Just as Elon Musk Becomes a Hot Story a Report Surfaces of an Old Sexual Harassment Claim

Elon Musk said on Wednesday, “Political attacks on me will escalate dramatically in coming months.”

This is so boring. It’s so predictable. Elon Musk said on Wednesday, “Political attacks on me will escalate dramatically in coming months.”

No one needs to be a psychic to see this coming. In fact, I am shocked it took this long for someone to come forward and accuse Musk of sexual harassment.

Get this. The woman involved in the case did not even come forward. Her friend went public with the information without consulting the attendant.

So we’re not even hearing from the SpaceX flight attendant who allegedly received $250,000 from Musk to settle a sexual harassment claim. From Business Insider:

The flight attendant told her friend that the billionaire SpaceX and Tesla founder asked her to come to his room during a flight in late 2016 “for a full body massage,” the declaration says. When she arrived, the attendant found that Musk “was completely naked except for a sheet covering the lower half of his body.” During the massage, the declaration says, Musk “exposed his genitals” and then “touched her and offered to buy her a horse if she would ‘do more,’ referring to the performance of sex acts.”

The attendant, who rides horses, declined and continued with the massage without engaging in any sexual conduct. The attendant “is not for sale,” the friend’s declaration said. “She is not going to perform sexual favors for money or gifts.” The incident occurred during a flight to London.

“He whipped out his penis, it was erect,” the friend said, describing the allegations. “And he started propositioning her, like he touched her thigh and told her he would buy her a horse. And he basically tried to bribe her to perform some sort of sexual favor.”

Business Insider reported that SpaceX has in-house massage therapists for the executives. The attendant said her superiors encouraged her “to purchase her own professional massage training.”

The friend said the attendant “started to feel as if she was receiving some sort of retaliation where her shifts were cut back, and she was starting to feel really stressed” and that “she was being pushed out and punished for refusing to prostitute herself.”

The attendant contacted a California employment lawyer in 2018, two years after the alleged incident:

The attendant’s complaint was resolved quickly after a session with a mediator that Musk personally attended. The matter never reached a court of law or an arbitration proceeding. In November 2018, Musk, SpaceX and the flight attendant entered into a severance agreement granting the attendant a $250,000 payment in exchange for a promise not to sue over the claims.

The agreement also included restrictive non-disclosure and non-disparagement clauses that bar the attendant from ever discussing the severance payment or disclosing any information of any kind about Musk and his businesses, including SpaceX and Tesla.

The friend came forward because the non-disclosure does not apply to her:

“I absolutely felt a responsibility to come forward with it, especially now,” she said. “He is the richest man in the world. Someone with that level of power causing that kind of harm and then throwing some money at the situation, that’s not accountability. There are predators all over the world. But when someone is particularly wealthy and powerful, they literally have systems that are like a machine working for them, to set them up to be able to do whatever they want.”

Remaining silent, the friend said, would make her complicit. “When you choose to remain silent, yeah, you do become a part of that system,” she said. “You do become a part of that machine that allows someone like Elon Musk to continue to do the horrible things that he’s done.”

Um, Elon Musk has been one of the richest human beings on earth for a long time. Why now? How can she use his money as an excuse to come out now?

Musk asked Business Insider “for more time to respond“:

After Insider contacted Musk for comment, he emailed to ask for more time to respond and said there is “a lot more to this story.”

“If I were inclined to engage in sexual harassment, this is unlikely to be the first time in my entire 30-year career that it comes to light,” he wrote, calling the story a “politically motivated hit piece.”

The key word: CLAIM.

That the friend knows is proof the victim did not abide by the non-disclosure and non-disparaging agreement.

Hope part of Musk’s response is “can I get a refund?”

henrybowman in reply to MrE. | May 20, 2022 at 2:12 am

“Remaining silent, the friend said, would make her complicit.”

