“Convoy to DC 2022” Gains Momentum as American Truckers Get Organized

“Convoy to DC 2022” Gains Momentum as American Truckers Get Organized

Meanwhile, Canadian PM Trudeau’s gambit to smear Freedom Convoy participants as racist is an epic failure.

American truckers are now organizing a “Convoy to DC 2022”, inspired by the nationwide support and social media attention being received by Canada’s “Freedom Convoy.”

Like their Canadian brothers and sisters up north, those involved in the budding American protest say they are against current vaccine mandates that require truckers to show proof of vaccination in order to cross the border between the U.S. and Canada and vice versa.

Jeremy Johnson, who is listed as an admin on the Facebook page and is also the host of his own popular Facebook page “The Disrespected Trucker,” announced in a video posted to the “Convoy to DC” page on Sunday that the “March to Freedom” convoy would roll out on March 1. He said that further details will be forthcoming.

“When is this starting and who do I need to contact,” “Convoy to DC” member Robert MacEwen wrote on the group’s Facebook page. “I am a owner operator of a log truck here in (Washington) state and I have plenty that would be willing to join. Thanks.”

The Facebook page that appears to be the social media hub has over 111,000 thousand followers.

The page states that they support freedom and they are done with the mandates.

“We are part of many large groups who believe in our founding fathers. We believe everyone has a voice. We support our freedom. Help us spread the word about this group and together we all can make it a better place.. God Bless America,” the page reads.

The start date has not been set. However, it appears they are targeting California as their starting point.

Meanwhile, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau insulted many of Canada’s citizens, claiming they were racists and threatened violence.

Speaking from self-isolation after he and two of his children tested positive for the coronavirus, Mr. Trudeau said he understood the frustrations of Canadians, exasperated by a pandemic that has taken a heavy toll. But he criticized the protesters for flying “racist flags,” hurling abuse at small business owners, spreading disinformation and, in one case, going to a homeless shelter in downtown Ottawa and demanding food.

“There is no place in our country for threats, violence or hatred,” he said, adding that the convoy was not representative of a majority of truckers, 90 percent of whom are vaccinated.

That gambit did not play out as well for Trudeau as he may have hoped. Candice Bergen, the Deputy Leader of the Conservative Party, reminded the Canadian Parliament that Trudeau was in blackface “more times than he can remember.”

Once hailed as heroes at the start of the pandemic for bravely working while the virus spread, Canada’s truckers are continuing their heroism. The Freedom Convoy has no plans to disband until the ineffective pandemic policies, and vaccine mandates are rescinded.

They say that they have enough money for four years.

Although initially organized to oppose vaccine mandates for truck drivers crossing the Canada-U.S. border, it has grown in recent days into a movement against COVID-19 restrictions in general, and Justin Trudeau’s government.

The demonstration in Ottawa on Saturday saw truckers block the streets around Canada’s parliament building.

Some have pledged to stay in the area to continue their protest.

Convoy organizers say they have enough funds to keep trucks on Parliament Hill for up to four years, according to Keean Bexte, an independent Canadian journalist.

How long do you suppose Facebook will leave the Convoy to DC page up?

FJB

Yeah, weird that they are using Facebook to organize. Seems self-defeating.

That, or a poke in the eye to Facebook.

Ooooh, now that would be good! (as long as they have a back-up to stay connected when they are banned. And they will be banned.)

Somehow, given what I am reading lately, I don’t think it will be GETTR.

Naw, that place is a dead zone. Sigh. I was really digging Parler, but then it got taken down and just never recovered.

Rumble. Parraleleconomy.com,… Why isn’t LI on Rumble already? Dan Bongino is very busy building a comprehensive alternative to the Marxist platforms yet we see him mentioned here even less than Trump.

I’m hoping that Joe Rogan wakes up joins Bongino in getting that alternative established for real.

I think we set up a Rumble account but that it has not yet been activated, but I will double check.

