Samantha Power Admits Biden Admin Using Russia-Ukraine War to Push Green Energy

“Never let a crisis go to waste…”

Samantha Power, the administrator for the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), admitted to the world that the administration is using Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine to push its green energy agenda.

From the ABC transcript (my emphasis):

STEPHANOPOULOS: We’re also seeing the impact spread beyond Ukraine, beyond Ukraine’s neighbors, beyond Europe. We’re seeing global food shortages all around the world.

As the administrator of the U.S. Agency for International Development, what more can be done to address those shortages?

POWER: Thank you for posing that question. It is just another catastrophic effect of Putin’s unprovoked invasion of Ukraine. I mean, as if the harms in Ukraine weren’t enough, you have countries like in sub Saharan Africa and in the Middle East who get maybe 80 to 90 percent of their wheat or their grain overall from Russia and Ukraine. And you see massive spikes in food prices. Food prices right now, George, globally, are up 34 percent from where they were a year ago. Aided substantially, again, by this invasion.

So, we’ve gone to Congress asking for a substantial increase in humanitarian assistance in order to be able to meet those needs, but we’re also active, of course, in more than 80 countries around the world, well and apart from this crisis. So, we’re working with farmers to also increase their production so that you actually have more supply brought on market. Fertilizer shortages are real now because Russia is a big exporter of fertilizer. And even though fertilizer is not sanctioned, less fertilizer is coming out of Russia. As a result, we’re working with countries to think about natural solutions like manure and compost. And this may hasten transition that would have been in the interest of farmers to make eventually anyway.

So, never let a crisis go to waste, but we really do need this financial support from the Congress to be able to meet emergency food needs so we don’t see the cascading deadly effects of Russia’s war extend into Africa and beyond.

In March, Biden mentioned “clean” energy when talking about Russian energy sources:

Harris said something similar:

Buttigieg said this is a great time to buy an electric car. You know, a small thing that costs more than my awesome Toyota 4Runner.

“… Fertilizer shortages are real now …”

New Communist Dictatorships always endeavor to starve a large part of their people.

There will never be a fertilizer shortage as long as there are Democrat politicians who unload tons of bullshit every day on the unsuspecting public.

Tranny?

“…unprovoked…” — I don’t think that woman knows the meaning of a very important diplomatic term.

This Ukraine-Russian war might be a good reason to ramp up our domestic energy production.

You proles obviously don’t know how to act in your best interests, so we’re going to manipulate you to behave the way we think you should, whether you agree with it or not.

EV are not ready for prime time because of several factors;
1. Lack of ability to secure necessary components to produce batteries domestically; greens block and ideological bureaucracy lock up ability to mine them
2. China controls, directly or indirectly via production contracts the lion’s square of nickel, cobalt, magnesium and so on.
3. Electrical grid build out to accommodate EV only passenger vehicles and light trucks to ‘fuel’ them. Figure a 35% increase in power generation as a back of the envelope figure.

Finally if the goal of EV is abandonment of carbon based fuels and their emissions due to ‘climate change’ then the electrical grid must be run on Nukes with some solar, wind and hydro. The greens oppose nukes, GER is shutting down theirs and CA is doing the same in 2025 for it’s last two reactors.

EV’s will NEVER replace IC units in a 1:1 form. The Laws of Physics will not allow for it. It is a physical impossibility based on the true legitimate science.

Going beyond that is just a waste of time.

CommoChief in reply to taurus the judge. | May 2, 2022 at 12:47 pm

It’s not a waste of time to ask the questions about how the purveyors of EV will specifically address the the challenges. Some of them are zealots and some offer soft support. The goal is to make them defend their plan; which they can’t, because present tech and resource inputs don’t exist. That’s why they engage in magical thinking projecting ‘innovation’ that’s always in the future to solve the impossible challenges. When we do this it peels away support from the non zealots and non grifters of subsidies.

taurus the judge in reply to CommoChief. | May 2, 2022 at 2:38 pm

I disagree (But this disagreement is based on close to 20 years experience dealing with “green” in an industrial setting and had to counteract the “magical thinking” (I’m going to steal that one from you for future use) done at the board level)

There is a “faux” belief (most likely founded in a binary agent consisting of 40% business think and 60% Stage 4 Dunning-Kruger Syndrome) that words ( and the blind promises of) “technology”, AI, Advanced Engineering, “out of the box” solutions and other buzz words somehow “transmute” into 3 dimensional solutions I can build in SolidWorks.

Then to show they are “green”/ “diverse”/ “a good guy/gal”, “team player”, “visionary” or , they will vote or push to expend HUGE amounts of money and effort hours onto ideas/concepts/experiments that are FATALLY and FUNDAMENTALLY flawed and have no possible chance of success whatsoever.

Then I have to watch them crash and deal with the fallout. ( and often the bad guy because I cant make the fantasy work like they “dream” it will because someone had a “great idea” that “sounds plausible” ( to people who don’t have the requisite technical skills to be allowed to make such a determination in the first place.)

So, experience and liability has taught me the best thing in these cases is to start out with the 2×4 right between the eyes to get their attention and force feed them reality.