Gee, she was was happy enough to sign the agreement in the first place, take the money home, and stay silent about it for four years. Refund, please.

Milhouse in reply to henrybowman. | May 20, 2022 at 9:47 am

The friend didn’t sign anything, or get any money. But now the alleged “victim” if you can call her that, who has kept her mouth shut as promised, is going to be in trouble. Some friend.

Peabody in reply to Milhouse. | May 20, 2022 at 10:33 am

She’s probably a friend of a friend and the allegation probably got exaggerated along the way.

henrybowman in reply to Milhouse. | May 20, 2022 at 3:38 pm

Her “friend” knowing all the details of the settlement is pretty solid evidence that the “victim” did NOT keep her mouth shut as promised.

henrybowman in reply to Milhouse. | May 20, 2022 at 3:39 pm

Oh, I think I understand your point now. We differed on who “her” referred to in that quote. I thought it referred to the payee.

Didn’t Tara Reade’s mother call Larry King about Biden fondling her in rather intimate ways? Yet that story remains buried.

And Reade “wanted to make it clear that I would be willing to go under oath or cooperate with any law enforcement regarding it, because it did happen. Even if it was 26 years ago.”

This “attendant” was allegedly made offers, but never touched or assaulted, physically anyway. The matter was arbitrated and settled to each party’s satisfaction (more than Reade got).

And yes, the timing reeks of typical Democrat trickery and projection.

Did anyone ask any of the little girls that Biden touched and sniffed inappropriately? Is there a way to touch and sniff little girls “appropriately,” for that matter? Apparently so, if you are Joe Biden.

The friend came forward because the non-disclosure does not apply to her:

But it does apply to the friend who told her about it. Surely that was a violation and she should now return the money.

In any case, even assuming this to be completely true, I’m not seeing the big deal. It’s not against the law to proposition someone, even an employee. Retaliating against her for refusing would be illegal, but the report doesn’t even allege any definite retaliation, just that she felt like she was being punished. which even by her own account might all have been in her mind.

Further, Musk isn’t running for office, so he doesn’t need to worry about pissing off some socially conservative voters. He could openly acknowledge being a womanizer, just as Trump used to do before he went into politics, and it shouldn’t affect him at all. Especially since he’s apparently not currently with his girlfriend. So what is the point of all this?

    Damn straight.

But just because he’s sexually frisky, that does NOT make him a “womanizer” in any prejorative sense, anymore than women on TikTok bragging about their number of sexual acts with different men makes them “manizers”.

When you’re a good looking, six feet tall and a gazillionaire: have fun!

    buck61 in reply to Milhouse. | May 19, 2022 at 11:33 pm

I would venture to guess that the friend may have been told before any non disclosure agreement was in effect considering the fact that there was about two years between the allegation and when she first went to a lawyer.

      malclave in reply to buck61. | May 20, 2022 at 1:12 am

Possibly. On the other hand, she appears to know all about the settlement even though that was covered by the NDA.

Barry in reply to malclave. | May 20, 2022 at 11:19 am

        Bingo.

Guaranteed though, it’s all a lie. Whatever happened, if anything, it wasn’t as the deep state media is reporting it.

henrybowman in reply to Milhouse. | May 20, 2022 at 2:15 am

“I’m not seeing the big deal. It’s not against the law to proposition someone, even an employee.”

In some circles, this amounts to nothing more than a failed pickup line.

The humor is that that Musk hater at Twitter who got himself Veritased just yesterday is probably giving himself a second round of ass-kicking for reminding the entire world that Musk has Aspergers. This behavior is classic Aspergers territory.

I smell bullshit from the start.

She waited TWO YEARS in the first place? And then accepted a pretty low (for the incident and person involved) offer from a multi-billionaire?

Smells like Musk just paid off a crazy to shut her mouth and go away.

My2centshere | May 20, 2022 at 12:44 am

How many more are sitting in the wings ready to accuse Musk? Smells a little like the 20 women they had ready to go after Trump.

