John Fetterman Struggling in Senate, Describes Hearing Muffled Voices Sounding Like the Peanuts Teacher

John Fetterman Struggling in Senate, Describes Hearing Muffled Voices Sounding Like the Peanuts Teacher

INFURIATING. Those closest to him sound shocked that he has an intense workload. And now they admit he needs to slow down and take care of himself.

Remember when the Democrats and media scolded people for questioning then-Democratic Pennsylvania Senate candidate John Fetterman’s health after a near-fatal stroke in May 2022?

Remember when Fetterman’s wife Gisele demanded NBC punish a reporter who dared to ask him about his stroke?

Pepperidge Farm remembers. Pepperidge Farm remembers everyone expressing concerns about Fetterman’s health and ability to take on the workload in the Senate.

Well, look at what we have here. It turns out Sen. John Fetterman is now having trouble with his new job.

Fetterman was hospitalized on Thursday after feeling lightheaded at the Senate Democratic retreat.

Today, The New York Times published a lengthy piece detailing how Fetterman struggles in the Senate even with the adjustments the chamber made for him:

At Senator John Fetterman’s desk in the Senate chamber, there is a newly installed monitor that rises or lowers, depending on whether he sits or stands, and provides closed captioning so he can follow the proceedings. At the center dais, a custom desk stand has been built to accommodate the same technology for when he takes his shifts presiding over the Senate.

The sergeant-at-arms has arranged for live audio-to-text transcription for the committees on which Mr. Fetterman serves, and plans to expand the service to all Senate hearings.

Adam Jentleson, Fetterman’s chief of staff, repeats everything people said last year: “What you’re supposed to do to recover from this is to do as little as possible.”

It’s almost like Jentleson is shocked that Fetterman “was forced to do as much as possible – he had to get back to the campaign trail. It’s hard to claw that back.”

NO. WAY.

The media tried to downplay Fetterman’s hospitalization, but a light bulb went on over the heads of his staff. Maybe, just maybe, Fetterman needs “a better plan to take care of himself, both physically and emotionally.”

NO. WAY.

You mean to tell me that no one told Fetterman the job details:

Mr. Fetterman declined to be interviewed for this story. But aides and confidantes describe his introduction to the Senate as a difficult period, filled with unfamiliar duties that are taxing for someone still in recovery: meetings with constituents, attending caucus and committee meetings, appearing in public at White House events and at the State of the Union address, as well as making appearances in Pennsylvania.

This detail is the most disturbing because despite the adjustments made to help him with his hearing, it doesn’t always work (emphasis mine):

The most evident disability is a neurological condition that impairs his hearing. Mr. Fetterman suffers from auditory processing issues, forcing him to rely primarily on a tablet to transcribe what is being said to him. The hearing issues are inconsistent; they often get worse when he is in a stressful or unfamiliar situation. When it’s bad, Mr. Fetterman has described it as trying to make out the muffled voice of the teacher in the “Peanuts” cartoon, whose words could never be deciphered.

Are you kidding me?

Now we know that the implanted pacemaker and defibrillator took a “very real psychological toll on” Fetterman.

Another prediction comes true: “He has had to come to terms with the fact that he may have set himself back permanently by not taking the recommended amount of rest during the campaign. And he continues to push himself in ways that people close to him worry are detrimental.”

They’re worried about him now?

I think this is a legit question. Did the Democrats use Fetterman to get that 51st seat? This NYT report is awful to hear because so many people voiced these concerns during the campaign and were shot down, especially by his wife.

Let’s be honest. Mehmet Oz was a horrible candidate. Any Democrat could beat him. Why push Fetterman?

Of course, The New York Times mentioned the “attacks” on Fetterman’s health. Yeah, people could have been more sensitive, but there was nothing wrong with questioning if he was healthy enough to handle the Senate job. You don’t need to have family remember experiencing a stroke to know the toll it takes on someone, regardless of age.

Fetterman’s staff admitted, “that most people are reflexively compassionate about his condition.”

Yes, most of us wanted the Democrats to choose another candidate because Fetterman needed to devote 100% of his time to recover from a near-fatal stroke.

Do any of the voters that support this clown feel they have been duped yet? Rhetorical

Closed captions in movies prevent that effect.

Brain damaged democrats wanted to be represented, they got exactly what they asked for

“Fetterman declined to be interviewed for this story.”

Probably because he is incapable of speaking.

it was all about his wife taking over the seat starting this term.

Sure was slick how they snuck that one in. I have a feeling we’ll be learning quite a bit more about her pretty soon here.

Slick? Come on, we all knew it from the get go. Oz lost because the democrat media still has a monoply.