Here’s the problem for small outfits like ours; there are so many “alternative” outlets that we simply don’t have the manpower to post to/keep up with them all. (As an aside, you do know that most of the accounts you follow for these huge names are actually run by interns, social media hires, others who are not the real person, right? No one person can possibly post to every account on every ‘alternative’ media account: you know where the real ones are? On Twitter. Someone else then posts what is posted to Twitter on these other accounts, unless the person has been banned from Twitter, and then you have to figure out what their new “real” account is, the one actually used by the person, not just copied over to every other outlet by someone else.)

Rogan is not a conservative, nor is he a Trumper; he’s just a curious, funny guy who likes to learn stuff and provide amazing content for his audience. He is not ideological in right/left terms and has no interest in being tagged as such. He’s sort of like a Glenn Greenwald in that way. Greenwald is not a rightie by any stretch of the imagination, but he sounds sane to us right now because the radical left is so freaking insane . . . and he’s willing to say so.

@Fuzzy 10.28am I am aware of the jungle of alternatives. But Bongino is creating a separate blogosphere that includes a payment facility and completely independent support architecture. Yet it’s complicated but it is already invaluable to those trapped on YouTube, Google and other architecture and revenues where it is inevitable they will be booted. EVERYONE should be setting up on Rumble while you have the choice and the time to handle it smoothly.

As to Joe Rogan, I really don’t care that he is not a conservative. He is an excellent interviewer who brings on the best guests and asks all of the questions. It is a long-form platform so weasels know to avoid him if they rely on filibuster, redirection and every other trick for evading the question. Rogan is not an ideologue. He is very philosophical and his opinions change as his journey of asking questions to those who have answers continues.

If he really did take the knee yesterday, then he is a coward. But I believe I understand what he is saying. There are only 3 interviews that pissed off the libs: his exposing of Sanjay Gupta and CNN for lying repeatedly about his ivermectin situation, his interview of Dr. Robert Malone and his interview of Dr. Peter McCullough. His “apology” was based on promising to do better linking opposing opinions.

With Gupta, Gupta WAS the opposing opinion and admitted he lied. So he is not an issue. The he recanted the next day on CNN claiming that he was terrified of the “angry” Joe Rogan and feared being jumped. What a clown.

With Malone and McCullough, even had he invited the other side to the show, they certainly would have declined as they did with that panel discussion last week. So maybe now he will post links below the podcast.

The Bongino alternative invites all takers to express their opinions. YouTube and Spotify will rapidly become boring echo chambers. They will have to follow the crowd to Rumble if they want to attack conservatives where they will be met with a lot of unfiltered blow back.

As to the other alternatives, I am not aware of any. I hope it doesn’t become an alternative echo chamber which is what you are suggesting. I would love to see Joe Rogan make the move. So far, he is the only one with the balls, independence and audience to make a big difference. If he tarnishes his brand, he get his butt kicked. It’s a no-lose situation.

Because FB group is working. It’s the social media that most people, most normal people, are on. In a crisis you use what works. Self-defeating would literally be not using the best tool for the job for less important ideological reasons.

The Gentle Grizzly in reply to TrickyRicky. | February 1, 2022 at 10:18 am

Especially with ” over 111,000 thousand followers” 111 million followers would be an interesting ban indeed.

Racists in Canada? I though they only lived in the SE United States.

MattMusson in reply to scooterjay. | February 1, 2022 at 9:34 am

What do you expect with a leader who wears blackface for fun?

The Gentle Grizzly in reply to MattMusson. | February 1, 2022 at 10:21 am

As did a hell of a lot of people back then.

I think Trudeau is a rat of the lowest order, but going after anyone for blackface decades ago is really picking nits.

So-and-so said “N1663R” in 1987, so condemn him for life.

Someone told the joke about four Mexicans on a boat with a hole in the bottom, “Quatro sink-o”: ruin them mercilessly.

To me, it is just tiresome.

Go after these people for the ACTUAL harm they are doing NOW.

@Grizzly, Please don’t think wearing blackface was a normal thing in all of the USA. I am older than Trudeau, and I grew up in the sticks of NE Pennsylvania. I don’t know where you grew up, but I have never seen or heard of anyone wearing blackface as a kid. In fact, I was shocked when it was suggested on FoxNews that it was a normal Halloween costume back in the day. My mom would have slapped us for saying the n-word or anything like it. These days MSM likes to paint country people as racists, which I can assure you is a stereotype in of itself.