Oh. Elon Musk. Sex scandal. Who couldn’t have predicted this. My Grandma?

Am I obligated to buy this crap?

My Grandfather made a lot of sense too.

Like your grandparents were more upright.

I used to come home from liberty in Asia and I could tell my Grandma exactly what I did. OK, not exactly. But enough so she knew I needed to go to confession. Fortunately my Monsignor had been an Army Chaplain in Korea.

God, did that guy have me beat. Every time I thought I had him, he was like, hold my beer. And I was like, holy unmentionable. And then he outdid me. God, I loved that priest. The sins he gave absolution for in Korea are, well, ungodly.

Go to a Notre Dame Game on a Sunday.

He needed to. Letting those men go to their graves with ought forgiveness would have been a sin.

The vile Dumb-o-crat totalitarian-narcissists are so utterly predictable in their machinations. As soon as someone becomes a threat to their power, accuse him/her of being an alleged racist, or, of having sexually harassed someone, decades ago, or, of having hunted and skinned a baby seal, etc., etc.

On the other hand, if Musk had been a communist revolutionary who’d murdered innocents (a la Che Guevera or Castro), or, a member of a black radical, Muslim or Puerto Rican terrorist organization who’d murdered innocents, the Dumb-o-crats would be singing hosannas to him.

I’m waiting for “green”-obsessed Dumb-o-crats who enjoy the supposed pro-environment cachet they believe driving a Tesla confers upon them, to start boycotting Tesla as an allegedly “conservative” company, now that Musk is going to be voting GOP (and, presumably generously donating to the GOP, as well), and, attempting to buy Twitter and remove its obvious, anti-conservative censorship regime. I presume we’ll see the odious empty vessel narcissist and demagogue, Occasional-Cortex, make a big display of selling her taxpayer-funded Tesla, in short order.

Rupert Smedley Hepplewhite | May 20, 2022 at 6:34 am

Looks like we just got an update from Christine Blasey Ford.

The issue here is not the sexual harassment. It’s the dirty politics. A couple of days ago, Tesla was also removed from the S&P500 which forces all of the many index funds to SELL at the same time which drives the stock price down. The reason given was concern over Teslas catching fire which is NOT a criteria for being listed in that index. It’s pure politics.

Tesla has also been politically isolated by the Brandon admin for not being unionized and so is not eligible for all of the government subsidies being handed out to GM, Ford and other US EV manufacturers.

Spacex has also been subjected to repeated harassment at their Texas launch facilities from the EPA who can’t seem to abide to agreements.

The “green economy” has absolutely nothing to do with the environment. It’s just another of the many new weapons being used to destroy any who dare go against the government. Pure politics for politics sake.

You can bet there will be charges of racism, lack of diversification, and the usual list of phobia-phobic phobias heading Musk’s way soon and endlessly. The Trump treatment.

So…. how long before our Trump haters here start up with “We like what Musk does but we would rather it was someone other than Musk”?

We will now return to the regular scheduled program. Carry on.

Bruises and DNA reported within 24 hours or It.Didn’t.Happen.

I know virtue when I see it. I wouldn’t sell my honor for less that $250k either.

Horses and the massage business?

“I was once involved in a panel discussion at which the idea was voiced and elaborated that riding horses was a good way for girls to prepare for marriage because it gave them practice controlling something powerful and dangerous between their legs. I thought, and at enormous risk of self- exposure said, that controlling something powerful and dangerous between my legs didn’t characterize either marriage or horsemanship as I had experienced them. It is true that some activities that fall under the heading “sex'” can be dangerous, but before AIDS it was the thing the man sometimes had in his hand, and not the thing between his legs, that was worrisome. And there are some differences between husbands and horses that I thought worthy of consideration, including the fact that in the case of husbands direct mutual genital contact is to the point, whereas it interferes with horsemanship. I don’t doubt that it is possible, only that it is horsemanship.

