‘DeSantis Will Be Worse Than Trump’ Media Narrative Rides Again

‘DeSantis Will Be Worse Than Trump’ Media Narrative Rides Again

“Donald Trump was and is a lazy, ignorant narcissist. The Florida governor is a smart, motivated, very right-wing Catholic who wants to remake America as he imagines God wants it to be.”

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis came out smelling like a rose last month after he racked up some important political victories against wokeism in higher ed, which is likely a big reason why he continues to take incoming fire from the likes of former president and 2024 GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump as well as his detractors on the left.

Many of DeSantis’ media/far-left critics evidently still think that painting him as “worse than Trump” is a surefire way of scaring away independents, disaffected Democrats, and supposedly “principled” Republicans in the event DeSantis declares his intention to run for president.

The latest example comes courtesy of The New Republic, which published a piece written by self-described senior defense analyst and former naval aviator Brynn Tannehill, who attacked DeSantis on religious grounds and let us know that DeSantis is a “very right-wing Catholic who wants to remake America as he imagines God wants it to be:”

Donald Trump was and is a lazy, ignorant narcissist. The Florida governor is a smart, motivated, very right-wing Catholic who wants to remake America as he imagines God wants it to be.

Tannehill reiterated her point later in the piece:

DeSantis fully intends to remake America the way he believes God would want it to be, and his knowledge of law and governmental structure allows him to do it on a scale, and with a precision, that Trump could only dream about.

“In reality, DeSantis is pursuing one of the most aggressively authoritarian agendas in the country,” she alleged, citing, among other things, how he allegedly “quietly packed both the Florida Board of Medicine and the New College Board of Trustees with ideological fellow travelers to bend institutions to their will” and him signing the Florida Parental Rights in Education Act into law last year.

Almost every attack Tannehill lobbed at DeSantis was on religious grounds, claiming in a nutshell as so many other anti-DeSantis/anti-GOP presidential candidate pieces have in the past that he’ll send America back to the dark ages.

The attacks especially make sense when you learn that not only is she a left-wing lesbian who has an unsurprising bone to pick with right-wing politicians in general, but that her Twitter timeline is filled with Code Red tweets and retweets about the GOP’s supposed war on the LGBTQ community.

As others noted, however, this has become an all-too-predictable tactic from the media and the left, as they say, this every presidential election cycle, no matter who the viable contenders on the Republican side happen to be:

Yep. If DeSantis does run and wins it all, it will only be a matter of time before The Usual Suspects start banging the “I wish we had Trump back” drum. Bank on it.

‘Worse than Trump’ is Democrat speak for more effective than Trump. Thus they fear him. Hell, they fear just about everything even though they control most everything..

When you watch what they actually say it makes word salad look reasonable. DeSantis is constantly given mutually contradictory criticisms:
–He’s more of a tyrant than Trump and is looking to rule over all of us in a way that Trump could only dream of.
–He’s a Trump puppet who has always done whatever he said.
–He’s a tool of the Republican establishment, just like Trump
    etc….

Of you want Trump police’s , you have to have Trump, that’s who they really are scared of.. the rest is BS

Evil Otto in reply to gonzotx. | February 10, 2023 at 9:22 pm

I want better than Trump’s policies. And I want someone who doesn’t let his ego rule him. That’s not Trump.

No offense, but they are all ruled by ego. Some mask it better than others. With Trump, you got the real thing. Transparency plus. Trump was not the poison. It was Obama. Throughout his term and then on January 6, 2017, the Sedition Meeting in the Oval Office, designed to destroy Trump while in office, even though they knew it was based on lies.

Not taking sides. But let’s not act like it’s ego that matters, when there are real issues at play. Otherwise, it seems like criticism for mean tweets.

Sorry, no. I don’t agree with that at all. Having an ego is a requirement for seeking office… but being RULED by it is a totally different matter. Trump can’t turn his off, and it causes him to make bad decisions. He endorses bad candidates, he attacks potential opponents savagely and kisses up to terrible people because he likes them.

Look at what’s going on right now. Trump isn’t attacking DeSantis’ policies, which are good, he’s issuing PERSONAL ATTACKS. Calling someone a “groomer” is a serious charge, and the fact that it’s Trump doing so provides ammo for the Democrats. “See? Even Donald Trump says he’s a groomer!” It damages DeSantis for the future just so Trump can clear the board right now. Even if Trump were to win in 2024 he has one term left and that’s it… what about 2028? Trump doesn’t seem to care one bit.