People in Pennsylvania had a tough decision to make:

1, Vote for somebody born in Ohio who became successful by working hard and graduating from Harvard University and University of Pennsylvania and later became a professor of surgery at Columbia University.

        2. Or they could vote for someone who never had a real job, lived off his parents, was given a house for $1 and can barely speak two words. But whose wife has political ambitions and can take over in a pinch.

        They choose #2.

I’m guessing that his wife made herself PNG to even the PA Dems. I would bet on the primary loser, Coner Lamb, replacing him if it comes to that.

Remember when his wife demanded NBC take action against Dasha Burns for reporting that he didn’t understand her when she talked to him?

The man should have stepped back, his family should have encouraged that, his close supporters should have done that, the d/prog machine should have done so. They didn’t. Instead they pushed a narrative that Fetterman would be fully capable of performing his duties as Senator. They viciously attacked anyone who dared to question his ability to meet the demands of the office.

When Fetterman resigns and his spouse declines any effort towards her appointment to replace him I will be willing to offer sympathy to them. They made the bed and now they can lay in it, until they voluntarily disassemble it.

That ‘teacher’s voice’ reminds me of my wife’s voice sometimes….especially when she doesn’t know I am writing on a blog.

Fetterman is clearly unfit for the job but Trump is responsible for his being elected because he supported Oz as a candidate when in fact any solid conservative would have beaten Fettterman

That’s perfect, because Fetterman dresses like Pigpen and has the mental capacity of Woodstock.

That’s my Senator, said as much about Sundowner that he won’t end the gear in office. But any vegetable can do what is needed for the Marxists

Congress: Fruits n Nuts – now with a vegetable!

Get well soon, Uncle Fester.

“John Fetterman is struggling”

Any person who had a major stroke would be struggling. And they should be struggling at home or in a hospital where they can receive proper care, not immediately afterward, be elected to to the Senate.

“He has had to come to terms with the fact that he may have set himself back permanently by not taking the recommended amount of rest during the campaign.”

Devil’s bargains tend to be expensive. And you get what you bargained for, not what you hoped.

It’s not like the ambitious among The Screaming D’s don’t get this. Herself got a shot at being Prezzy out of here deal with Slick Willy, not a guarantee that she’d get it. His deal was pretty much the same — pairing with that operative was the only way he’d actually advance politically. BUT, he didn’t get to be consequential-guy the way he hoped.

These people should all go listen to a Charlie Daniels song. I’d say read Faust but there’s no way…

He thought the senator job would be easy… like being president.

“Describes Hearing Muffled Voices Sounding Like the Peanuts Teacher”

Don’t worry… soon, the Great Pumpkin will rise off your neck to visit all the good little blue Senators and staffers.

Me and my broken brain have a hint for Lurch, there: The Golden Ticket is learning to live fully within what you are and have now.

That’s the same as “normal life.” “There’s no such thing as “normal life”, there’s just life.” BUT, you can get that hint if you pay attention when you take a brain whack. Totally not worth the price, BUT since you paid the tuition, might as well take the lesson.

______

The diagnosis would be “Aphasia” due to brain damage in the areas that are used to process language (both spoken & written). Often caused by strokes.

What is Aphasia [<–LINK]

Receptive….. He also has expressive problems… both initiating speech and selecting the right word. Cognitive testing would see what lurks beneath the aphasia but we aren’t allowed to know. And they dumped Eagleton for less.

Fishman in reply to alaskabob. | February 10, 2023 at 5:49 pm

I agree, this is receptive aphasia, and yes he has expressive also. He probably has evidence of vascular dementia now. Joe, I think, has frontotemporal dementia. Fet is just dangerous since he can vote, Joe on the other hand could be lethal for us all

alaskabob in reply to Fishman. | February 10, 2023 at 8:28 pm

Joe is parkinsonian. With the aneurisms and surgery, he ran out of spare neurons a long time ago. His “personality” would fit FTD in some ways. The brain damage has further unmasked his predilections. They have gotten his med cocktail very well tuned…. pretty good job with the drugs. Even with Kennedy as a reference… Biden is the most juiced prez in history. I am certsain they have plenty of people around to stop him from playing “football”.

As for FET … could almost outline the areas that got hammered. Not much coming back at this point and also downhill quicker from now on. He is in office …. but not of his own making.

“They have gotten his med cocktail very well tuned…. pretty good job with the drugs.”

They no longer calculate his dosage in mg’s, he is taking the stuff by the gallon.

Biden’s threat to America isn’t his dementia. it’s his corruption and treason.

