‘Horrified’: Left Freaks Out After Reps. Greene and Gosar Receive Committee Assignments

The GOP Steering Committee voted to give both Greene and Gosar spots on the Oversight while Gosar will also be on Natural Resources, and Greene will be on Homeland Security.

Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) and Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.) were assigned to committees, and the left is losing their minds.

Both were removed from committees in the 117th congress by the Democratic majority.

McCarthy vowed to place her back on her committees.

It’s looking like Rep. Greene, and Rep. Gosar will get multiple committees:

The GOP Steering Committee, which doles out committee gavels and seats, voted to give both Greene and Gosar spots on the Oversight and Accountability Committee, which is planning to launch numerous investigations into President Joe Biden and his administration.

Gosar also secured a second assignment on the Natural Resources Committee. Democrats had booted him off both of those panels in the last Congress.

Greene also won a seat on the Homeland Security Committee, which Republicans will use to focus on border security and investigate Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

It sounds like Democrats will soon know what it feels like to be removed from committees. Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy doesn’t want Rep. Eric Swalwell on any House committees, especially the Intelligence Committee.

Time will tell but, so far, Iike the cut of McCarthy’s jib. It appears having to go 15 rounds before being elected Speaker helped Mac grow a spine.

It’s a mere simulacrum for the cameras. It won’t last.

Give McCarthy time: he’ll have another nervous breakdown, like he did on January 6.

Meantime, I trust in the likes of MTG and Boebert and Gaetz, who have shown their mettle.

      Blackgriffin in reply to TheFineReport.com. | January 18, 2023 at 2:33 pm

So far, agree about Boebert and Gaetz, but after watching Greene turn on them both over the “insurrection” at the voting for Speaker, I’m done with her. She was sucking up so hard to McCarthy, it’s a wonder her cheeks aren’t permanently caved in. And she screeched at everyone fighting against McCarthy. She should have stood with the patriots who forced him to make concessions. She did not. She whined about not getting any committee positions and it being all their fault.

FU, Marxists. I elected Gosar, elections have consequences, and now I demand equal representation.

Natural Resources is a good match, by the way — he seems to have a natural bent for it.

As for Oversight and Accountability, I predict you have never seen a pitbull like Gosar will turn out to be.

Maybe we Republicans should be freaking out over Republicans like this…

So sick of these people

When the Communists freak out and the obviously hate something so much, that’s when you know you’re doing the right thing.

    3manped in reply to Ironclaw. | January 17, 2023 at 10:36 pm

Thankfully when Democrat heads explode, there’s no messy brain matter to clean up.

GravityOpera in reply to Ironclaw. | January 17, 2023 at 11:26 pm

No, it’s not. That tactic is easily used by said Communists to advance their goals and turn the right against good policy and towards infighting. How do you think we ended up with Trump and the current anti-Ukraine sentiments? With Trump they practically ignored everyone else while reeee-ing about him and so, so many fools “thought” that anyone who made the left reeee was good. With Ukraine Biden is constantly restricting aid or providing aid that is too little too late (they still don’t have Patriots — a purely defensive system — for example) and so, so many fools, instead of being mad at Biden’s lack of support, “think” that we shouldn’t provide any aid and should bend the knee to Russian nuclear blackmail instead.

Good. They’re both idiots, especially Greene, but if that were a reason to keep someone off a committee there’d be a lot of Democrats with a lot more spare time on their hands. They are duly elected representatives and they deserve the same opportunity to serve on committees as any other rep gets. Nothing they have said has been anywhere near as outrageous as the things that the Squad members say routinely, and that many Democrats have got away with saying for decades.

The Dems’ move in the last congress was disgraceful and should be repaid several-fold. Certainly Omar, Tlaib, Bush, and Swalwell should not get any committee assignments. Probably Waters too. And that would be a good start. They should be offered their seats back, conditional on a public and personal apology to Greene and Gosar from the Democrat caucus, and personally from those members and from Pelosi.

henrybowman in reply to Milhouse. | January 17, 2023 at 7:59 pm

You wish you had a rep like Gosar.

Gosar got pulled from his committees due to feigned “gotcha” outrage over a video some staffer put together, which consisted of the intro to some anime superhero cartoon with Gosar’s face pasted over the hero’s, and AOC’s face pasted over the villain’s.

