Equal Protection Project (EqualProtect.org) Launched To Fight Equity Discrimination

“We are starting equalprotect.org, the Equal Protection Project, because we’re seeing very troubling patterns in society…. We are seeing that unfortunately, under the concept of equity, that there is outright discrimination on the basis of race.”

The Equal Protection Project (EqualProtect.org) is the newest project of the Legal Insurrection Foundation. I was honored to be able to announce the launch of EPP on Tucker Carlson Tonight:

TUCKER: Well under the term equity, Joe Biden has made racial discrimination, open racial discrimination, mandatory at all levels of the federal government. That’s illegal. It’s completely immoral. Most Americans oppose it, hate it, but very few lawyers have organized to stop it. Bill Jacobson is one who might actually do that. He’s president of the of Legal Insurrection. He’s announcing tonight an initiative called the Equal Protection Project devoted to fair treatment of all Americans under the law without regard to race. The group scouting principle is there is no good racism. It’s equalprotect.org, and we are honored to Bill Jacobson join us tonight to explain what it is. Bill Jacobson, thanks so much for coming on. Lay this out for us, if you would.

WAJ: Sure, Tucker. Thanks for having me on. So we are starting equalprotect.org, the Equal Protection Project, because we’re seeing very troubling patterns in society.

Our highest ideal as a society is enshrined in the Constitution, the 14th Amendment, and federal, state and local law, which is you do not discriminate on the basis of race or ethnicity. And we are seeing that unfortunately, under the concept of equity, that there is outright discrimination on the basis of race.

A perfect example is in Providence, Rhode Island, where I’m located right now. the Providence School District, the largest in Rhode Island, has founded a program for teacher loan forgiveness, new teacher loan forgiveness, funded by the Rhode Island Foundation, the largest charity in Rhode Island. There’s one catch to it. You cannot apply unless you are non-white. So they have are openly discriminating against new white teachers with this program. And nobody seems to blink an eye at it.

We have filed a federal complaint about it. We are pursuing it, but nobody is challenging this. The Governor is no place to be found. The Attorney General is no place to be found. This is a government program to discriminate and unfortunately that’s what has happened to the equity agenda. And we’re getting reports from around the country of these sort of problems.

So we are organizing to investigate these things, to expose them and if necessary, to litigate them. And one of the things we’re doing, and you can sign up at our website if you’re a lawyer who wants to help in this effort, at equalprotect.org, a lawyers network speakers Because this has to be a national effort. As you mentioned, the Biden administration’s behind it also. So that’s what we’re doing and we ask people to come and visit and join us.

TUCKER: Yeah, you can’t just let them construct a new Jim Crow and ignore it. And thank you for soliciting the help of other lawyers. This needs an organized framework and I think you’re providing it and we appreciate it. Bill Jacobson. Thank you.

WAJ: Great. Thank you.

A daring endeavor, Professor (and the team at L.I.). I still marvel that something of this scope would be needed in these days of ‘enlightenment.’

I hope MANY other, Constitutional lawyers jump on board to help you in this effort.

Like former students. I doubt the Professor will have trouble finding eager candidates chomping at the bit to be part of something historic. The big money law firms can wait. This is a big time opportunity t prove their chops.

So much this. I can’t decide whether I love it more because it’s right, or because it’s yummie for all the wrong reasons. I get so confused when my schadenfreude and my ethics line up.

I hope you are correct. I think the larger the network, the more protected William Jacobson and LI will be.

To be certain, all the powers of evil will come after this man and his organization to destroy the effort a la Alinsky, if the attack hasn’t already been launched.

You have Tuckers respect Professor and all of ours…

Um, didn’t you just imply that Griz is a brown noser? What does this comment make you? Especially since you know from his responses to comments that the prof thinks your Trump idolatry and attacks on DeSantis are beyond the pale.

Great job!

Worthy project and securing an appearance on Tucker to spread the word is more important than many realize.

Prof., thank you for continuing to fight the good fight! My prayers are with you and your endeavors.

Those fighting the good fight must fight it with one arm tied behind their backs. These schemes are always presented as a remedy for racism, the proof of which is disparate impact. To even hint at the possibility of innate differences is suicide, so the argument is lost at the outset. This will only get worse until a world changing calamity strikes.

Thank you professor for all you do and for your courage and energy to take the fight to the opposition.

I admire you. Your family should be extremely proud of you.

Excellent news! Other lawyers will have to choose soon. The other side of this argument is the drivel written by Ibram Kendi: ‘The only remedy to past discrimination is present discrimination. The only remedy to present discrimination is future discrimination.’ A fight between equity and equality.

This year, 2023, is the fiftieth anniversary of the Federal government’s discriminating against white males on the basis of their race and sex — in the domain of college teaching. The Feds used the marketing slogan “Affirmative” [sic] Action to label their onslaught. They intimidated colleges by threatening to withhold all Federal monies if the colleges did not increase the %s of “minorities” and females on their tenure-track teaching rosters — which meant, since college teaching was and is a zero-sum game, that colleges must DECREASE the % of white male teachers.
That major change in the system of hiring college teachers — substituting racial and sexual preference for merit — hit JUST as I was finishing my Ph.D. in Philosophy…as a white male who had provided active duty military service to my country in time of war (not required of the now-preferred females, BTW). I was destroyed by my own national government,
A half-century. 1973-2023. I have created a logo to memorialize that half-century. This abomination is hardly new. There have been actual victims, people denied not only livelihoods, but a voice. And sympathy, since sympathy does not naturally flow toward educated white males.