It hurts like hell and they hate you for it initially but its still the best of a lot of bad choices.

Just like the sheepdog. We look like the wolf to the sheep too.

“Innovation” will not repeal the laws of physics. What they propose-infinite, clean, cheap electricity from windmills and solar-can not, will not happen.

Expecting scientific rationality from politicians is like expecting a fish to ride a bicycle.

    jb4 in reply to CommoChief. | May 2, 2022 at 1:57 pm

Here is another one – batteries that don’t catch fire and possibly burn down your house ….. to wit, the ship that sank in the ocean a few months ago with 4,000 high end VW electric cars, because of battery fires that could not be put out.

      Arminius in reply to jb4. | May 3, 2022 at 9:04 am

Watch how quickly this electric bus goes from zero to fully engulfed in flames. It happened to be caught on security cam.

“An Electric Bus Caught Fire After Battery Explosion in Paris”

That’s the future they’re trying to force you into over a pretend crisis that isn’t happening anyway. Because they hate you for not submitting to their dictatorship.

      There is no “climate catastrophe.”

      https://polarbearscience.com/

The polar bears are doing just fine.

I only have one question. Did you run this article by the Truth Bureau before publishing it? I don’t want to take a chance of getting disinformation.

Yet again, these progs prove how insane they truly are.

A communist regime declares war on a NATO ally. Another communist regime has nearly cornered the market on key aspects of “renewal” energy generation.

Ergo we should hobble our own energy production capacity and dive headlong into a scenario where we are completely dependent upon these hostile commie regimes for our economic capacity and national security?

WTF? These people are sick and must be stopped.

Arminius in reply to Paul. | May 3, 2022 at 10:20 am

They’re not sick. They’re on the payroll.

One of my favorite tells is how quickly they declared calling this virus after the city or country where it originated “racist” and “anti-Chinese.” Then they blamed all violent attacks against Asians on Trump for “stigmatizing” Asians by daring to call this thing the Wuhan/Chinese virus.

But note they’ll still talk about West Nile Virus which is named after the province in Uganda where the virus was first isolated and identified. Same for the Zika virus, named after a forested region in Uganda, and Ebola, named after a river in what is now the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Apparently impoverished countries in Africa don’t have the kind of cash the CCP does.

The fact that you can talk about Lyme disease, named after a town in Connecticut, or Rocky Mountain spotted fever without them taking offense really hammers home the fact they’re not working for us.

healthguyfsu | May 2, 2022 at 1:04 pm

How come no one calls them out on this “export clean energy” crap???

You can’t export jack shit if you can’t produce enough of this for your own country’s demands….and I guarantee you that you can’t produce enough green energy to do that.

healthguyfsu in reply to healthguyfsu. | May 2, 2022 at 1:06 pm

FFS, these people are trying to act like we discovered cold nuclear fusion….scene straight out of fictional movies.

    Who is buying this crap?

taurus the judge in reply to healthguyfsu. | May 2, 2022 at 3:05 pm

I’ll tell you why as a PE.

Its like the medical community with Covid, professional suicide.

Read my post @2:38 to the Chief.

They will not listen to the ones ( basically the mechanical and electrical engineers who are the SMEs) who know the physics but WILL listen to process engineers, dreamers, designers and everybody else.

    Now, part 2 is this.

They actually KNOW it does not and cannot work at the highest levels. This is why they come up with custom “nebulous” meaningless metrics so they can “argue numbers” while avoiding direct questions ( basically a strawman defense) against hard relative data.

One very basic example is MPGe (miles per gallon electric)

Go to Home Depot and get a 5 gal bucket of amps and you will see what I mean.

There is no direct correlation between “mile per gallon” in terms of fuel versus an ampere consumed. Even when you break it down to joules to make it even, then the effects like payload, weight, resistance factors have to be included in the same scale for a valid comparison.

That’s the level that shows the truth and that’s what they know but WILL NOT let the sheeple see.

Just like Obamacare- you have to pass it first to see what’s in it. ( how did that work out)

ALL Green energy is a wealth distribution SCAM. It has no basis in legitimate science.

DaveGinOly in reply to healthguyfsu. | May 6, 2022 at 3:05 pm

I’d like to know how Joe proposes to “export” green energy. Is he going to put it in batteries and ship them around the world? Is he going to have transatlantic power lines laid on the ocean floor? Are we going to launch orbiting microwave relay stations? Exactly how will “green energy” be exported?

The truth hurts and reality bites.
These are the questions that must be asked to the regime by those who know the facts (in comments above).
We can’t let the administration get by with fairytale lies. The people need to know they are lying and deal with Realville.

henrybowman | May 2, 2022 at 3:50 pm

There sure are a lot of women making policy decisions in the Biden administration.
I’m sitting here trying to make a list of the competent ones, and having trouble even starting.
Help me out here, folks. I’ll even accept guys who think they’re women.

And then when they outlaw beef and eating meat, where will the manure come from? they talk out their butts, but a lot of people must have ears located there too.

DaveGinOly in reply to Mich. | May 6, 2022 at 3:07 pm

They believe that all production is accomplished via government edicts. If they want farmers to use manure, manure will be available because politicians require its use. No cattle necessary.