“Insurrection! Incitement to violence against political figures!
    We’re melllll-ting! MELLLLLL-TINNNNNG…!!”

Some idiots. Both built sucessful businesses and got themselves elected to Congresa without Soros funding.

    What’s your CV?

Greene is definitely an idiot. There is no other explanation for the stupid things she consistently says and does. Like that space-laser tweet, that the Dems blew up into some kind of antisemitic thing; it wasn’t antisemitic, not even a little bit, but it was bloody stupid. There is simply no way to make any sense of it that isn’t antisemitic. That’s why they read an antisemitic explanation into it; they were doing her the “courtesy” of assuming she couldn’t really be that dumb. But she is.

Or take her appearing at Fuentes’s event without checking him out first, and then even after she found out who he is, refusing to apologize. Speaking there doesn’t make her like him, but it does make her stupid, because a smart person would never have gone there, or would have apologized and never gone again. Or at least said something like “I went to explain to them why they’re wrong”.

As for her alleged business expertise, I don’t believe it. You’re relying on nothing but her word, or that of her PR flack. And that’s really stupid.

You live in a glass house: don’t throw stones:

“… In 2002 Marjorie and her husband Perry purchased Taylor Commercial, a commercial construction and renovation company. The company has since managed a quarter of a billion dollars of construction projects. Marjorie successfully started, grew, and sold a thriving CrossFit gym here in Georgia which has become one of the top CrossFit gyms in the country….”

        https://www.gop.gov/member/marjorie-taylor-greene/

She’s so stupid, that she’s turned herself from a freshman Congresswoman to one of the most famous and powerful Congresswomen in Congress in an amazingly short time.

How effective is she? – She’s so effective, the leftist hacks at Wikpedia devoted an entire web page trying to trash her:

        https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marjorie_Taylor_Greene

She’s going to be a powerhouse for years to come.

And once again you are quoting HER PR FLACK. What kind of idiot do you have to be to just take her word for it?

From the WP page you linked to:

Greene was listed as the chief financial officer of Taylor Commercial from 2007 to 2011,[1] but a 2021 Atlanta Journal-Constitution investigation determined that she had no significant presence at the company.[37] In 2011, Greene stepped down as the company’s CFO and began CrossFit training.[37]

By 2012, Greene was working as a part-time coach at an Alpharetta CrossFit gym.[1] In August 2013, she co-founded a CrossFit gym, CrossFit Passion, in Alpharetta, along with Travis Mayer, a CrossFit athlete, before leaving the business in early 2017.[38] In a 2015 interview, Greene said that when she and Mayer founded the gym, they knew little about how to run a business.[37]

Do you dispute any of these facts?!

mailman in reply to Milhouse. | January 18, 2023 at 3:56 am

And here she is on a committee with influence. Who’s winning here precious?

Milhouse in reply to mailman. | January 18, 2023 at 8:02 pm

She’s on a committee just like Sheila Jackson Lee, or Hank “Guam Guy” Johnson. How does that show she isn’t an idiot?

I see no way that anyone in public office should hold their tongue because of subsequent opposition statements. We, let alone politicians, have a duty to speak our piece. Some of what we say will not make sense especially to those who speak with more volume than thought but so be it.

Milhouse in reply to kjon. | January 18, 2023 at 12:32 pm

Nonresponsive. What have “subsequent opposition statements” got to do with it?

How do you justify that space laser tweet as not being dumb as a rock, without calling it antisemitic? It has to be one or the other. And it’s pretty clear which one it was: it was dumb, but not antisemitic. One has to be a real idiot to retweet something like that without antisemitic intent, but Greene is that idiot.

And how is it not a completely dumb move to appear at Fuentes’s event, and then not even apologize?

henrybowman in reply to Milhouse. | January 18, 2023 at 12:57 pm

“There is no other explanation for the stupid things she consistently says and does.”

“There are very fine people on both sides.”
“We should inject people with bleach to cure COVID.”
“We have to separate the kids from their parents…”

What’s the explanation for all those stupid things Trump said?
The Left deliberately lied their asses off about them.
        That’s what the explanation is.
You’re taking the word of DEMOCRAT PR flacks. What’s stupider?

Milhouse in reply to henrybowman. | January 18, 2023 at 3:33 pm

No, Henry, I am not taking the word of Democrat flacks. Why would you even think I would do that?

