Racialized Media Exalt USA Skeleton’s First Black Olympian … By Hiding Her Face

Racialized Media Exalt USA Skeleton’s First Black Olympian … By Hiding Her Face

Here’s an idea: how about we drop the swooning, astonished gasping about the near-daily historic black firsts and just celebrate hard-earned human accomplishment?

For some reason, the media loves to tout the historic “firsts” of black people as if it were the 1920s or even the 1960s.  Pretty much any day of any week, you will find a new black “first” that they share as if it actually mattered in any way at all in 2022 and as if it weren’t completely insulting to the black person whose accomplishment is overshadowed by the only thing the media cares about: skin color.

So I wasn’t surprised to see headlines of the historic ‘first’ black skeleton Olympian.  Another day, another black first . . . it’s almost like race doesn’t stop one from being successful in this country.

But one thing did strike me as odd.  Where is her face?

I could pull these all day, but you get the picture.

This is a great accomplishment for any athlete.  Including a black female one—not that it’s mentioned except in passing that she’s female because only skin color matters now.

In fact, as it turns out, Kelly Curtis, USA skeleton Olympian, has a skin color the racialized media finds . . . problematic; therefore, outlets across the nation decided to show her in her skin-hiding Olympic gear in their glowing stories about (yet another) black “first.”

TeamUSA did a lovely feature on this Olympian (archive link).

This media virtue signalling dance is so patently ridiculous.  Do they actually believe that her skin color (or lack thereof) had any bearing at all on her amazing accomplishment?  Are they so basted in bias that they find it hard to believe a black person can do, much less succeed at, anything?  Here’s an idea: how about we drop the swooning, astonished gasping about the near-daily historic black firsts and just celebrate hard-earned human accomplishment?

Did some memo go out from Our Betters®, the NWO honchos (was it you, CFR?), that TV commercials will be all black actors from now on?

This started sometime in 2021.

Yeah, I noticed that, too. It’s very weird, but I guess black actors need jobs, too.

And, if they don’t get them they play the race card.

I wish nothing but happy and successful lives to all the actual mixed-race couples out there – yes, a big cultural change from 50-60 years ago – but it doesn’t seem likely that 3/4ths of fictional couples I’ve seen on TV ads who appear deliberately to be of mixed-race over the past 3 days (yes, all apparently very happy) are truly representative of “who we are”.

(I guess in order to be properly-accepted as a good & progressive person I’m not supposed to notice. So I won’t … starting right … NOW.)

Since blacks favor quotas, we should limit their commercial gigs to 12%. When shopping, I keep in mind which companies’ are running obnoxious black commercials, and buy a different product.

my views of blacks has been evolving ever since the the Trayvon Martin case.

I like to see people succeed on merit, Today the reason blacks have become so obnoxious is in large part due to flooding all aspects of our society with Handout rather than merit based Hand Up Affirmatives. I believe we should return to Hand Up Affirmative Action.

This is by design, I think. The left is just trying to incite the same tired race war they dreamed about in their opium-fueled, patchouli-stinking anarchist hippie days. It’s pathetic and evil. A race war would be over very quickly, and it would not lead to a favorable outcome for the leftist race-baiter elite who see us all as pawns in some checkers game of power and control.

I refuse to go along with their crazy by thinking less of an entire race who are really just being cynically manipulated and used to achieve an end that the lily-white elitist left really doesn’t understand is completely fanciful. Helter Skelter didn’t work out too well for Manson, and it would work out even worse for those stoking these flames of hate and resentment (that’s all CRT is: a tool to make us hate each other, don’t do it!).

Try finding a bank that has any whites in their website pictures or ads!

ONE company features virtually all white, even though they are drawings. Kaspersky anti-virus. And, most of the men have beards! Yay, team!

“I believe we should return to Hand Up Affirmative Action.”

Not me! They have the same opportunities everyone else has, along with laws and company rules that place them on pedestals.

Let them try on their own merits like everyone else. Affirmative Action became a scam, and it would no matter what word you put in front of it.

Not to mention black judges in dramas, and police procedurals.

And of course let’s not forget it all of the lab technicians that are Asian.

Characters with obvious Jewish surnames having NYC accents and are nervous, grating, or both.

    Clergy portrayed as slime balls.

Homosexuals portrayed as militant, fashion-conscious, or nellies.

C’mon, be fair…they still allow white actors whenever they’re portraying mixed marriages – which, if you believe Hollywood demographics reflect actual reality, are north of 50% of all couples….

That, or when they need a bumbling idiot castrato for the Wise Black Woman to set right.

