Biden Bans Russian Energy Sources: ‘It Should Motivate Us to Make the Transition to Clean Energy’

Ah, yes. Time to transition to clean energy! Can someone inform these people of the natural resource they need in order to charge their electric cars?

Biden filled his press conference about banning Russian oil imports with lies but also his endgame: green energy!

Does anyone believe banning the imports only has to do with Ukraine after Harris and Buttigieg squealed over green energy on Monday?

Buttigieg told people to buy electric cars! Let them eat cake! BTW, you can tell Buttigieg is not fit for his position because you need coal to generate that electricity for your precious cars.

Biden also tried to blame oil companies for price-gouging.

Supply. Demand. How do I economy? 2+2 = Dolphin!

Another lie: Russia’s invasion of Ukraine caused the high gas prices.

We do not forget that the high gas prices began before the invasion. We’re paying a ton more for a tank of gas than we did a month ago.

Putin advanced his invasion in Ukraine on February 24.

You know what else won’t help. Banning Russian oil imports, especially without the Keystone Pipeline XL. Don’t worry, though. We’re going to the good guys in Saudi Arabia, Iran, Venezuela, and Libya for more oil!

WInd up cars are not the answer. Gaslight Ginger said this week Keystone wouldn’t get us out of this because it would take too long to get it up and running. What does that single-digit IQ think it’s going to take to get the grind up to wind up cars? A grid that fails in bad weather as it is.

    alaskabob in reply to 2smartforlibs. | March 8, 2022 at 12:33 pm

They always say it takes too long… until the next crisis when it would have been on line, but then they say it again… too long.

The Left doesn’t like “deterrence”… it costs money and all they see is something that wasn’t needed while their “social programs” are more important. No deterrence leads to crisis, but they are OK with that. Crisis = empowerment.

They have bet you life on their gamble for “green energy”. They don’t bet their own.

Why do you think said person wants the hoi polloi to be driving cars?

Comanche Voter | March 8, 2022 at 12:29 pm

Calling Biden a lying weasel is an insult to the weasels of the world. You can preface almost any Biden statement with the words “This is simply not true”.

This madness has got to stop! Real people are dying in droves. And, many, many times that number are going to die from poverty and starvation.

The Administration and the GOP idiots like Lyndsey Graham have got to stop pushing Escalation! And, someone with some sense has got to start talking Peace.

taurus the judge in reply to MattMusson. | March 8, 2022 at 2:01 pm

      Peace on what terms specifically?

I understand both the frustration and the end result of war ( been in both) but there has never been a “peaceful” end to a military aggression in history that was not predicated by stronger military action.

Listen to the lyrics to the song “Fortunate Son” and you will see the relevancy today as well and why they don’t care.

MattMusson in reply to taurus the judge. | March 8, 2022 at 2:28 pm

This is a border war between two foreign powers. At some point there will be a negotiated settlement of the border. Or, an imposed settlement of the border. Or, a nuclear war where no one left will care about the border.

Putin has floated a set of demands. The Ukraine has replied. Both sides are far apart. But, the answer is not to send NATO fighter aircraft to Ukraine – which is EXACTLY what Anthony Blinken has greenlighted. The US is escalating the war on purpose.

          nordic_prince in reply to MattMusson. | March 8, 2022 at 4:53 pm

Of course – why do you think the MSM have spent the past week or so essentially ginning up support for such an action with their constant “Putin = bad, Ukraine = good” cartoonish “reportage”? They want the fig leaf of being able to say “But the American people WANTED us to go to war against big, bad Putin!”

taurus the judge in reply to MattMusson. | March 9, 2022 at 8:34 am

No, this is not a “war” by any military definition other than some people are shooting at others for a while.

What this is ( in military terms) is a staged tiered slow moving aggression designed to probe the “enemy” ( the US, EU, NATO at a minimum) to test a variety of things such as national resolve, economic impact, tactics, levels of preparedness, response times, ability to muster logistics. These are all things a militant power ( both China and Russia) need to know and have countermeasures prepared for a later “real” aggressive action.