You’re kidding yourself. It was not Trump’s ego that caused him to make so many good decisions as president. Guess he can turn it off.

As for the jostling with DeSantis, they are both big boys. It’s more the media and others that blow it out of proportion., as if one or the other needs help.

Will you support Trump if he wins? Watching how people flip so fast is interesting.

“You’re kidding yourself. It was not Trump’s ego that caused him to make so many good decisions as president. Guess he can turn it off.”

Like letting Fauci run riot for a year? Like pushing vaccines? Like pushing gun control (and then retreating)? You pretend he made nothing but good decisions, and he made some terrible ones as well.

Trump isn’t “jostling.” He’s making repeated, vicious attacks against someone on the same team. I’ve had it with him.

“Will you support Trump if he wins? Watching how people flip so fast is interesting.”

No, I will not. If he wins the nomination I will leave the presidential vote blank. Feel free to call me any unpleasant name you like, tell me I’m the enemy, whatever. That’s how you Trump supporters operate, and it doesn’t change minds. It’s not “flipping.” Politicians are hired help. I don’t owe him anything. I only support those who I feel are working in my interest, and I no longer feel Trump is doing so.

Suddenly, Trump can do no rights and was an abysmal failure.

Dimsdale in reply to Evil Otto. | February 11, 2023 at 8:03 am

Who cares about his ego? He got results, the kind that made America stronger and more economically vibrant.

I don’t care if he sniffs little girl’s heads or showers with his daughter…ooops! Wrong guy.

        Mean tweets. Oooo, scary!

Bottom line: four more years with Trump (or DeSantis) beats the heck out of four with Biden or some other puppet they select. I mean, can you imagine Newsome???? Particularly after his “successes” with Californica?

Evil Otto in reply to Dimsdale. | February 11, 2023 at 9:20 am

I care, because his ego drives his ACTIONS. His actions are damaging to other Republicans… not just RINOs, but the genuinely good ones like DeSantis.

He called my governor, the most successful conservative governor in the country, a GROOMER. That’s not a disagreement with policy, not a standard political hit, it’s an outright personal attack. It’s an attempt to clear the board of a rival for no more reason than he’s a rival. It’s not like Trump has ever shied away from this sort of crude attack. Remember his attacks on Ted Cruz’s family? In more civilized times DeSantis would have challenged him to a duel. Thankfully DeSantis gave a calmer response than I would have, and merely dismissed Trump.

I’m done with Trump and this crap. As a Floridian I’ve watched DeSantis spend the last four years systematically tearing the Democrats a new a-hole. He’s been hitting them from all sides… attacking CRT, trans activists, rogue prosecutors, Democrat voter fraud machines, vaccine passports, lockdowns, and even DISNEY. Since he left office Trump has issued digital trading cards, held rallies, and made a Twitter clone. He’s still acting like it’s 2016 and he can run an insurgent candidacy, and the results will be no different than 2020. DeSantis understands the Democrats in a way Trump never did.

Yes, Trump is better than Biden. So what? Any Republican would be. That’s not a high bar. I don’t see any sign that Trump has learned one d*mned thing.

The woke media hate DeSantis because he is a conservative who knows to fight against the woke mob in a politically effective and constitutional manner without Trump’s negatives . He is a far more effective governor than Trump was as a president

Without Trump Negatives, all he did was fight for us and you want vanilla

    Ungrateful

CommoChief in reply to gonzotx. | February 10, 2023 at 5:17 pm

What impresses many about DeSantis is that he doesn’t just talk about doing something, when he fights he wins the confrontation. Fair or unfair a comparison to DJT on his failure to deliver a border wall, IMO the reason he got elected, is being made.

inspectorudy in reply to CommoChief. | February 11, 2023 at 11:48 am

Chief, you picked a good example of how Trump and his ego made getting things done almost impossible in DC. He was hated by many on his side of the aisle and by all on the other. Instead of working with his people, he berated them and threatened them. The wall should have been a slam dunk with a Republican House and Senate but he made it into a battle. I too hoped he had learned to do some things differently but I have been disappointed so far. His childish attacks on DeSantis are proof that he is using the 2016 tactics of insults and mockery. It won’t work this time.