Well, two things: first and most importantly, you’re missing his point that people shouldn’t be cancelled for crap they said or did ten, twenty, thirty, forty, fifty years ago. That’s crazy. There is literally no person alive or dead who didn’t say or do some stupid crap when they were young; that’s when you learn that stupid crap is stupid and stop doing it.

I still get angry every time I think about what the left did to Paula Deen over something she said decades ago. And as we are learning, the lefties who are the most vocal about cancelling people for something they said or did thirty years ago are the ones hoping no one finds out what they said last week.

As to blackface, it was kind of big thing around here (LA, aka Lower Alabama), at least in the ’80s/early ’90s, because everyone wanted to be Michael Jackson or MC Hammer on Halloween–we girls went for Olivia Newton John from Grease or for Joan Jett or Madonna. (Wait! Were we racist because we didn’t dress up like black female pop stars!!?? Why didn’t I choose Tina Turner? Am I a RAAACIST for NOT opting to dress up as a fabulous–and she was fabulous–black singer in the ’80’s?! Or wait! I probably should have opted to dress up as Boy George because not doing so clearly makes me homophobic and stuff! The tangled web of leftist lunacy gets so confusing.).

Anyway, literally not one person I ever saw was in the type of minstrel blackface that Justin Brandeu or Ralph Northam was in. It was to be a favorite musician on Halloween; the single shiny glove, the weird “Hammer pants” . . . NOT let me do something that can only be seen as completely inappropriate and wrong even, as you note, in that historical moment.

This is where the left has lost the plot. Wanting to HONOR and emulate someone you admire on Halloween is not the same thing as belittling an entire race of people by purposefully donning minstrel blackface as . . . . literal minstrel blackface. But the left pretends that it is just the same . . . unless it is one of their favored hetero white males, of course.

Milhouse in reply to pmpalmiero. | February 2, 2022 at 2:34 am

Literal minstrel blackface didn’t demean anyone either. The whole idea that blackface is wrong and offensive and racist is made up out of nothing and must be resisted.

Al Jolson was not even slightly racist, and anyone who suggests that he should not have worn blackface, or that his doing so is a stain on his reputation is a wicked liar who should be cancelled and shunned into oblivion. Ditto for Laurence Olivier.

And might I remind people that many minstrel players were black, and they wore blackface too. Nobody forced them to, they did it willingly and their audience, largely black too, appreciated it. It was simply a theatrical convention of the time and that’s all there was to it.

Captain Queenan in reply to pmpalmiero. | February 2, 2022 at 4:38 am

Some people did it. A good friend ofmine wore blackface for Halloween at 10 y.o. in 1964. I would have beeen disowned if I had done it myself.

We are holding them to their own (supposed) standards. Alinsky’s Rule 4: : “Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules.” They’ve destroyed people for blackface, and for far less. Then let them face ridicule and cancellation for it as well.

This is the important part that everyone, right or left, glosses over. Same as with masks. Not wearing a mask is not a terrible thing. Not wearing a mask when you force others to do so, THAT’S the problem.

It’s not necessary to play fair with Trudeau. He sure doesn’t. If the blackface issue takes him down, good because then we’d be rid of him.

Left rushes to paint “Convoy to DC 2022” as “Insurrection 2.0” in 3-2-1…

This explains why so many FBI agents are about to start learning to drive the big rig.

Woohoo!!! This could become the spine of the American resistance! A pivotal election year with “BOTH” parties ensnared in their own webs of corruption.

#meantweets24!!!!!

I’ve gotten to the point where that picture of Trudeau and the ‘flag’ makes me immediately think “I wonder what poor Federal employee got assigned that job.” Because that’s a plant.

The Gentle Grizzly | February 1, 2022 at 10:24 am

The Canadians are employing SWAT teams in – at least – Alberta.

Where and when will that happen here, and who will be the first trucker to die?

If it comes to pass, it’s easy to see how this is going to play out. The federal government, citing ‘national security’ concerns will simply close DC to all non-local truck traffic. Then, organizers will sue and then…well, we’ll see.

