James O’Keefe Out at Project Veritas, Updated with Video

James O’Keefe Out at Project Veritas, Updated with Video

James says he has been stripped of his duties as CEO and indefinitely suspended from his own board of directors.

Neil McCabe at OANN tweeted that James O’Keefe is out at Project Veritas.

We don’t have any backup yet, but we will add it when it comes out.

Project Veritas and James O’Keefe have been butting heads in the last few weeks. I haven’t written anything on it because it’s hard to weed out the truth, rumors, and white lies.

Update: Video of James addressing the Project Veritas team here. James says he has been stripped of his duties as CEO and indefinitely suspended from his own board of directors:

Big donors??? What about the many small donors??? I will wait and see what they do.

Small donors have no pull unless they can band together and become big donors!

Valerie in reply to mailman. | February 20, 2023 at 3:56 pm

Small donors can demand a return of their donations.

And your $50 gets you a head pat and eye roll among these sorts of organizations. And in any political campaign, come to think of it.

Sure, if only one of us does it. What if 250K of us do it?

Even if ten million did, it would still be individuals donors, not a lump donation with possible strings attached. I’ve long mused about the possibility of forming some sort of super pac for normal people (the ones who do small donations) because unless there is such a group donating tens of millions there is no real voice in policy, etc. It’s something that I consider along political lines, though, not for organizations like PV.

The point would be to create some kind of lobby for the American people that is just as prominent and powerful as those for various leftist causes. Anyway, I have no idea how such a thing would work, but it would get to the heart of the problem facing us in terms of political financing. Our $50 doesn’t matter, even in the tens of millions, if it’s ten million $50 donations and not a single donation of $500 million. Of course then there are laws about campaign contributions, etc., so it’s probably not doable.

But there is no comparison between big donors (who end up with access, ambassadorships, advisor roles, etc.) and thousands (or millions) of individual donors in terms of influence, a seat at the table, or voice. Sadly.

Well, this one pulled out same day.
But even if this kills the remaining “Project Veritas,” it’s only the useful idiots in power now who have lost — The Left won.

I wonder who got to the board of directors and wants access to not only PV’s donor list but their whistle blower and undercover journalist files as well. Hmmm…WH, FBI, DNC, Pfizer, individual congress people, other potential subjects of PV undercover investigations?

They’ll not get another penny from me.

Dathurtz in reply to Idonttweet. | February 20, 2023 at 1:58 pm

Probably a coincidence this happened right after he releases a video where the Pfizer guy admits they intentionally mutate new strains of covid and discusses how they are essentially unregulated because their regulators want Pfizer jobs later.

At least Drudge got paid big dollars for his baby. O’Keefe was screwed out of everything he built.

O’ Keene will rise again, he is PV

The left is really going balls to the walls with Oann, Newsmax, O’Keefe and others getting cancelled

To sure communication by conservatives is minuscule.

Fox News clearly censures all things positive about President Trump and anyone who is truly conservative, ie American First, with all
Roads leading to Paul
Ryan… and we know one
Governor who in the past,
When he was a congressman, stated when he grew up
He wanted to be just like Paul
Ryan…

Not a soft spot I see lol

Danny in reply to gonzotx. | February 20, 2023 at 2:50 pm

Yes they fired Sean Hannity and hired Don Lemon.

When you say something that just isn’t true like claiming Fox censures anything pro-Trump you undermine everything else you say and make it seem like a lie.

By the way Newsmax was a victim of Newsmax and nobody else.

gonzotx in reply to Danny. | February 20, 2023 at 3:36 pm

Sean Hannity does not speak to President Trump as he did before, he has been muzzled.
Newsmax was literally kicked out of Dorect TV despite out preforming several
      Liberal
News stations which DT actually GiVES money to to stay afloat!

Wait, Trump is personally and financially keeping leftist #FakeNews stations afloat? And you’re good with that? (Not sure I believe it, but seriously, do you hear yourself?)

Danny in reply to gonzotx. | February 20, 2023 at 8:38 pm

Anyone who has watched anything Hannity has said about Trump will know that is just b.s because Hannity is more or less openly a Trump hack.

Newsmax was kicked off direct tv and replaced by another conservative station because

From the article you didn’t read by someone who actually did the research on it

“All non-premium cable networks have a dual path to revenue, advertising, and carry fees. Advertising revenue doesn’t need an explanation. Carry fees are the money the cable provider (Optimum, Verizon, Spectrum, etc.) has to pay the network for rights to run the network. Usually, the carriage fees are based on the number of subscribers the Cable TV provider has.

Before the recent controversy, Newsmax had a very attractive carriage fee—zero. In exchange, Direct TV had to cede two minutes of advertising time to Newsmax to sell to advertisers.