CommoChief in reply to inspectorudy. | February 11, 2023 at 5:04 pm

On the wall I don’t think it was ego but more so an unfamiliarity or naivety with the depth of the DC establishment opposition on the issue. I honestly think he was shocked when Ryan and McConnell opposed his signature campaign issue. Mistake #1, underestimate the DC swamp establishment.

His second error was not calling the bluff. When presented a budget without the funding he should have vetoed it. Instead he allowed himself to be convinced not to do it. As we know that was THE opportunity and it was squandered, unintentionally, but a lost opportunity nonetheless. Half a decade+ later and we still have millions of illegals pouring into the Nation. All in all it was more arrogance than ego that was to blame in my opinion.

Pathetic. Trump shut the border down and he did it with Mexico paying for it. He had the Mexican National Guard on the border stopping the flow of illegals, the least coming across since the 60’s.

No wall will work without the will to man it and enforce the laws. And the republican controlled house and senate refused to appropriate the $$ to build the wall. It was the GOP that wouldn’t build the wall and you damn well know it.

          Fake.

CommoChief in reply to inspectorudy. | February 12, 2023 at 12:39 pm

No one disputes the establishment of DC, to include the GoP leadership /donor class/ think tanks, were United in opposition to providing border wall funding or meaningful enforcement. I specifically called out that opposition in the comment.

Trump though did fail to use full power of his office by not using his veto power.. That’s a fact and not up for debate. While a border wall isn’t by itself going to solve illegal immigration it is both a physical barrier and often overlooked a psychological one.

The completion of the wall is a powerful signal of National intent and will. Subsequent Presidents will be hounded with video and still photos of crossings in areas that are unmanned. That’s powerful imagery that undercuts BS claims that those admins would try to make that they were living up to their responsibilities.

In sum, Trump failed to fight the GoP and DC establishment tooth and nail on this. Why did Trump betray the voters on his central campaign issue that he would ‘build a big beautiful wall’? IMO he allowed his closest advisors, Jared Kushner and his daughter Ivanka Trump to convince him not to use the veto.

I don’t place 100% of the blame on Trump, far from it. I do place blame on his failure to use his veto to beat back the DC establishment on this issue. That use would have created a showdown between Trump and Congress. The weasels in the GoP in DC would have been forced to give in to Trump or vote against the border wall funding to override his veto.

That was, IMO, THE pivotal test of his Presidency and unfortunately he backed down and got rolled by Ryan and McConnell and rest of the DC establishment. You can disagree whether that was THE moment but you must accept the fact that Trump didn’t use his veto and we do not have the ‘big, beautiful border wall’ he promised us.

Let’s just start with a short list of things President Trump did:

          1) stopped ISIS cold
          2) EO stopping the drug companies from charging medicare more than what they charged foreign countries
          3) EO forcing hospitals to disclose their prices
          4) Move the US embassy in Israel to Jerusalem
          5) ENERGY INDEPENDENCE for the first time in my lifetime of 70 years, and record low energy prices
          6) Started no new wars
          7) Elimination of regulations, required to eliminate 8 to add a new one
          8) Cut Taxes across the board
          9) Increased the individual tax credit eliminating the need to file more complicated returns
          10) Started the space force, sorely needed today
          11) Replaced NAFTA with an agreement better for American workers
          12) Put tariffs on china, starting the process of moving American production out of the enemy’s land
          13) Brought back massive amounts of money saved in foreign countries
          14) Withdrew from the farce know as the Paris Climate Accords
          15) Withdrew from the Iran deal
          16) Increased the $$$ of the average family by over 5K IIRC
          17) Started the process of fixing the VA
          18) Increased the spending by other NATO countries
          19) Killed the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP)
          20) Created several million jobs, actual creation not bafflegab bullshit
          21) Economic growth rates were going up, somewhere around 4% before the marxist killed the economy with the scam chinaVirus
          22) Lowest rate of unemployment ever, across the board for blacks, hispanics, asians, veterans, etc.
          23) Opened ANWAR and had the Keystone pipeline being constructed

There is much more of course.

That’s just a short list. Trump did this by himself, with little to no help from the republican party opposition from the republican party and the democrats. He did this while the deep state through the FBI, intelligence agencies, congress, and the DOJ were conducting illegal surveillance and investigations. But Trump didn’t falter, didn’t stop. He just kept on working.