Vicki Hearne, _Bandit_, p.205

The timing isn’t suspicious at all. /S

Wrathchilde | May 20, 2022 at 9:36 am

So this flight attendant has an NDA that “bar the attendant from ever discussing the severance payment or disclosing any information of any kind about Musk and his businesses, including SpaceX and Tesla.”

Now *she* did not disclose this issue to the press, but her friend who is *Not covered by NDA* does.

Flight attendant still violated NDA by telling her “friend” about the issue, no? I would think she’d still be on the hook for the NDA. Great friend you have there!

Jack Klompus | May 20, 2022 at 9:47 am

Are they going to bring her out in a pair of Garth from Wayne’s World glasses and have Cory Booker fawn over her?

Oh, gee. This story from a third party says that Musk propositioned a woman who said “no,” and he accepted it. Nevertheless, she later decided her company was not treating her well, so she trotted out the alleged incident and got a boatload of money.

That’s all they got.

Close The Fed | May 20, 2022 at 10:07 am

I’m unsure, but I’ll assume offering money or things for sex is a crime. It’s called being a “John.” Almost never prosecuted.

That said, he asked, she said “No.” That was the end of it.

He asked. He didn’t DEMAND. He didn’t threaten. He didn’t assault her.

Not a big deal. Might be annoying, but not a big deal.

Signed,
Another Female

tlcomm2 in reply to Close The Fed. | May 20, 2022 at 10:36 am

Has a date ever bought you dinner? Maybe flowers? Guys are pigs – we do that hoping for a bit more than casual conversation. Not truly criminal, just human nature. Replication of the species is a primal urge.

gonzotx in reply to Close The Fed. | May 20, 2022 at 9:00 pm

BUT , if she now loses flights, this her way to make a living and you are pressuring her to have sex, abet , with a mighty jig e horse in the picture (lol)… that’s not legal from her employer

It’s clearly bullshit. 100% bullshit. They just need to get Ragspierre’s favorite attorney, Avenatti, out of jail to help promote the lie and line up some more liars.

Everything, and I mean everything that comes from the left is a lie. Everything.

The good news is, there is nothing they can do to hurt Musk.

To quote a friend of mine, “I’m not buying this. I’m not even renting it.”

First, we have a presumption of innocence. That’s our starting point. Now we apply the third-party claim of a possible event several years in the past. That barely moves the needle. Then we add in all the additional witnesses, video evidence, sworn testimony…. Zero plus zero is still zero.

I’m willing to bet every guy who has become famous enough or accumulated enough money has received in return a *bare* minimum of one woman willing to lie to the court in order to collect a settlement. Once you hit that billion dollars in assets line, they probably come out of the woodwork at least once a week.

So believe all women, sure. At least the ones with real evidence.

Lucifer Morningstar | May 20, 2022 at 1:58 pm

Lol. The whole “Elon Musk is a racist and treats blacks badly at his factories” narrative totally flopped on Twitter and elsewhere so now they are going with the alternative of “Elon Musk sexually harassed an anonymous “flight attendant” years ago and Musk paid her off for her silence her” narrative in another attempt to bring him down. Which you can bet dollars to donuts will begin to appear on Twitter and other social media courtesy of the propaganda arm of the democrat party (aka liberal mainstream media).

But in the end does anyone outside of the lunatic liberals actually believe this stuff?

I wonder if I’m the only guy who laughed at the friend’s comment:

“He whipped out his penis, it was erect,”

The terms “whip” and “erect” are not anatomically compatible. It might be fun to cross examine the friend and ask her to explain her remarks and whether said reveal made a cracking sound, like a whip.

henrybowman in reply to MrE. | May 20, 2022 at 3:52 pm

Cultural tradition informs us that all whipping is performed by the opposite genitalia.

I know they are going to throw all kinds of crap at him, but having massages for all high executives on air transport, is this a common thing?
