Melugin and his team witnessed over 700 people crossing the border illegally into Eagle Pass, TX.
We also learned the border patrol agents are seeing an increase in “non-traditional migrants.” In other words, people from countries other than Mexico are using the southern border to enter America.

Can you please lay out what steps you wish for Abbott to under take and the potential for conflict with the Feds as a result of those actions? Then lay out the reaction you propose for Abbott when that inevitable conflict occurs along with the Feds potential responses to that action?
The median annual salary for DPS troopers is about $60K. Texas, not being the Federal government, must, by law, maintain a balanced budget – which means that everything HAS TO be paid for – no deficit spending. Governor Abbott has opened a channel for citizens to contribute to the costs of maintaining a force along the border.
How many troopers can they put you down for?

700 may seem like a lot until you consider that the tx/mexico border is over 1,200 miles in length–this is the observed influx at ONE POINT along that border–this influx is literally an invasion–no other way to describe it–and fjb does not / will not do a damn thing to stop/curtail it–he / they are clearly derelict in his / their duty

I think you need to change the metric you use to measure this. Instead of people, you should use bus loads so you can do a simple comparison with the overwhelming loads being put on New York.
One bus, the last one, had 24 ppl on it. That does not overwhelm NYC. 1,500 per day on average in McAllen Texas(which is only one of many entry points with equal or higher daily numbers) is considerably more overwhelming to a town in Texas that does not approach the size of NYC.
Yes Kyrrat. That is my point. Instead of saying 1,500 people. I suggest pointing out it’s 62 bus loads and given that a huge City like New York is “overwhelmed” by 1 bus load, it’s easy to see how unfair it is on a small border town to receive 62 times as many people.
the most practical, reasonable, cost-effective method to curtail / stop the flow of illegal immigrants is a wall–manned and patrolled 24/7 and backed-up by a state / federal government with crystal clear policies as to the requirements / process for entrance into our country–even then, given the lengh (especially in tx) of our southern border, the task is enormous but honestly believe it is an effort that is vital to our survival as a nation
one other thing: for the most part, these folks are not “refugees” from some on-going international conflict (as in ww2) fleeing for their very lives and believe that is a VERY important distinction we need to recognize and acknowledge
Wouldn’t hurt to move all our military bases there for training and defense of the country.
Inasmuch as all of our current warfare seems to be occurring in arid climes, this might be doubly beneficial…
