Vulnerable Democrats Distancing Themselves From Biden’s MAGA Speech

“Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ), who is also locked in a close reelection fight, denied even watching Biden’s speech.”

Democrats facing challenging reelection campaigns in November are distancing themselves from Biden’s divisive “Soul of the Nation” speech in Philadelphia last week.

This is fascinating news, considering Biden’s press secretary insisted the speech wasn’t divisive.

Conn Carroll reports at the Washington Examiner:

Democrats run from Biden’s divisive MAGA speech

Democrats in tough reelection races want nothing to do with President Joe Biden’s recent campaign to label half the country as a “threat to democracy.”

Asked to comment on Biden’s Philadelphia speech, Sen. Maggie Hassan (D-NH) told WMUR, “I think President Biden’s comments just painted with way too broad a brush.” Hassan will not have a set Republican opponent till after the Sept. 13 primary, but a recent University of New Hampshire poll showed her up only 1 point over the Republican front-runner.

Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ), who is also locked in a close reelection fight, denied even watching Biden’s speech. “I think a president has a right to give his opinion,” Kelly told the Associated Press. “You know, I don’t share all of his opinions. But he has a right to give his opinion.”

Hassan and Kelly have every reason to distance themselves from Biden’s divisive rhetoric. A new Reuters poll shows that the vast majority, 59%, said Biden’s speech would only further divide the country.

Ramsey Touchberry of the Washington Times offers another example:

Wisconsin Democratic Senate candidate skips Biden speech for other ‘events across the state’

The Wisconsin Democrat running to oust Republican Sen. Ron Johnson was absent from President Biden‘s side during his trip to Milwaukee on Monday, marking the latest example of Democrats in tough races bucking appearances with their party’s leader.

Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes, who’s running against Mr. Johnson, had other engagements and was unable to attend Mr. Biden‘s Labor Day campaign speech.

“The lieutenant governor appreciates the president coming to Wisconsin to honor the labor movement in our state,” campaign spokeswoman Maddy McDaniel told the Daily Mail. “Mandela walked in the Milwaukee parade and then went to support Wisconsin workers at events across the state, including in Racine, where UAW Local 180 has been on strike for over 100 days.”

These folks are lucky to be Democrats. If Trump had given a speech like that and these candidates were Republicans, they would be cornered by the media and forced to defend every word.

According to Rasmussen, there is some lousy polling on the way due to the speech.

Comments

Don’t let them. Tie them to every crappy thing that Democrats stand for and do.

The Party’s position is exactly what Biden stated. It’s out in the open but for the Dems running… they must run away from the truth to sucker the voters.

Democrats always have to lie to the voters to get elected. The problem is that people stupid enough to vote for democrats stop paying attention and don’t see the final result.

Biden forgot to tightly fold his arms and energetically nod his head up and down while also swiveling his torso side to side in appreciation, all to a recording of a crazed wildly enthused audience screaming their allegiance to the uber overlord.

“Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ), who is also locked in a close reelection fight, denied even watching Biden’s speech. “I think a president has a right to give his opinion,” Kelly told the Associated Press. “You know, I don’t share all of his opinions. But he has a right to give his opinion.””

And everyone has a right to be an idiot, says Dementia Joe. Or a Democrat, but why split hairs?

Hang this albatross around their necks good and tight.

What’s the matter, democrats? Don’t want to associate yourselves with Der Fuhrer?

Shouldn’t that be “Anti-MAGA” speech?

Not one Democrat publicly objected to the declaration of war on half the country. Not one, in or out of office. Joseph “Schickelgruber” Biden is the official and public head of their party. Every Democrat who did not speak out, especially by now, is de facto in agreement with what was said and implied. TWANLOC

Exactly so. It takes every one of them to do what they’re doing, plus their enablers and apparatchiks, clients and hangers’-on.

Strength through unity, behind the Maximum Leader who embodies the zeitgeist; If only there were a word for that, a metaphor or a meme.

I like that the Wisconsin Democrat senate candidate avoided Biden. He’s radioactive.

You know who still hasn’t said a goddamn word about it?

Bitch McConnell.

This is not a complicated issue. It was OVERWHELMINGLY rejected by both conservatives and independents. This is the easiest political layup imaginable.

But STILL NOT ONE WORD, because the RINO piece of trash hates the MAGA conservatives more than the Democrats.

McConnell and the establishment in general doesn’t like:
    1. Tea Party folks (Tea party voters)
    2. The populist right (Perot voters)
    3. MAGA folks (DJT voters)

Much overlap between them but they are still distinct. He fears that each of these groups could force him to actually use the power of his office to enact legislative items and the policy preferences supported by them. He would much rather stick to shepherding Judges and passing d/prog (lite) policies so that he doesn’t get called names and keeps his grift flowing.

“”2. The populist right (Perot voters)””

Make that “The Stupid Voters”. They were neither “right” nor “populist” to follow a Pied Piper whose only goal was to elect Bill Clinton. Twice.

Perot’s dumb stunt of ‘unwithdrawing’ from the race aside, he isn’t responsible for electing Bill Clinton.

Bush Sr and his utterly idiotic ‘Read my lips, no new taxes’ betrayal elected Bill Clinton.

Then in ’96 even if literally every single one of Perot’s voters had voted for Bob Dole, Clinton STILL would have won.

Um…he 100% reentered the race because he was paid off to do so.

There’s simply no other logical reason for it. It was a bona fide repeat of the Bull Hat Moose fiasco.

Something I’ve posted elsewhere. If Brandon is doing such a great job as the talking heads keep insisting then why isn’t any Dem inviting him to campaign with him before the Mid Terms? If fact, why are they running away from him when he visits their state?

The fact that these Dems remain Dems and thereby support Biden means that they implicitly support Biden’s fascist speech.