BierceAmbrose in reply to alaskabob. | February 11, 2023 at 11:58 pm

What’s your background? You’re spot on here.

“he ran out of spare neurons a long time ago.”

Yep. A good, and useful perspective for TBI recovery, aging and managing through some other diseases. In neuro-land, “neuroplasticity” and simple resilience are mainly rewiring and retasking. The brain carries spares at several levels. There is some neurogenesis we now know, but limited and under narrow conditions.

A “recovery” protocol from TBI came out of research in Montreal some years back. It works, but it’s a bitch. It resembles nothing so much as training protocols for physical high-performance, like training up from couch-potato to passing a black-belt test after a triathalon.

Fetterman’s chosen situation allows for none of that. He’s not gonna get better. Indeed his chosen circumstances will steadily damage him more. In effect, he’s putting his brain in a situation analogous to permanent over-training.

We “spend” our lives, literally. If Fetterman wants to spend down his function to do what he’s doing, that’s his call. I’m not clear he’d understand that call with all his former little gray cells. From what I’ve seen, I’d give long odds against his being capable of making that call now, and longer odds against his being able to act on his choice. The man’s not in control.

henrybowman in reply to alaskabob. | February 10, 2023 at 9:45 pm

“He also has expressive problems… both initiating speech and selecting the right word.”
Like beginning a crucial debate with, “Hi, goodnight, everybody.”

They don’t love eachother. They will just as freely betray one and other as they would you or I and feel nothing about it, as they climb even their brothers’ bodies in their ascent towards power.

Yet each one is so surprised when their erstwhile comrade in arms slips the knife in and begins to use their course as yet another step in their scramble for the top.

Otto Kringelein | February 10, 2023 at 3:39 pm

My question is how much did all this closed captioning and assistive technology cost the U.S. taxpayer to purchase and install. And how much is it costing the U.S. taxpayer to have a person available at all times in the Senate chamber (and possibly everywhere else) to transcribe what is being said into text on this fancy assistive technology that he needs to even understand what is being said.

Fetterman has achieved the impossible: he made Sen. Cory Booker look competent!

filled with unfamiliar duties
Yes, there’s all that work to do, instead of cutting ribbons and taking bribes and greeting Boy Scouts getting their government merit badges.

Senator Sling Blade is the logical conclusion of the left’s putting puppets in power. And here I thought Obama was the logical conclusion. Then I thought Biden was the logical conclusion. Then I thought AOC was the logical conclusion. Then I thought Omar was the logical conclusion. Then I thought Mazie Hirono was the logical conclusion. Then I thought Mitt Romney was the logical conclusion. Then I thought McConnell was the logical conclusion.

As Senator Sling Blade continues his mental decline, I believe the logical conclusion will be Senator Sling Blade governing while in a permenant coma.

Sling Blade:

Besides any idiot can mark his ( or her) vote down for the Marxist side, his disability doesn’t stop that.

Yeah, it’s bad the Dems lied and tried to cover up how bad Fetterman’s conditions was to win the election. However, his condition was a very poorly kept secret, and the PA voters elected him anyway. They wanted a Dem, rather than Trump=endored Dr. Oz, and now we all are are stuck with the most impaired member of Congress in anyone’s memory.

I will contend to my grave Pennsylvania voters didn’t vote for Fetterman, the Mail fraud takes care of that,

perhaps on purpose?–the header photo is eerily reminiscent of an obit photo–regardless, a shining example of a prog politician who despite being mentally / physically incapable of fulfilling the duties of a us senator is “elected” anyway–the rest of the country wonders “how is this possible?”

Makes total sense to both of them.

“On Friday, Sen. John Fetterman’s (D-Pa.) chief of staff stated that campaigning last year may have caused the senator permanent brain damage.”

Really…are you sure? Duh…..

I feel sorry for him on a humanistic level. But that’s about it. That Penna. voters and election officials and others let him get elected boggles my mind.

Before the stroke he was a sideshow barker, a snake oil salesman, a low-level grifter. That should have been reason enough not to elect him. Why they continued to back him after the stroke is another question altogether.

Yet another example of how crazy our society must appear to outsiders with unclouded eyes and without bias.

henrybowman in reply to WestRock. | February 11, 2023 at 6:48 pm

I don’t feel sorry for him at all.
Thousands of wiser people spent months continually warning Pennsylvania voters that Fetterman was a high-speed train pulling a score of flaming dumpsters.
We’ve more than earned our front row seats to the inevitable train crash, and I intend to enjoy it.

I do wish Fetterman all the best in recovery that makes his life better.

But seriously Pennsylvanian voters, what in the blazes were you thinking?