No one else was capable of doing this, no one else has ever done this, no one else will.

Danny in reply to gonzotx. | February 10, 2023 at 9:52 pm

He want someone who actually fights effectively which is frankly not Trump.

      Lets look at Trump results

2016-Lost the popular vote (he was nowhere near 50%+1 of the population) barely won the electoral college by heavily contesting states Hillary considered a safe blue wall. Notably Mitt Romney got more Wisconsin votes in his 2012 catastrophe in Wisconsin than Trump’s victory in 2016. In other words he won entirely because of Hillary’s incompetence and literally any other Republican also would have won.

      2018-Massive blue wave year

2020-Lost the presidency and the senate

2022-Turned what should have been a red wave into what we actually got, Democrats expanded from a tied senate to a one seat majority.

We want to win. We don’t owe Trump a second Biden administration.

Evil Otto in reply to Danny. | February 11, 2023 at 9:25 am

This exactly. Trump won in 2016 because of Democrat arrogance. They thought Hillary was an easy win, and so they didn’t even consider the idea that Trump could take safe areas out of their control. He took them by surprise. They underestimated voter discontent, they underestimated Hillary’s appeal, and they were lazy.

The Democrats are like the Borg in Star Trek… you can’t defeat them the same way twice. They were ready for him in 2020. And they’ll be ready for him in 2024. Trump is the baseball player who nails a pitcher with a grand slam homer and wins the game… but when the pitcher realizes the guy always swings for the bleachers then he ceases to be a threat in the next game. Trump has one tactic: the wild swing.

The difference between being president and governor is quite distinguishable.

Not to mention that one was faced with an unprecedented opposition to his effectiveness.

Which didn’t include most senate republicans.

Sorry, we’re not going down the rabbit hole of conspiracy theories about DeSantis OR Trump. You can get those at the anti-DeSantis conspiracy websites and social media personalities a handful of people like to promote in the comment section – such as that DeSantis is “controlled” by globalists and blah blah blah. It’s the flip side of the lefties claiming Trump is a Putin puppet. Now you are promoting the lunatic theory from social media that DeSantis is behind James O’Keefe being possibly removed from Project Veritas – really? If that’s what you are looking for, there are other places to get it. We’re going to do our best to keep a grip on reality – that people who care about this country can disagree in good faith on who the best Republican nominee will be, and who is most electable.

I want to thank you for your intervention here. As a Floridian and someone who has been involved in local politics in my county for years (Volusia) we are unfortunately witnessing vicious attacks by hard core or so called Trump supporters that it very could end up damaging both men politically and allow Democrats to cheat, I mean win again. I have reservations about both men and it is the sideshow that is getting the traction in the media as well as the whispers I hear in local GOP circles along with accusations placed on the web. I do confess that I support President Trump, but if my governor (who was also my Congressman) is the nominee for president, I am 100% onboard. My concern is that the “hard core” Trump faction will sit on their hands during election. day if Gov. DeSantis is the nominee because the “globalists” and Paul Ryan are the masters of him. We are truly at a crossroads here and I wholeheartedly agree with you that we need to “keep a grip on reality” and we must nominate the individual “who is most electable.”

That has always befuddled me that Republicans including Trump, viciously go after their own people in an effort to win. It has always been that after a person won the nomination, the others would all come together and support the winner. That was from an era where they debated different policies, not after trading vile insults. What I see people like gonzo do daily is take absurd conspiracy theories and treat DeSantis the same as the left did Trump yet they do not see the comparison.

Professor everything is a “conspiracy “ theory until it’s not in 6 weeks

DeSantis on Trump, just a 30 second video and he nails it:

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uqpMn6ZF_GQ&t=26s

Supporting someone else doesn’t mean you ‘hate’ him, or wouldn’t infinitely prefer him to the democrats.

Even Biden’s handlers are copying Trump (witness Biden’s State of Hate).

I still believe De Santis would be a tough candidate, but I’d like to see a Trump-DeSantis ticket, because we’d have the White House for 12 years.

Biden would easily win re-election if he was facing Trump.

Don’t kid yourself. He may not have even won the first time, and experience is a great teacher. The famous question posed by Reagan would suit Trump just fine.

We tried that in 2022 and it was a horrible result. We had the worst mid term results for the opposition relying on that strategy since 2002.