Putin is “playing” kabuki going through the “motions” of war without all the real stuff a true war entails both to gauge reactions but to also use social media to further manipulate. They are studying everything all of us do.

taurus the judge in reply to MattMusson. | March 9, 2022 at 8:38 am

          You need to remember.

Putin ( like all of us) has “intelligence” which in best scenarios is about 50%.

His “cold war” playbook and Warsaw pact tactics are as old and outdated as ours was but we have been “honing” our edge for a while in the sand and debugging problems.

He has to update all of that in order to prepare his own troops.

China, OTOH, has never before been a “world leader” so they have to write their first edition book.

          That’s what this really is.

CommoChief in reply to taurus the judge. | March 8, 2022 at 2:41 pm

The best terms that can be realistically achieved which quickly put an end the fighting, destruction, killing and displacement of refugees. Terms under which some degree of normalcy returns so Spring planting can take place to avoid potential food shortages across N Africa, the mid east and Central Asia.

The longer this continues the greater distance from normal we get. The longer this goes on the more the primary consequences beget secondary and tertiary consequences which can rapidly change from spillover into a cascade.

taurus the judge in reply to CommoChief. | March 9, 2022 at 7:10 am

Again, I ask- what terms specifically and exactly will talk a military aggressor out of their planned and executed aggressions?

CommoChief in reply to CommoChief. | March 9, 2022 at 11:58 am

The last I saw the Russians proposed:
          1. The two eastern Donbas areas be recognized as independent States
          2. Crimea recognized as Russian territory
          3. Ukraine becomes a neutral, non aligned Nation.

The two areas in Donbas already exercise a higher degree of autonomy from Ukrainian govt and portions were already under de facto Russian influence. The Crimea is already under Russian control. The Minsk agreements already state that Ukraine is to remain a non aligned Nation.

In essence the Russians are not asking for much more than the diplomatic recognition of the status quo pre invasion. Yes it requires Ukraine to officially cede territory, but the Russians already control it and won’t give it up and no Nation likes that.

Under the circumstances it seems like very little to do in order to stop the fighting. IMO, the Ukrainian government needs to decide how much their pride is worth in terms of continued fighting v simply recognizing the facts on the ground pre invasion. It’s their call.

The man is now past demented, and over the line to stark raving mad.

Republicans?

UK also phasing out Russian oil imports – by end 2022.

As for electric cars, good luck finding the cobalt needed to build all of them, let alone non-fossil fuel based energy to charge them.

The one positive: If Russia go through with their threat to cut off gas supplies the EU economy ceases to challenge the UK and the US.

Well, until our own ‘net zero’ nonsense cripples ours too.

MattMusson in reply to AnAdultInDiapers. | March 8, 2022 at 1:52 pm

EVs have critical metals from 13 different supply chains and almost everyone of them goes through Russia. Nickel is up 300% today.

Biden is crashing the world economy. Do you think we can thrive on $7 a gallon gas and $10 loaves of bread?

      nordic_prince in reply to MattMusson. | March 8, 2022 at 4:55 pm

Don’t worry, it will get better – try $15/gal for gas, and $25 for a loaf of bread.

      Let the peasants eat cake.

    jrcowboy49 in reply to AnAdultInDiapers. | March 8, 2022 at 4:02 pm

The market for vehicles is not one-size-fits-all. Most consumers value speed, size, or safety over fuel efficiency. Cut these government regulations pricing the vehicles out of reach for the working class that makes America work. Government needs to get the hell out of market regulation, CAFE standards, and people’s life. The internal combustion engines (ICE) are fine with me including diesels, Trucks are Americas lifeline. If you miss the clutch in the ICE, you will really miss the gears in the EV the government is trying to force down your throat. An electric motor has just one speed – and you don’t need to shift it. Not much to do in one except push the accelerator down – and keep an eye on the rapidly decreasing range. This will give you time to think about where you’ll spend the next several hours waiting to recharge. In the ICE, you can think about which road you’ll abuse next – as you wait 5 minutes to refill the tank. Winter also effects the battery output in a negative way, less range.

      nordic_prince in reply to jrcowboy49. | March 8, 2022 at 4:57 pm

Ordinary, everyday people understand these points. But the fools destroying this country are anything but ordinary and everyday people.