I curse the memory of William Bendix. He willfully took the role of the castrated husband both on radio and television.

You youngsters: look up The Life of Riley William Bendix.

Being vulgar: the man had balls the size of BBs.

See, I would have picked Jackie Gleason and Art Carney…

The Gentle Grizzly in reply to henrybowman. | February 12, 2022 at 10:44 pm

Neither of those two sniveled and moaned quite like William Bendix. He sounded like he would have to ask his wife permission to have his own testicles back. It’s just sickening to listen to that whining sniveling voice.

YES…because they are the true racists…and they need this narrative to keep on being racists and clutchs on power…

This girl might even be more white that Talcum X himself. Damn.

She’s like 25% black and doesn’t look it at all
She’s an American, enough of this crap

One drop BS

Charles Curtis gets no love from the wokesters for being the first Native American vice president.

    He was a Republican.

Well, there’s the problem right there. Republicans cannot be truly a minority, and they certainly can’t be “first” at anything. Geesh, where have you been? (heh, sarc) Republican women aren’t “real women,” black Republicans aren’t “really black,” so of course Native American Republicans can’t be “real” Native Americans. But Elizabeth Warren can be. Get it? 🙂

Dear gonzotx, you might be surprised to learn that my dear, sweet wife is a hardcore conservative, evangelical Christian…..and is (gasp) half FRENCH! She looks like an American. too. lol. Yes, she is sexy, a great cook, and still loves me!! YAY!

In my youth (oh so long ago) I dated a red-headed Irish gal whose hair was curlier than this so-called “black” chick. According to the racist jerks in the dem party, she was apparently “black Irish.”

The lefty nomenclature is very reminiscent of the south-african colour grading of ethnicity. They hate folks who look white almost as much as they hate America.

I thought “Black Irish” referred to the descendants of the Spaniards from the Armada that landed in Ireland after the failed invasion of England- people like Eamon de Valera.

Funny how the left found the one=drop rule to be bad, but now embrace it.

That woman is not black in any way that matters. She would clearly fail the pencil test. Rachel Dolezal was darker.

The premise behind lionizing Black achievement is that they must have had it sooo hard due to all the systemic racism. Except it’s a little hard to see exactly where that racism would have been coming from since you’d need a DNA test to determine this woman was a member of die untermenschen.

The only way the media’s endless gasping about her achievement makes sense if they believe that beyond skin colour, black people are somehow generally inferior at a base biologica-

Ohhhhhhh.

Daniel, you wrote, “The only way the media’s endless gasping about her achievement makes sense if they believe that beyond skin colour, black people are somehow generally inferior at a base biologica-

    Ohhhhhhh.”

I believe they do think that. As do the vast majority of progressives. It’s the disgusting soft bigotry of low expectations.

Maybe they are trying to get black people to watch the Winter Olympics. I have friend who keeps telling me about all the black people in commercials, but I haven’t watched a commercial in years.

Heh, I ditched cable over a decade ago, but some of my favorite free tv streamers have ads (almost unbearable in 2020 because for some reason I will never understand, I was bombarded with Spanish-language and assorted commie candidate ads. Algorithms are stupid since I don’t speak Spanish and am certainly not a commie nor ever going to vote for one). And yeah, they all feature either exclusively or prominently black people. If I were a foreigner here, I would think black people are the majority, but I’m not, and I know that blacks make up around 13% of the entire U.S. population.

One thing I’ve noticed, too, is that streamers are “featuring” black tv shows, docs, movies, whatever. I think this is kind of good because hitting today’s breathtakingly stupid youth with the fact that black people have always been in American films and tv shows is a good thing. They are taught that Bill Cosby was the first black person on a prime-time tv show with the Cosby Show, but this is patently false. (Heck, Cosby was on I Spy back in the ’60s, when no black person in America, according to leftist lies, was allowed on tv.)

As a semi-related aside, back in college I minored in Women’s Studies (yes, throw all the rotten fruit, I was young and stupid), and I was assured that no woman ever appeared as a single woman on tv until Mary Tyler Moore. But then I started watching old tv shows, and I found several with single women leads. From the 50’s, one I think featured Betty White. Anyway, it was an eye-opener. I was being purposefully lied to, manipulated, and I resented the hell out of it and wanted to know why. Long story short, I became anti-lying women’s studies and became conservative (slowly, at first, and then all of a sudden.).

henrybowman in reply to Fuzzy Slippers. | February 12, 2022 at 10:06 pm

Pretty sure Amos ‘n’ Andy was prime time way back when.
And for kiddies on Saturday mornings, there was always Buckwheat.
Single women? Binders and binders full. Gidget. Annette Funicello, Cathy Gale (Honor Blackman). Jeannie the Genie. Barbara Wright (Dr. Who). Uhura.

