San Francisco Reparations Panel Now Recommending $5 Million for Each Black Resident

San Francisco Reparations Panel Now Recommending $5 Million for Each Black Resident

“The committee also proposed wiping out all debts associated with educational, personal, credit card and payday loans for black households.”

A panel in San Francisco looking into reparations is now recommending a one-time payment of $5 million to black city residents who are deemed eligible.

We have been following this story, and the numbers keep going up rapidly.

Several weeks ago, in early December, the number was around $200,000 per resident.

Two weeks ago, the number jumped to $1 million each.

Now it’s $5 million.

The New York Post reports:

San Francisco reparations panel pitches $5M — each — to black residents

A San Francisco panel studying reparations has proposed a one-time payment of $5 million to each black resident of the city deemed eligible as recompense for the “decades of harm they have experienced,” according to a report on Monday.

“A lump sum payment would compensate the affected population … and will redress the economic and opportunity losses that Black San Franciscans have endured, collectively, as the result of both intentional decisions and unintended harms perpetuated by City policy,” the San Francisco African American Reparations Advisory Committee said in a draft report issued last month, Fox News Digital reported.

The proposal could cost the city, which has a 2022-2023 budget of $14 billion, roughly $50 billion, the Daily Mail reported.

The committee also proposed wiping out all debts associated with educational, personal, credit card and payday loans for black households.

You may think this makes no sense because California wasn’t a slave state. This is the response:

It added that members of the black community demand reparations “not to remedy enslavement” but to “address the public policies explicitly created to subjugate Black people in San Francisco by upholding and expanding the intent and legacy of chattel slavery.”

The report notes that while neither California nor San Francisco “formally adopted the institution of chattel slavery,” other aspects of segregation like white supremacy and “systematic repression” found in the legal system, “social codes” and “extralegal actions” were designed to exclude blacks.

Victor Davis Hanson recently spoke to Tucker Carlson about this issue and noted that California is too broke to do this:

As noted above, this plan would cost more than twice San Francisco’s annual budget.

Hold your pinkie up to your mouth and say it with me.
One Billion Dollarsss!!!!!

Five million plus everything you can take from high end retail stores.

Pay it off in lottery tickets.

You have to have been black for at least ten years, to prevent imposters from sneaking in.

If they had screwed up even more and only used the term African American, I would have strongly urged my lily white niece to move to Shaky Town. She was born in Tanzania and moved to the USA when she was about 5.

Her Polish father grew up in Tanzania. And he speaks very fluent Swahili. Freaks Africans out when he whips out the ole Swahili on them. Great fun.

Is that from the date you identified, or from the date you had the “bottom work” done?

Over the decades, I’ve seen a lot of burn, loot, murder riots in major cities across the USA which have leveled inner cities, left hundreds dead, and billions upon billions in property damage. My earliest memory of such carnage is the 1967 Detroit riot. The most recent being the 2020 burn, loot, murder riots. That said, I think Negroes owe the rest of the nation reparations, not vice versa.

Can’t we all just get along, Rodney King?

$5 million is too low … have you seen the price of eggs lately?

OMG

That’s all I can say

Reoperations for what, exactly?

As far as I know there is no living person in the US that has been subjected to slavery. Their fantasies of oppression do not qualify.

Anyone who was lucky enough to be born in this is privileged by that one simple fact, period.

These morons who piss and moan about reoperations, need to be taken and dropped off in the rural areas of Africa, Central America, and South America and let them experience real hardship.

If you want equity, you will have to give reparations to everyone so that everyone ends up with 5 million. Those who have more than 5 million will have to give to the have nots.

It goes without saying, all finances will have to be redistributed at the end of each month.

Of course, to have true equity, life expectancies will have to be re-adjusted as well.

“Reparations” must be the greatest hustle of all time. Madoff and Ponzi can’t even compare.

$50B seems too low. Google say that there are 45,000 African-Americans in SF. It would be racist to exclude a single one. That would be $225B.

When not a single dollar gets paid, this looks like another “victimhood” power play stunt. “Whitey” has screwed you again by not paying you what you deserve. You need to vote for us to keep pushing for you.

Well, I for one, celebrate San Francisco’s decision!

I’m going to self-identify as a black person whose ancestors were slaves, and who once lived in the Bay Area, and declare myself entitled to my share!

Thank you, San Francisco!

    Great idea there, Brian.

Howzabout I move to SF now and *identify* as a black person who has lived there for more than 14 years. Objective reality is merely a manifestation of the white patriarchy anyway.

It is long past time for all sane people to get the blazes out of SF and out of CA in general. Leave it to the crazies/deviants/disciples of Dr Josef Mengele. And when G-D finally sends “the big one” to sink CA into the ocean where it belongs, you won’t be there; He created the San Andreas fault for a reason.