Let that sink in to have a worst performance it had to be at a point where large portions of the voting public wasn’t born yet.

          The public doesn’t like Trump.

They have made up their mind.

Not only are you going to have to convince them to change a commitment they already made (no more Trump) you will have to get them to consent to something that enrages them.

Did you enjoy being told you didn’t really vote for Trump Vladimir Putin made you do it?

That is how people who voted against Trump feel about being told their votes were fake.

It’s absolutely true that lots of shenanigans went on in both 2020 and ’22. In many States less so in ’22 due to efforts to eliminate opportunities for shenanigans by cleaning up the voter rolls, getting ID required and other ballot integrity, election security measures adopted in those States.

I continue to be puzzled why Trump, as the person who was most impacted by shenanigans, hasn’t used his prominent voice and considerable fortune to do a continuous campaign style series of rallies and fundraising to underwrite the efforts across every State.

He is literally the face of the ‘stolen’ election but has curiously been absent on the issue. Sure he talks about it but where is the intense fervor and the rallies like in his presidential campaign? One would think those most impacted by and most concerned with this issue would focus their attention and efforts on fixing the problems until the mission was completed.

The problem with DeSantis is that he won’t be worse than Trump. DeSantis has his own deep state.

Oh get over it. This is getting tiresome.

nordic prince in reply to 4rdm2. | February 10, 2023 at 2:44 pm

Almost as tiresome as the DeSantis brownnosing.

Ditto that a thousand times. If you are not an “always Trump” supporter here on this blog, who happens to support DeSantis or anyone other than Trump, then you are always, in their minds, a RINO, GOPe, neocon, globalist, deep state, FBI supporter, and on and on. Trump lost the popular vote to criminal Hillary Clinton, He lost the popular vote to dementia Joe Biden. He lost the U.S. Senate twice by his involvement in the Georgia Senate elections. Now Trump is saying that DeSantis is grooming high school girls for sex. When does it stop? Do you Trump supporters have no shame???

Dathurtz in reply to JR. | February 10, 2023 at 5:40 pm

        Irony. Wow.

A “shameful” comment, and you need not be a Trump supporter to say so..

Barry in reply to JR. | February 12, 2023 at 1:41 am

“Do you Trump supporters have no shame???”

No. Why should we. We support the only president since Ike that has worked effectively for the American people rather than Wall St.

Shameful is the type that is paid to get on a board like this and pretend to be something they are not.

        Sound familiar?

Please, either cite specifics or take this tired trope and ram it where the sun don’t shine.

    Evidence of DeSantis’ deep state?

Good luck waiting for it. They’ll trot out some conspiracy theories, but they never PROVE that DeSantis is deep state.

I’m still waiting for black face photos from his 7th birthday party, and an entry in a yearbook about burping loudly in church.

Milhouse in reply to Evil Otto. | February 12, 2023 at 12:38 am

Elected politicians, whether Republican or Democrat, conservative or communist, are by definition not the Deep State. Accusing an elected official of being part of the Deep State simply shows that one is using a term without understanding it.

Though it is certainly possible for a politician to be working together with the Deep State, or as a tool of the Deep State.

Barry in reply to Milhouse. | February 12, 2023 at 1:10 am

That’s not the dopiest thing you’ve ever said, but it’s up there. So now you get to determine the meaning of deep state and who is and isn’t?

Sure, pull the other one, Mitch.

The term “deep state” has a definition, and Milhouse is correct.

Nope, sorry, you’re both very wrong, unless you are Turks.

The term “Deep State” was originally conceived to describe the unelected bureaucracy running things behind the scenes in Turkey.

In this country we have a huge political class intertwined with the unelected. We have CIA agents leaving the CIA and running for office. We have other bureaucrats doing the same. If elections are rigged and corrupt, and they are, and the deep state is a part of the election rigging and corruption, and they are, then the very elected officials are all a part of the same corrupt cabal. Who do you think controls biden?

But then you can’t even acknowledge the truth. You will not even speak of it.

The 2020 election was stolen and when an election is stolen from a sitting president that is a coup.

This isn’t Turkey and not recognizing the truth is just another reason they win.

Legal “Insurrection”. Where is the insurrection? You should consider renaming this place.

“The Florida governor is a smart, motivated, very right-wing Catholic”
At least they can’t say just “Catholic” anymore. Because there have only been two Catholic presidents in history… and both of them were Democrats.

