Joe Biden’s Presidency has Never Recovered From the Botched Withdrawal From Afghanistan

Reports on Biden’s sinking numbers have become routine. But August of 2021 was the turning point.

Joe Biden’s poll numbers are terrible and keep getting worse. While his approval is certainly being affected by inflation, high gas prices, and other issues, the withdrawal from Afghanistan was the pivotal moment.

He has never recovered from it.

Here’s a glimpse of his recent polling, via The Hill:

Biden approval rating at lowest point in Reuters-Ipsos polling

President Biden’s approval rating fell to 36 percent in a Reuters-Ipsos poll released Tuesday, marking its lowest point to date in that particular poll.

The poll found Biden’s approval rating fell 6 percentage points from a week earlier, and it dropped from 76 percent to 72 percent among Democrats in that same span.

The low point for Biden in the Reuters poll came less than a week after he hit a new low in the Associated Press poll, which found the president’s approval rating sat at 39 percent.

Both polls reflect a consistent trend of Biden’s approval rating mired in the high 30 percent to low 40 percent range in recent months. The president has been hampered by rising costs, which have been exacerbated by the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Voters have consistently given Biden poor marks on his handling of the economy, which aides argue is strong despite persistent concerns about inflation. When confronted with bad polls, the White House has insisted its agenda benefits the American people and that officials must do a better job communicating that.

Reports on Biden’s sinking numbers have become routine. But August of 2021 was the turning point.

What happened in the days before and after the withdrawal is still being analyzed.

FOX News reports:

Afghanistan’s swift surrender to the Taliban was due to Biden’s withdrawal of American troops, watchdog says

The surprisingly swift collapse of the Afghan military to Taliban forces last summer, which surprised combat experts, was mostly due to the withdrawal of America’s troops, a U.S. watchdog group said.

In a report made public Tuesday, the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction, or SIGAR, said the withdrawal “destroyed” the morale of the Afghan forces and left them without vital air support in their struggle to keep Afghanistan from falling to the Taliban, Reuters reported.

The report highlighted that the withdrawal of U.S. troops was a condition of an agreement made and signed by the Trump administration in February 2020 and later carried out by the Biden administration.

The whole thing was handled badly.

The American people are very patient, but leaving Americans behind in Afghanistan was unforgivable. When service members were then killed by a suicide bomber, Biden’s political fate was sealed.

While working here in Florida with my local Republican Party registering voters we too noticed that in August the bottom fell out for the Brandon Administration. We had more Vets and military families express contempt and hatred towards the occupant in the White House, the Democrat Party, the left and the media (the enemy of the people). As a result, here in the Sunshine State, the Democrats went from a lead of some 53,000 in registered voters to a GOP lead of 134,000. Yeah, Afghanistan opened the wound that is only getting bigger.

When Trump retakes the WH in 2024 I hope he listens when people tell him to CLEAN HOUSE! Every last member of this administration needs to be removed and if possible never allowed to work in government again! The damage they have done to this nation, some of it we may never recover from, at least within our lifetime.

Yes, he needs to clean out the SES ranks in a 2nd term – but Trump will have to beat Hillary again to have a second term – and Hillary’s running mate might be Liz Cheney. You don’t think the Democrats will run a senile schmuck like Biden again (if he is even still breathing), or an incompetent like KH do you? And who else do they have on their bench – assuming they get a well deserved wipeout in the Midterms? Hillary has already proven herself to be a master at conspiracy and skullduggery. She nearly took down a sitting President, and only a fighter with deep pockets like Trump could have survived her machine’s onslaught. And only a Trump could beat her again, given how good she is at the dark arts.

I think Hillary is done, and Cheney’s goose is cooked unless the dems in WY somehow put her over the line in the primary (currently polling 30 pts behind her challenger).

It’s going to take another generation to clean out the traitors and the corrupt trash that is infested in our government.

And don’t expect a GOP House run by McCarthy to do it. Nor a Senate run by that slithering bag of slime McConnell.

The 2024 ticket should be Trump-DeSantis: it will ensure 12 years of a GOP president we can trust again.

The only way to clean out all that trash is by reducing the size of the behemoth government. While agencies need to be done away with. They’re infested with lifetime bureaucrats that will keep the grift going.