Easy solution.
Give every black person their own asteroid, rich in rare earths. But they have to mine it themselves… and if they ever leave it, they lose it.
Getting them out there is no big trick — there are enough unicorns for everyone to ride.

a one-time payment of $5 million to black city residents

So, I guess brown residents would get about $2 million and yellow residents would receive something like $500,000.

Awesome!

I think you’re on to something here. If you really want to be honest about racism, you have to acknowledge that black people can be some of the most virulent racists out there. They’re sometimes anti-white, but they also discriminate against their own based on shade of darkness.

So yeah, there might need to be some sliding scale based on skin tone. Albinos get zilch. Gingers get $2.50, and on up.

Where are they going to get the money? Print it?
Only the Federal Government can do that.

Most recent census data says that San Francisco has about 815,000 residents, of whom about 5.2% are black. At $5 million each, that’s just under $212 billion. If each non-black resident of the city were required to pay the tab, that would be a tax of about $275,000. Each.

I’d very much like to see that math put forward in the major San Francisco newspapers.

I saw a break down of this elsewhere. The cost could be far higher than even $200,000,000. It seems the bill doesn’t breakdown how long a person lived in SF or even if they are still there. If someone had lived in SF until 10yrs old and then moved to Buffalo it appears they are still in line for some money. A black family of 4 are now worth $20,000,000? How many homeless are going to flock to SF? If this bill passes and I were black I’d immediately move there and stake my claim then get the heck back out.

The Gentle Grizzly | January 17, 2023 at 7:58 pm

If they hand out $5 million each to the blacks, they will find something to riot about.

Meanwhile… how many San Francisco office space, storefront, and apartment leases were NOT renewed by the tenants lately?

On behalf of Johm ‘Gigilo” Kerry: I pledge 10,000,000,000.

So these folk want taxpayers to give each Black resident who’s never been a slave, may not have any ancestors who were slaves, and who may be multi-millionaires, cash akin to 6.25 average Californian homes? Isn’t that simple unlawful racism?

They say a fool and his money are soon parted. In California’s case however the state seems to want to be parted from the taxpayer’s money. Worse, it’ll make real estate completely unaffordable for anyone that isn’t a millionaire – which will include every Black resident. They probably still won’t have enough to buy into walled Democrat enclaves though, not unless they all go in together – the thought of Pelosi waking up to discover the new folk next door are a … group from the ghetto at least is cause for amusement.

They are going to keep upping the ante here, eventually someone is going to have to say “no”. Look out when that happens, we will have a race war on our hands. It’s not going to stay in SF, or even within California, and I doubt it will stay in big cities either this time. In comparison, 2020’s rioting will actually seem like “mostly peaceful protests.”

There’s likely to be some disappointment when $5M each is not in fact handed out. The City of SF and State of CA gov’ts are creating expectations that will not be met with all these commissions. People are getting a very false sense that these are done deals. When this doesn’t occur there will be sincere unhappiness that will definitely manifest in unproductive activities.

This is just like Biden’s promise to evaporate $10K of college debts. It’s a hollow promise he made to get votes. He knows it’s illegal and will never happen.

If SF were to try to give a big payout to blacks, they would be hit with multiple racial discrimination lawsuits that would go to SCOTUS, where they would get laughed out of court. But in the meantime, they get votes.

Sounds like they dindu no maff.

This is all just negotiation.
They’ll settle for 40 quid and a nude lady.
And we’ll throw in some dirty books.

Here is a copy of their draft proposal. If you want a good laugh, read the list of demands and the rationale they give for their demand. This goes far above the $5million lump sum cash payment, starts on pg 32. Tax credits, and supplemental income handed to them for at least the next 250 years, if they make less than $97,000. They also want the city and county to issue a formal apology for past harms, etc. pg 31. They want special home ownership privileges to be handed to Section 8 voucher holders. pg 37.

Get your popcorn ready.

Calculate the cost of welfare since 1964 and send them a bill instead.

I think we all know the strategy here…similar to a 5 yr old attempting to bargain.

When asking for a dollar is outrageous, there’s no downside to asking for 5 million.

The point of this is to make the 200k look palatable.

Let them pound rocks and look in the mirror at single parent families black on black crime the emphasis on either athletics misogyny ridden rap music and a disdain for normal education as the reasons for failing to escape the ghettos

You all are missing addressing another level of stupidity in this proposal – besides the whole fact that robbing Peter to pay Paul based on color of skin IS racism and there’s no money to do it anyway.

It’s a good bet at least half of the folks in that photo standing up and cheering because “The Man” is going to make them millionaires….

If they every got that windfall…..
Will be broke again in a few years.

If you don’t believe me read about how many lottery winners end up broker than from before they won. Or…. There’s a guy living one county north of me who won a multi-million dollar settlement because of police misconduct – he was a known drug dealer and they tried to beat a confession out of him for something he actually didn’t do. He built a mansion. Not quite Beverly Hillbillies class, but close. Steel gate with initials built in, huge front lawn, lakefront property, the works. Used to drive by it every day when visiting my sis up that way. Only a few years in he had to put it up for sale.
Broke.

