Republican Latinas Are Scaring Democrats

The speed at which liberals in media have turned on a once reliable Democrat constituency is astonishing.

The New York Times report on “far-right” Latinas like Texas Republican Mayra Flores was a fascinating glimpse into what Democrats fear, greatly.

As Rush Limbaugh liked to say, the left will always tell you who they fear.

As we’re finding out, Latinos who vote Republican are definitely on the list.

One of my tweets on this topic went viral and was read on the air on FOX News by Emily Compagno. She didn’t credit me by name but Tim Graham of NewsBusters was nice enough to capture the moment on video:

We’re going to hear more on this topic.

Nikolas Lanum reports at Fox News:

Liberal media outlets warn of White supremacy, far-right extremism among Hispanic, Black Republicans: analysis

Amid a number of notable Republican victories involving minority candidates and shifting voting trends in the United States, the liberal media has sounded the alarm on a new perceived political emergence: White supremacy and far-right extremism among Black and Hispanic conservatives.

On Wednesday, The New York Times published a piece headlined “The Rise of the Far-Right Latina,” referencing Mayra Flores, the first female Mexican-born member of the House, and two other Republican Latinas running for office, Monica De La Cruz and Cassy Garcia.

The piece argued that Flores flipped her seat in Texas from blue to red by “shunning moderates” while “embracing the far right.”…

Speaking with Fox News Digital, Media Research Center Latino Director Jorge Bonilla slammed the Times’ piece on Flores as an “ethnic disqualification piece.”

“We never heard about the ‘rise of the socialist Latina’ when AOC was elected because this is the left’s presumed norm. Since the Latino identity is inextricably linked to left-wing politics, the piece serves to identify the Texas Trio to the rest of the media as race traitors and therefore non-entities within the communities they aim to represent in Congress,” Bonilla said.

The liberal outlet Insider is doing its best to discredit Flores:

New GOP Rep. Mayra Flores refused four times to say whether Biden is the legitimately-elected president

Republican Rep. Mayra Flores repeatedly refused to say that President Joe Biden was in fact the legitimately-elected president of the United States during an interview, the New York Times reports.

“He’s the worst president of the United States,” Flores, who had just been sworn-in the day before, told the Times’ Jennifer Medina. Medina writes in a story published Wednesday morning that she asked Flores the same question three more times — whether Biden won the 2020 election — and received the same non-committal reply.

Flores’ reported apprehension to acknowledge the reality of the 2020 election illustrates how the GOP’s newest lawmaker is furthering the efforts of some in the party to continue to question the legitimacy of the last election. Former President Donald Trump continues to argue his baseless claim that the election was stolen, a stance that has been openly mocked by his former Attorney General Bill Barr and others.

Flores has also drawn attention for her past references to the QAnon conspiracy theory and for saying Trump “should’ve locked Hillary Clinton in jail.”

The speed at which liberals in media have turned on a once reliable Democrat constituency is astonishing.

They’re trying to send a message to these voters. Turn on Democrats, and you too could be labeled a far-right conspiracy nut.

Well done, Republican Latinas.

Everything scares Democrats. They always have so much to be scared of.

So, Izvestia on the Hudson doesn’t like the outcome, and labels Rep. Flores far right. Of course, if your are so far Left that were you sitting at the edge of the world, you would fall off if the world had edges, then anything to your right would be “far right.” Nothing could be far Left because there would be nothing to your Left.

There’s always something to your left, even if its’ only those splitters from the International Socialist Workers of the World (Marxist-Trotskyist) (Third Reformation)(Provisional).

There’s a reason Trot groups calve once they hit a critical mass of about 50 members. (Amish churches do much the same thing, for the same reason, but with a slightly higher critical mass.)

Agreed, there is always someone to your left — as Trotsky learned, that someone may be wielding an ice pick.

The lesson is that however extreme you are there is someone to your left who is even more extreme, and by that very virtue is willing to do things you might not be willing to do. That gives that someone a certain advantage in any struggle for power.

Millhouse, I was employing hyperbole to make a point

Her exact terrifying words, “I am a Latina. Not a Latinx.”

The line about AOC and the broom handle sounds good, but it’s unfair. Her achievement wasn’t in winning the general election in November. In most of NYC that’s a yawner. The real election is the D primary in June, that’s the one that attracts all the interest, and her big achievement, that nobody expected, was winning that.

stevewhitemd in reply to Milhouse. | July 8, 2022 at 10:44 am

It might be unfair but I have some difficulty rising to defend Madame AOC.

Yes, the primary was where it was at in that district. Most primaries are yawners, and when they aren’t it’s because a faction has decided to take control. That’s what Madame AOC did; and it usually takes just a small number of committed activists to make it happen.

In Ms. Flores’ case, it was a special election where the D’s were (or at least should have been) united and working to get their person elected. Ms. Flores overturned that particular applecart by rallying a significant number of voters. Yes it was a special election and not a November general vote, but still, Ms. Flores did something remarkable (and will have to do it again about four months).

You are correct that her achievement was catching the incumbent Democrat sleeping in the primary.

But, it is also true that Broom Handle (D) wins in the general.

I live in California. Charles Manson (D, dead) wins statewide by ten points. In fairness to the CA voters, Broom Handle (D) wins by twenty.

If a Supreme Court nominee can get away with not defining a woman because she’s “not a biologist”, shouldn’t a congresswoman get away with not answering election questions because she’s “not an election official”?

IMO, this scares the Dems so much because it hold the potential to blow up their open border strategy. What if they are importing future Republicans? The working class seems much more of a Rep constituency these days.

Grew up within a (long) walk of the Mexican border. Have lived most of my life within an hour’s drive. As a kid, we were farmers, used exclusively illegal Mexican labor. Half the kids in school were Mexican–although none of them were illegal. Most of my friends were Mexican ancestry. Not because we were any sort of Liberals (we weren’t) but because most of the kids were Mexican.

Blacks are taught from birth to hate white people. Unsurprisingly, many do. The Latinos (useless PC term) aren’t and generally don’t.

I have known a lot of Mexicans. Generally good folks and don’t hate me because I am white. Blacks? A lot seem to have at least a chip on their shoulder and give out an air of at least repressed hostility. I get none of that from the Latino’s.

I don’t worry much about the increasing “Latino” percentage of the population. The blacks? Until we stop teaching them that all their problems are due to whitey, things are grim.

Mayra Flores, everything AOC is not: (i) an immigrant; (ii) from humble origins; (iii) graduate of the school of hard knocks; (iv) married; (v) a mother four times over; and (vi) unlikely to ever spout leftwing drivel.

Watching Flores and AOC mix it up is going to be gold.

She’s pretty, smart and conservative. That’s a scary combination to the Dems

“Imagine, if you will, a world where all around you, blacks and Hispanics spout the language of white supremacy and nationalism. Unthinkable indeed… unless… you’ve crossed into the Sundowner Zone.”

Leave the plantation and the MSM pull out their pitchforks and white sheets to go hunting.

Yet more evidence they’re enemies of the Constitution. They should thank God the Constitution protects freedom of speech and freedom of the press, and that Democrats currently control all levels of government lest they be sued successfully for incitement and hate speech.
