Director of Diversity at Mercer University Claims Racism is a Public Health Crisis

“According to Booker, this idea has been gaining traction around the country”

The left loves this idea because if racism is a public health crisis, lots of avenues of power open up for dealing with the supposed problem.

Campus Reform reports:

Mercer University Diversity Czar claims ‘Racism is a public health crisis’

Mercer University Director of Diversity and Inclusion Initiatives Ansley Booker claimed that racism is a public health crisis in an article published on the university’s news website Apr. 7.

According to Booker, this idea has been gaining traction around the country, as “local and state leaders are declaring racism a public health crisis or emergency.”

She notes that one of the “major indicators of quality of life” is “race and ethnicity,” in addition to other traditional indicators such as education, neighborhood, and social context.

Booker points to higher rates of food disparity among Hispanics and Black people, as well as the disproportionate impact of HIV on Black women, to justify her claim.

A major cause of these disparities, according to Booker, is the history of redlining, which “has displaced these communities into areas with poorer land quality, less access to healthy foods and voter disenfranchisement.”

As Campus Reform reported earlier this year, race was considered a significant factor in deciding which COVID-19 patients to prioritize in New York State. In this case, “Non-white race or Hispanic/Latino” were favored to receive medication.

“Public health” has become the root password to the constitution, because we let it. We need to push back on this hard, and it will stop.

Here’s one group doing that. They educate people that “medical necessity” and “states of emergency” do not magically create extraconstitutional governmental powers.

They have to buy food at the corner mart because all of the major grocery chains have left the area due to high shoplifting. As my dad taught us, “poor planning on your part doesn’t constitute an emergency response on mine.”

If someone were to ask me for a single word that currently described Portland, I would say “hardened.” Doors are being locked tighter and fences are going up everywhere as a natural defense. In response to all of the grocery stores now locking their restrooms and restricting access to those with a “current” receipt, the city has now placed about 100 porta potties at various to provide services. And immediately they are vandalized and made inoperative. Feral is the only word to describe these people. They simply cannot function within a civilized society. Eliza Doolittle is now Terry Tweeker. By jove, I think she’s got it (AIDS, wuflu, ???)

Exactly. These so called “food deserts” are self inflicted, and will soon be followed by other businesses as leftists exact “reparations” on them. Look at SanFran with its high tolerance level for prosecutions. Thievery is off the charts.

Would YOU establish a business where you are practically guaranteed to go bankrupt?

Leftists, and socialists in particular, are the antithesis of civilized or intelligent.

The only racial crisis in the country now is CRT, which depends on race to do its work.

MLK Jr. was kicked to the curb with his equality, which eschews racism.