Not every poor person is poor because of poor personal choices, but quite a few are. Handing them money will make them not poor – until it runs out. Statistically, not being a single mom kid and a bunch of other family life factors are far more significant indicators of if you’re likely to grow up in poverty than skin color. Not trying to “poor shame” here folks, but the days when it was legal to pay or hire workers based on skin color are not today. Equal Opportunity for the win.

A guy at our church (a bunch of years ago) was part of a company that bought up lottery proceeds and other windfalls. They would pay, say, 20¢ cash per dollar of the remaining annuity. They made great money, and all those people who got in WAY over their heads could get back out of the debt they’d piled on after receiving the windfalls.

You know it’s common when there are businesses that exist because of it.

    Capitalist-Dad in reply to BobM. | January 18, 2023 at 9:30 am

I knew a real estate entrepreneur (who dealt exclusively in rehabbing in poor—mostly black neighborhoods) who took advantage of exactly the psychology you describe. He would give $5,000 cash back at closing, knowing that this would prime a spending pump that wouldn’t stop at $5,000. When the customer defaulted, the rehabber would repossess the house, fix it up, and run the game again. This went on for years, until he discovered appliance loans were far more lucrative than real estate.

Yeah, too many poor people don’t realize the rip-offs that are payday / tax refund loan stores and rent-to-own stores. If every other paycheck you have to take out a loan to pay your rent on time you’re doing something wrong – best to avoid paying that loan fee & interest and keep your whole paychecks. And if you can live without the big screen tv, stereo system, and matching furniture until you can pay cash you’ll pay 1/4th of the pay-to-own cost.

Leaving the army for civilian life I moved into a nice new apartment with a futon mattress, a folding chair and table, and a footlocker to put my old crt tube TV on. Waiting to pay cash for stuff saved a bundle and at the end I had a fully furnished place. Including an extra long sofa I bought at the local rent-to-own warehouse where they resold the stuff they yoinked back from late payers. It would have cost $4000 to RTO that sofa over 5 years, the listed retail was $1000, I got it used for $400.

Seriously, lots of folks make a nice living off poor foo’s poor choices.
Don’t let them rip you off.

“Build a fire for a man and he will be warm for a day.
Sat a man on fire, and he will be warm for the rest of his life.”

It’s simply AMAZING; the GOOD you can do with OTHER PEOPLE’S MONEY. The simple solution is to, of course, just contact The Fed and have them run off a batch of bucks ($220,000,000,000 or so) and just pass this out to the estimated 44,000 ‘African Americans’ who, by some calculus, qualify for this. That way, no one has to have their wealth confiscated directly; they just spread the suffering across the entire population of those who happen to base their economic existence on the U.S. Dollar. Technology and Higher Education are the most amazing things, especially when under the control of such Righteous individuals as this esteemed panel.

It truly pays to be America’s Bane.

Sounds to me like I need to move to California, something I said I’d never do.
But I can sure identify with black. People in my family definitely identify as black….

It’s time to negotiate. My counter proposal; a pack of Kools and a six pack of Colt 45 Malt Liquor.

The Bride gave me two books for Christmas:

“Chappie” by J. Alfred Phelps, a biography of General Chappie James (poorly written but informative and inspiring)

“American,” an autobiography of Lt General Benjamin O. Davis, Jr (well written and also informative and inspiring)

Both books describe in distressing detail and authentic language the racist policies of the Army Air Corps/Army Air Forces and the American population in general that tried to beat these men down and prevent them from working to reach the lofty goal of wearing stars on their shoulders. As a son of the Old South, I remember some of the things they describe. If you want to be inspired, I suggest finding these books and reading how perseverance and discipline can be their own reward.

Since so many of those who need to see what they *could* do suffer from a dearth of both perseverance and discipline, as well as an ability to read past third grade level, the ones who need to see what these men did for themselves are unlikely to benefit.
.

Well, this should significantly reduce abortion.

My great-great-grandfather served in the Union Army in California. Don’t I deserve reparations too?

Well I know what city the mugging rate is about to skyrocket.

Cheapskates!

It should be $5 million — annually.

I identify as an eligible Californian black. When should I expect my check?

I’d love to see them try to give $5mil to each black person in the city. They’d have to raise city bond debt to try to finance their plan and who’s dumb enough to buy that debt, knowing that they will never get paid for it ?

I’m really surprised at all of the joking and rude disingenuous comments posted her. This money could help push our people back to prosperity. If you disagree, please post your comments on my website, racheldolezal.comm. Thank you.

Govt whatever panel finds that “Something must be done.” about whatever they were put on “And we’re just the guys to do it.”

This is my shocked face.

Where can I go to get paid to gin u reports that say I should keep getting paid to gin up reports? Nice work if you can stomach it.