Cue “Convoy” by C.W. McCall. Don’t let Pig Pen work his way to the front, but encourage him to park as close to the White House as possible.
.

Convoy organizers say they have enough funds to keep trucks on Parliament Hill for up to four years

Boom.

It will be interesting to observe the govt response and how quickly the escalation begins if at all. Out of the gate I would anticipate the activation of every weigh in station along the route. Simply idling the trucks in place might be a better option or a realistic plan B. Just stay home for two weeks, no delivery via independent truckers and a potential work stoppage by some % of fleet drivers would sill send a powerful signal.

Weigh stations depend on compliance. If every truck just blows by it, the police can do no more than catch a few isolated truckers.

Trudeau can do no more than label the truckers (the media is helping all they can). I suspect the corrupt politicians (is that redundant?) are nervous that they could push the police/military onto the side of the citizens if they push too hard. An evil path always leads to a dead-end.

Well one Canadian province has made it a crime not only to be in the trucker protest, but even to stand by tbe side of the road and offer suppirt as they pass by..
Remind me which side is using Nazi techniques?

Subotai Bahadur | February 1, 2022 at 5:25 pm

Aside from the problem organizing on Facebook [Leftist government supporters/agents], they need to avoid GoFundMe, because they also are exclusively on the side of the Left.

Then there is the matter, as noted, of government regulations being super enforced on truckers, and contraband materials being planted on truckers. Remember who we are dealing with.

There is the additional matter that Canada does not have a BLM/ANTIFA army on the side of Trudeau, and we do here on the side of the Democrats. THERE WILL BE VIOLENCE. It will have to be prepared for, and you can be sure that any trucker who tries to defend himself [and many who don’t] will be charged with a bunch of crimes and there is every chance that they will be held unconstitutionally like the January 6 demonstrators. And keep in mind that people like Lon Horiuchi are still honored in the Federal government.

There is a good chance that this will contain the “Meriam’s Corner” moment of our day. This is serious. This could trigger a war. We have lost the first two boxes already.

Subotai Bahadur

All good points but I don’t think their efforts to plant “evidence” to incriminate them is going to sell. We’ve become used to this tactic and besides, who are they selling that to? And now US and German truckers are revving up to join in. All they are doing by their false flag ops and obvious lies is to further infuriate us and we are furious enough already. The truckers have to stick to their guns and the people have to hold fast in supporting them.

If this is the free world’s Tiananmen Square, we must not back down. And by “we”, I mean WE. We are all in this together or we will lose everything. The hill to die on. And they are threatening to fire the first shot.

Don’t think that all Canadians are libtards! This is a photo of our two doors away neighbour’s home in a small village in Prince Edward Island. He bought the sign that the Community Center was going to throw away and planted it in front of his home on Main Street:

I had a link but it didn’t seem to make it to the comment above. The sign said:

SO PROUD OF OUR CANADIAN TRUCKERS.

SO DISGUSTED WITH OUR PRIME MINISTER.

Can I ask a technical question?
This article contains the exact same tweet three times in a row. Why?
I have noticed some other blogs where they insert a tweet, then they quote the entire tweet verbatim in the article’s own text immediately below it. And they do that with every tweet. It’s really off-putting.
Is there some technical reason people do things like this? Does some canned “tweet inclusion macro” make it happen automatically?
It looks like schoolkids trying to pad out their “1,000 word essay” assignments.

Ottawa asked the towing companies to start hauling trucks away. Towing companies said they had “covid” and couldn’t do it.

Alberta towing companies reject requests to supply trucks to RCMP

“We have created relationships in our community and contracts that would be in jeopardy if we participate in any way,” said a worker at the towing company who asked to remain anonymous to avoid any negative response to his company.

“A lot of these smaller companies don’t want to ruin their reputation in the communities they serve so they don’t want to get involved,” he said.

“We have received calls here to supply our trucks, but we’ve also had calls from locals who won’t identify themselves asking if we plan to send trucks. When I told them ‘no’ they said ‘good then we will keep supporting you.’”

The spine (truckers) is where we all meet to support the cause. We ARE all in this whether or not we realize it. Easy decision. When the opportunity comes calling, choose to help the truckers. Look for those opportunities. Every little bit adds up.