      I don’t see that happening.

“Botched withdrawal from Afghanistan”

Much like botched plastic surgery. You are scarred for life. You look like an idiot and your career as a celebrity is over.

Indeed! It’s an indelible stain on our nation, something that will live on in infamy as one of the worst mistakes our nation ever made.

NOTHING was ‘botched’ about the withdrawl from Afghanistan. It was intentional, designed to arm radical Islam and neuter US power in the world.

It was Obama’s doctrine – and his doing. Biden is just a puppet.

I think that all (most) of you would agree that the war in Ukraine is one of the most dangerous geopolitical things to occur in the past twenty years. It doesn’t take a genius to see how Biden’s ineptitude in Afghanistan emboldened Putin.

Once Putin saw that Biden and his woke military and State Department were both clueless and feckless, it was Katie bar the door.

Well played, Brandon. Well played.

You think anyone in power cares about polls and approval numbers?

They stole the 2020 election in broad daylight; since then pretty much anything the Biden administration wanted to do was carried out, regardless of Biden’s poll numbers.

We’ve sent untold billions to Ukraine to be laundered and returned to our own politicians and MIC cronies.

Our feckless and complicit GOP sends out fundraising letters while holding hands under the table with the Dems.

Sorry, these polls are meant to soothe the agitation of the masses without reflecting the reality that our preferences are of no consequence to our ruling class.

Not here to defend Biden, but Afghanistan was a shitshow and would have been a disaster no matter how long we stayed and whatever our method of withdrawal. The Taliban would have waited as long as they needed to and their takeover would have been just as hasty regardless. I’m glad we finally ripped off that band aid.

You’re ignoring the people and equipment needlessly left behind. Even if the Taliban did win, we could have made them suffer for it instead of running in abject terror.

We all knew that if Brandon “got in,” most everything that’s happened, would happen.
We still have yuge economy issues coming….what are Xi and “Fat Boy” across the Pacific going to do?
Cowards that are the Republican Party are AGAIN going to allow voting shenanigans in November……and ’24.
We’ll probably look back to now and only wish it were that good.

Trump had an orderly withdrawl planned . We would have retained Bagram. We would have redeployed the 80 billion in military hardware or destroyed it. Not parting gifts to the taliban…Biden just wanted a talking point for 9/11 anniverasary, a lot of blood is on his hands. Just one more in the string of policy diasters he created , starting with Keystone XL canceled on day one. Hope all Biden voters are as miserable

Barack “burden” Obama survived the botched withdrawal from Iraq, which was the segue to World War Springs. Joe “decaffeinated” Biden/Maidan/Slavic Spring will be just fine. Throw another fetus on the barbie, it’s over, maybe, baby.

A few days after the election, I had a dream where like Trump did, Biden turned to his left to descend the stairs for his inauguration ceremony. Instead of descending gracefully to where the people waited for him, he tripped at the waist as if over an invisible turnstile where he launched head long down the stair well and out of sight.

Revisiting the dream I noted there was no sound of impact; only the silence of an endless fall.

Most sobering for me is realizing that Biden’s endless fall is taking everyone with him.

I don’t expect to see any turn around while he is in office.

“I don’t expect to see any turn around while he is in office.”

Well, if you did you would be seeing stuff that’s not there.

It was one episode in the shape of things to come .

Biden’s “presidency” wasn’t supposed to ‘recover’.

Biden is like a sacrifical annode on a boat: he reads what is put on his teleprompter, and occassionally blurts out things he was mantadorily told (being his is officially the president). Other than that, he is in charge of nothing.

His trailer-trash wife is in on it (her petty ego is easy to buy). Everyone around Biden is in Obama’s inner circle (Susan Rice, Anita Dunn, etc.). It’s no coincidence that Obama makes speeches right before Biden reads something related to those speeches on his teleprompter.

In summary: Biden is disposable, and is being utilized as a ruse to impliement all the insane damage to America Obama wanted to do but could never get away with doing publically.

Kamla Harris is just as disposable.

It’s too bad that Uvalde dad died of broken-heart syndrome instead of Brandon.

Miller and Austin should have resigned, no one did.

“…the withdrawal from Afghanistan was the pivotal moment.

He has never recovered from it.”

Nor should he.