“Are people really so brainwashed as to believe this every 4 years?”
Democrat and Democrat-adjacent voters? Hell, yes. By definition.

DeSantis is a “very right-wing Catholic who wants to remake America as he imagines God wants it to be:”

Of course, Joe Biden is, as my priest says, “a deplorable Catholic”, who like Nancy Pelosi, abandoned any and all tenets of the Catholic faith, except socializing after mass.

I will put that referenced headline quote up against “what Soros wants” as the aim of the Democrats. Ask the family of any dead victim thanks to the Soros-financed DAs.

As to 2024,I do not care whom it is, so long as it is the candidate with the best chance of winning. The time for political purity is long past. A few years ago, when Merkel let millions of Muslims into Europe, I said that would be the end within 100 years, because of differential birth rates, if nothing else. I feel similarly about America, if we have 6 more years of open borders.

Close The Fed in reply to jb4. | February 11, 2023 at 11:49 am

I think we’re already past the point of no return. It’s very disturbing to watch Biden dissolve our country, and hardly a voice is raised opposing it.

Ellis Island was the weeding-out entry point for migrants for many reasons, including medical/health, criminal records, future prospects etc, but now we have none of that and we have no idea what or who is coming into our country. Imagine an Ivy League school that took in everybody that applied. Their reputation would vanish overnight. We are about to see the reputation of America plummet over the next 20 years with more money going towards crime prevention, welfare, healthcare, public school disintegration, coarsening of our society, and more bilingual requirements for our children just to get a job. Think of all the very talented people that applied years ago to migrate here that are still waiting to enter legally!

Mr. Nice Guy Republican nominee, i.e., Mitt Romney, was demonized by the media.
That is what the media does, that is what all nodding head Democrats believe, and to expect anything different is extremely naive.

For all those dumping on one guy or the other, what will you do if the other guy is the nominee?

Crawl over broken glass to vote for them, why? Although I’m not per we dumping on trump although the recent petty sniping from within the house is getting a bit annoying

That depends on whether you’re in a swing state or not. Those in swing states had better vote for the Republican, almost no matter what. Those with the luxury of knowing that it is literally impossible for their vote to affect the result can afford to show their disdain for an unworthy R nominee by voting for someone else.

I’m in NY; if NY is even close, it will mean the election is already over anyway and the winner will not need its electors. That’s why in 2016 I did not vote for Trump. In 2020 I did vote for him, not because I thought he needed my vote, but because he deserved it. If he’s the nominee in 2024 I don’t know what I will do.

Barry in reply to Milhouse. | February 12, 2023 at 1:37 am

Are you really going to claim you didn’t vote for Trump in 2016 because he didn’t need your NY vote?

Do you have a memory? Do you know what you said on these very pages?

Milhouse in reply to Barry. | February 12, 2023 at 10:57 am

In 2016 I had no reason to believe that Trump would not govern as the liberal Democrat and Clinton crony that he had always been. His claim to have suddenly embraced conservative principles were transparently false. I believed, with good reason, that he would be no better than Clinton, and possibly even worse. And I still believe that that was his plan, to the extent he actually had one. He turned out to have been the best president since Coolidge, but only because his former Democrat friends turned on him and drove him into conservative hands. We have Clinton to thank, more than Trump himself, for how good Trump was. Had they been smart and accepted his initial overtures his presidency would have been very different, and much worse.

Danny in reply to Barry. | February 12, 2023 at 11:23 am

I trust a substantiation of your claim that NY was in play in 2016 is coming shortly?

If Trump is the nominee I will vote for him.

If he is the nominee however anyone who helped get him through the primary is fully responsible for the second Biden administration.

“…not only is she a left-wing lesbian who has an unsurprising bone to pick …”

No you didn’t.

So Tannehill is a “left wing lesbian”? I don’t care if she’s a lesbian – that’s her business. I don’t care if she is left-wing – that, too, is her business. I DO care that she seems reluctant to keep it to herself. The woman needs to keep her business hers and not make it mine.

As a recovering Baptist who has recently returned to Presbyterianism, I find nothing wrong with DeSantis’ Catholicism. Again, his business.
.

Another RNC commissioned piece by LI. The main people pushing this narrative are the “Big Club” Republicans and their dirty neocon globalist money. DeSantis is their second try with the Jeb!!! strategy. It’s all they have left and other than in these RNC echo chambers, it’s not working and it won’t.

