San Francisco: Soros-Backed Socialist DA Chesa Boudin Overwhelmingly Loses Recall Election

A shocking 60% voted to recall Boudin. It wasn’t even close. Is this a sign that even leftists are fed up with their own policies?

It seems like only yesterday that I wrote about Chesa Boudin winning the District Attorney race in San Francisco.  An avowed socialist and Soro-backed pro-criminal DA, Boudin entered office in 2019 promising to bring a new vision to the city via “decarceral justice.”

The results have been so shocking and horrifying that progressive San Francisco had enough of the crazy and started organizing a recall election to get that man out of office before he could do any further harm.

Boudin’s short time in office was such a disaster that at least one progressive San Francisco prosecutor quit her job so she could join the recall effort.  It’s not clear how many of the 50 attorneys who left the DA’s office during Boudin’s first eighteen months in office also joined the recall effort.

The recall was a tremendous success, with Boudin being crushed as 60% of voters voted to remove him from office.

CBS News reports:

San Francisco residents voted overwhelmingly Tuesday to recall District Attorney Chesa Boudin, one of the nation’s most progressive top prosecutors.

Partial results from the San Francisco Department of Elections on Tuesday night showed the recall measure — also known as Proposition H — had the support of nearly 60% of voters, with 40% voting against it.

Boudin sought to reform the criminal justice system, ending the use of cash bail, stopping the prosecution of minors as adults, and focused on lowering jail populations amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Boudin also became the first San Francisco DA to file homicide charges against city police officers.

. . . . San Francisco Mayor Landon Breed will choose Boudin’s replacement.

Whoever is appointed will have to run in the general election to fill the remainder of Boudin’s term, which was to last through 2023.

Needless to say, there wasn’t much to celebrate at Boudin’s election night party.

Boudin is blaming a herd of unicorn San Francisco republicans for his ouster. And “tech bros.” Or something.

I’m pretty sure that Republicans don’t make up 60% of the electorate in San Francisco, even in a recall election, but we’ll find out when the numbers roll in. For now, Boudin can’t admit (or see?) that it was his horrific pro-crime and pro-criminal policies at the expense of law-abiding, tax-paying citizens that created a situation that made his continuing in office untenable for the citizens of San Francisco.

Good the voters threw his red liberal ass out of office. Now what? The hard part is just starting.

A temporary bout of sanity strikes San Francisco voters.

Meanwhile, how many innocents died or were otherwise harmed by criminal sociopaths’ predations, thanks to Boudin’s and the Dumb-o-crats’ perennial and indefensible coddling and enabling of criminals, via outrageous leniency in prosecutions and sentencing that represent nothing less than a total dereliction of the prosecutors’ duty, and, an appalling betrayal of the public trust?

Criminals are not “victims,” no matter how vociferously Democrats may claim so.

We Californians are so used to propositions being titled to reflect the exact opposite of what the propositions are for that most voters assumed voting for Proposition (Preparation?) H to remove Boudin was a vote to keep him in office. There is no other explanation.

A “shocking 60%” voted to oust him?

To me the truly shocking thing is that apparently 40% think he has been doing an OK job.

Chesa says….”Bunch of damn right wing racists!”

The replacement will be just as bad.
But I only wish the terrorist DA all the bad luck in the world.

Exactly, I have no confidence that Breed will appoint someone that does not support her destruction of the town.

Mr. Boudin will land on his feet at some plush NGO. He’ll wait a few years, build up a supply of favors and chits, and then consider a run for governor. He’ll fail miserably at that, but he’ll have substantial wealth and influence in progressive circles regardless.

Don’t be fooled. The policy was correct, it just wasn’t “implemented correctly”… like every other failed marxist scheme.

Build a wall around SF, charge $10 for people to see what “utopia” looks like.

It’s other people’s fault. They just didn’t understand what a good job he was doing. He wished reporters had done a better job communicating his message.

    Hobos in their natural habitat?

1 down. How many thousand more to go?

He was voted out because he was way too hard on criminals. SF residents won’t be happy until they must wear waders, asbestos gloves, gas masks and bullet proof vests to cross the street.

Proving once again like it or not you better pay attention to politics.

Dejectedhead | June 8, 2022 at 1:18 pm

LOL, he blamed a billionaire for defeating him after being propped up by a billionaire.

I’m actually quite surprised. The communists don’t usually learn anything from getting exactly what they voted for. Was there a temporary IQ increase there in Frisco?

can’t wait till he has a “close encounter” with one of the folks on the street as a result of his “catch and release” policies–would be appropos indeed

A good part of the explanation for this result is low turnout among Dems.

Too bad. But, the bright side is that maybe the Dems have some people who still have a sense of shame.

Chesa Boudin is a red-diaper baby whose Weather Underground went to jail for a 1970’s robbery to fund New Left terrorism in which people were killed. He as adopted by Bill “Guilty as Sin but Free as a Bird” Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, and represents New Left aristocracy (or, more accurately, oligarchy wannabes).

Considering that the Left puts such people in power to have their thugs and terrorists treated with kid gloves while treating the January 6 breachers–who generally milled about like an especially large crowd of tourists–like an enemy army tells a lot.

Eat more Greens!!!!!

Too bad. But, the bright side is that maybe the Dems have some people who still have a sense of shame.

I admit to being amazed that he lost. I expected the Democrat vote fraud operation to be operating full speed to ensure he stayed in. If they failed to do so, you know that if we have an election in November that the Democrat party will have learned that they have to try harder nationwide. There is an excellent chance that the fraud will be so obvious that it will not be possible to deny that it was rigged. Which means a national decision will have to be made.

I wondered the same. SF is mostly Dem. I think this was a situation where the wealthy got sucker punched with soaring crime. In SF, on zillow, most homes are listed over $1M. Look at how many are for sale. I do think this was an isolated case where the wealthy SF residents knew they had to get him out.

Boudin, his birth parents, his foster-parents, and practically every person this PoS knew growing up should have drawn their last breath at the business end of a rope, on a gallows, in the public square, to acknowledge the treason perpetrated by these ‘collective’ vermin.

You don’t need a weatherman to tell which way the wind is blowing…

Good riddance! This is what happens when liberals get mugged by reality..Hopefully more of these public defenders on steroids will face the same music
