The female half of the Molotov Cocktail lawyer duo was just sentenced and received a measly fifteen months in jail. Why did they even bother? They may as well given her time served.
That would be time served at home, by the way. She has been under house arrest while awaiting sentencing.

Left-Wing Lawyer Who Firebombed Police Car Dodges Five-Year Sentence, Will Spend Just 15 Months in Prison
Urooj Rahman, a public interest lawyer who firebombed a police cruiser during the 2020 George Floyd riots, was sentenced to just 15 months in prison on Friday after the Biden Justice Department intervened on her behalf, pressing the court to issue a sentence below the guidelines that called for 10 years.
U.S. District Judge Brian Cogan of the Eastern District of New York handed down the sentence to a packed courtroom in Brooklyn, where Rahman’s allies gathered in solidarity. Rahman, who faced up to five years in prison, told supporters the sentence “wasn’t the result we wanted.” Her attorney, Peter Baldwin, said Rahman’s defense team was “obviously disappointed with the result, but we are excited that Urooj can move on to the next phase of her life.”
Rahman and her accomplice, Colinford Mattis, leveraged their connections to top universities, white-shoe law firms, and the Obama administration, to win sympathy from liberal elites. They were the subjects of glowing profiles in national media during their prosecution, and struck a sweetheart deal with the Biden Justice Department, which, in a rare move, intervened to ask the court to go easy on them after the Trump administration had pressed for an aggressive prosecution.
The Justice Department declined to comment.

A Donald Trump fan who was convicted on all counts after telling jurors that he thought he was “following presidential orders” when he stole a liquor bottle and a coat rack from the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6 was sentenced to three years in federal prison on Friday.
Dustin Thompson, a college-educated Ohio man who testified that he believed Trump’s lies about the 2020 election, was convicted on six charges in April after he told jurors he was seeking Trump’s “respect” and “approval” on Jan. 6. His prior attorney argued that Trump “authorized” the attack on the Capitol, and took advantage of “vulnerable” people like his client.
“You didn’t love America that day,” Senior U.S. District Judge Reggie B. Walton told Thompson while sentencing him on Friday. Walton said he didn’t understand how “people can be gullible enough to accept a lie and act on that lie.”
Thompson was sentenced to 36 months in federal prison, and will get credit for the roughly seven months he’s served since he was convicted, meaning he’s still got more than two years to spend behind bars.
Firebomb a cop car, fifteen months.

It really depends upon where one chooses to reside. If you choose to remain in a blue State you are sending them your tax dollars to support their agenda. You are upping their population count and assisting their political power at reappointment time for Congressional Districts.
If you must stay in a particular State because reasons then consider moving to a red area to add your vote in keeping that County and CD red. Maybe move to a closely divided purple CD to assist in taking it from the d/prog.
IMO the better course is to abandon that blue State. Move to a red or swing State and bring your tax dollars and electoral college impact with you.

WTH?!? It took the seven months to sentence Dustin Thompson from the time he was convicted in a court of law? Seven months!?! What in the world has happened to the legal system where they can hold you for seven months in prison before issuing a sentence. That’s just ridiculous.
Rahman entered a plea deal. She pleaded guilty and expressed remorse.
Thompson pleaded not guilty and tried to blame someone else (Trump) for his own actions.
I’m surprised she got any time at all, given the current climate; and that the State Bar disbarred her. And her attorney’s excited that she can move on to the next phase of her life–what would that be? Building Molotov cocktails for others to throw?

It’s not like she did anything that put people in danger — like walking thru an unlocked door into a public area of the capitol building.
Meanwhile, over 600 people have spent more than 2 YEARS in prison for merely protesting at the Capital on 1/6 – with no conviction. Most prisoners never entered the building or assaulted anyone.
The worst offense anyone has plead to – of the few cases resolved – has been “parading in the Capital”.

That is incorrect. Of the approximately thousand people charged, hundreds have already been sentenced, and the majority of the rest have been granted pretrial release under the Bail Reform Act (which presupposes pretrial release unless the government shows to the court probably cause that the person is a flight risk, will tamper with the judicial process (such as destroying evidence), or is a continuing threat to society).

That is also incorrect. For instance, Howard Richardson pleaded guilty to assaulting a police officer with a flag pole hard enough to break the pole. He was sentenced to 46 months.
