was easy to control while in office. Second, he can be replaced by a person of their choice without having to face the voters again when he inevitably breaks.

The state is getting bluer, and with Pittsburgh and Philly, we would have elected a squirrel.

Not to be callous or indifferent to his trauma of a stroke, but there is the personal choice of indifference he chose to follow not caused by the stroke. Like Biden, those around him, used that which was part of his nature going so far as to enable him. How Pa. fills his seat in the Senate will be the tell. If it’s his wife, it was part of the plan by the party. If it is Gov. Shapiro, at age 49 with a possible career, one would hope he would chose wisely to have someone who engages to represent the entire country and the effects of it on the entire state of Pa. not just those in Harrisburg.
It is ALWAYS the wife when Democrats die in the Senate. Always.

Democrats did whatever it took to get the position, now that they have it they’re willing for Fetterman to abandon it until he gets his health right, or the next election comes around.
1. I wish him well in whatever future endeavors he pursues, and that he successfully overcomes his depression;
2. The story now is that he has been dealing with stress. Guess what, when a guy relied on his parents to support him for 40+ years; he failed as a small town mayor; he pretended to be a blue collar guy wearing hoodies and sporting strange ink; and Democrats make him a Poster Boy for Progressivism and push him into a serious national political race – he might feel some stress.
3. When he suffers a serious stroke and ignores his doctor’s advice to avoid stressful situations and campaigns against Dr. Oz – that’s his decision.
4. When his support group – his wife, his friends, his Democrat Party ignore his clear health issues and medical advice to put him into a situation that can only harm him – that’s on them.
5. I wonder when he will understand he was a Sacrificial Lamb for an immoral and uncaring National Socialist Democrat Party – hopefully soon for his health.

My wife is a licensed clinical psychiatrist. Checked with her. People with depression are not hospitalized for the condition itself. But they are when they are suicidal.