Don’t forget Julia (Diahann Carroll), which featured a single (widowed) professional (nurse) mom and her young son. It was groundbreaking for the 60s.

The Gentle Grizzly in reply to Fuzzy Slippers. | February 13, 2022 at 8:27 am

“Cosby was on I Spy back in the ’60s,”

Dihann (spelling?) Carol had a show in the early 60s, she played the part of a single mother raising a young son, and was a nurse. As I recall, it was called Julia.

I also seem to remember that her challenges of being a single mother were not portrayed as something exclusively black.

Algorithms can often provide entertainment. Grocery stores gather data through their loyalty cards, and, based on your purchase history, dispenses coupons at checkout.

For about a year, Kroger coughed up coupons for Massengil, Revlon, and beauty soap.

I use a fake name for most loyalty cards. How they get “female” from “Robert Schumann” is anyone’s guess.

I find it fascinating….media wants all races mixed, but how do you label 100%mixed race society into grievance groups? Do they really want to eliminate the grievance by diluting races into one mass of coffee-color skin where no one is black or white?

Mr./Ms scooterjay, you have forgotten the lefty definitions of “white-hispanic,” asian-americans who are too smart to be allowed into higher education, conservative blacks who “aren’t black enough,” conservative women who (black or white) are traitors to their gender/race and native-americans who aren’t offended by any location/team/river/lake/mountain/fish, etc., being named after native-americans.

They will never run out of grievance groups to tout, or political/ethnic groups to blame.

Not a problem – then everything degenerates into one big pissing contest of intersectionality.

“The Lathe of Heaven,” by Ursula LeGuin.

I guess she must have voted for Trump — because she ain’t black!

For some reason, the media loves to tout the historic “firsts” of black people as if it were the 1920s or even the 1960s.

Unless it is the first black female lieutenant governor of Virginia (Winsome Earle-Sears). Then they are white nationalists, or something.

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again.

LITERALLY the most racist people in the US are woke rich white liberals.

A1C? You mean, they sent a diabetes measurement to the Olympics?!?

    “I’m so conFUSED…!” – channeling John Travolta.

Why is she being called the “first black Olympian” for this event? Her mother is white so that makes her one of many bi-racial people in the US and around the world and maybe even that have competed in this sport.

Same with godaddy.com. i was an early subscriber to them, but I noticed last year all their commercials only had blacks in them, since my company wasn’t geared to only one race, I assumed they did not represent my needs so allowed my subscriptions to expire. I assume they have enough income to cater to a single skin color if clientele.

For some reason, the media loves to tout the historic “firsts” of black For For some reason, the media loves to tout the historic “firsts” of black people as if it were the 1920s or even the 1960s.

They need to atone for their past history of racism, slave owners and outright criminality. So by pretending the first whatever by a black person is not only demeaning to black people but they feel like they’ve atoned for their ancestors past hatred and cruelty.
If they had complete power we’d see the slavery come back and lynchings. Leftists love their lynchings.

For the Leftists race is the first determining factor in and interactions.

The Gentle Grizzly in reply to Skip. | February 13, 2022 at 8:40 am

For some, so is religion. My mother was a first class example of that.

Me: “Mom, I met some kids I like over at my new Junior High!”

    Mom: “Are they Jewish?”

The recent focus upon race raised difficult definitional issues. In old Louisiana, there were distinctions made regarding different multiracial ancestries. Should we revive that, if we move society to the point where we start treating people differently based upon race? Here we have a woman whose athletic career is subsidized by the US Air Force (an organization without significant history of racial discrimination.) Her mother is white and her father is a black former NFL football player. If we start reparations, how much does she get as compared with a person the same age who had two black parents, no subsidy from the Air Force and an education at a low-quality inner-city school (as opposed to Princeton High)?

ConradCA in reply to lawgrad. | February 13, 2022 at 11:33 am

It should be the Democratic Party that pays reparations. They fought to keep black in chains. They oppressed blacks during the Jim Crowe era. Now they should atone for their sins by compensating black for the evils they inflicted on blacks.

As long as they take it all from Bill Gates, George Soros, Zuckerberg, and Bezos, I don’t care.

OK. I realize I left myself open to this. Bill Gates, like the CHICOMs, isn’t threatened by this.