Beginning on January 24, the end of their current carriage agreement, the network sought to convert DirecTV to a regular paid carry arrangement. This would cost Direct TV a few million dollars. But DirecTV stresses “that dropping Newsmax has nothing to do with attempts to block out conservative viewpoints, but rather it’s a business decision as the company deals with a shrinking pay-TV industry alongside increased costs for programming. As the price for content climbs, the operator then passes those costs onto consumers through price hikes.””

Sorry if it busts your worldview but Newsmax refused to recognize business reality.

We are no longer the business party but that doesn’t mean the basic rules of the marketplace no longer exist.

If a corporation is replacing one conservative voice with an equally conservative voice chances are it has to do with business not with ideology.

Paul Ryan is a quisling, no question about it.

Tucker is given the most leeway, but even he can only go so far…

Speaking of Tucker… this might be fun amd
Hopefully more than fun for the political prisoners of Jan 6

Unfortunately exactly as I cynically predicted when the PV statement came out.

After the backlash PV released a VERY CAREFULLY WORDED public statement that said that O’Keefe was ‘still employed’ at PV. Not ‘continuing in his role’, or ‘still the CEO’ or ‘still directing operations’, or anything else. No, ‘still employed’.

Meaning they stripped him of all actual authority and ability to do anything meaningful and put him in a windowless office with a desk and nothing else, to try and force him to resign so they could BS to the donors about how he ‘wasn’t fired’ in a pathetic attempt to keep their money flowing in.

Of course it won’t work. This is the kind of crap that works in a courtroom, not with public opinion.

Now the only question is what O’Keefe plans to do now. I fully expect him to make his next big release a tell-all about PV.

smalltownoklahoman | February 20, 2023 at 2:08 pm

O’Keefe will rise again, he has enough of a following that he won’t stay down for long. Think he’s definitely learned a lesson about structuring any future efforts and whether or not to have a board of directors. Hope he’ll be a lot more careful about making sure he can’t be ousted like this from whatever he creates next and will only leave when he’s good and ready to retire.

The statement that he is PV is absolutely true. My expectation is that they will un-bank him. You will not be able to donate or buy from him because no one will let him have an account. We absolutly cannot allow the Federal Reserve to go strictly digital. They want to get rid of cash altogether so they can cut you off completely. Number of the beast stuff.

It isn’t like PV produces a product, and O’Keefe just represented that product. O’Keefe IS the product. This is the most idiotic development imaginable.

Sad day, still wonder if it’s a Leftist takeover.
He was Project Veritas, without him it will go into oblivion

PV now becomes a branch of the Ministry of Truth.

Still waiting for information about what he actually did wrong. No matter, like most say here, he will rise again, unless the banishment was justified. So what gives?

I do hope O’Keefe erects a new outlet because to me, PV will always be under suspicion of the true cause to push him out.

The folks involved in this are damaging Veritas. O’Keefe can be successful without Veritas the reverse is unlikely. In the absence of crazy allegations of misconduct this doesn’t make sense other than ego. If he’s a tough guy to work for and demands perfection as the goal with excellence being the minimum standard then get out, go away and go find someone less demanding to work for.

Damaging Project Veritas is an extra benefit for the Left. I am assuming it was a combination of some or all of Pfizer, the Democrats, the FBI, and the GOPe that did this to a) try to silence O’Keefe and b) shut down Project Veritas. Right now, anyone who is on the PV Board of Directors can be assumed to be compromised either for money or by threats, and assumed to be part of the enemy.

I think it’s pretty clear what is going to be the target of O’Keefe’s next expose. He’s going to find the dirt on these Project Veritas lowlifes … and I have a feeling it’s going to be epic.

Meanwhile, I have to assume that Project Veritas contributions are going to drop to zero – outside of those who engineered this insane coup.

Because he had no sacred cows it was only a matter of time before he step on the wrong toes.

Probably a World Economic Forum coup that they put into action years ago. Any board members on the up and up would know this is suicide for the organization. Completely idiotic or deceitful tactic, you decide.

StillNeedToDrainTheSwamp | February 20, 2023 at 6:35 pm

The video to the staff of his departure address is 45 minutes, but worth the watch. I hope his first new expose / undercover will be whom on the board of Veritas got pressured or bribed to terminate him, which indeed will be the end of Project Veritas as it was before.

okay, Chastain, we some basic facts:
1. who are the persons on the Board who have the objections?
2. what are their objections?
3. what are O’Keefe’s responses to their objections?

Once the big idea becomes a fully baked racket, the barnacles have to push out the true believers to keep the grift going.
