Elon Musk Says He Would Support Ron DeSantis for President in 2024

“My preference for the 2024 presidency is someone sensible and centrist. I had hoped that would the case for the Biden administration, but have been disappointed so far”

Elon Musk is not a conservative, but apparently he will back Ron DeSantis if he runs for president. Musk confirmed this in an exchange with another Twitter user this weekend.

The Hill reports:

Musk says he would support DeSantis in 2024

Elon Musk said he would support Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) if he runs for president in 2024.

In a tweet responding to a user question on Friday, Musk said that he would support DeSantis. The latest post follows a tweet in June in which the billionaire said he was leaning toward supporting the governor in the next presidential election.

“My preference for the 2024 presidency is someone sensible and centrist. I had hoped that would the case for the Biden administration, but have been disappointed so far,” he said.

Musk added that he was a “significant supporter” of the Obama administration and “reluctantly” voted for President Biden over former President Trump in the 2020 presidential election.

Musk made the comments about the potential 2024 contender in a series of posts responding to an article from a conservative news outlet about the Twitter and SpaceX CEO restoring Trump’s account…

The news from Musk comes as DeSantis has seen increased support in hypothetical match-ups for the GOP nomination in 2024 following a disappointing performance from the party in the midterm elections.

See the exchange below:

The left has been increasingly going after Musk for two reasons. They don’t like that he is trying to make Twitter an even playing field, and they hate the fact that he doesn’t hate Republicans.

If DeSantis runs, this will certainly make the 2024 Republican primary more interesting.

Here we go into the age of buying the residency of the Presidency. By buying Biden, Musk ensure that when we say bye-bye to Biden the worst will waltz in unnoticed.

Agreed. Beware of Satan dressed as a Saint

‘Put not your trust in earthly Princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.’

Pretty sure that’s applicable to everyone who seeks political power no matter what their name.

Biden has been actively hostile to Musk so in what way was Biden bought?

When someone shares some of your values, and is doing good things acknowledge it. Gratitude is a universal virtue.

That’s a testament to Ron’s brand, that he can seem as centrist to a lifelong Democrat voter.

What sort of idiot votes for Biden as “sensible” and “centrist”, given what he said about destroying the petroleum industry during his election campaign?

Who cares? Voters have been unfair since they exiled their victorious leaders following the Greco-Persian Wars.

You’d also have to be willfully ignorant of the past 40 years of history in the US Senate. As Barack Obama’s own Sec Def famously said, “I think he has been wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades,”

And then there was the very plain fact that he was one of the nastiest, divisive partisan hacks in recent Congressional history. Look at what he did to Reagan’s nomination of Robert Bork. That debacle was the template for the attempted character assassinations of virtually every Republic SCOTUS nominee since.

Yes, it’s quite clear to anyone paying attention. Joe Biden* is a vile, nasty, stupid piece of shit.

Or, as Obama bin Biden himself put it, “Don’t underestimate Joe’s ability to fuck things up.”

Even Snopes can’t “disprove” that one.

    A Democrat.

Biden didn’t win and WE all KNOW it

I think this site is becoming the “Let’s go Ron”

Sad…

The Big Rocket Man’s actual replies are a bit more nuanced than “Ron-bo Uber Alles!”

“I’m fine with Trump not tweeting. The important thing is that Twitter correct a grave mistake in banning his account, despite no violation of the law or terms of service. Deplatforming a sitting President undermined public trust in Twitter for half of America.”

The man certainly has a gift for clear and concise statements. It’s as if he and Twitter were made to be together.

Plus he’s actually admitting fault (“a grave mistake in banning his account, despite no violation of the law or terms of service”). Even though it was solely the fault of his predecessors, it still leaves his company vulnerable. However, Elon understanding that Trump is Trump — and not some woke Marxist crybully seaward like Garland, Liz Warren, or Brandon — he’s not concerned about being sued over it.

So prior to Trump, Alex Jones telling his followers not to pester Musk because they totally agree… hey, have you noticed that the right wing playas and Musk have been uniformly treating each other like adults in the room, unlike all the whiny crybullies screaming that Twitter is going to fail because they don’t get their free school breakfasts anymore?

Elon Musk is not a conservative savior- everyone needs to step carefully. The good is that he wants to unban a lot of conservatives. That’s really awesome and I already see some incredible changes. The bad is that we shouldn’t put all our eggs in one basket just in case this is a Trojan horse.

Musk doesn’t need to be a savior. He needs to run his companies. By purchasing Twitter and bringing it back to much more neutral setting where content isn’t banned due to ideological reasons he’s done all he should.

Y’all need to stop expecting someone to save you. There is no white knight coming. We have to do the saving on our own. Musk is giving everyone the opportunity to compete in the marketplace of ideas. That’s all we should want or expect, an even break. We have better ideas so we don’t need a thumb on the scale to prevail.

Dimsdale in reply to CommoChief. | November 28, 2022 at 8:42 am

Absolutely correct: we will always win in the arena of ideas, but we must remove the thumb on the scales that the Dems use with all due haste.

Let the left run on its ideas and policies (and history of such) instead of rampant, coordinated fraud.

Valerie in reply to CommoChief. | November 28, 2022 at 10:44 am

      And we can save us.

You can’t vote for Elon Musk. He can’t run for president.