Every time I see one of these scripted blather sessions, I am screaming for someone to ask: “What, specifically, are you going to do. Not “use all tools we have”, tell me ONE tool that you are going to employ.”

Having spent my life running smallish tech companies, one thing I strove mightily to do was to ensure everyone knew EXACTLY what we needed to do. Complete sentences, understandable by a twelve year old. The political sector specializes in blather than NO ONE knows what it really means.
What are these “tools”. WHEN are you going to implement any?

taurus the judge in reply to lichau. | March 8, 2022 at 1:20 pm

Unfortunately, you are operating under the false premises as follows:

They actually care ( they don’t)

This is some type of accidental or unintended consequence (it isn’t)

They actually want to avoid the consequences ( they are in fact driving the failure deliberately and by design)

Do not expect the left to do anything except further enable and speed up our destruction.

Juris Doctor | March 8, 2022 at 12:39 pm

President Brandon just hurt ordinary Americans exponentially worse than he hurt Putin by having no substitute for the lost volume from the Russia ban.

healthguyfsu | March 8, 2022 at 12:48 pm

How are we going to “export” clean energy?

We don’t even have enough to run our own grid…and how do you do it…with batteries?

I’m going to do everything I can to minimize Putin’s price hike here at home, except for anything that might actually minimize the price hike! Cmon, man!

How long have Democrats talked about clean and green energy without energy independence? Or is this another one of those carrots to dangle in front of voters like student loan forgiveness?

Clean as in laundered. Renewable as in intermittent. Low energy density. A toxic bath in rare Earth elements disparately distributed. An environmental hazard from recovery to reclamation. A Green gauntlet, a blight upon the land, water, and sky.

    MattMusson in reply to n.n. | March 8, 2022 at 2:09 pm

Reality check – only about 30% of the USA has sufficient solar radiation or wind corridors to support efficient Green energy production. Start thinking about wind and solar like you do hydro. Only certain areas can build large hydro power dams. Only certain areas can build large wind and solar farms.

Obama, Biden, Clinton, McCain, Biden’s Slavic Spring in the Spring series, with American… global collateral damage.

caseoftheblues | March 8, 2022 at 1:03 pm

In other news…Buttigieg also solved homelessness by telling homeless people to buy condos…

Okay, instead of filling my tank, I’ll just buy an electric car. Can I just add it to my student loan?

How long before we wish for the good old days of only 10% inflation? We are at 10% now. Just wait for the impact of higher energy costs and reduced grain from Ukraine (and poorer crops from reduced fertilizer use everywhere) on the supply chain for almost everything. FJB

Remember when Buttigieg drove to work and used a bike the last two blocks? The are phonies.

taurus the judge | March 8, 2022 at 1:15 pm

I brought this up before and will reiterate it again.

None of these people are stupid ( misinformed, in error or any other excuse)

Green energy is a wealth redistribution scam designed not only to wring all assets ( money) out of the citizen where the govt can take it ( Precursor to Cloward-Piven) but specifically designed to destroy the economic engine of the US and literally splay us open at the feet of our enemies.

The laws of physics will not allow it to work or be sustainable from an engineering standpoint.

These acts and actions are deliberate, carefully planned for maximum effect and coordinated with other like acts to bring about the implosion of the USA.

The 3 groups of leftists enjoined in this are:

The useful idiot class ( cannon fodder)

The “elite” class who will be the “overlords” working under our new masters ( most likely China)

The ruling class who will be those who directly sold us out for their positions.

The left is the left and nothing we do will change them. We MUST focus on the RINO problem because as long as we are Trojaned from within our own ranks selling us out for their financial gain, there is zero hope of engaging the external enemy with any hope of victory.

No, some of them like Biden, Buttjudge and AOC really ARE that stupid, on top of being corrupt.