I don’t have nearly that much education; just a telecom and film AA from Pasadena City College. Around that same time I was seeking a radio or television gig. Even some 250 watt peanut whistle of a station would have been fine; it would have provided me on-air experience, and the chance to find bigger and better places.

Bang. the FCC mandated quotas for indoor plumbing and being black. Scrutiny of license renewal was the threat, and the usual trouble-making “civil rights” groups discovered the contesting of license renewals.

I went on to other things.

To this day, I get asked if I was ever a radio announcer. I have the voice for radio. (I have also been jokingly told I have the face for radio as well.)

I’m sorry you were hit, GG. I, too, went on to other things — to Information Technology management. And after a decade of success at building business, I was finally about to receive a merited significant financial reward when the Federal government stepped in, took that away from me, and gave it to a “small disadvantaged” business under a Federal preference-in-contracting policy known as “the 8(a) set-aside program”.
Thus had anti-white-male discrimination spread throughout our society, and that spread continued.
(p.s. On November 9, 1987 I was interviewed by Larry Mantle on KPCC FM 89, the Pasadena City College radio station.)

KPCC. Formerly KPCS. When I was a TelCom major there, I did a 30 minute program, called The Swing Era. Just on a whim, I sent a letter to Chuck Cecil; he had a syndicated show called The Swingin’ Years. I asked him to tune me in should he be in our signal area on that date and time. He made a point of doing so, and sent me a nice note.

A lot of us got clipped various ways.

I’d be more impressed with the Coalition of the Perennially Indignant if they were interested in redressing past wrongs on their own backs. Declining to step up looks like posturing. Proclaiming what Must Be Done for, by, or to others looks like revenge. Extracting redress for someone else looks like greed, or hatred, or both.

The first step in convincing people of something uncomfortable, is to be admirable yourself. Our betters don’t seem to have figured that one out, yet.

The words “affirmative” and “affirming” have take a real beating from the leftists.

Similar to “fair, justice, equality” etc.

Philosopher1’s complaint about racism and sexism in college hiring is well-founded. I was on the other side of the hiring process, as a member of search committees. On every committee, all members knew that we should try to find a qualified (or semi-qualified) minority if we possibly could, and if not a minority, at least find a woman.

Usually the mandate was unspoken, so sometimes the best candidate would be chosen even if he were a white male. But on some searches, committees were told that their search would be terminated if one of the top three candidates was a white male. Philosopher1 would be tossed out even if he was the best-qualified candidate.

Someone must commence immediate legal action to challenge the most recent executive order that embeds equitythroughout the federal bureauracy aka the Deep State

Malcolm Gladwell’s Law of the Few:

Major cultural changes are always instigated by a small vanguard elite who have the courage of their convictions and the outsized drive to move mountains.

Always.

Since I brought up Malcolm Gladwell and this is very much a David vs Goliath effort, I thought I would add Gladwell’s assessment of that famous biblical contest (Goliath never had a chance).

Hard to believe at first but it makes sense. Giants don’t necessarily hold the advantage over smaller foes.

BierceAmbrose in reply to Pasadena Phil. | February 25, 2023 at 5:37 pm

“…convictions and the outsized drive to move mountains.

    Always.”

That’s not how this works. That’s not how any of this works. Nobody trusts a zealot. If you want to advance your ideas (vs. advancing yourself on your ideas’ backs) you first need to be The Most Skeptical of your own beloved insights.

“Every great cause begins as a movement, becomes a business, and eventually degenerates into a racket.” ― Eric Hoffer

Not sure Gladwell, there, really wanted to invoke Vanguard Theory., which, granted, skips a couple steps to start out as a racket. His little story invites people to feel better about themselves for being the first to impose The Great Leap Forward on others. Dramatic. A few other things, too.

If he wants to say something useful about transforming ideas he should also reference Chesterton’s Fence, and Kuhn’s The Structure of Scientific Revolutions.

He won’t. Gladwell, there, has a talent for packaging potentially useful insights into shallow hot takes that sell books to people who want to think themselves smart. That is the business he’s in, after all.

Question – since the effort seems to be funded by a private organization (granted at the behest of the state government) can the progs simply get around it by referring teachers to the org and let them do their discriminatory thing?

I only hope that those dedicated to the destruction of the USA do not join this organization under cover of falsehood in order to undermine it as they have ruined so many other organizations; I hope the vetting process is better than excellent.

Like what just happened to Project Veritas?
    They won’t win that one.
PV just lost over 300,000 followers on Twitter…and James has more followers under his own name than the soon to be defunct organization he founded.
Donors like myself will follow James.

Good luck professor.
I wish I had a law degree so I could offer my free services in this fight …but I don’t.
But I can offer my financial support …which I will.
This is a battle where REAL fairness…and the law, as written, is on our side.

What’s good for Prof. William Jacobson is good for the USA.

Be wary of saboteurs!

I read a few days ago that House Rep David Cicilline is resigning his house seat June 1 to run the Rhode Island Foundation. It would be a glorious day to see you wipe the floor with that idiot in a court of law.

Bravo Zulu.

Thank you for what you are doing. I likewise have witnessed the progressive bulldozer use racism, discrimination, and Marxism to corrupt our medical student admissions under the guise of equity of outcome.

I concur with your friends who warn you to be vigilant. The opposition is as ruthless and amoral as the Sinaloa Cartel (if not funded by them).

How long before the left starts digging through Prof Jacobson’s yearbooks?