When Democrats claim that Greene said something about “Jewish space lasers”, they lie. She never said, wrote, or in any other way expressed those words. But her tweet speaks for itself. It is not her own words; it’s a retweet, which means she’s not responsible for every word in it, but by retweeting it she did endorse its general idea. And that tweet is objectively so stupid that the only way to explain it without calling her an idiot is to call her an antisemite instead. I don’t know about you, but I think I’m doing her a favor in insisting that the tweet means just what it says, or at least that Greene understood it to mean just what it says, and that she is indeed so dumb that she could actually give it credence without any sinister agenda.

As for her Fuentes appearance, that isn’t even a fake quote. It’s something that actually happened. You surely won’t deny that. And I’m not getting it from Dem sources, because I never trust what they say. Again I’m putting the most charitable interpretation possible on it. I’m taking it at face value, rather than pretending to read her mind and imputing sinister motives to her. The most parsimonious explanation is that yes, she really is that dumb, and is not some evil person merely playing dumb.

jagibbons in reply to Milhouse. | January 18, 2023 at 8:20 am

I would add Sheila Jackson Lee to the list of idiots who should not have committee assignments in this congress.

Milhouse in reply to jagibbons. | January 18, 2023 at 12:33 pm

True. Especially since she’s thrust herself into the news this week. She’d have done better to lie low and let people forget she exists.

“As the former Vice Chair of the House Homeland Security Committee… ”

Says a man who has yet to realize just how inconsequential and irrelevant he became the moment the new Congress sat.

No, Ritchie Torres, the Homeland Security committee does not exist to fight “extremism”. It exists to protect our homeland. To paraphrase Goldwater, extremism in promoting that goal is not something to be fought.

What did the Democrats expect to happen?

henrybowman in reply to oldschooltwentysix. | January 17, 2023 at 8:01 pm

They’re just putting on a show of victimhood for their Karen mommies in the MSM, who will proceed to scold us all for several months for hurting their babies’ feewings.

CommoChief in reply to henrybowman. | January 17, 2023 at 8:26 pm

We should keep in mind that the cohorts of d/prog first elected in 2018 and 2020 have never been in the minority. Being in the majority the 1st two terms and now relegated to the minority is gonna hurt. Less power, less influence, less committee staff, maybe had to shift to a less convenient office space.

Being in the minority sucks in comparison to being in the majority in every way. It pays to be a winner!

Ah, the sweet sound of demented Leftists shrieking their outrage. It is music to my ears.

The left freaks out about everything.

This outrage is just a trial run. If it plays well, it will go into the next fund raising pitch. That’s the only thing this is about.

Otto Kringelein in reply to irv. | January 18, 2023 at 8:59 am

I would think it has already gone into the next fundraising email. The democrats never miss an opportunity. And this one is ready made for them.

If I’m not wrong, I believe I recall a very forward thinking POTUS once telling Republicans, “elections have consequences”. Guess folks have forgotten that.

What goes around comes around in politics-Let the woke left pound salt

MTG is apparently the litmus test for whether you’re an “extremist”.
In the month before the recent mid-terms, I got some push-poll calls, I believe by Republican Tom Kean, who though a typical Northeast Republican Liberal I am happy to say was elected over typical Far Left Democrat Tom Malinowski, which asked “do you have a favorable opinion of Marjorie Taylor Green”, to which I answered “yes”.
No FBI at my doorstep…yet.

Will the Ds repay their debt of Congressmen barred from committees?

If I recall there were some bold promises when Nancy excluded some Rs last term. It would be just like the Rs to let them move on with no consequences.

What is the old McDonalds jingle, “I’m Lovin’ It!”?
Well. I am Really loving the fact that the DemocRats now knows how it feels to get screwed with no foreplay and not even a kiss!!
What goes around comes around, and the Republicans have not been playing the same game that the Democrats wrote the book on, HARDBALL!!
Now it is time for McCarthy and company to pull out all the stops and play for keeps.
If they don’t this may be the last Republican Congress before our nation become the USSA!

henrybowman in reply to Nicki Cribb. | January 18, 2023 at 7:31 pm

“DemocRats now knows how it feels to get screwed with no foreplay and not even a kiss!!”
Some Lava Soap Lube would make it even better.

MTG is just flat out hard working. I was surprised. That is why she has won the support of her district. And mine.