Most of the rest are ‘only’ corrupt.

taurus the judge in reply to Olinser. | March 9, 2022 at 8:14 am

I have a slightly different theory on your take.

I believe the “useful idiot” class ( the sky screamers and their ilk) are that stupid and there is no saving them.

I think those of the Biden class ( lets call them the higher level puppets to distinguish them from the textbook “corrupt politician” we all know) believe they have “purchased favor’ up to and including a ruling class position from the puppet masters in exchange for their allegiance and help.

Juris Doctor | March 8, 2022 at 1:53 pm

Brandon and Jenn Psaki have turbocharged the gaslighting with the unused leases talking points.

What Brandon and Psaki are not telling you is that the environmental activist court invalidated all leases sold last year and then Brandon refused to appeal that ruling.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/thehill.com/policy/energy-environment/596334-biden-administration-declines-to-appeal-invalidation-of-offshore%3Famp

The level of insane, lying corruption on display makes me angrier than I have been in a long time.

EVEN IF everybody in the US suddenly wanted an insanely overpriced electric car, THEY ARE NOT AVAILABLE.

Tesla makes less than 1 million cars a year, and has produced only about 2 million in their entire business so far.

These corrupt lying fucks are telling you to buy cars that LITERALLY DON’T EXIST as a remedy for high gas prices.

    nordic_prince in reply to Olinser. | March 8, 2022 at 5:01 pm

Because the ultimate goal is not to get you into “green” cars.

They don’t want you driving ANY cars, “green” or otherwise. Period.

They want to cram you into cities, where you’ll eat bugs and other fake food, and “you’ll own nothing, and be happy,” dammit.

    jb4 in reply to Olinser. | March 8, 2022 at 7:52 pm

Furthermore, a carefully done study I just saw said that the production of electric cars creates a significant carbon emission excess to start, from all the related mining involved (for the battery). Then that excess gradually disappears as electricity to charge them is not all carbon based, as is gasoline. Of particular interest was the comment that in a place like Norway, where hydroelectric power is about 90% of the total, an electric car offsets the initial excess carbon emission to produce one in less than a year, but almost never in a mostly coal-based country like China.

    JGO_KY in reply to Olinser. | March 9, 2022 at 7:35 am

The premise that green energy autos will be a remedy for high gas prices is incorrect even if these cars were abundant. The goal of green energy is to reduce the standard of living for the middle class to extinction.

OK Joe…ditch The Beast and use a Prius from now on. No more 40 car caravans. Go electric now or go home to your basement.

And the power for the president to ban Russian imports is where in Article II?

The Congress regulates commerce among the states and with foreign nations. Says so right there in Article I Section 8 Clause 3.

The best and needed transition is the removal of demented Biden!

Colonel Travis | March 8, 2022 at 3:44 pm

Considering how many fell for the covid BS the past two years, wouldn’t be surprised if most this country agreed with President Ice Cream cone.

I guess NO energy would qualify as CLEAN energy. No economy would be a green economy.

Marxists are leading the charge to destroy the county, shutting down businesses now driving fuel prices so high no one will have any extra money left.

“Gas is $12/gallon? Let them use clean energy” — Brandon Antionette.

Biden and Psaki are proving to be one and the same.

Biden was perverted garbage coming in. Apparently so was Psaki.

Steven Brizel | March 8, 2022 at 10:12 pm

This is environmental radicalism on full display namely a threat to our national np security and green on the outside and red on the inside

The purpose of ‘clean’ energy is not the the reliable, economical and ecological production of energy. Its purpose is the destruction of the middle class by pricing it out of existence.

It is too bad that Joe Biden can’t transition to being a competent leader!

What the left wants is “less people” (mostly of our kind). They can get this either by starvation or war. They care not which.

This is the message of Michael Moore’s movie, “Planet of the Humans”. He carefully documents the fact that wind and solar are completely impractical. His solution is population reduction.

Eliminating “the wrong kind” has always been the Final Solution of the left.

It Should Motivate Us to Make the Transition to Clean Energy

Excellent idea. How about those nuclear power plants whose licenses the DoE is threatening?