What you really to be thinking about the sudden recent assaults on the most effective alt-media players like James O’Keefe, Tim Poole, Steven Crowder, Michelle Malkin, and others. The true conservative fighters are being chased out of the remains of the dying MSM even online and regrouping on safer, non-corporate platforms. Even in Britain, Mark Stein and Katie Holmes have quit GBN over demands to bring their opinions in line with the government narrative. It’s time to fish or cut bait. Is you is or is you isn’t?

There is a reason why the “Big Club” is so insanely intent on destroying Trump and if we have to restate why, you are already lost. They aren’t afraid of DeSantis. They are afraid of Trump and us MAGA voters which include a growing number of Democrats and independents. We keep growing stronger, maybe beyond the reach of rigged elections.

Your addiction to the morphine that comes from the false comfort of living in echo chambers is leading you far astray. You are about to find yourselves behind enemy lines but you won’t understand why. You are down to resorting to name calling and mouthing liberal Uniparty lies. The truth is staring you right in the face. Wake up. It’s probably too late already. At least get on the right side of the battle lines.

    Katie Hopkins, not Holmes.

“Your addiction to the morphine that comes from the false comfort of living in echo chambers is leading you far astray.”
Do you not have eyes and ears? Have you not seen and heard DeSantis say and do things that no other governor has done? Echo chambers? You can see him LIVE on TV where he takes on people like you and politely destroys them with facts and logic. The great thing about DeSantis is that he does almost everything openly for all to see and doesn’t need echo chambers.

The right side of the battle lines is someone who fights effectively, identifies the actual battlefield correctly and works hard on it and could actually win.

    That is DeSantis

“…a piece written by self-described senior defense analyst and former naval aviator Brynn Tannehill…”

Disappointing to see this slanderous and frankly infantile attack on DeSantis coming from a former naval aviator. One would expect such people to be relatively smart. But, the vile Dumb-o-crats’ moral and cultural rot has permeated all American institutions, now.

Club for Growth Invites Ron DeSantis to Join Wall Street Controlled Republican Candidates Haley, Pompeo, Pence, Youngkin and Scott for 2024 Planning Session at Donor Retreat

February 10, 2023 | Sundance | 293 Comments
Everything is always a conspiracy theory, until it’s not.

WASHINGTON DC – […] On Monday, David McIntosh, the president of the conservative Club for Growth, told reporters that the group had invited DeSantis to its annual donor retreat and was hoping to feature him as a keynote speaker.

DeSantis wasn’t the only 2024 prospect to land an invite to the gathering. The Club also extended invitations to former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley, former Vice President Mike Pence, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R) and Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.). Trump was notably left off that list.

But for the time being, DeSantis is best positioned to break through in the primary, McIntosh said, adding that while Trump has universal name ID among voters, the Florida governor “still has room to grow.”

“What the club believes the Republican Party should do is make sure whoever we nominate will actually win,” McIntosh said. “The party should be open to looking at a different candidate. DeSantis is in the strongest position.

    4rdm2 in reply to gonzotx. | February 11, 2023 at 6:24 pm

.. so the fact that they extended an invitation makes him a puppet? You realize how silly that sounds?

Danny in reply to gonzotx. | February 12, 2023 at 11:32 am

Youngkin and DeSantis are assets to the Republican Party why should they not be in contact with the Republican Party’s donors? Who better to encourage further donations?

By the way Trump had plenty of billionaire support in both 2016 and 2020.

This borderline Bolshevism of if it is rich it is evil needs to die and die horribly. Democrats are largely stamping that out and it is not something we should adopt.

We are NOT a Bolshevik party, what makes an elite good or bad is what he/she does with money, power and influence not that he has money and influence or power. Why should people who risk everything providing services people want like Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos not get rich by doing it? Are you anti-capitalist now comrade?

You know who is scarred by Bolshevik rhetoric? Ordinary Americans that’s who.

If a billionaire like Ken Griffin who is on a crusade against woke and is funding people he thinks will further that crusade is a villain to you because he is a billionaire yes you are crossing a terrible threshold.

Is this the same Club for Growth that supported Trump in 2020? After also doing so once he became the GOP nominee in ’16? The one that he is furious with for excluding him this year? THAT Club for Growth?
